Club MRoot

9 April:Mnet would be launching a new music show specifically for indie musicians called “Club MRoot” in order to give underrated bands an opportunity to converse more directly with the public.

The March 30th episode included performances by 10cm and monni, which was followed by performances by Mate and No Reply on April 6th.

Held at Hongade’s ‘Club 500′, the concerts managed to garner over a 200-member audience. This event was particularly special because this was also Mate’s final performance before member Im Hun Il enlists in the army in the coming months.

Starting this week, cable channel Mnet will be airing a new music show for indie musicians called “Club MRoot“!

“Club MRoot” will going to concerts and live performances from some of the most representatives indie bands in the Hongade music scene; they’ll be covering a wide variety of genres from modern rock to folk.  The program aims to act as a communication medium between the indie scene and the mainstream public.

Director Hong Soo Hyun of Mnet commented, “Indie bands do not have much of an opportunity to appear on broadcast music programs. Through this program, we hope to spotlight indie bands in Hongdae’s band culture and give them an opportunity to converse more directly with the public.”
Airing for the first time on March 30th, the program will air weekly on Wednesdays at 12:00 AM KST.  The line-up for the pilot episode includes 10cm and monni, with special guest appearances by movie directorsYang Ik Jun and Lee Hae Young.
