On August 19th, the final winner of MBC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars‘ was finally announced as the last two teams fiercely competed for first place. On this day, not only did the last two standing teams attend, but the teams that were eliminated attended as well.
HyunA prepared a separate, special stage, performing her hit song that started her solo career, “Change“. In addition, HyunA and Nam Gi Yong performed a seductive duet dance to the song, “Sway“. However, this powerful, and also the youngest, couple was recently eliminated even with high anticipation of many viewers.
Meanwhile, Moon Hee Jun and his partner, Ahn Hye Sang, was the lucky couple who won the competition. Moon Hee Jun overcame with emotion when he was awarded with the trophy and later confessed, “I was embarrassed to be sniffling when I’m a guy. This is a program that made many viewers dance; but it was also a program that made me dance. I’m really thankful“.
Moon Hee Jun also confessed to Ahn Hye Sang, “You are the most beautiful woman that I’ve ever seen so far. In my eyes, you’re the best dancer“.
Netizens who watched this heartfelt episode commented, “Hard work pays off“, “If you really try hard without giving up, it really pays off“, “I’m glad I voted for them“, “Moon Hee Jun is so charming“, “I was surprised and touched to see such a different image of him“.

On this week’s episode of MBC’s Dancing With The Stars, each contestant revealed their personal life stories apart from their usual competitive dance competition on stage.
Moon Hee Jun, who is doing a fabulous job as a contestant, revealed his depressing story and stated that he had a very stressful life after his idol days.
Known as the past leader of idol group H.O.T, it has been known to the public that his career was not all so pleasant after the disbandment of the group. However, this show had given him an opportunity to give viewers a more in-depth story about his days of struggle.
Moon Hye Ri, his younger sister, was interviewed and revealed her feelings about the anti-fans that her brother had to deal with during the promotions of his first solo album.
She stated, “What would happen if our family saw these harmful comments by anti-fans. What was the reason for these people to force one person into a small corner? If I felt this worried for him, imagine how he himself must have felt. He was even more depressed because he felt like he was upsetting our family. But he fought all that hardship by himself and hid it so well that he appeared perfectly fine. I didn’t know back then, but I eventually found out that he fought something so hard by himself.”
Moon Hee Jun, having received so much hate due to his love for the rock genre (anti-fans used to criticize him as a fake rocker), advanced to the TOP 3 with his partner Ahn Hye Sang by dancing to rock music.

As fans eagerly wait for After School subunits: After School Red and After School Blue to bring their sweet moves for their upcoming debut stages, the ladies gave a reminder of what they’re all about with a special stage on the latest edition of MBC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

4minute’s HyunA and her partner, Nam Ki Yong, delivered a hot tango for MBC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars‘, but unfortunately, it raked in their worst criticisms yet.
On July 15th, the couple tackled their sixth stage with a powerful and dramatic tango. However, the judges felt that there were parts in the dance that lacked proper execution.
One judge commented, “I’m jealous of HyunA’s innate talent, however, the competition is getting fierce and I want to see a far superior performance [from her] than from other teams. The staccato wasn’t lively at all and I wasn’t able to see the natural chemistry between the couple.”
Another judge criticized, “When did the hold change like that? Only the music was tango – the movement and the holds weren’t tango at all. It’s hard to even judge. Tango is not acting, it’s expressing oneself.”
The last judge stated, “I think it would’ve been better if you expressed yourself with more confidence.”
A representative for HyunA revealed that the idol was upset at herself for not executing her skills properly, especially since her practice time was limited by her overlapping solo promotions. She’s said to feel disappointed at not being able to fulfill the expectations that were placed on her when she first announced that she would appear on the show.
HyunA stated, “At first it was nice encountering a genre that I didn’t know, but since I think of it as work, there are a lot of difficulties [that I face].”
The couple received the lowest score on the day’s broadcast, placing last with 16 points. In the end, HyunA was eliminated, while Jessica Gomes placed 1st this week.

