Rainbow‘s Jisook and Woori will be opening for the Doosan Bears on May 30.

The two members of Rainbow will pitch and bat to give the game, being held at Seoul’s Jamshil Stadium, a festive start. Woori commented, “It’s an honor, and I also feel a bit of pressure opening the baseball game for the Doosan Bears, who I believe is the most popular team among female [fans of baseball]. However, I want to practice hard and show the best opening possible.”
Jisook also shared, “I’m so happy, nervous, and anxious to be invited to a Doosan Bears game, but I want to leave a performance with Woori unni that will [leave an impression].”

7-member girl group Rainbow will join the onslaught of girl group comebacks this summer.

Rainbow who rose to fame with songs such as “A“, “Mach“, “To Me“, and more will be making a comeback this summer, a year after releasing ‘Sweet Dream‘ last June.
A representative from the girls’ agency DSP Media informed StarN on May 25th, “Rainbow will be making a Korean comeback as early as July or August.”
According to the representative, this comeback will be for the entire team, and not just their subgroup ‘Rainbow Pixie‘.
Though Rainbow Pixie received interest for their “Hoi Hoi” promotions, the girls will be promoting as an entire team to give back to their fans who have been patiently waiting for them during their hiatus. Their agency explained that the girls are busy at work recording their new album, and they are meticulously selecting their title song and subtracks, as it is their first comeback in a long while.
Their title song has not yet been determined, so we cannot explain what kind of concept it will be just yet,” the rep continued. “However, it will be full of colors that are characteristic of Rainbow.”
Meanwhile, Rainbow has performed well on the Japanese charts with songs such as “A“, “Mach“, and more.

At the end of February, RAINBOW released the full MV for their latest track, “Gonna Gonna Go!“ in Japan! Now the girls have released the dance version of their music video.
“Gonna Gonna Go!” is RAINBOW’s third Japanese single and first Japanese original, and was on March 14th, ranking on Oricon’s Top 10 in the first day of it’s release.

Since March 17th, Rainbow has greeted 3,400 Japanese fans at their fan meetings to celebrate the release of their 3rd Japanese single “Gonna Gonna Go!“.
On March 17th, 2,100 fans showed up to see Rainbow at the Tokyo Fashion Town Hall and an additional 1,300 fans showed up the next day in Osaka Business Park Hall.
During the events, the members of Rainbow stamped their personally-designed stamps for the fans and also shook their hands to show their gratitude for their support. This event was for their 3rd Japanese single release and only those who purchased the CD could attend the fan meetings.
Jaekyung (23) who designed the stamp with her own kiss mark, commented, “I ‘kissed’ all the fans that came to see us today. It made me so happy to be able to see the their smiles.”
In related news, Rainbow’s Japanese single “Gonna Gonna Go!” placed in the top 10 on the Oricon daily charts.

Korean pop group Rainbow has just announced on their official Japanese website that they will releasing their third Japanese single “Gonna Gonna GO!“.
“Gonna Gonna GO!” is their first original Japanese song and will be released on March 14th. The song is described as a positive message where girls don’t give up and move forward!
The single will come in three versions: Type A, Type B, and Type C. Type’s A & B (tentative) will include a DVD and Type C will be a CD Only with a bonus track “Hoi Hoi” by RAINBOW’s subunit ‘RAINBOW PIXIE‘.

Pop group Rainbow is back with a Japanese MV teaser for their new song, “Mach“.
“Mach” was originally released in Korean, but the girls modified it for their Japanese audience. They’ve created a brand new music video with a motorcycle motif to reflect the futuristic sound of their track.
Their single is scheduled to come out on December 7th.

15 September:

Girl group Rainbow are enjoying a successful debut in Japan!
On September 14th, the seven-membered group released their first Japanese single, “A“, which snagged the #3 spot on the Oricon Daily Singles chart. It’s landed them a forerunner position not only amongst local artists in Japan, but also amidst their Korean peers in the industry.
On the same day, the girls went to the Tokyo Ikebukuro for their first event, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of 2,000 fans. The girls performed “A” and had a 15-minute talk session.
A related source revealed, “2,000 people showed up for an event at a venue that technically held a capacity for 1,500.”
They continued, “The girls sold 10,141 copies of the album and came in third place after two popular Japanese artists. This is higher than SNSD and KARA‘s Japanese debut singles.”

