High Kick 3

13 Feb:

On the latest episode of MBC ‘High Kick 3‘, f(x) Krystal showed Chocolat‘s Tia who the boss was by putting her in an unbreakable headlock!
Krystal who plays the character Ahn Soo Jung showed a great deal of jealousy towards Kang Seung Yoon‘s new foreign girlfriend, Caché (Tia) in episode 94.  Kang Seung Yoon who is known for his excessive generosity disorder showed even more generosity to his girlfriend by purchasing anything Caché wanted. Ahn Soo Jung couldn’t stand to just sit and watch Kang Seung Yoon’s ridiculous act as he bought several bags of clothes from the department store to keep his girlfriend happy.
If this wasn’t enough he asked Ahn Soo Jung to teach him how to ask his girlfriend, “What do you want to eat?  Do you want a desktop or a laptop?  Don’t worry about money, just pick whatever you want” in English.  Outraged Ahn Soo Jung claimed that Caché is a gold digger and pressured Kang Seung Yoon to ditch his girlfriend and go out with her.  However, Kang Seung Yoon said, “Look who’s talking” and ignored her argument.
However, Kang Seung Yoon and Caché’s relationship didn’t last long when Kang Seung Yoon and Ahn Soo Jung coincidentally found Caché dating another guy in a cafe.  Heartbroken Kang Seung Yoon was speechless as he could only look on.  Ahn Soo Jung felt bad and tried to comfort him, not knowing that she would later find the opportunity to avenge Kang Seung Yoon.
The sweet chance came when Ahn Soo Jung was walking down the street and saw Caché with her new boyfriend heading towards a convenient store.  While her boyfriend left Caché alone, Ahn Soo Jung charged forward and put Caché in a headlock.  Her shocked boyfriend immediately came out, but was too late to catch Ahn Soo Jung who ran off after a successful ambush.
Do you think Ahn Soo Jung and Kang Seung Yoon should be a new couple on the show?

It looks like Daniel Choi will be making a cameo appearence on ‘High Kick 3‘.
Daniel was seen taking part in a shoot at a hospital in Kangwon on February 7th.
The actor had previously starred in ‘High Kick 2‘ as a doctor, but in this cameo, he’s said to portray a former college rival of Yoon Kye Sang‘s. The explanation attached to the photo revealed, ”Yoon Kye Sang and Daniel Choi are rivals, but have a strange, unexplainable relationship with each other.”
Naturally, fans of the popular series are excited to see Daniel Choi’s (brief) return — especially if there’s a heated rivalry with Yoon Kye Sang in tow.
Netizens commented, “Everyone from the previous seasons has appeared on the show now exceptHwang Jung Eum“, “I can feel the tension just from the picture“, and “He must be busy with his movie, but he stayed loyal to the show.
So far, many actors from season one and season two have made a cameo appearence in the series, such as Jung Il WooYoon Shi Yoon, and Shin Se Kyung.

14 October:

On the October 13th episode of MBC‘s ‘High Kick 3‘, Lee Jong Suk and his on screen sister, f(x)‘sKrystal competed for their uncle’s brand new laptop.
Krystal’s character is known to get everything she wants with her aeygo, so when she heard about her uncle’s new laptop she practices being cute in order to win her uncle over and receive the laptop as a gift. She practices her “Pu-ing” cuteness by putting two fists on her face and repeating the words “pu-ing pu-ing”.
Her brother Lee Jong Suk can’t stand that she always wins so he reluctantly and desperately imitates her “Pu-ing” cuteness in front of their uncle and begs for the laptop. Their uncle becomes shocked by his cuteness and pitifully replies that he could have the laptop.
Audiences got quite a laugh seeing Lee Jong Suk acting cute. You can watch the hilarious clip below starting around 3:02:

