T-ara‘s Jiyeon shed tears when her father made a surprise visit during a fan signing event for outdoor clothing brand Wild Roses.
One online community posted a screen capture of the May 29th broadcast of OBS‘s ‘Unique Entertainment News‘ with the title, “Jiyeon’s father makes a surprise appearance at fan signing.”
Although the T-ara members were surprised at the appearance of a middle-aged man, he was revealed to be Jiyeon’s father. As Jiyeon began crying, her father warmly hugged her and said, “I came here deliberately to see you. I’ll go now,” immediately leaving afterwards.
Netizens replied to the clip, “Jiyeon’s father left so quickly,” and “Because of their schedule, they must not be able to visit home.”

On May 18, Jiyeon posted the above picture with the simple message, “Goodnight,” in Korean, English, and Japanese. In the photo, Jiyeon’s slightly tangled hair flows in the breeze as she flashes a small smile. In the comments, fans agreed that her soft smile makes her look like a dream herself.
Followers commented, “This is what a doll looks like,” “I think her eye smile is going to make me melt,”and “She’s just so pretty even though her hair’s tangled.”

The idol was laden with a rigorous schedule that had her rushing from drama shoots to music programs. As such, she became exhausted and required a visit to the hospital, where she was given injection before going on stage for SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘.
An associate of Jiyeon’s told Star News on January 1st, “After she completed T-ara’s stage for the MBC ‘Gayo Daejaejun‘ at 2 in the morning, Jiyeon went to shoot for the KBS drama ‘Dream High 2‘ at 4 a.m.”
They added, “She went to the rehearsal for ‘Inkigayo’ in a sleep-deprived state. It’s a shame since she also has a drama shoot afterwards“.
An associate of Core Contents Media commented that Jiyeon will continue her schedule under the watchful eyes of her manager, and will frequently be getting check-ups.

On November 24th, Jiyeon posted the incomprehensible tweet, ” ㅇㄹㄷㄱㅈㅇㅈㄷㅁㄹㅇ ㅁㄷㅈ ㅈㄷㅎ.. ㅈㄱㄴㅁㅎㄷㄷ..^^ㅁㅇㄷㅁㄷ..ㄷㅁㄱㅈㄷ”, which was a sentence comprised entirely of initial consonants of each word. In response, Soyeon replied in the same format, “ㅇㄹㅁㄷㄷㄱㅇㅈㅅ”.
As we all know by now, it was only a matter of time before netizens were able to decipher their strange tweets. They guessed that Jiyeon’s tweet actually read, “I could die at this rate, everything should be done in moderation.. I’m so tired right now^^ It feels like my mind and body is gonna break.” Supposedly, Soyeon’s tweet said, “Let’s all submerge underwater.”
Many fans and netizens are suspecting that Jiyeon and Soyeon’s tweets were referring to the group’s strenuously stressing schedules. Some fans commented, “Soyeon once posted a similar tweet, too.”
As the fans’ concerns began to escalate, Jiyeon tweeted, “The post that everyone interpreted negatively was only just for fun. I won’t write a tweet like this again.”
28 August:
It’s just been revealed that T-ara’s Jiyeon overcame her knee injury in order to participate in T-ara’s last “Roly-Poly” stage.
On August 25th, Jiyeon pulled her right knee ligament during choreography practice and was advised by both her doctor and her company to rest. However, Jiyeon insisted on continuing with her schedule.
Jiyeon stated, “I wanted to be with the members on stage especially because this week is the last broadcast performance of ‘Roly-Poly’.”
Her company revealed, “She has a great sense of responsibility, so despite the pain from her injury, she took painkillers and did her absolute best for the last ‘Roly-Poly’ performance on ‘Inkigayo‘. Afterwards, she even finished up her other pre-arranged schedules. The situation with her right knee has however worsened, so she is currently resting at an emergency room awaiting treatment.”
Core Contents Media also commented on T-ara’s future activities, saying, “We will make further decisions after we observe the situation with Jiyeon’s right knee.”
Besides saying goodbye with T-ara on music shows this past few days, Jiyeon also attended the entire recording of MBC’s 3rd Idol Star Athletic Championships held yesterday at Jamsil Stadium, although she had to be helped from location to location because of her injury.

