Fans already knew that she was a bit chubby during her trainee years and that she went through intense dieting before her debut. Since then, she’s been going through the yo-yo effect that naturally comes with dieting. For Rainbow’s “To Me” comeback, however, Hyunyoung revealed that she buckled down with determination to lose it all once and for all.
She shared that she lost 4 kg for “To Me” and an additional 4 kg for “Sweet Dream“, making it a total 8 kg weight loss since their “Mach” promotions. The secret to her weight loss was revealed to be jump roping and hoola hooping for exercise. She also forbids herself from eating four hours before bed.
Hyunyoung said, “It’s nice because I look pretty on screen. I also like how I feel lighter. As it is a result I earned through hard work, I’m not going to let myself go so that I can maintain it.”

The Korea Professional Baseball League is currently a third of the way into the season, and on June 12th, Hyunyoung from Rainbow participated in the opening pitch for the Lotte Giants in their home game against the visiting Hanhwa Eagles at the Sajik Baseball Stadium.
Appointed earlier as the ‘Giants Girl’ to promote the team, Hyunyoung finally took to the mound this afternoon to do the ceremonial opening pitch for the home team.
She was certainly one lucky charm as the Giants overwhelmed the visiting Eagles, 17 to 2!
Rainbow’s Hyunyoung, who’s currently promoting actively as a ‘Giants Girl’, is scheduled to pitch for the Lotte Giants.
The idol will pitch at a game against Hanhwa on June 12th in Busan. She was previously selected as a ‘Giants Girl’ and led the cheering for Lotte during this season.
She cheered on the Lotte Giants players by giving them autographed copies of Rainbow’s new album in April, when the group was carrying out promotions for “TO ME“.
She revealed her hopes for her pitching session, saying, “Female celebrities have been receiving attention for their cool pitches, and I want to be the one throwing the fastest pitch.”
The idol has apparently been practicing hard for her pitch, wanting to surprise the crowd with a fast pitch by making use of her strong shoulders.
Hyunyoung is currently preparing for Rainbow’s Japanese debut, having a busy time filming the jacket cover and the music video for the Japanese version of ‘A‘.
Rainbow is also coming back with their follow-up promotions later this month.

In celebration of the event, Hyunyoung personally handed out autographed Rainbow CDs with the messages, “Lotte, winning this year no matter what ^^” and “Please become the hope to Lotte” to every member on the team.
DSP Media revealed, “She’ll be going down to Busan soon to participate in the games. Hyunyoung can often be seen practicing her pitch on the lawn in front of the company building.”
Hyunyoung is also busily promoting her group’s comeback through various music shows and events.

The Lotte Giants chose Jo Hyun Young as their ‘Giant Girl’, as they believed that her healthy beauty and bright image fit well with their team.
The star commented, “I enjoy baseball on a daily basis, and I’m so thankful for this great opportunity. As the Lotte Giants Girl, I’ll do my best at supporting them diligently and work hard at promotions.”
Jo Hyun Young will begin her activities as a goodwill ambassador through her MC debut at the ‘Lotte Giants 2011 Season Start Ceremony’ on March 27th.
Meanwhile, Rainbow’s gearing up for their comeback in April, and they’ve enlisted the help of famed Japanese producer Daishi Dance for their new album.