Rainbow‘s official facebook page has shared a hilarious video for their fans.
On September 4th, Rainbow’s official facebook page uploaded a rehearsal video of the girls going through the motions for ‘A‘. Near the end of the performance, Jaekyung‘s shoe comes flying off and hit’s the ceiling which drew much laughter from all the Rainbow members.

3 September:

In the coming weeks, girl group Rainbow will be officially beginning debut promotions for their first Japanese single, “A“.
Rainbow departed for Tokyo on September 3rd, where they will be completing their final, last minute preparations before the official release of “A” on September 14th.  A total of 20 mega electronic display boards and billboards advertising Rainbow’s upcoming album have already been installed on the busiest streets of Shibuya, Tokyo.
Around 50 fans were present at the Haneda Airport to welcome the girls’ arrival.  Many fans even following them throughout the night as they headed out to restaurant for dinner and their hotel rooms.
Rainbow has already been garnering hot interest for their music even before their official debut. Rainbow’s “A” reportedly placed #1 on Japan’s biggest online ringtone chart, Rekochoku, on August 31st, the same day of the ringtone’s release.
From September 4th onwards, Rainbow will be taking part in various media interviews, broadcast appearances and album release events as part of their vigorous Japanese promotion schedule.

Following their cafe outing earlier in the week, the Rainbow members recently took an outing to an art gallery!

Through their official Facebook page, the Rainbow members revealed some fun pictures that they took at an art gallery.
Amongst their tight schedule in preparation for their Japanese debut, the girls found a free day where the all the members had a chance to visit the art gallery. The members recently had a lot of interest in cartoon characters and wanted to see them depicted as art pieces. Upon hearing that there was an exhibition with cartoon characters, the members were excited to visit the art gallery.
Rainbow stated, “We really wanted to visit an art gallery but more prominent art is a little bit too much for us. As we were looking for art galleries, we found this exhibition. We had a good time because we already know the cartoon characters. It’s also interesting to see the artist show a different meaning and sides to the characters. It feels as though all of our stress went away after this visit.”.

Girl group Rainbow have taken a break from their hectic schedules to go out on a cafe date!

On August 28th, Rainbow updated their official Facebook with a picture of themselves at a cafe.
The girls wanted to recharge after running through their tight schedules, and so they decided to enjoy the afternoon drinking refreshing juices while hanging out happily together.
Rainbow stated, “It was so good and happy to have all the members meet for a break together. It is a special time for us. We talked about our future plans and how we can be a big help for one another.”

Girl group Rainbow are gearing up for their debut in Japan, and a short preview of their first music video has finally been revealed!
Rainbow will debut with their hit track, “A“, and it looks like they’ll be bringing back the sexy ‘abs dance’ that was banned back home. Japanese entertainment program ‘Oha!4‘ briefly interviewed the girls, in addition to covering the filming process on-set.

On August 3rd, DSP Media launched Rainbow’official Japanese homepage in preparation for the girls’ impending debut in Japan.

The homepage contains information about their upcoming debut single, “A“, as well as never-before-seen photos. The site will serve as a platform of communication between the members and their new fans.
Rainbow have already acquired a strong fanbase, thanks to their connection with sister group KARA. They’ve also earned a warm welcoming from the Japanese press with their performances in ‘Music Bank in Tokyo‘ and the ‘Love 1 Festival’.
Rainbow stated, “We will be sharing news about our promotions and various pictures and videos through our homepage to better communicate with our fans. We’re glad that we have our own homepage and promise to visit it often to update our fans with good news.”

On July 10th, representatives of DSP Media revealed that Rainbow would be wrapping up promotions for their second mini-album this week.
The girls will be performing for the final time on today’s episode of SBS’s ‘Inkigayo‘, thereby concluding three months of promotions.
Rainbow will be finalizing their album jacket photoshoot and music video filming for their Japanese debut track – revealed to be a Japanese version of “A” – within the month.
The track will be promoted on the July 13th episode of KBS’s ‘Music Bank in Tokyo‘, as well as through the ‘Love One‘ concert in Chiba on July 30th. The girls are slated for an official debut in September.