On August 25th, Jiyeon posted selca pictures on her Twitter, tweeting, “A good-feeling start~ Fighting today, too!”.
Seen making several cute expressions for the camera, it seems like the new bangs revitalized Jiyeon’s spirit. After all, who doesn’t feel good when they get a new haircut?
Netizens stated, “Cute, sexy, and adorable” and “Fighting today, too!”
13 June:
On June 11th, Jiyeon tweeted the photos above with the caption, “On the way home after ‘Music Core‘~~ Recharge!!!! Without the photo (of Dokko Jin) it’s less cool.”
The picture, which shows Jiyeon with a bottle of Vitamin Water against her cheek, parodies a scene from the romantic comedy drama “The Greatest Love”, where Goo Ae Jung (played by Gong Hyo Jin) cools her face with a bottle of Vitamin Water that has a photo of Dok Go Jin on it. “Recharge” refers to Dok Go Jin’s constant need to see Goo Ae Jung in order to recharge his spirits.
Jiyeon also tweeted to fellow member, Eunjung, “Potatoes are for cultivating (raising). As you cultivate, one day a flower will bloom,” which brought about much laughter.

As the caption, she wrote, “Three black beans”.
All three of them have the black face mask plastered on every corner of their faces, and although it looks pretty ridiculous as a sel-ca prop, they look adorable all the same.

Q. “This is your first time dubbing with ‘Gnomeo and Juliet‘, right?”
Jiyeon: It is. With regular acting, I usually focus on how to look the prettiest in front of the camera, but it’s different with dubbing because you have to pour everything into just your voice. I think I overdid a bit with my voice acting (laughter). It was hard, but I think the career itself is extremely charming since you’re expressing your emotions through your voice. I was actually really worried about whether my voice would be lower in tone to my co-star’s, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon.
Q. “We heard from your company that you’re better at picking things up as opposed to rehearsing.”
Jiyeon: I don’t think it’s true (laughter). I’m the result of my practice.
Q. “Before, gagmen usually did voice acting for animations. Now, a lot of idols like SNSD’s Taeyeon andSeohyun, f(x)’s Sulli, KARA’s Gyuri and others are starting to take part in it.”
Jiyeon: I think using idol members creates a bigger effect in terms of headlines. But that also means there’s more responsibility for idols to do well since the focus is now on us and on whether we’ll be able to pull through.
Q. “Idols truly are ‘almighty’ in that sense. Out of music and acting, which career path are you more interested in?”
Jiyeon: I can’t choose, they’re both charming careers. I love working as a singer, and I love working as an actress. It’s cruel to ask me to choose. Of course, I do feel the pressure to do well in both.
Q. “Are you close to any idol members?”
Jiyeon: Lee Joon. I worked with him in “Jungle Fish 2” and we’re working together as lovers in “Gnomeo and Juliet” now (laughter). In a variety program, we chose each other as the idols we were closest to as well. I’m not close to that many celebrities, actually. They say that I have a cold first impression.
Q. “You have such doll-like looks. You’re lovely, not cold.”
Jiyeon: They think I’m mad when I don’t have an expression on my face. I’m also really shy so you won’t be seeing any aegyo out of me until we’ve seen each other for a while (laughter). It took me a long time to get closer to Lee Joon as well. Lee Joon said that he thought I had a bad attitude when he first saw me (laughter).
Q. “You said you don’t have aegyo. If so, how can you act out romantic scenes in ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’?”
Jiyeon: It was really difficult. My voice is also on the husky side, so the voice actors on set always told me to raise my tone.
Q. “Starting with your movie and leading up to ‘Jungle Fish 2′, you’ve mainly played roles that were kind of depressed, but you’re actually known for being bright and outgoing on variety programs and such. Which personality is easier to act?”
Jiyeon: I actually have a lot of ups and downs emotionally. When I’m feeling outgoing, it’s easier for me to play outgoing characters. I also like showing the colder side of me too. I think it goes back and forth (laughter).”
Q. “What’s your ideal man like?”
Jiyeon: I like a sensible man who knows how to do aegyo. Lee Chun Hee, who recently got married, is the closest to my ideal man. I’ve never actually met him though.
Q. “We asked Lee Joon who is ideal woman was, and he said, ‘A nice person.’ When pestered for a name, he replied, ‘I’ll just say it’s Jiyeon.’ He also chose Jiyeon as the prettiest girl group member.”
Jiyeon: I take care of him a lot. During “Jungle Fish 2″, I let him borrow my gloves.. but he just left with it (laughter).”

15 April:
The Korea Professional Baseball League is into its third week of the season, and T-ara’s Jiyeonparticipated in the opening pitch for the LG Twins in their home game against the visiting Samsung Lionson April 14th at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
Jiyeon showed her cuteness with her light pink jersey and brought many smiles with her presence, but unfortunately for her and the home fans, the Twins were thumped 1 – 5 in the end.
