KIMCHI

5 June:
On Saturday, 4th June 2011 Super Junior came to Indonesia for the first time. They came as guest stars for Korean Idols Music Concert Hosted in Indonesia (KIMCHI). The concert started at 6 PM, and there were several performers who performed before Super Junior. Then finally it’s time for Super Junior.

All Indonesian ELF chanted their names. The first song that they sang was Bonamana, and then No Other. Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk replaced Siwon’s part in Bonamana. During No Other, Leeteuk shouted “Assalamualaikoom”. There was also Minwook moment, where Ryeowook pretended to slap his hyung, then laughed after that.
During the introductions, Kyuhyun said “Apa kabar? I’m Kyuhyun” and Donghae said “Apa kabar? Nama saya Donghae”. Eunhyuk said “Hello sayang. You are gorgeous. I’m gorgeous”. Ryeowook did his famous greeting “Hello I’m Ryeowook (in Korean)”. Super Junior leader said “Assalamualaikoom” but he said he couldn’t hear our reply so Leeteuk said it once again. Then he said “Assalamualaikoom. Nama saya Leeteuk. Saya suka Indonesia. Saya suka Indonesia gadis” (Assalamualaikoom. My name is Leeteuk. I love Indonesia. I love Indonesian girls). Then they called Zhoumi and Henry to join them. Henry mentioned about a concert in Indonesia. Leeteuk also asked Donghae if he wanted to stay one more night. Donghae said he wants to see “Gadis Indonesia”. Leeteuk asked Kyuhyun to talk but Kyuhyun said “Because I’m the magnae, I can’t talk too much”. There was also a little YeHae moment. Yesung wanted to say something, but Donghae waved his hand in front of Yesung’s face and did not let Yesung speaks.
Then Super Junior M sang 2 songs: Perfection and Super Girl. After that, Super Junior T sang Rokkugo. Heechul said “Aku Cinta Indonesia” in the middle of the song. Then Leeteuk went to the front and sang close to the crowd.
Indonesian ELF gave 4 gold medals to Shindong, and Shindong gave two of them to Kyuhyun. Sungmin approached Kyuhyun, touching the medals. Then he gave one medal to Leeteuk. Leeteuk told Sungmin, it’s the first time they came to Indonesia but they’re glad to be here. Leeteuk also said a thing about the upcoming 5jb and the “5JIB” banners were raised. Then he said Sorry, Sorry would be the last song for tonight.
After Sorry, Sorry many children sang Heal the World. Then all performers gave the last bow. Some of Super junior members high fived the children. Leeteuk kept bowing and smiling to ELF to show how thankful he was. He was the last person to leave the stage.
It wasn’t raining yesterday. Maybe it was because Super Junior did not come with full members. But it was better because in Indonesia, rain means traffic jam. And it was the last thing Super Junior needs in their hectic schedule.

4 June:

K-pop fans are very enthusiastic coming to music festival KIMCHI 2011 which will be held at Istora Senayan on Saturday (4/6/2011). Since morning, SuJu’s fans who call themselves ELF Indonesia has flooded the front yard of Istora.
The queue which was dominated by female teens has gathered waiting for the concert. One of them is Umi (22), female teen from Pejaten who admitted she has queued since 9 AM WIB.
SuJu is indeed the boyband she is waiting for the most together with her friends. KIMCHI event itself will start at 6 PM WIB.
“I like Super Junior since 2 years ago, for them, I am willing to wait since morning, can’t be passed”, said Umi whom met by detikhot together with couple of her friends.
Even to buy the concert tickets, few of the fans admitted they are willing to borrow some money so that they can see their idols directly. “For Super Junior I am willing to borrow some money to see them”, said a 17 year old fan, Amel.
The colour blue dominated the queue which was hundreds of metres long. Even though the sun was getting more intense, the fans who were queueing increased. Besides Super Junior, KIMCHI 2011 will also persent Park Jung Min, The Boss, Girl’s Day, and X-5.

