20 July:
Girl group Rania completed a very successful overseas concert in Thailand.
On the 15th, the girls arrived at the Bangkok Airport to start prepping for their promotions there. At the airport, around 200-300 fans showed up to show their support.
This was their first visit to the country and they have never released an album or a song in Thailand so the hot response from the fans wasn’t really expected.
On the 16th, the girls held a showcase with around 500 fans and 100 press people at the Bangkok Novotel Hotel. National networks channel 5 and 7 came to report on the showcase, which gave evidence to the success and scale of the event. The fans sang along in Korean and danced the choreography as well. The members took public transportation via the subway to get to a restaurant, and around 100 fans followed them onto the subway.
Their company DNR Music said, “I think the attention towards Rania went up thanks to sites such as YouTube and Twitter. Also, because member Joy is Thai, the local fans were really interested. Since Joy hasn’t been to Thailand for awhile, she saw her parents this time. We were going to wrap up promotions in four days but because of interviews and additional things, we added three days. We’ve also received four CF endorsement offers from a Thai makeup brand and more.”
Rania also took part for “Music Bank in Japan” on the 13th at Tokyo Dome. They received a lot of praise from music companies such as Victor, SONY, and Universal; they all seemed to be looking to scout the group. They’re scheduled to hold showcases in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Indonesia starting in August.
Their company commented, “They will come back to Korea soon to prepare their second single album. On the 24th, they’re returning to work with a world renown producer.”
11 July:
Rookie girl group Rania recently shared their thoughts on wrapping up their debut promotions and their future plans on heading overseas.
Rania performed their goodbye stages for their follow-up track, “Masquerade“, on all three public music programs last week, starting with KBS “Music Bank” on July 8th and ending with SBS“Inkigayo” on the following Sunday.
During a meeting with TV Daily, Rania expressed, “It’s only been three months since our debut, so to be already wrapping up our promotions is a bit of a strange and saddening feeling.”
As they reflected upon their show of strong and powerful performances through their two tracks “Dr. Feel Good” and Masquerade”, Rania stated, “We want to hear people say, ‘They really are different’. That’s why we need to prepare a lot more for our next album. We will elevate and upgrade to a higher level.”
They continued, “There was a lot of controversy around sexually suggestive content during our initial debut, but for our next album, we want to show music that’s more public-friendly while still maintaining a strong performance”.
Rania will be meeting their Japanese fans at the KBS “Music Bank” special broadcast on July 13th, which will then be followed up by a string of showcases around Southeast Asia.
Rania concluded, “We would like our fans to not forget about us until we make a comeback. We want to return to our fans as a more developed Rania.”

Rania will start with a showcase on July 16th in Bangkok, Thailand, after which, they’ll promote in Cambodia and Singapore for July. In August, they will stop by the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam.

They added, “We already had discussions for a CF contract with a Thai drink and network carriers. The team has a Thai member so they have received a lot of attention from the country.”
11 June:
On June 10th, Rania made their return with their follow-up track, “Masquerade,” on KBS’s “Music Bank.” Following their performance, the girls sat down for an interview with TV Daily and shared their thoughts on their return.
The girls began, “It’s a stage we still feel nervous about, just like our debut. We’re a performance-geared group so we all want to show something amazing. Member T-ae injured her ankle while rehearsing for ‘Masquerade’ so she has to compress it with bandages to perform on stage. It’s really upsetting.”
T-ae revealed, “The choreography for ‘Dr. Feel Good‘ was difficult, but ‘Masquerade’ is even more difficult. I’m receiving treatment at the hospital so I will get better. It’s an injury, but I’m working harder to show that we don’t lack anything as a performance group.”
Rania continued, “We want to show something different from our debut, both in our image and our outfits. There was a sexually suggestive controversy, but we hope that people will take an interest in the concept that we hope to show.”
When asked to describe their style for “Masquerade”, the girls replied, “It’s a lot more detailed than ‘Dr. Feel Good.’ Performing with a mic is definitely harder than before. Through ‘Masquerade’, we hope to show that we have a powerful charm and energize the public as well.”
4 June:
Rookie idol group Rania will be returning to the stage with a follow-up to their debut track, “Dr. Feel Good“.
Rania’s agency, DR Music, recently revealed that Rania will begin promotions for their new song, “Masquerade“, through MTV’s “The Show” on June 7th.
“Masquerade” was written and produced by Teddy Riley, who also produced “Dr. Feel Good” as well. Their debut single contained an English version, but Rania will naturally perform the Korean version instead. The girls are practicing diligently, and plan to introduce a new style to fans.
An official stated, “‘Masquerade’ is a dreamlike song with a strong beat. Rania has prepared choreography that will make a strong impression.”
He added, “We will be making the finishing steps to move forward with promotion activities, starting from ‘The Show’ to Mnet ‘MCountdown‘, KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank‘, MBC’s ‘Music Core‘, and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo‘.”