Rainbow previously announced that they’d be making their Japanese debut with a “A” in September, and it seems famous Japanese composer Daishi Dance will be at the forefront of their promotions.
Daishi Dance is known for having produced the girls’ two latest hits, “To Me” and “Sweet Dream“, but he’s doing more than just composing their songs. Not only is he introducing Rainbow to other top Japanese producers, but also on his own personal blogs, which is viewed by the thousands.
Ever since the release of “To Me”, he’s played Rainbow’s songs at all of his club performances in over 20 different clubs. There are still 150 club schedules lined up, and he’s promised to play Rainbow’s hits at all of them. His club performances bring in an audience of 500 to 3,000 people, so the opportunity is definitely a precious one for the girls.
Daishi Dance said, “Rainbow’s songs are pop but still have that club music flavor, so they garner an explosive response in the club. It’s hard to get a response from anyone if your name isn’t that well known, so I think it’s Rainbow’s ability to combine pop and dance music that really drives their popularity.”

Rainbow recently revealed their special ‘Rainbow pancakes’ to fans through their Facebook.

On June 27th, the girls revealed surprise pictures of themselves eating pancakes that they cooked themselves on their official Facebook account. In the pictures, Rainbow is seen cooking traditional Korean pancakes in their practice room.
The whole pancake making process is captured, as is the girls enjoying their fun moment together.
Rainbow added cute descriptions to the pictures, such as, “Yum yum~ Jaekyung is going to eat them all~ Kimchi yum yum” and “Jisook will eat them all!

The ladies of Rainbow recently made a gorgeous comeback with “Sweet Dream“, and although it’s been difficult for international fans to hunt down their performances because of the videos being flagged down, they’ll be glad to see a new set of beautiful photos from the girls.

On June 25th, Jaekyung tweeted four new pictures of her and maknae Hyunyoung with the caption, “With maknae just after MBC’s ‘Music Core‘!  Wait!  Try to find hidden No Eul!”
Fans can spot a peek of No Eul’s face behind the two girls with a playful victory sign next to their heads.

After teasing us earlier in the week, the colorful ladies of Rainbow have officially released the re-packaged version of their second mini-album, “To Me.“
In conjunction with this release, the MV for their new title track “Sweet Dream” was also revealed. The song was created by Japan’s Daishi Dance with assistance from AP and Park Se Hyun.
The “Sweet Dream” music video was filmed using a special motion control camera (MCC) worth $1 million USD. The camera allows for a natural meshing between the background and the girls even with different angles. The camera’s full potential can be seen in the scene where seven Woori’s appear on screen.
DSP Media explained, “We brought in special equipment like this to really emphasize the fantasy-like atmosphere of the music video.”
The re-packaged album also includes the acoustic version of “Kiss”, as well as a club remix of “To Me.” Rainbow will begin follow-up promotions on the June 23rd episode of Mnet’s “M! Countdown“

Having teased and announced their follow-up promotions for Rainbow’s follow-up track “Sweet Dream” last week, DSP Media has today revealed the MV teaser for it.
The teaser is set in a club setting and features Go Woori rapping as the images flicker between the Rainbow members and 7 Woori doppelgangers before ending on an abrupt note, making for an eerie feel.
“Sweet Dream” is said to be a pop dance track that aims to charm with its sweet, fantasy-like feel.
The girls will begin follow-up promotions on the June 23rd episode of Mnet’s “M! Countdown“.

Yesterday, the ladies of Rainbow unveiled two teaser photos depicting the concept for their follow-up promotions. Today, they’ve confirmed that they will indeed by making their return with “Sweet Dream“!
On June 22nd, the girls will be releasing a re-packaged version of their second mini-album, “To Me“, which includes a new track titled “Sweet Dream”. The song was created by Japan’s Daishi Dance, as well as AP and Park Se Hyun. The pop dance track aims to charm with its sweet, fantasy-like feel.
The girls revealed that the song was originally nominated to be the title track, but they felt that it was better suited as a follow-up instead.
Following the popularity of their ‘black swan’ dance, Rainbow has prepared a new point choreography called the ‘Dragonfly dance’, where the members dance with their eyes closed on stage.
They’ll be performing it for the first time on the June 23rd episode of Mnet’s “M! Countdown“.

On June 16th, a new photo of Rainbow’s Woori and her seven doppelgangers was uploaded onto Rainbow’s official Facebook page, leading fans to speculate that it’s the concept for their follow-up promotions.

