MBC’s Music Core is back once again with yet another fun and exciting show!

Besides the usual stages, Kim Wan Sun, After School, Eru, and Turtles made their comebacks. Elsewhere,Big Bang, K.Will, and INFINITE had their goodbye stages. Finally, Kim Jong Min, X-5, and SpinEL made their debuts, while CNBLUE began follow-up promotions.

Other performers included 4minute, f(x), Rainbow, A Pink, Tony An, Yangpa, and Ali.

As expressed earlier, Big Bang concluded promotions for their repackaged album on today’s episode of Music Core with their final performance of ‘Stupid Liar‘ on the show.

“Stupid Liar” was one of two title tracks for their repackaged album, and were co-produced by G-Dragon andTeddy. It delivered a catchy, electronic rhythm with a unique modern rock feel and became another trend in the K-pop industry as it charted at the top of various music ranking charts after release.

Due to Big Bang’s impending Japanese tour scheduled for May through June, YG Entertainment had earmarked a short promotional period which will end this weekend.

After a long six years of hiatus, the Madonna of Korea, Kim Wan Sun, has finally made her comeback on today’s episode of “Music Core“!

The minute news of her comeback hit the industry, older music fans screamed out in joy over the return of the original idol Hallyu star. Younger fans are no exception, as it didn’t take long for them to be captivated by her charms.

Her title track, “Super Love“, features a hard rock guitar sound by Lee Jung Woo of CUBA and an analog synthesizer riff that is usually only used in break beat music.

Having achieved great success with their recent album “First Step“, the CNBLUE boys have returned with a special performance of “Love Girl” for this week’s episode of “Music Core“!

“Love Girl” in particular was re-arranged as an acoustic version, different from the original included in “First Step”. The song flawlessly managed to carry the same bright and upbeat rhythm into a smooth finish that only an acoustic cover can give.

FNC Music stated, “Since the boys have received so much love to the point of earning double and triple crowns, we have decided to produce a new album as a way of saying thanks to our fans. With three tracks that were originally only released in Japan and plenty of photos of the members, we hope that it will become a great present for our fans.”

After a long hiatus, the After School girls are back on MBC’s Music Core with a brand new round of promotions after releasing their first album, “Virgin” earlier this week.

Decked out with a lovelier and more feminine concept, the girls have filled the album to the brim with songs that hold motivating themes like confidence and individuality. It’s been a long year since their last “Bang!” release, so the girls have set out to make this comeback particularly special.

Their title track, “Shampoo”, was written by poet Won Tae Yeon (of Secret Garden’s “That Man“) and composed by Japanese producer, Daishi Dance.

With a subtle piano melody and an emphasis on the emotions behind the lyrics, the song seamlessly weaves in and out of After School’s beautiful vocals and powerful rapping.

Singer Eru is back on the comeback trail with his new mini album, “Feel Brand New“, and began promotions on today’s episode of MBC’s Music Core.

Eru is making an effort to show the transformation from his former “Eru-style ballads” through his first title track of 2011, “Countrified and Immature“. This song is a collaborative effort between hit-maker Kim Do Hoon and composer PJ, which has a lyrical main melody arranged with elements of hip-hop. This new distinctive song will show a new emotion of ballads.

Also, in the beginning, the arrangement of strings and piano has upgraded both the composition and feeling for the song. The lyrics of “Countrified and Immature” were written by hit-producer Choi Gab Won and emphasize the unique and plain-spoken charm of men.

“Countrified and Immature” starts with a melody that will stick to your lips even after one listen. The lyrics which speak of the search for love by a man and his nervous and bitter feelings upgrade the song yet another level. You can sense beauty and lyricism in the addictive chorus and the heart-moving orchestral tune.

Korea’s first ever acoustic guitar girl duo, SpinEL, has made their official debut with their first single, “ChuChu“.

This girl duo team is comprised of two members, SPIN and EL, both of whom were born in 1996. SPIN is the vice president of her class and first began featuring for other artists since 2003. EL used to be a child actress and starred in a variety of movies, dramas, and mucicals.

While SpinEL is a combination of their name, it is also the name of a jewel. Like their name, the girls hope to become a shiny jewel in the Korean music industry.

Representatives of SpinEL stated, “The public is thirsty for talented and real music, as exemplified by the hits of C’est Si Bon and MBC’s ‘I Am A Singer.’ SpinEL has that same girl group charm, but with also a musical style that will satisfy listeners.”

