4 April:
A new school named after CNBLUE has been established in Burkina Faso, Africa!
CNBLUE has revealed that they’ve participated in a charity project that constructs a school in the town of Niamadougou. Yearly, the boys will help out with the funding for the school by donating a portion of the profits made from their albums and concerts. The school will be attended by 100 pre-schoolers and 1,000 elementary and junior high school students, and features facilities like daycare, after school center, plenty of classrooms, and also will provide meals.
Burkina Faso is considered one of the most impoverished places in Africa, and many families can’t afford to send their children to school. The children instead sell items in the streets to help their family live on for another day. Unfortunately, the number of children being abandoned is also on the rise, as well as child abuse and exploitation.
To give the children another chance, CNBLUE decided to help out in every way they can. Their school opened up for class last month and is already in session.
FNC Entertainment stated, “To pay back the love that they’ve been receiving, CNBLUE has been looking for various ways to help out. They’ve decided to set up a school, and will continue supporting these children in the future.”

On March 26th, the members of CNBLUE gathered for the comeback showcase of the release of their third mini-album, “EAR FUN“!
During their hiatus, the boys have been busy with their Japanese albums and tours. They began by expressing their excitement over their return, with leader Yonghwa stating, “It’s our first Korean comeback in nearly a year, and it’s hard to believe that we’ve just been focusing on our international schedules during that time. It was a blissful one year for us.”
He continued, “People are beginning to recognize us in Japanese ramen shops and such. Before, we were able to freely walk the streets of Japan, but now people notice us at clothing stores and on Twitter. It feels a bit weird, and it also makes us wear sunglasses. I think it’s because the four of us are always together. They mainly recognize Jungshin… When we’re alone, they recognize us a little less.”
The boys also introduced tracks off of their new album, which are mainly based in the modern rock genre. Starting with their Kim Do Hoon produced title track, “Hey You“, it was revealed that Yonghwa had produced five songs aside from the title track.
On “In My Head” being included in the album, the members said, “It’s not only our major debut song, but one that sold over 100,000 copies. We sang it again in Korean for the album. We always performed it in Japanese so we really want to try performing it live in Korea.”
When asked about their opinions on their comeback overlapping with a lot of other popular artists, Yonghwa honestly answered, “We did feel the pressure while preparing our album and even thought about scheduling it at a different time. It’s funny because we never used to think like this in the past since just the fact that we were promoting was fun and amazing. That’s why we decided to just go back to our roots to a time where achievements didn’t matter. We’re just going to enjoy everything.”
Jonghyun added, “Day by day, it gets harder as there’s more pressure. It’s still great, though, because it makes us work that much harder and prepare more thoroughly.”
On the band’s future, Yonghwa revealed, “This album was meant to protect CNBLUE’s color, but starting with our next, there will be a big transformation. After the promotions for this album end, we’re going to take a few months to figure out what direction we want to go in.”
When asked if they would ever like to perform on ‘Top Band 2‘, Yonghwa answered, “We love watching that show. There are a lot of bands we’re fans of, so of course we’d like to guest on it. Instead of competing, we just want to perform and have fun.”

Korean rock band CNBLUE‘s 2nd major Japanese single “Where you are” sold 60,000 copies in its first week and topped the Oricon Singles Chart for the week of February 13th.
CNBLUE made their indie debut back in Japan back in 2009 and released their major label debut single titled, “In My Head” last October.
A foreign band has not topped the singles chart for 41 years. It last occurred back in January 18, 1971, when Canadian rock band Mashmakhan released their single “As the Years Go By” under the name “Two in the fog“. CNBLUE is the fourth Korean male artist to have topped the Oricon Singles Chart following TVXQ, JEJUNG (Jaejoong) & YUCHUN (Yoochun) (from TVXQ), and Jang Geun Suk.
Though this is quite the accomplishment, the boys are more excited about the number of album copies they have sold.
Their newest single album ‘Where You Are‘ sold over 60,000 copies as of February 7th, and the boys are one step closer to breaking the vaunted 100,000 mark. Only the biggest hit artists in Japan sell over 100,000 copies and it shouldn’t be hard for CNBLUE as the boys have previously accomplished this feat last October with their first single, ‘In My Head’.
On their new album is track “Where You Are“, and “Feeling“, written by lead vocal Jung Yonghwa as well as “Get Away” written by Lee Jonghyun. High sales numbers for this album is more meaningful to the members this time around, as it means their music has been respected and acknowledged in the competitive market.
Their agency FNC Entertainment stated, “We received over 100,000 orders for their new album before it’s release, and with that we knew that CNBLUE’s position in the Japanese music market had shifted. The boys have matured as musicians, composing the songs on their single album.”
In related news, CNBLUE will be embarking on their ‘Fan Club Live Tour’ in Japan beginning on February 13th.

The boys of CNBLUE who are slowly beginning to dominate in Japan were recently met with an unexpected and embarrassing situation. Japanese news source Sankei Sports reported on the boys’ recent performance that was suddenly halted by the local police.
CNBLUE held a secret live performance (guerilla concert) at Shinjuku Station Square in Tokyo on the 19th, and although the performance was unannounced with no promotions, a busy crowd of 7,000 still showed up to the concert. The number of fans exceeded CNBLUE’s own expectations, and it was the first time a new artist in Japan gathered a crowd that large for such an event.
However, they faced some issues not even five minutes into the show. Shortly after the boys finished performing their Japanese debut song ‘”In My Head“, the Shinjuku police arrived on the scene. The police determined that it was considered a safety hazard for so many people to be gathered in one small place without prior notice, and they were instructed to halt the show at once.
The boys who were planning to sing three songs total could only finish one before they were interrupted, and leader Jung Yong Hwa remarked, “The safety of our fans is most important. We will see you guys at Saturday’s show“, and waved to the audience. The rather organized and orderly show ironically became disordered and out of hand once the police arrived, as the fans began screaming to see more of CNBLUE.
CNBLUE released their major debut song “In My Head” on the 19th. They performed it for the first time at Yokohama Arena on the 25th of last month and were highly praised for their musical talents.
Source : MyDaily via Nate - allkpop5 October:

But the song has been receiving some more attention as of late, as it has been chosen as the ending theme song for Nihon TV‘s new animation program, ‘Supernatural‘. ‘Supernatural’ is an animation spinoff of the popular American series.
The news couldn’t come at a better time, as the boys are planning their major Japanese debut for October 19th. It was a favorable way to promote their new song, and it also serves an opportunity for Yonghwa to be further recognized as a talented musician.
CNBLUE recently held a Indies concert at the Yokohama Arena in Japan for 15,000 fans on September 25th.
4 October:
A recent photo from CNBLUE‘s concert in Japan has been receiving satisfied responses from Korean fans.
On October 3rd, an online portal site uploaded a photo of CNBLUE with a caption that read, “CNBLUE’s Japan concert picture.”
In the photo, the members are seen standing on stage in the middle of their performance. In addition, the boys are seen wearing simple and casual outfits of jeans paired with printed t-shirts.
Netizens commented, “I want to see you in Korea. How long will you be having promotional activities in Japan?”, “I’m happy that you are receiving a warm response from the Japanese”, and “Jung Yong Hwa, you look even more handsome now that you’ve dyed your hair.”
Meanwhile, CNBLUE will have their major debut album ‘In My Head‘ through Warner Music Japan on October 19th.
19 September:
Recently on the 18th, the members of CNBLUE put on their ‘Blue Storm‘ concert at the Olympic Hallin Seoul. It was their first performance in Korea in ten months, and they proved that they’ve definitely grown as artists in that time.
The group’s performance was highly energetic, and the boys devoted the show completely to their fans. It did not take long for them to show the audience that they had acquired much experience and learned a lot in the time they were away, performing overseas.
They started off the concert off with “Intuition“, followed by “Ready and Go“, “Voice“, and without missing a beat, continued with “Love Girl“, “Love Revolution“, “Sweet Holiday“, etc. Fans were on their feet for the majority of the concert as the upbeat music continued without long breaks in between.
CNBLUE’s acoustic performance as well as the additional orchestra that was present proved that the group had further sharpened their musical talents. Songs like “Why Why“, “Don’t Say Goodbye“, “Love rides the rain“, and “Because I Miss You” were newly edited and performed for their fans.
They also sang some of their indies title tracks off their Japanese album such as “Lie“, and “Just Please” as a treat for their Japanese fans who crossed over to Korea to see them perform. They ended their performance with a re-vamped rock version of the smooth love song, “Love Light“.
The C.N. Blue boys are no longer ameteurs when it comes to performing on stage. Nothing about their concert that night seemed pre-orchestrated or even conventional. They were simply enjoying themselves and enjoying their music on stage. They did not need to try hard to engage their audience, and their fans seemed more eager and responsive at this concert than any other performance before it.
Their fans demanded an encore and so the boys ambitiously put on what rather seemed like another concert of four more songs- “I’m a Loner“, “Love“, “You’ve fallen for me“, and “Thank You“.
After it was all said and done, Jung Yong Hwa remarked to the audience, “I realized that we as performers need to enjoy ourselves on stage as well. I very much enjoy interacting with our fans through our performances- its a lot of fun.”
With this concert, C.N. Blue kicked officially kicked off their Asia Tour. They have a major debut planned to take place in Japan in the near future, and they also have a Indies performance scheduled at the Yokohama Arena on the 15th in Japan in front of 15,000 fans.

There’s not much time left, but we will practice extra hard to provide our fans with a close-to-perfect performance“.
The concert will be held on September 25th at the Yokohama Arena which has a maximum capacity of 15,000 seats. This will be CN BLUE’s final concert as an indies band before their major music debut in Japan.
9 September:
Pop-rock band CN BLUE will be opening for Linkin Park‘s concert in Japan!
It was recently reported that CN BLUE will be performing as the opening act for Linkin Park’s concert at the MAKUHARI MESSE center near Tokyo. Linkin Park had personally asked CN BLUE to perform for them after reviewing their profile.
A representative explained, “ Linkin Park personally listened to CN BLUE’s songs and were extremely satisfied after witnessing the boys’ stable vocal capabilities and performance skills. ”
It’s common for artists who go abroad for concert tours to choose local talent for their opening acts; the fact that CN BLUE is a Korean band opening for a Japanese concert makes this particular achievement very notable.
CN BLUE’s representative added, ” This special occasion will help boost CN BLUE’s global presence. The boys are very excited for this event and are practicing hard at night to showcase an excellent performance.”

CNBLUE has been denied entry into Japan because of visa issues.
On August 31st, CNBLUE arrived at Haneda Airport, but like B2ST, were denied entry because of some visa complications.
CNBLUE were supposed to attend an official schedule in Japan on September 1st for their major Japanese debut. If the issue does not solve itself at the airport soon, the members will have to return to Korea and sort out their visa problems there.
CNBLUE’s company stated, “Currently, we are working with our Japanese agency on quickly resolving the situation. We are trying our best to make sure that CNBLUE’s Japanese schedule does not get harmed by this problem.”
In Japan, Koreans are given a 90-day, no-visa term if they are just visiting for a vacation. However, if profits are made through concerts and other activities (like in the case with CNBLUE), a visa must be obtained.
The visa issue has confounded many fans, as CNBLUE attended ‘Mezamashi Live‘ in Odaiba, Tokyo back on August 22nd.