Rainbow has announced that they’ve signed on with Japan’s Universal Sigma for their Japanese debut this September!
Though they’ve yet to make their formal debut, the girls are already receiving much attention because they’re the sister group and labelmates to KARA. The girls will be kicking off their official debut with a Japanese remake of their hit track, “A“.
According to DSP Media, the Japanese have taken a lot of interest into the fact that Rainbow’s ‘belly button’ dance was banned on Korean broadcast networks.
Representatives explained, “Because of the restrictions put on girl group outfits and choreography, we were unable to show everything we had prepared. Through their Japanese promotions, however, we will be showing off their ‘belly button’ dance.”
Rainbow is also currently preparing for their follow-up promotions this month, in addition to filming for their debut Japanese music video.

After receiving the opportunity to sing for the drama “Twinkle, Twinkle“, Rainbow has received another opportunity to participate in an OST, this time for “Zoobles“, a global animation.
Rainbow received the opening song – titled “I Love Zoobles” – for the animation and sang it with a cute youthfulness to match the show’s characters. In addition, they sang the ending song as well.
Regarding Rainbow’s participation in the OST, an SBS official stated, “Rainbow was chosen for their bright and youthful image that matched the Zoobles’ characters cute and lovely image… Because of this [and their previous work for OST's], I believe that they are an emerging darkhorse for OST’s.”
Zoobles will be making its first broadcast in Korea on May 18th and will ultimately be played in 10 East Asian regions in the coming months.

1 Mei:On April 29th, the ladies of Rainbow uploaded a five-part series of their “1 Night 2 Days” parody while visiting Jeju Island.

The girls visited the island on April 23rd and 24th for SBS’s “Inkigayo“, and the episodes feature footage from their day-to-day activities during their stay there. Fans can look forward to a lot of fun and personal scene, such as their cart riding, quiz games, and various discussions amongst the girls themselves.
Thanks to the videos’ positive responses, the girls revealed that they’ll be coming up with more clip ideas so that they can communicate closely with their fans on a more frequent basis.

Rainbow recently revealed pictures of their off-stage activities, which earned a gushing response from their fanbase since the images contrast sharply with their bold personas on stage.

In a picture titled ‘Waiting Room Picnic’, JaekyungWooriYoon Hye and Jisook are seen chilling on the floor, surrounded by blankets while chatting and drinking milk.

The ladies of Rainbow have been selected as the idol leaders of the new Hallyu wave! The group was recently featured as the first idol interview on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade’s official blog, “Diplomacy Wing“.

The interview introduced the girls as the first new generation of stars that will be leading the new Hallyu wave, and discussed topics on the the future of Hallyu itself.
Rainbow revealed that they were learning new languages for their international activities, and shared some fun stories involving their international fans.
On being Hallyu stars, the girls stated, “Since our fans nicknamed us ‘hard working idols’, we will always be doing our best. We hope to promote in more countries abroad and raise awareness of Korean and Korean culture.”

13 April:Last week, Rainbow returned to the music scene with their new song “To Me…” from their second mini album.

This behind-the-scenes video takes fans to the set of Rainbow’s “To Me…” MV. The footage reveals that the scene in which the remaining six members come to Woori’s rescue was apparently more difficult than it appears. In the music video, the girls confidently strut down the parking lot in their trendy trench coats and sunglasses, but on set, the girls were fighting the cold by sticking to the war car between takes.

Japan’s Daishi Dance visited Rainbow at their DSP training room on April 11th to show his support for their comeback.

Not only is he the man behind Rainbow’s comeback track, but he’s also known for co-composing Big Bang’s “Haru Haru” as well; consequently, he’s gained quite the following in Korea.
A representative of DSP Media revealed, “Despite his schedule being overloaded with the production of 10 other songs for different artists, he decided to make a last-minute change to his schedule in order to visit and support Rainbow in Korea after he heard that their comeback track was doing well on the charts.”
Photos of his visit was uploaded along with the following messages, “Daishi Dance came to Korea for us ~ ^^” and “The presents Daishi Dance personally prepared for us for our comeback.”
Daishi Dance commented, “Rainbow truly worked hard while I produced the song for them, and I also hear that they’re doing well on the charts. I’d like to thank everyone for showing love towards my song, and I want to thank the ladies of Rainbow as well by embarking on a supportive visit.”

9 April:Back on April 5th, Rainbow released the teaser for their comeback track, “To Me…“, and just moments ago, their music video was unveiled!

