Big Bang‘s Daesung, will make his long awaited return to the music industry with his fellow Big Bang members on leap day, February 29th.
Meanwhile, on the February 4th episode of MBN‘s ‘What’s Up‘, Daesung showed off his versatility through his rock star alter-ego, the God of Hell, Hades.
With regards to his drama filming, Daesung commented, “I’m happy that I was able to experience the ‘student life’ that I can’t fully experience as a celebrity.” Hopefully fans will get to see a few more awesome performances, not to mention his poignant and impressive acting, before the show’s upcoming final episode.

On the December 18th episode of MBN‘s ‘What’s Up‘, the cast of the show performed a stunning rock cover of Park Bom‘s solo hit, “You and I“!
The episode divided up the freshman musical students into two competing teams by their instructor and asked them to come up with a rearrangement of the 2010 hit song. On the ‘B team’ were Im Joo Hwan, Kim Jiwon, and Daesung, who incorporated rock elements to the song with faster beats and thrumming rap. The addition of Daesung’s powerful vocals adds a dimension to the song never thought of.
The ‘A team’ took a slightly different route by opting to express the story of lovers by performing it as a duet.

Big Bang‘s Daesung has once again apologized for upsetting fans with his scandal earlier this year. The idol has apologized numerous times recently, with the latest being at the ‘YG Family Concert‘ this past weekend.
On December 6th, Daesung appeared at a production event in Seoul for his MBN drama ‘What’s Up‘, where he said, “While I was on a break, I was able to think deeply about my work and the things I need to do and complete.”
He continued, “I deeply apologize for worrying so many people. In the future I, will work hard to bring happiness to even more people. I’m extremely nervous, but I will call upon my courage and do the best I can in everything I do.”
With regards to his drama filming, Daesung commented, “I’m happy that I was able to experience the ‘student life’ that I can’t fully experience as a celebrity.”
Daesung also expressed his surprise at the event’s large turnout. “I’m really surprised that so many people turned up. To the fans who are always supporting me wherever I go, whatever I do… I love you.”
30 November:
Big Bang‘s Daesung, who has been on hiatus since his car accident in May, will soon be returning to the industry through the upcoming drama, ‘What’s Up‘.
On November 30th, TV network MBN revealed a video teaser for ‘What’s Up’ through their official YouTube channel, giving Big Bang fans a long-awaited glimpse of their favorite idol.
The video contains shots of Daesung and the drama’s main theme song, which is sung by Daesung himself. Fans also go to see impassioned acting from his co-stars Im Joo Hwan, Im Joo Eun, Jang Hee Jin, and Oh Man Suk.
‘What’s Up’ is screenwriter Song Ji Na‘s second campus drama, revolving around the lives of musical students. PD Song Ji Won stated, “This drama, which contains the stories of the love and dreams of musical studies students, focused 100% towards completing pre-productions.”
‘What’s Up’ will air its premiere episode on December 3rd. In the meantime, check out the preview below!

It’s been confirmed that Big Bang‘s Daesung will be making his official comeback on TV through MBN‘s new drama, “What’s Up“!
MBC stated that “What’s Up” will begin broadcasting in December as a special weekend drama. The series will run for a total of 18 episodes, each lasting approximately 60 minutes long. While the drama was supposed to air back in March, numerous delays resulted in a decision to broadcast the series in December.
Drama enthusiasts have already shown their interest in the upcoming series, especially with Song Ji Na being the scriptwriter. Song is widely known for her successes in writing “Hourglass”, “The Pupil of Dawn”, and “Tawangsasingi“.
“What’s Up” is a drama about a group of students in their 20s studying a major in musicals; the series follow their experiences in happiness and hardships as they pursue their dreams, passions and love. Daesung will be part of` the main cast of the drama, which includes musical actors Oh Man Suk andIm Joo Hwan.