For the past couple of days, Teddy Riley has been addressing the rumors regarding him leaving Rania through his Twitter. Responding to tweets from both fans and anti-fans, he said that he chose not to leave Rania, but their company.

It’s ok they will regret it.If they leave that company I will sign them quick. Pls know the facts before attacking me. Attack their company.Such great talented will be wasted if they don’t get better support.“

Rania’s debut track, “Dr. Feel Good“, seems to be a hit with the international audience, as it was recently featured in the American Spike TV drama, “Blue Mountain State 2.”
Fans previously heard the song briefly being played on MTV’s “Real World XXV: Vegas“, so this is the second time their song has been aired in the States. In “Blue Mountain State 2″, the song begins playing towards the end of the fifth episode during a high tension club scene.
Representatives of DR Music commented, “On the 17th, we confirmed that the English version of ‘Dr. Feel Good’ was used in ‘Blue Mountain State 2.’ The song is quite trendy and modern so we can see why American drama producers would use it. We’ve heard from representatives in the States that the song will be used in more dramas soon.”
They continued, “K-Pop is being spread all across the world through YouTube, so we’re all looking forward to seeing how it will be used in the movie industry.”
The girls also recently guested on Kim Heechul’s “Young Street” and earned some love from their senior. He tweeted, “I wonder if people know that I, too, feel happy when I see girl groups… On stage, they’re impressive, but off stage, they’re so cute. They’re talented in both singing and dancing. Rania gave me an autograph while calling me ‘Kim Heechul’ senior.”
He continued, “Saem, Di, Jooyi, Joy, Riko, T-ae, Xia!! Like a DJ, I memorized all of their [names] keke.”
3 Mei:
Having just made their debut with “Dr. Feel Good“, Rania has revealed that they will be promoting in Korea for one more month before preparing for their advancement in the U.S. market this June.
Representatives of DR Music spoke through TV Report and stated, “Rania will be focusing on their Korean activities through May before heading over to the States in June.”
Produced by Teddy Riley, music fans were already alerted that this girl group was created with the global market in mind. Considering Teddy Riley’s level of influence in the U.S. market, many are anticipating what the girls will be bringing to the table next.
According to DR Music, Teddy Riley will not be revealing what ethnicity the girls are for their promotions. “Teddy Riley will be promoting the girls through radio broadcast as the focus. The goal is to get into the Billboard, and he’s quite confident that the girls will be able to make it.”
The girls have a busy year lined up, as after their American activities, they’ll be going straight back into their Asian promotions in 10 different countries. Starting from July 9th, the girls will be performing in Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Singapore, before heading to China in September.
“The entire group will not be promoting together. They’ll be dividing into units of three to four members each so they can promote in different countries simultaneously,” representatives explained.
21 April:Despite becoming embroiled in a series of controversies for their provocative concept, rookie girl groupRania chooses to stand by their sexiness despite it all. In their recent interview with JoongAng, the girls refer to it as “their weapon” in surviving the girl group rush.