In contrast to the ‘blooming flower girl’ concept the members exhibited earlier, Rainbow transformed into sleek and confident women out to take revenge against the man who betrayed them.
As previously reported, their title track was produced by none other than Japan’s Daishi Dance, and since parts of the choreography were reportedly adapted from the international box office hit, “Black Swan“, anticipation is high.

Girl group Rainbow recently unleashed their mini-album “SO女“, and since the release, the girls have been doing well on various music charts.

The ladies of Rainbow got a luxurious sheen to their image, thanks to the seven different types of designer bags used in their upcoming music video

After they released the MV teaser for “To Me yesterday, it was noted that the girls embodied a concept that was completely different from the sweet ‘flower girl’ image seen in their album jacket photo.
In order to transform into ‘luxury girls’, the members were decked out in fancy clothes, makeup, and accessories. Eagle-eyed netizens and fashionistas immediately spotted bags from Balenciaga, Givenchy, Chanel, and Mulberry, amongst many others.
But aside from the bags, luxury cars from Porsche and Audi were also used.
Rainbow expressed, “To exhibit different kinds of charisma, we tried very hard for this shoot. The album jacket and music video’s concepts were different, and our stage and choreography concepts were also constructed differently. We are planning to show Rainbow’s different charms and live up to our name.
Rainbow will release their new album on April 7th, and will have their first comeback stage on the 8th viaKBS’s “Music Bank”.

5 April:On April 5th, Rainbow released their teaser video for their comeback track, “To Me…

Starting with ballet major Go Woori, the teaser goes on to show her landing a punch against John Park(?). The teaser then transitions into the luxurious transformations each of the girls have undergone.
As previously reported, their title track was produced by none other than Japan’s Daishi Dance
Although the teaser exhibits a simple piano melody, fans are already anticipating the full song to be more characteristic of his powerful style.
The girls will be releasing their second mini-album on April 7th, followed by their comeback performance through KBS’s “Music Bank” on the 8th.

4 April:
Ahead of their official comeback, the ladies of Rainbow revealed a special still cut from their upcoming music video that displays their transformations into girls of luxury.

On April 4th, the girls will be unveiling a completely new image through their title track music video, “To Me,” than what was previously shown in concept album jacket photos on the 1st. In “To Me,” the girls will be acting out their revenge against a man that has betrayed them by becoming confident, sleek girls that can fend for themselves in the face of such betrayal.
Their album jacket photos were done under the concept of “girl“, a feminine, coming-of-age theme that emphasized their womanly charms with the use of props like flowers and minimal, natural make up.
Fans immediately took notice of their departure from the strong, sexier image they took on in their previous releases, “A” and “Mach.”
Rainbow commented, “We tried our best in showing a variety of different charms for our upcoming promotions. Our album jacket and music video concepts are both different, so fans can expect another new concept for our stage and choreography as well. Fitting to our name, we’ll be showing off our individual colorful charms.”
As previously reported, their title track, “To Me,” was also produced by one of Japan’s great producers,Daishi Dance. The song features an emotional piano melody with an abundance of power as characteristic of his style.
Fans can look forward to the digital release of “To Me” on the 7th, followed by the album’s full release on the 11th.

Rainbow would be working with Japanese producer Daishi Dance for their return to the music scene. Daishi Dance was able to snap some photos with the girls while working on their title track, “To Me“.

The renown artist commented, “Rainbow is full of personality, and they’re all very good at Japanese. Their interpreter was by their side, but they all knew exactly what was going on at each moment in time.
He continued, “They did so well while recording, and I feel that the song came out incredibly good. I hope to see the girls debut in Japan sometime soon!

Girl group Rainbow has joined forces with one of Japan’s greatest composers/DJs, Daishi Dance, for their upcoming comeback!

On March 23rd, representatives of DSP Media revealed, “Rainbow will be releasing their next mini-album in the beginning of April with a title track by Daishi Dance.”
Daishi Dance is well known in Korea for being the composer behind Big Bang’s hit track, “Haru Haru,” and has experience producing for some of Japan’s biggest names, including Hamasaki Ayumi, SMAP, andNakashima Mika. His own albums have hit #1 on various Japanese dance charts.
The title track he’s produced for the girls is described to be characteristic of his style, with a beautiful piano melody and a powerful energy. 
He’s currently in Korea working with the girls in finalizing their mini-album.
