26 Mar:

Singer Younha wants to meet U.S. president, Barack Obama.
President Barack Obama is in South Korea to attend the second Nuclear Security Summit which takes place in Seoul on March 26th and 27th.
On the first day at around 10:20 AM, in the Minerva Auditorium of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Obama was scheduled to give a speech about ‘Korea’s role in the International Community‘.
Younha who recently graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies was thrilled about the news and left a tweet stating, ”Woah! Obama’s speech about foreign studies.  I just graduated… Oh well, it must be hard to get in even if you’re a current student“.
Out of the 20,000 plus attending the school, only 700 students had the privilege of being allowed in the auditorium to listen to President Obama and also ask him questions.

18 October:
Singer Younha who is currently battling a lawsuit with her agency Lion Media will return to court on the 28th.

According to Seoul Central District Court, Younha and Lion Media will both appear in court on October 28th at 2:30PM KST.
A representative from Lion Media informed TVReport on the 18th, “It is true that the court date has been confirmed for the 28th… we are currently still in the process of negotiations and therefore cannot release any detailed information. Due to conflicting opinions, we are forced to battle this out in court.
The court attempted three different times to mediate conflicts between Younha and her agency, Lion Media, but the two parties could not come to a consensus. Younha took legal action against her agency stating she wanted to be reimbursed the $348,000 that she was not properly paid.
Lion Media responded with a countersuit demanding $87,000 for loss & damages they suffered after Younha’s sudden breach of contract.

12 october:

On October 12th, the court attempted for the third time to mediate conflicts between Younha and her agency, Lion Media, but unfortunately met with failure once again.
Both parties appeared in front of the Seoul Central District Court in an attempt to come to an agreement with regards to a lawsuit Younha filed against Lion Media (Lion Media had responded with a countersuit).
Dressed in a black suit, Younha appeared looking very dejected. The one-hour long arbitration required that both parties take turns every 10 minutes to submit their opinions to the court. Afterwards, both parties were brought in to discuss the possibility of a settlement.
Younha was seen coming out of the room to have a moment to herself. Collecting both hands in front of her as she sat in a chair, she tried to calm down her nervous feelings. Unfortunately, the pressure seemed to be too much for her, as she eventually apologized to reporters and her staff with a short, “I’m sorry,” and burst into tears.
Lion Media’s lawyers spoke with reporters after the meditation and stated, “Both parties tried very hard to work on the differences in opinions, but it seems a battle in the court is unavoidable at this point. Younha’s representatives are adamant about their positions, leaving no room for us to work with. We, too, do not want to give in.”
Younha’s lawyers stated, “We have nothing to say. It’s a sensitive issue and we promise to put out a statement as soon as everything’s resolved.”

21 September:

On September 21st, Younha and her lawyers attended a mediation session with her agency, Lion Media, at the 373th Seoul Central District Court to discuss a solution to their two lawsuits.
Earlier this year, Younha had filed a lawsuit against Lion Media asking to terminate her contract with the agency because the terms which she had signed under were unfair and exploited the fact that she was young and naive about the industry. They had also failed to properly reimburse her wages.
Lion Media followed by filing a countersuit for $1 million USD for breached contract damages.
While they agreed to mediation, the two parties were unfortunately unable to close the gap between the differences in their opinions.  Still, both parties expressed a desire in working things out positively.
Through Star News, representatives of Lion Media revealed, “We’re all trying very hard to resolve this.  Aside from legal action, we’re trying to work this out through conversations.  We will work to steer this in a positive direction.”

23 August:
Last month, singer Younha announced that she’d be suing her agency, Lion Media, in addition to terminating her contract with them due to its questionable validity.

On August 23rd, the Seoul Central District Court revealed to Star News that Lion Media would be counter-suing the singer for $1 million USD.
The court explained, “Younha’s agency, Lion Media, has filed a counter suit against Younha for $ 1 million USD to recover damages they suffered from Younha’s breach of contract.”
Younha’s legal team team responded, “When Younha signed, she was merely a 15 year old minor who knew nothing of the realities of the industry. She signed an exclusive contract with unfair terms.”

Younha’s representatives explained, “Younha’s contract included unfair terms where she was only receiving 10% of her digital sales. Lion Media also failed to distribute her income properly and also forced her to release albums that weren’t completed fully due to lack of budgets, impacting her musical career.”
They continued, “At the end of 2008, she was diagnosed with shingles but forced to continue promoting while holding back her pain. Despite being hospitalized in January of 2010 for laryngitis, Lion Media failed to cancel her scheduled activities, forcing her to lip sync on stage.”
The two parties will be opening a mediation meeting on September 21st.

Younha is dressed chicly in black and white, with boots and a matching hat. Meanwhile, the A Pink members look adorable in their pink and purple ensembles with their high white heels.
After the broadcast, Younha said, “I should have been prepared but I left my 13cm heels behind because it was raining. I saw some pictures and the height difference was worse than I had imagined.
Netizens said, “You’re cute even if you’re short, Younha unnie,” “No, you’re cuter because you’re short,” “A Pink members really look like dolls,” and “Short and tall, both have their charms.”

13 June:

Singer Younha recently covered 2NE1’s ‘Lonely‘ on her radio program, ‘Younha’s Starry Night.’
On the 11th, Younha sang 2NE1’s latest hit and received a lot of attention for her cover. While the original track is sung with much rawness and power by CLMinzySandara Park, and Park Bom, Younha covers the song with a subtle sweetness, bringing about a much different tone to the song.
We all know that nothing quite beats the original but Younha’s cover was brilliantly done. Do you think that Younha did the song justice?

22 Maret: On March 22nd, singer Younha released her latest digital track, “It’s Beautiful“, as a part of Laneige’s “Be Waterful” campaign.

Netizens remarked that Younha’s crystal-clear sound matched well with the brand’s advertisement, which also starred actress Song Hye Gyo.
Produced by Mad Soul Child’s Jinshil, ”It’s Beautiful” is a modern rock track with pop influences that lend a romantic feel to the song.

Hilariously, there was a minor incident after the digital single was released on March 22nd, as

there was a typo of her name in the original album cover. Younha even tweeted in jest, “Who is

YUNHA?” and “Give me back ‘O’ LOL.” A new album cover has since been uploaded to reflect the real name.