Q. “From the moment you debuted, you were put on the chopping block for sexually suggestive material.”
Saem: “We received a lot of criticisms for our cleavage and our thighs showing. Still, we don’t think that it’s enough to call it sexually suggestive. We worked so hard on our song and choreography, it filled us with regret to see people accusing us of noise marketing. It couldn’t be helped when we changed up our choreography and our outfits.”
Q. “Is your sexiness a result of effort?”
T-ae: “Our average height is 169 cm, and we’re all very conscious of our bodies (laughter). A while ago, we heard that Tae Kwon Do was good for body management and we all decided to take lessons. One day in the future when we promote overseas, we’d love to introduce Tae Kwon Do to other countries.”
Q. “Teddy Riley, the producer for Michael Jackson, contributed to your debut single.”
Jooyi: “Not only Michael Jackson, but the Spice Girls, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, and other pop singers as well. ’Dr. Feel Good‘ is a hip hop and R&B track with an addictive and strong melody that makes it really sexy. Please look forward to poweful performances that contrast against other cute girl groups.”
Q. “You recorded your album in the States.”
Xia: “It took us about two weeks. It was very surprising for us as well because so many popular artists went in and out of the studio. One day, Puff Daddy’s twin daughters would come in with their mother. They were about five years old and had pig tails that were so adorable. They greeted us with shy ‘hellos’.”
Q. “How would you describe the strength of Rania?”
T-ae: “Out of our four years of training, we spent three of them specifically on our vocal training. That’s how focused we were with our vocals. We’re very prepared performance-wise, and of course, we’re confident that our visuals aren’t lacking compared to other girl groups as well (laughter).”
Q. “There are a lot of members with unique backgrounds.”
Riko: “I used to be a child actress and played the younger roles for Kang Soo Yeon, Kim Hee Sun, Bae Doo Na, and Kim Gyuri. During high school, I also taught Korean on Japan’s NHK for three years.”
Joy: “I’m from Thailand. My father’s a general and he was really against me going all the way to Korea to become a singer. After he found out that I was genuine, he finally let me pursue it.”
Q. “Baby V.O.X. is your senior, since you’re under DR Music, right?”
Di: “The day before our debut showcase, we heard that senior Kim EZ had a baby. Such good luck for us, right? Kan Mi Youn senior supports us as well, and Yoon Eun Hye senior said she’d support us aggressively. We’re all very thankful.”
Rania’s been making waves ever since their debut earlier this month, but it seems like they weren’t turning heads in the Korean music pool alone.
Recently, fans caught the group’s title track, “Dr. Feel Good“, being played during the first episode of MTV’s “Real World XXV: Vegas“. Fitting perfectly with the song’s provocative lyrics, “Dr. Feel Good” was laid over some hot scenes of the cast members engaging in some scandalous activities.
Although the song was made for the K-pop scene, the music surprisingly fits right in with American reality TV.
The song starts at 22:28, so check it out here!
16 April:On April 13th, three members from rookie girl group Rania shared charming photos of themselves together in various poses.
Through Rania’s official Twitter, the girls tweeted, “The three beauties.”
Unlike the provocative and sexy image the girls have shown on stage with their debut track, “Dr. Feel Good”, the three members pictured above – Riko, Dee, and T-ae - are actually in their late teens and early 20s. Netizens all agreed that the girls actually held an image that was closer to sweet and lovely than fierce and sexy.
Fans commented, “It feels so different seeing them like this”, and “They’re so lovely and cute!”
15 April:
Girl group Rania has been headlining for their racy choreography and look, which they were able to deliver in its original form for their “M! Countdown” debut on April 14th. However, they were forced to switch up some parts after KBS announced that they would not allow girl groups to go up on stage if they were deemed as too “provocative”. Raina ended up fixing a total of 10 parts that KBS had problems with, so that they could make their appearance today.
Starting with their outfits, Raina’s garter belts were taken out, and a cloth will be replacing the area that exposes their cleavage. The girls will also be wearing leggings with their skirts/shorts.
In addition, Rania decided to take out the more sexy parts of their dance, and replace it with a 25-second long high note to emphasize their vocal talents.
Their agency, DR Music, explained, “It’s upsetting that we can’t show everything we prepared, but we feel that it’s actually a great opportunity to show that the girls have what it takes to succeed with skill.”
Commenting on the drastic choreography changes, the representatives continued, “Teddy Riley fully believes that choreography and outfit is a major part of a performance. He directed both concepts, and when told of the restrictions the girls were facing in Korea, he said that it could not be helped. He did not, however, agree to the views.”
They continued, “Teddy Riley said that in order for K-Pop to advance more quickly into other parts of the world, such restrictions must be lifted and put in a positive light.”
13 April:After much anticipation, the ladies of Rania finally make their debut last week on Music Bank. With their arrival to the music scene the group has been generating a lot of buzz, both good and bad.
Recently, a behind the scenes video with Rania while recording “Dr. Feel Good” was uploaded on the internet.
This is a good opportunity to hear the girls talented voices without the music as a back track, check it out below!