19 April:ELF Indonesia queue for KIMCHI
Last Sunday (17/04/2011) Wproductions as the promoter started to sell the tickets for KIMCHI which will be held on June 4th, 2011. Tickets were selling really well.
Even though the promoter stated tickets would be sold starting from 10AM, the queue has started way earlier. There were many fans who have already queued since early in the morning; some of them even queued since 3AM. Around 10.30AM the tickets sales were started.
Each person was allowed to buy a maximum of 4 tickets. Minutes away from the start of ticket sales, the cheapest tickets were sold out. This is because the promoter was only selling 100 tickets for Tribune 2. Many fans were disappointed with the announcement from the promoter about the sold out tickets.
The promoter started to sell tribune 2 tickets for 550.000 IDR, tribune 1 for 2.000.000 IDR, festival 2 for 1.500.000 IDR, festival 1 for 2.000.000 IDR, and VIP for 2.500.000 IDR. Offline ticket sales were only held for one day, whereas online ticket sales will start after further confirmation from the promoter.
Beside Super Junior, KIMCHI event will also be attended by Park Jung Min, The Boss, Girl’s Day, and newcomer from Korea, X-5. However, there is no doubt that the majority of tickets were sold to ELF. They are so enthusiastic to see Super Junior for the first time.

18 April:
Super Junior’s (SuJu) magic is tremendous. Only for watching this Koreanboyband, hundreds of teenagers were willing to queue at Grand Indonesia since the dawn on Sunday (17/4).

They wished to get the Tribune 2 ticket which costs 550000 IDR. But some of them had to accept the disappointment because that cheapest type of ticket was sold out soon after the stand opened at 10am. As scheduled, SuJu itself will perform on the upcoming June 4th.
Desty, one of the fans from Kalibata was one of the fans who got disappointed, because she couldn’t get the ticket she wished for. “(I) queue since 7am, (and) I can’t get a ticket. I want the Tribune 2 which is 550000 IDR. I left home at 5:30am, (but) apparently there were people who slept on the parking field since 3am. The event committee has given the queuing number. I thought that the ticket was sold at 10am, but apparently at 10am (they) just paid,” she said, sighing.
Desty admitted that she liked boyband SuJu because their voice are good. “The dancing is also good. (They’re) also handsome. Since elementary school I like to watch Korean film. When SuJu debuted, (I) liked them right away. Once I listened, (I) took note of the lyric, listened frequently, and memorized them,” said the teen who admitted that she memorized 10 SuJu’s songs.
Tita who lived at Fatmawati area also admitted that she was disappointed because she couldn’t get the ticket. “Actually (I) want to buy Tribune 2, but it has been sold out. The price of Tribune 1 ticket keeps changing, the information on Internet is not very clear, so I’m confused,” she said.
Rina and four of her friends were lucky. “(We) put great effort to get it. Queuing since the dawn, we now get the payment receipt, we only have to pay. If (we) can meet (them), (we) want to give them hat, ask for signature, and take picture together,” she explained.
Super Junior or also known as SuJu/SJ is a Korean boyband which consists of 13 members, namely Leeteuk, Heechul, HanGeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryewook, Kibum, dan Kyuhyun.
They will be the main performer on the Korean Idols Music Concert Hosted in Indonesia (KIMCHI) event which is held at Istora Senayan, the upcoming June 4th 2011. The tickets are sold in various type such as VIP (2500000 IDR), Festival 1 (2000000 IDR), Festival 2 (1500000 IDR), Tribune 1 (2000000 IDR), dan Tribune 2 (550000 IDR).
According to Sean Sudwikatmono, W Production’s Managing Director, on KIMCHI 2011 press conference, for fans from other cities, the promoter provides the online ticket sales. “The online tickets will be sold after the public sales, and hopefully they are not sold out yet”, he said.
The fast sold-out ticket can be a proof that K Pop or the musics from Korea have never been out of fans. Korean music now become one of the well-loved genres other than Indonesian music or western music.
Just for the information, before this K Pop fans also had been waiting for Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu who are joined in JYJ. The ticket for the show at Sentul on April 9th also had been sold online. But the boyband’s management at the end canceled the concert in Indonesia with a reason that the promoter who brought them to Indonesia, Dreamcatcher Indonesia (DCI), was not very professional. Other than Indonesia, C Jes Entertainment who is JYJ’s management also canceled the concert in Singapore.
SuJu’s fan, Andinali Ridha Aminsha who queued with Annisa Fitriani yesterday said (that) what she really wanted to be held in Indonesia was Super Show or Super Junior’s concert tour. Super Show is usually held yearly and taking place in various countries in Asia. Before this, the neighborhood countries like Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia have succeeded bringing Super Junior.
Super Junior debuted on November 6th 2005, and has succeeded making history on both Korean and Asian music industry.
Since the debut till the early 2011, Super Junior has released 4 albums namely Superjunior05 (Twins) which was released in 2005. (It was) followed by Don’t Don (2007), Sorry Sorry (2009), and Bonamana (2010).