‘The sitcom genius’, PD Kim Byoung Wook‘s newest project is MBC‘s High Kick 3 . The script is byLee Young ChulHong Bo HeeJang Jin Ah, and Baek Sun Woo. The sitcom is directed by Kim Byoung Wook, Kim Young Ki, and Cho Chan Joo. High Kick 3 tells the chaotic story of a middle-class family who has filed for bankruptcy. The pilot episode aired on the 19th, and it is receiving praise for being an all-inclusive sitcom with comedy, action, and drama.
The story of the pilot episode took place in the futuristic year of 2052, and they opened up with an elderly person introducing their book, ‘High Kick, counterattack of the short legs‘.
The elderly person continued to narrate the story and it began with, “2011 was a year in which everyone was driven by financial wealth…” They ‘went back in time’ to 2011, and the camera focused in onYoon Kye Sang‘s older sister, Yoo Sun (An Yoo Sun), and Nae Sang (Ahn Nae Sang), a married couple.
It is YooSun’s birthday and it is also the day their son Jong Suk (Kim Jong Suk) has an important ice hockey match, while their daughter Soo Jung (Krystal) was also scheduled to return home. But Nae Sang is betrayed by a friend on this day and loses everything he has in an instant. In order to run from his creditors, he grabs his wife receiving a birthday massage, his son from his vital hockey match, and his daughter who has just landed at the airport and quickly heads for… anywhere.
When they finally come to their senses after their escape, they realize that all of their credit cards have been cancelled and so they use the few dollars their daughter has in her pocket to buy choco pies to substitute for a birthday cake. But when they go to light the candles, firecrackers go off instead of candles with one firecracker attached to Nae Sang’s bottom, and off he went, high into the night sky with a loud scream. With that, the pilot episode of High Kick 3 came to a close.
The first episode contains an intense car-chase scene where the family is running from their debtors along with some other action scenes and it also provides some comic relief with the scene of Nae Sang flying into the night sky with a firecracker attached to his behind.
The character line up is also impressive. Yoon Kye Sang plays the role of a professional doctor who steps down from a major hospital to do volunteer work, Lee Juk who starts a proctological surgery business in an attempt to make big money but fails and as a result is suffering from depression, Kim Ji Won who plays the role of a high school students that refuses to be tied down, and Seo Ji Sukplays the role of a simple and ignorant gym teacher.
After viewing the first episode, do you think High Kick 3 can continue the series success as a sitcom?

8 September:

On September 8th, the cast of MBC‘s new daily sitcom, ‘High Kick 3‘, attended the show’s production conference at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul.
Director Kim Byung Wook also took the time to apologize to viewers for the tragic ending of ‘High Kick 2′, saying, “To start, I apologize for the way the ‘High Kick’ series have been known to end. Season two had a lot of dramatic points, but we promise that this season will focus entirely on the comedic aspects of life.”
When reporters mentioned that this will be his first time directing a comedy specifically for youths, he said, “It’s honestly easy to make comedies for older audiences.  I felt like a copying machine after a while which is why I decided to switch things up.  I know that it will be hard to come up with a lot of episode ideas for a show that’s limited to teens, but I think that the characters themselves are fun enough to prevent too much repetition.”
f(x)‘s Krystal, who gained acting experience through another sitcom last year, will be playing the role of a tough, but outgoing daughter who’s just come home after studying abroad.
She stated, “I was added near the end of the sitcom last time, so I think I was a lot more comfortable acting in that one. Now, I’ll be in this sitcom right from the start, so I’m worried as to whether or not I’ll be able to pull it off.  I think I fit the role for ‘High Kick 3′ however, so if I just work hard, hopefully good results will come about.”
She also revealed her gratitude for the support of her fellow f(x) members by stating, “The members told me to work hard and promised that they’ll catch all of the live broadcasts. Victoria-unni even dropped by the film set to show her support.”
The press conference also heard from ‘Superstar K2‘ contestant Kang Seung Yoon, who spoke about the fans that were against him going into acting (especially since he’s training to become a singer under YG Entertainment).
Kang Seung Yoon said, “I play the role of an illogical and four-dimensional high school student. He uses a Kyungsang-do dialect and is absolutely loyal to those he feels close with. I received this audition offer while training to become a singer, and joined the program half in doubt. Once my casting was confirmed, I received a lot of criticisms asking why I’m starting with acting when I said I’d be a singer.”
He continued, “I don’t really feel anything towards people who say that, though.  It’s a great opportunity for me so I’m going to work hard.  I’ll be continuing my singing lessons while acting and I promise to come back with a better image as a singer soon.”
‘High Kick 3′ will be taking the baton from ‘All My Love‘, and is one of the most highly-anticipated sitcoms of 2011.  The sitcom begins airing on September 19th at 7:45 PM KST.

26 August:
MBC’s third installment in the ‘High Kick‘ series released the first pictures from a recent poster shoot.

On August 16th, at the MBC Dream Center, the poster shoot for ‘High Kick 3: Revenge of the Short Legged‘ took place. Four different concepts were used for the poster filming, as all 15 actors and actresses, including Ahn Nae Sang and Yoon Yoo Sun, appeared on the set on time.
The appearing actors and actresses, who got closer through practicing their script, greeted each other and the staff loudly once arriving, praising each other’s costumes and giving off the image and vibe of a big family.
On August 26th, the pictures were revealed and the photoshoot had a fashionable quality with the concept, “luxurious people”. Whether by coincidence or chance, the concept of everyone dressed in black for the poster shoot seems to foretell of another possible gloomy ending. If you remember, one of the posters for ‘High Kick 2‘ also had a black and white tone.

