Min Hyo Rin recently sat down and showed a new side of herself with a new interview regarding the struggles that individuals in the entertainment industry often face. Speaking on behalf of Korea’s Suicide Prevention Campaign, the singer and actress revealed discussed these serious issues in depth.

- What is your opinion on committing suicides and why do you think they happen?
▶There is nothing more tragic than someone committing a suicide. You need a lot of courage to do something like that, and I think with that courage, instead, you can overcome your sadness and trouble.
Everyone thinks about wanting to die at some point in life. Though it is only momentary, some people cannot handle it and unfortunately commit suicide. It’s very important to move beyond such point.
- There are celebrities who make such tragic decisions. What do you think is the reason behind that?
▶In reality, one is very vulnerable to depression when you work in this industry. When you get a new project to work on or what kind of reactions you receive from people around you… really every single thing affects you mentally and psychologically. I think that’s why some celebrities make tragic decisions…especially those with sensitive personalities.
-Did you ever go through a painful time when you wanted to give up on life?
▶I also once suffered from depression. It was not a serious one, but I have thought about dying. I did not attempt suicide, however I did want to give up on everything. ‘What am I doing right now’, I thought. ‘Would it be better to just give up?’. It was something which everyone thinks about at one point.
-How did you overcome that?
▶I thought about my parents and their faces at that moment. I thought about my relatives and friends. I instantly thought about how tormented my parents would be, how sad my friends will be and that is when I thought ‘I should not be sad like this’ and immediately felt that these dark thoughts were foolish. There is nothing more shameful than dying earlier than your parents. Even the slightest abuse against my body becomes shameful when I think of my parents.
-What would you like to say to those who are considering committing a suicide?
▶Before you make such decision, please look around you; Your parents, relatives, friends and everyone who is connected to you.
When you commit a suicide, it is not only you who will be affected. Just imagine what your loved ones and acquaintances will have to go through. Even, there are sometimes cases when someone commits a suicide because his or her loved one recently did as well. Suicide does not mean an end but the start of another pain and sadness.
-What are your future plans?
▶Currently, I’m in the process of filming “Gone with the Wind”, where I will be a main character with actor Cha Tae Hyun. I play an important part in the story and I’ve been filming with lots of excitement. It will be released next year, and I hope to show great work.
12 August:
On August 12th, Min Hyo Rin took her driving test at the Kangnam driver’s license test center. However, for the second time, Min Hyo Rin was unable to pass the test.
Officials of her agency stated, “She took the test today, but the results were not good. She practiced when she had time, but it looks like driving is quite difficult.”
He added, “She is very motivated to obtain her driver’s license, so next time, I feel that she will definitely pass the test.”
Who would’ve thought… Min Hyo Rin seemed to drive just fine in Song Ji Eun’s MV for “Going Crazy“, although she did blow the car up.
Meanwhile, Min Hyo Rin recently appeared in the drama ‘Romance Town‘ and received much love for her outgoing character.
26 July:
On July 24th, we reported that singer Jay Park confessed he would like to couple up with Min Hyo Rin on ‘We Got Married’ during an interview on MBC’s ‘Section TV Entertainment News‘. As soon as this tidbit hit the fan, Min Hyo Rin started to gain lots of attention.
On the 26th, an official from Star Fox Media, Min Hyo Rin’s agency, revealed, “We received an offer from ‘We Got Married’ around this time last year, but circumstances did not work out.”
The official added, “Jay Park revealed through the media that he would like to shoot ‘We Got Married’ with Min Hyo Rin. She does have a schedule during the latter part of this year, but if an offer comes in, we will positively take it under consideration.”
Starting in August, Min Hyo Rin will be shooting a movie – her second in a long line of projects she’s been tackling this year. Thanks to her work in the KBS2TV drama ’Romance Town‘ and the film ‘Sunny‘, the actress has been receiving many love calls to appear in CFs, dramas, and movies.

Actress Min Hyo Rin revealed a photoshoot of her recent vacation in Hong Kong for her fans, showing that even the most mundane activities of her day-to-day life were amazing enough to be considered photoshoot quality.
With comfortable attire and minimal make-up, she took to the streets of the bustling city and still managed to shine with her beauty.

Min Hyorin has been selected to be the first Korean model for makeup brand, ‘Banilaco‘.
A representative from Banilaco commented, “As a fashion and beauty icon, Min Hyorin is stylish and has a professional image that can represent Banilaco well; therefore we have selected her to be our first Korean model.”
Min Hyorin said, “I’ve enjoyed using Banilaco’s products for a long time, and I’m glad to become a model for them.” She continued,“I will show a more professional and trendy image by being a model for Banilaco.”
The actress will model the brand’s popular skincare products, including primers, BB creams, and much more.
Meanwhile, Min Hyorin is currently an MC for Mnet’s “Trendy Report Feel“; she is also waiting for the official premiere of her new movie, “Sunny“, in April.