Super Junior is enthusiastic to hold concert in Indonesia
Jakarta – Korean Idols Music Concert Hosted in Indonesia 2011 (KIMCHI) will be held in Istora Senayan on June 4th, 2011. One of the most anticipated concert group, Super Junior (SuJu) admitted (that they’re) enthusiastic (about) visiting Indonesia.
“They are really enthusiastic because they often hear they have many fans in Indonesia. And everytime they hold a concert, there are always Indonesian people,” states Sean Sudwikatmono, Managing Director WProdution as the promoter when met in Sands Ballroom & Theatre, Mangga Dua Square, Ballroom 1, Jl. Gunung Sahari Raya No.1, Jakarta Utara, on Thursday (14/04/2011).
Previously, the promoter admitted it is a little bit difficult to bring SuJu (to Indonesia). The reason, because it is hard to find a suitable stage that suits their style. However, with the approach and help from Korean Embassy, finally SuJu agreed to enliven up KIMCHI 2011.
“The biggest obstacle is to find the venue. As you know, SuJu always need a big stage to perform. The Korean Embassy also helped (us) a lot to bring SuJu and the other artists (to Indonesia),” states Sean.
KIMCHI 2011 will not only be showing SuJu. WProductions are bringing popular artists such as Park Jung Min, The Boss, Girl’s Day, and newcomer from Korea X-5.

14 April:KIMCHI Press Conference Full Report
Annyeonghaseyo!
It is a pleasure for us to attend the KIMCHI (Korean Idols Music Concert Hosted in Indonesia) Press Conference to clear out all the issues regarding the concert which going to be held in Jakarta this 4th June 2011.
For your information, KIMCHI will be featuring Super Junior (10 members), Park Jung Min (SS501), The Boss (DGNA/DNA), Girl’s Day and finally rookie idol group X-5. The concert venue will be at Istora Senayan. No other artists will be performing except the 5 of them!
Many are wondering that will Super Junior comes in full team – here is 10 members -, Mr. Sean as the Managing Director of WProduction answered that according to the contract wproduction signed with SM Entertainment, they will come for KIMCHI as 10 members. And you can be happy for that.
Also Why X-5, a relatively new kpop idol group is in KIMCHI? According to Mr. Sean, X-5 comes with The Boss as they are in the same company and Wproduction would like to expose X-5 to the Indonesian kpop lovers
Mr. Sean also said that the audience target for this concert is 7,000 people as that is the maximum capacity of the Istora Senayan. He added about the ticket prices which are expensive are because of the venue capacity, they already tried their best to serve the demand by providing tribune 2 tickets. People are comparing KIMCHI to the ticket price in Singapore, Singapore Indoor Stadium can hold up to 12,000 people, so they couldn’t do it as the venue capacity in Jakarta is very different compare to Malaysia’s Bukit Jalil and Singapore’s Indoor Stadium. And for your information, Istora Senayan is a venue that has been chosen by the Korean management, it is the most suitable place to hold KIMCHI.
If you are still wondering if KIMCHI is for real, yes, Mr. Sean answered it firmly that they have signed the contract and already fulfilled the contract demand. Wproduction has never cancelled any concerts, and Wproduction is the one who bring Rain for World Tour and Kimbum fanmeeting.
Super Junior is the main performer for this event, and rumors said that they will only sing for 2 songs, in other kpop festival like this, usually the performers will sing at least 4 songs, so Super Junior as the main performer, they will sing for more than 4 (four) songs. Super Junior is scheduled to be performed last in KIMCHI.
So don’t hesitate to buy KIMCHI Ticket at the public sales in Blitz Atrium, Grand Indonesia 17th April 2011 starting at 10AM till at most 10PM. Public sales will have limited ticket quotas as at most around 20% of the KIMCHI Tickets will be on sale at online ticket boxes which will be announced later.
There are only 5 tickets: Tribune 2, Tribune 1, Festival 1, Festival 2, and VIP, so there is no Exclusive VIP priced 3 million.
Ticket Price:
VIP : Rp.2.500.000.,00 ~ Numbered seating.
Festival 1: Rp.2.000.000.,00 ~ Free standing.
Festival 2: Rp.1.500.000.,00 ~ Free standing.
Tribune 1: Rp.2.000.000,00 ~ Free seating.
Tribune 2: Rp.550.000,00 ~ Free seating.
Lastly, a question asked by other media about any special demand from the performers, Mr. Sean jokes that most Korean performers would like Kimchi to be provided. Please never trust any news out of these information given, and you can go to WPROD EVENT PAGE:http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196154023756206 and WPROD TWITTER:http://www.twitter.com/wproductions08 for the real information.
P.S: There will Korean Culture Festival in October according to Mr. Kim Hyun Ki.