As the controversy surrounding the sexually suggestive content of girl group dances continues to heat up,Rania has revealed that it won’t be a problem for them, as they’ve prepared several different versions of their choreography.
A representative of Rania spoke through OSEN and stated, “Rania has been preparing for four years to debut. They already have several different performance versions for their debut track, ‘Dr. Feel Good‘. We already meant to show off different versions for each broadcast performance, so the obstacle of broadcast networks asking us to edit our choreography is not a problem at all.”
He continued, “It is upsetting that we aren’t able to show the choreography that we feel best fits the song, but we will be changing it up so that this new version will still hold the same intent.”
When asked about their outfits, he replied, “We will be making changes to the girls’ tops. We’re just glad that they are more than prepared for all of the changes they’re facing, despite it being their debut.”
9 April:Ever since girl group Rania finally unveiled themselves earlier this week, the topic of their provocative choreography and stage outfits became the most debated issue amongst K-Pop fans. Although they debuted on Mnet yesterday, they still have three more public broadcast programs to go, leading many to wonder how they’ll fare with KBS, MBC, and SBS’s strict regulations.
On April 8th, a representative of DR Music responded to the concerns through BNT News by stating, “First of all, thank you for your interest in Rania’s debut. We did not intend for this controversy to occur. As the song itself is composed by a foreign producer, we merely came up with a choreography and wardrobe that best fit to the song’s concept.”
They continued, “Even without such a controversy, Rania is a talented group in terms of vocal skills, so we’re very upset that this is occurring.”
When asked about the girls’ debut on “Music Bank” today, he revealed, “We have already finished the dry rehearsal. The amount of skin exposure is about the same as Mnet yesterday, but we’ve put the focus on a jacket with accessories. We’ve already produced the outfits prior to their debut, so we cannot change anything just for their public broadcast debuts.”
When asked if they would change their choreography or outfits if requested by KBS, he replied, “It’s upsetting, but because Rania is a rookie girl group, we are willing to change it up to a certain point if they become a problem.”
8 April:Globally-renowned producer Teddy Riley’s group Rania has finally been unveiled.
Rania held their debut stage following a showcase on the 6th at Hong Dae V Hall in Seoul.
Rania is a massive-girl group trained by DR Music President Yoon Deung Ryong, who previously stirred up the Korean Wave with BabyVOX. The group has also been gathering attention partly because producer Teddy Riley, who have produced hits for pop stars like Michael Jackson and Black Street, had produced the tracks for Rania for their debut.
At the showcase, the 7-international members performed their debut song ‘Dr. Feel Good.’
The song has been written by Teddy Riley, and it is a trendy pop style that combines hip hop and R&B. The Members, wearing tank tops and tight skirts, made a powerful impression with provocative choreography and shocking stage directions.

“They trained for 4 years,” said Rania’s agency. “So they put in their all for the showcase. Rania members can all sing and dance, so they’ve been praised as an unusual rookie. We’ll try our best to make them become the best with vocal skills and visual.”
The members also added, “First, we want to be loved in Korea and then in Asia and the U.S. as well.”
Rania is a 7-member girl group with members, Semi, Riko, Jui, Di, Joy, T-ae, and Xia. Among them, Joy is from Thailand and dreams of becoming ‘the second Nichkhun.’ Riko is Korean but grew up and was educated in Japan. All 7-members are said to be fluent in Korea, English, Chinese, Thai and Japanese.
At the showcase, Producer Teddy Riley sent a video message about the group.
In the video, he said “I want to introduce Rania to the American market. I’m going to develop them into a global girl group like the Spice Girls and Pussycat Dolls.
Riley also added, “Both of my songs for Rania were originally given to Lady Gaga. They are powerful songs featuring the mix of hip hop and R&B styles.”
The members stayed in Los Angeles for quite some time working on the album.
Although Riley was busy working on Michael Jackson’s legacy album, Riley took control of Rania’s music, stage concepts, choreography and costumes.
Following their showcase on the 4th, Rania will perform debut case on ‘Mnet Countdown’ on the 7th, KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ on the 8th, and SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 10th.
6 April:After generating much buzz through Jay Park’s “Hype Nation” last year, the ladies of Rania have finally revealed themselves through their debut single, “Dr. Feel Good“.
The girls were co-produced by Teddy Riley and DR Music, the label behind the hit girl group, Baby V.O.X.The two are reportedly ready to make their mark on the Hallyu wave once more.
The album was produced in three months at a studio in Los Angeles, and despite being busy preparing forMichael Jackson’s posthumous album, Teddy Riley took the time to direct everything from their music, stage concept, choreography, and outfits.
The group is comprised of Semi, Riko, Jui, Dee, Joy, T-ae and Xia; Joy is from Thailand, and Riko is a Korean-Japanese. The girls are reportedly fluent in English, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean.
