Happy Together 2011

31 December:

On December 29th, popular actress Lee Min Jung was a guest on KBS’s ‘Happy Sunday‘ and surprised the audience by revealing that she’s been cut from many dramas even after passing the audition rounds.
She replied, “Before a drama began I’ve been cut many times.. I’d pass an audition but a few days later would get a call saying not to come out.. Three years ago, it happened around 2-3 times in the span of one year. I memorized the script and if there was a horse riding scene I practiced that and all the scenes, so I was so sad [to get the call] that I’d been cut. After that, I developed a habit of not revealing the drama before it got aired.”
Looks like even Lee Min Jung had a tough start in her career, so congratulations to her and all of her success.
Meanwhile, Lee Min Jung’s movie ‘Wonderful Radio‘ will air on January 5, 2012.

23 December:

On the December 22nd broadcast of ‘Happy Together 3‘, singer IU will be discussing the topic of dating and marriage.
During the recording for the show, IU mentioned that she will probably get bored of gradually developing a relationship through dating and would rather get married.  She stated, “During my third year at middle school, I started working and I have never dated anyone properly.  However, I’ve done something ridiculous where I dated a guy for one day and called it quits the next day.”
She continued, “When I turn 20, I think I will naturally date someone, but I think it will get a bit boring.  If you date someone, break up, and come back again, you will mostly likely end up marrying that person.  In that perspective, I think there really is no point in dating, I’d rather get married as soon as I become an adult.”
In related news, viewers can expect to see IU show off some sexy dance moves on the show’s Christmas special.

The MCs were shocked by this story and asked if they had ever fought with the idol group. The set howled with laughter when Dynamic Duo responded that because they were such nobodies, no one even knew that such a song had been released.
To make matters worse, Tony An ranked higher as a soldier than Dynamic Duo in the army, but he acted kindly to them, not knowing what kinds of things the rappers said about him 10 years back. “We were so immature and thoughtless“, they said in regret.
You don’t suppose we’ll be awkward after this programs airs, do you?”, they cautiously asked.

According to Jung Jae Yong, even though their CDs sold over 3,000,000 copies, the label’s CEO had spent the profits elsewhere and still hasn’t reimbursed the money.
The MCs then remarked, “You guys went through a lot because of money problems, even though your albums were all very successful,” to which Lee Haneul remarked, “That’s why we’ve been in the industry for so long. We have a debt we need to settle together, so we can’t seem to break up and we release more albums.”
He offered a word of advice to the idol groups, “If you want to last in this industry, I suggest all your members to stir up some debt you need to repay together,” which caused the set to explode in laughter.

6 Mei:On May 5th, actress Min Hyo Rin guested on KBS 2TV’s “Happy Together 3” and revealed that not only did she debut as a singer prior to her acting career, but that she almost debuted with a stage name similar to Lee Hyori’s.

MC Park Myung Soo began by mentioning that she looked a lot like Lee Hyori, to which she replied, “My agency told me that I looked like her as well, so they gave me the stage name ‘Lee Hyorin.’”
She went on to reveal that she hated the name and rejected it as strongly as she could, which eventually led to them just switching out the last name and changing it to her current stage name, ‘Min Hyo Rin.’
With her new name, she made her debut as a singer with a unique fantasy/space concept. Her stylists designed an outfit made from plastic to play up the futuristic concept, which unfortunately didn’t work out well with the sweltering summer heat.
Laughing, the actress revealed that her dress would fog up from her sweat.
Min Hyo Rin also talked a bit about her current concept, which is ‘mystery.’ Her agency told her to spare her words when in public in order to keep up an air of mystery. Min Hyo Rin took the concept to heart even in her auditions for movies, which eventually led her to becoming eliminated. The director at the time had stated, “If you speak so little at an audition, how am I supposed to know anything about you?!”

On the February 10th episode of KBS 2TV’s “Happy Together 3“, SM Entertainment labelmates guested on the show together and revealed their awkward relationships with one another.
The MCs asked their guests to pick a person who they felt the most awkward being in the same room with, and why. f(x)’s Krystal began, “Even now, it’s kind of…“, and chose TVXQ’s Changmin.
“Why is it so awkward,” the MCs asked. Changmin replied, “When I was a trainee, Krystal wasn’t in the company yet.  She joined after I debuted, so we never had the opportunity to bump into one another.”
Krystal added, “I think Changmin oppa is the type that’s hard to get close with.”
Hilariously, Onew immediately suggested a ‘5 second stare’ on the spot.  The two agreed, and demonstrated how painfully awkward it was between them. When asked about how it went, Krystal stated, “This is the first time I saw him up close like this.  I think his double eyelids are very thick.”
Changmin replied, “I think her eyes are pretty,” causing everyone to express their hopes in the two getting closer.
As for fellow member Yunho, he revealed, “I don’t think I’m awkward with anyone in particular.” But he received a surprise when Luna and Sulli chose him in the end, leading the MCs to burst out into laughter while pointing out, “Maybe it’s only you that feels comfortable!”
Source: Newsen via Nate via allkpop
f(x)’s Sulli was first asked to choose “which oppa was the best in TVXQ“, to which she replied, “I joined the company as a trainee when I was in 5th grade. I thought Yunho oppa was extremely cool, but he didn’t respond that often when I greeted him and he was very quiet, so I began to like Changmin oppa more since he greeted me so warmly.”
Krystal also revealed, “When I saw Yunho oppa for the first time, his hair was divided into a 5:5 part, which left quite the impression. It really wasn’t that cool. One day, though, he suddenly became very cool-looking, but I think he’s still just as quiet as ever.”
Fellow TVXQ member Changmin also joined in the discussion by adding, “My first impression of this person was really not that great. The first thing he told me was, ‘If you don’t have the confidence to last here, just leave right now.’ I remember thinking that he was really cocky.”
MC Yoo Jae Suk asked Yunho, “Why were you so unresponsive to your juniors?” Yunho replied, “During my trainee years, I went through about four groups, all of which eventually disbanded. I was really affectionate towards them, but they’d eventually leave the company once I felt I got closer, and others would give up their training. I was very hurt by that.”
He continued, “I do, however, hear that I look very cold because of my physical appearance.” Changmin agreed, but he added, “When you get to know hyung, he actually has a lot of aegyo. He’s very warm and genuine.”

SHINee’s Onew previously headlined for possessing a powerful special skill, and he showed off its force once more while guesting on the February 10th episode of Happy Together 3“.
MC Yoo Jae Suk expressed his curiosity about Onew’s ‘ddak-bam‘ skills, and wanted to experience it for himself. (‘Ddak-bam‘ means to give a clout on someone’s forehead by either flicking one’s middle finger against their thumb, or by pulling back the middle finger and snapping it)
f(x)’s Luna attempted to stop Yoo Jae Suk from asking, as she explained, “He’s really strong, it really hurts when you get hit by it!”
Onew decided to give a demonstration first by breaking a walnut and a gourd, much to Jae Suk’s horror. He immediately turned to directors and exclaimed, “Why didn’t you tell me the reality of his power!”
Unfortunately, Yoo Jae Suk had to go through with the ‘ddak-bam‘, which resulted in an ugly red mark on his forehead. The MC felt a little sulky about being the only one who had to endure the pain, so he convinced fellow gagman Park Myung Soo to try it for himself.
The gagman crumbled on the spot. Park Myung Soo described the pain as being similar to getting hit by a car, “I feel like I just got into a huge car accident!”