During the break between filming, around 100 people, including hairstylists, make-up artists, style coordinators and managers came to help out with the photoshoot. One of the crew members stated, “Even though I’ve participated in a lot of photoshoots, it’s the first time that so many people were mobilized“.
The 15 actors and actresses spent a long time for the entire shoot to show their best image. Yoon Kye Sang and Seo Ji Suk cheered their co-actors with encouragement, “This picture is for a lifetime, let’s work a little harder, smile“, causing the actors to smile and have a warm look.

During a recent interview, actress Shin Se Kyung expressed her anticipation for the upcoming MBCsitcom ‘High Kick 3‘ and commented, “I’m really looking forward to ‘High Kick 3′. I’m curious as to how the story will unfold.”

Shin Se Kyung rose to stardom after taking part in last year’s sitcom ‘High Kick through the Roof‘, and is showing a great deal of interest towards the next High Kick series, ‘High Kick 3′.
She added, “Director Kim Byung Wook suggested that I make a cameo in the new sitcom, and I’m determined to do so, even as a ghost- I think it would be fun to play a ghost in the show.
It hasn’t yet been decided what cameo role Shin Se Kyung will take on, but netizens have already started to think of some amusing scenarios, some even jokingly suggesting that the opening scene of the new sitcom will be of Shin Se Kyung and Choi Daniel’s funeral.
The ending of ‘High Kick through the Roof’ shocked fans when it was implied that Shin Se Kyung and Choi Daniel were killed in a car accident, and netizens are therefore trying to guess what kind of cameo role the actress will play in ‘High Kick 3′.
Meanwhile, Shin Se Kyung seems to have had quite a busy year seeing as how she has three different projects currently awaiting release. Her movie ‘Blue Salt‘ will be released on August 31st, her new SBSdrama ‘Tree of Deep Roots‘ will be airing on September 28th, and she also recently concluded filming for the upcoming movie, ‘Emergency: Close to the Sun‘.

For the first time ever, a snapshot of the cast recording for ‘High Kick 3‘ has been revealed!

On August 19th, an online community site uploaded a few photo under the caption, “Incheon Airport, ‘High Kick 3′ recording“. In the photo, f(x)’s Krystal and Julien Kang are seen taking directions from crew members while at the airport.
The netizen revealed, “It was a scene where Krystal was smiling brightly and waving at an expressionless Julien Kang. Then Ahn Nae Sang grabbed her hand and dragged her away.
Netizens commented, “So this is how spoilers get revealed“, “After seeing this photo, I’m looking forward to it so much“, and “Her outfit is pretty“.
Meanwhile, ‘High Kick 3′ will be airing its first episode on September 19th.

13 August:

Actress Park Min Young expressed her excitement for the new season of MBC’s ‘High Kick 3‘, which is scheduled to air sometime in September. During a recent interview, she said that she would even be open to playing a cameo role if she were given the opportunity.
Park Min Young actually jumpstarted her acting career with ‘High Kick‘, and for that, she and fellow actors Jung Il Woo and Kim Bum are forever grateful to director Kim Byung Wook.
I’m really looking forward to it, and I plan on watching every episode. I’m even open to play a cameo role on the show if they let me!”
Although a small role on a show like ‘High Kick’ is something she would like to try, she felt quite the opposite about being casted for a leading role in a sitcom. She didn’t feel it was something she could easily pursue, but she did want to maybe undertake a role in a romantic comedy like MBC TV’s ‘The Best Love‘ or SBS TV’s ‘Scent of a Woman‘.
I watched up until the second episode of ‘Scent of a Woman’, and I really enjoyed it. As a woman, it’s not easy to play a part that requires you to be on TV with nerd glasses and messy hair, but Kim Sun Ah is so talented– she can pull off any character. The scene where she’s at the bank telling the teller how she saved all her money– it kind of reminded me of myself when times were tougher back in the day.”
In a year or so, Park Min Young would like to take up a role in something a little more melodramatic. She’s tried a few different genres, but not something melodramatic and so it’s on her list of things to do.

