F.T. Island recently broke their own record in Japan for the most number of albums sold in the first week with their second Japanese album, ‘20 (Twenty)‘.
On May 16, F.T. Island was beat out by Japanese rock band Mr. Children for the 1st and 2nd spots on the Oricon Daily Album Chart, coming out in 3rd place.
However, F.T. Island was able to break their own record on the Album Sales Chart by selling 41,726 copies in the first week of sales. With 41,726 copies sold, F. T. Island has set a new personal high for album sales in their first week.
The band stated, “The production for this album overlapped with our Korean promotions so we were tight on recording time, but we made sure to stop and interpret every part of the lyrics because it’s important that we deliver the proper emotions.”
The title track, “STAY“, was produced and written by member Jonghun, which added more meaning to the album.

As reported previously, F.T. Island is gearing up for the release of their upcoming Japanese single,‘Neverland’. Although we have quite some time left before the release on April 18th, the group has just revealed the full PV for the song!
The music video shows the members rocking out in space, heightening anticipation about the new concept as well as the upcoming performance stages.
Even though the song has not been released, it has already gained much attention as it was chosen as the theme song of a Japanese anime titled, ‘Ozma’.
The official single will drop on April 18th, so until then, check out the video below!

F.T. Island has returned with a bang, hitting #1 in album sales as soon as they released their album.
On January 31st KST, F.T. Island released their fourth mini-album, ‘Grown Up‘, on and off-line simultaneously. After the album was released, it reached #1 on off-line album sales (Hanteo Charts). Meanwhile, their title track “Severely“ soared on online music charts and has been receiving great feedback.
F.T. Island’s management, FNC Entertainment, stated, “The members of F.T. Island are ecstatic after hearing the good news about their new album…They are practicing hard at the moment to give a perfect comeback performance”.
F.T. Island will hold their first comeback performance on February 2nd through ‘M! Countdown’.

“Severely” will be F.T. Island’s title track for their 4th mini-album, ‘GROWN UP‘ (scheduled to be released on January 31st). The MV will tell a sad love story, and features acting from member Lee Hongki.

Band FT Island announced their comeback by unveiling the jacket cover for their new album, ‘GROWN-UP‘.
On January 26th, the boys released a press release revealing the new jacket photo for ‘GROWN-UP’. On the album cover, the boys are holding instruments in their hands and are looking off into the distance, giving off a quiet, mysterious feel.
Going along with that concept, all the songs on their new album are slow-tempoed rock-ballad tracks. The boys who have received much praise for their talents with song like “Hello Hello” and “Like The Birds” in 2011 will give further evidence to their audience that they have grown and matured as musicians.
Their agency FNC Music confidently remarked, “This may be their best album yet, as by hearing the rock ballad tracks, fans will be able to experience how much they boys have matured musically.”
The album drops on January 31st.

The men of F.T Island are set to release their 6th Japanese single “Distance” on November 30th. The single will come in a limited edition A and B as well as a regular edition and include the songs“Distance”, “Life”, and “Venus”.

In addition to releasing the music video for “Like the Birds“, the men of idol rock group F.T. Islandhave released the accompanying album, ‘Memory in FTIsland‘.
The album is filled with remakes of classic songs from various eras. The album is intended as a treat for fans while they wait for a full comeback. The group’s busy international promotions have prevented much promotions in Korea. F.T. Island wants to bring a bit of warmth this fall season to those who listen to their album.