The girls debuted on MBC’s “Music Core” by performing with their guitars on air.

Pop trio Turtles finally made their official comeback with a new member, Lee Kang, and their title track, “Hero“, on today’s episode of MBC’s Music Core.

“Hero” features an exciting beat with snare drums and whistles that will surely have you humming it for days. Inside this upbeat rhythm is an equally uplifting message that aims to give hope and bravery to those that are giving up after lost love.

Open World Entertainment’s new boyband, ‘X-5‘, finally made their long-awaited debut on today’s episode of “Music Core” with “Don’t Put On An Act“!

With a title track produced by hip hop’s big daddy, ‘Rhymer‘, the boys showcased an excellent performance that utilized the song’s electro hip hop rhythm for an engaging and complex choreography while also rapping about the betrayal of love alongside a synth rhythm.

Untouchable

4 October:

Untouchable‘s Sleepy (birth name Kim Sung Won, 28) and The Action (birth name Park Kyung Wook, 27) revealed to StarNews on the 4th that the two ended their five-week basic military training in Gyungkido and will both be serving in the 28th division military band together.

H.O.T‘s Lee Jae Won also completed his service at this same location. Untouchable’s rep stated, “All the members were able to end their basic training well and they are healthy. It’s a relief that the two will be serving together to encourage one another.”

On August 2nd, both Sleepy and The Action were admitted through the 306th reserves located in Gyungkido. Untouchable made their debut in 2006, and released their new single “You You” in May of this year. Their sensuous melodies and strong hip-hop flavor are loved by fans everywhere.

On August 2nd, hip hop duo Untouchable enlisted in the army together as active-duty soldiers.

TS Entertainment bid their rappers goodbye and shared a photo from the event, as pictured above. Members Sleepy and D-Action were born in 1984 and 1985 respectively, and voluntarily submitted stepped into the enlistment office last June to register themselves.

The two will be going through five weeks of basic military training in Uijeongbu before being dispatched to a unit in Kyunggi-do for 21 months of service.

A representative of TS Entertainment said, “They were quite shy standing in front of the camera with their shaved heads, but they were also very glad to be able to enlist together. They thanked everyone for giving them their love, and promised to work for their nation.”

It was reported that both members of hip-hop duo Untouchable will enlist for mandatory military duties in August. The Action and Sleepy both turned in their application to enlist into the Nonsan Training Camp this August.

On June 21st, an official revealed, “Untouchable’s members The Action and Sleepy applied to enlist on August 2nd in order to enlist together.” Because there are still parts that the MMA (Military Manpower Administration) needs to audit, their exact enlistment day could change.

Meanwhile, Untouchable recently ended their promotions for their song “You You“. Untouchable received much love from Korea as a hip-hop duo since their debut in 2008.

After wrapping up their “You You“ promotions, hip hop duo Untouchable hit the studio once again to record the theme song for OCN’s medical crime drama, “God’s Quiz 2“.
Titled “Question“, the song is a hardcore hip hop track with powerful beats and lyrics criticizing the problems of society.  The song matches the high tension felt in the drama perfectly, and it’s quickly becoming a highly-searched item on portal sites.
“Question” was co-produced by Marco (who’s worked with artists ranging from SECRET and B2ST to Vasco and J’Kyun) and by Untouchable, who participated by writing the lyrics.

In a recent interview with TVDaily, hip hop duo Untouchable discussed how the digital music industry is reaching an unhealthy level of competition.

According to the duo, it’s becoming more and more difficult to survive in the music industry. MemberSleepy started with, “Because of the worsened competition in the digital music area, I’m upset about the current situation where it’s difficult to do music with just music.”

He continued, “I wish that the genres (in the music industry) comes to include various other genres such as hip-hop and rock, and not just idol music.”

His groupmate The Action also expressed his honest feelings with, “Right now, the situation’s such that you can only put your life on the line for online charts. I don’t think there’s anyone else [on the charts] except for people who want to make songs that get you hooked in one minute. When I see that, I feel frustrated, but it’s not a completely bad thing, either. So I’m just sad about the current reality, where provocative music is made calculatingly.”

Meanwhile, Untouchable is currently pursuing activities with their digital single ‘YOU YOU’, which has charmed fans in its unique combination of rock and hip hop sounds.