As far as entertainment programs, she has no plans to guest star on any of them just yet. “I’m kind of boring,” she said.
I can’t act when you tell me to do it on the spot, but when I’m in front of a camera, I get in the zone. When it comes to entertaining people, its exactly the opposite. It’s fun to joke around with my staff members, but when you ask me to do it in front of a camera, I’m awkward. I was on “YaShimManMan” a few years back and everyone on the show seemed to know what they were doing except me.”
She wasn’t too turned off by the idea of appearing on KBS’s ’1 Night 2 Days‘ or MBC’s ’Infinite Challenge‘, however. “It’s a little frightening to think about revealing my true self to the whole world, but because everyone on the show do it so well, I feel like they would do a good job leading me through it. It’s something I would like to try at least once. I especially enjoyed the female actress episode of ‘1N2D’. I don’t know if I can imagine myself actually on the show though, (laughs)”
Park Min Young has been picked up for a new KBS2TV drama titled “Man of Honor” that airs every Wednesday and Thursday starting October 12th.

3 August:
Following its first script reading a few weeks ago, MBC’s newest sitcom ‘High Kick 3, Counterattack of the Short Leg‘ will officially begin filming on August 10th.

According to a representative from the show, PD Kim Byungwook has been working non-stop with both staff and cast members to perfect the acting and the script.
The cast consists of Ahn Nae SangYoon Yoo SunYoon Kye DangSeo Ji SukHong Sun ChangLee Jong SukKrystalPark HasunKang Seung YoonJulian KangPark Ji SunLee JukYoon GunGo Young WookBaek Jin HeeKim Ji Won, and many others.
While the cast has already drawn a high level of interest for ‘High Kick 3′, it’s been revealed that the drama will be filming in New Zealand.  Although the main cast members will not actually take part in the filming abroad, netizens were surprised nonetheless since there haven’t been many daily sitcoms to invest in international shots like this.
The show’s predecessors, ‘Unstoppable High Kick‘ and ‘High Kick Through the Roof‘ have both been big hits and so viewers have high expectations for ‘High Kick, Counterattack of the Short Leg.’
The first episode will air following the finale of MBC’s current sitcom, ‘All My Love‘, on September 19th.

24 July:
On July 22nd, MBC’s upcoming daily sitcom, ‘High Kick 3: The Counterattack of the Short Leg‘, held its first script reading at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, Kyungki-do.

Cast members who appeared for the dry rehearsal included Ahn Nae Sang, Yoon Yoo Sun, Yoon Kye Sang, Seo Ji Suk, Hong Sun Chang, Lee Jong Suk, f(x)’s Krystal, Park Ha Sun, Kang Seung Yoon, Julien Kang, Park Ji Sun, Lee Juk, Yoon Gun, Go Young Wook, Baek Jin Hee, and Kim Ji Won.
Taking a cue from PD Kim Byung Wook, the stars all went around and introduced themselves, revealing their determination and passion for the drama.
PD Kim said, “It’s really important that the actors work together because there are things that cannot be expressed through just the script or footage alone. Sitcoms are harder than what most people think, so it requires that much more effort.”

The leader of ‘High Kick 3′, Ahn Nae Sang, said, “I’m overwhelmed with joy at being able to work on something I’ve wanted to be a part of for so long.”
After the introductions, the crew dove straight into the script readings in a both upbeat, yet serious environment. PD Kim made sure to lead the actors in helping them breathe life into their characters, which is crucial since past seasons of the sitcom were much-loved for their unique characters.
Green Snake Media stated, “We will do our best to ensure that ‘High Kick 3′ lives up to the viewers’ expectations. The actors are as passionate as ever, which was reflected during the script reading. A fun and exciting series that exceeds your expectations will be born.”
The sitcom will begin airing on September 19th.

It’s being reported that because of SHINee’s Japanese promotions, it will be difficult to cast Minho for “High Kick Season 3“.

Earlier, officials saw a high probability in casting Minho for the MBC sitcom. In fact, according to entertainment representatives, a proposal to cast Minho had come up during the initial negotiations. Unfortunately, a specific meeting was never set to discuss his appearance.
Meanwhile, on June 22nd, SHINee will release their first Japanese single, “Replay“. But before they kick off its promotion schedules, the boys will be jetting off for the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in England, where they’ll be holding a debut celebration performance.
SHINee will also be traveling extensively throughout Japan from July to hold their live events.
Considering how jam-packed Minho’s schedule looks, it’s no wonder that it’ll be difficult for him to stick around in Korea to film for “High Kick 3″.