4minute’s HyunA has been in the lower rankings for the past two weeks due to the judges’ stern reports. How did she fare this week?
On the July 9th broadcast of MBC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars‘, the contestants were given a sports dance mission based on the theme, ‘popular dances from each time period’.
HyunA and her partner, Nam Ki Yong, revived the retro feel by dancing to “YMCA“. The couple danced to the disco music in vintage-style clothing, and laid out an exciting performance.
Unfortunately, judge Nam Kyung Ju was less than impressed with their show, as he said, “I’m sorry to say that the disco dance’s left-to-right and up-to-down motions were not clear.” Hwang Sun Woowarned, “The performance was exciting. But, this competition is about being fair. You two need to work in unison, as you look to be dancing separately.”
However, not everyone was critical of the duo. Kim Joo Won complimented, “You showed off HyunA’s talents well. You were more in unison than in last week’s performance.”
In the end, the HyunA/Nam Ki Yong couple received a score of 19 points, a figure that was equivalent to the eliminated team’s. They were saved through text votes made by viewers.

On July 8th, MBC’s ‘Dancing With the Star‘ aired a special ‘dancing story’ episode that featured the elimination of the Kim Dong Gyu and Lee Han Na couple.
What caught the attention of viewers, however, was 4minute’s HyunA shedding tears over their loss. She said, “I should have been the one eliminated…”
Kim Dong Gyu consoled, “I was eliminated, why are you the one crying? Work hard, okay?”Unfortunately, the words made her break down even harder, and representatives revealed that she cried in her waiting room for a while after the recording for the show finished.
HyunA and her partner, Nam Gi Yong, had actually placed in the bottom two. Although they made a stunning cover of “The Phantom of the Opera“, they were judged for their frequent mistakes. Because of HyunA’s tough schedule, she had been finding it difficult to make room for practice.
In her interview, she revealed, “I have so much to show but the conditions aren’t allowing me to.”
First place on the show went to Hee Jun and An Hye Sang.

4minute’s HyunA became the main character of the ‘Phantom of the Opera’! as she showed off an incredible couple tango performance on the July 1st edition of MBC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
Just like last week, when HyunA threw off her image as an idol and performed a sexy “coming-of-age” cha-cha-cha routine, HyunA once again captivated the audience with her tango performance.
Also, due to her tanned skin, for her upcoming solo comeback, HyunA’s sexiness shined even more during the performance.
However, the judges weren’t as easily impressed.
Judge Nam Kyung Joo stated, “It did not look the musical ‘Phantom of the Opera’ but more like a fight between the two people. I wish HyunA expressed more innocence and fright like the characterChristine. Also, during the performance, the composure was broken.” Hwang Sung Woo stated, “I had the feeling that HyunA was being chased around.” Lastly, Kim Joo Won stated, “I think my expectations of HyunA were high. I saw a lot of shakiness throughout the dance.”.
As for the total score, HyunA recieved a 6, 5, and a 6, making a total score of 17. A bit harsh for the spectacular performance. Check out her performance below!

Girl group 4minute’s HyunA recently performed a sexy “coming-of-age” cha-cha-cha routine on ‘Dancing with the Stars‘.
On the June 24th broadcast, the ten contestants competed in their second “Vienna Waltz or Cha-Cha-Cha” mission. HyunA expressed her determination, stating, “I want to show a different side of myself this week, but I’m worried because I didn’t have much time to practice. I will still try my best.”
In contrast to her previously bright and girly wardrobe, HyunA wore a revealing black dress that emphasized her feminine beauty. Similarly, her performance lived up to its “coming-of-age” title and oozed with sex appeal. HyunA’s fierce eye contact and strong teamwork with partner, Nam Ki Yong, came together to create a flawless performance.
Her hard work paid off, and the judges praised her for her dramatic change. They commented, “You’ve shown that you’re no longer a girl with a bubbly image, but a woman. You two had great teamwork“, “This mature routine fits you more. You’ve finally showcased your talent. There’s a different charm to this compared to last week’s performance“, and “Your footstep was lacking a bit“.
After her performance, HyunA cutely asked her fellow group members to help her move on the next round. She shouted, “Are you guys watching? If you guys send me some text messages, I think I won’t fall out of the competition just yet“, and evoked the studio to laugh.
Luckily, HyunA was able to advance to the third round with a total of 19 points.

On June 17th, MBC’s “Dancing With the Stars” broadcast its first live episode at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.
4minute’s HyunA and her partner, Nam Gi Yong, were the fourth contestants up and performed a stunning jive dance that captivated the audience for a full 10 minutes. Despite her busy schedule and injury, HyunA wowed judges with her flawless performance.
Judge Kim Joo Won commented, “No matter what she does, she’s able to bring her own flair to it. Her leg movement was very detailed, and I could tell that she put a lot of work into it.”
Nam Kyung Joo said, “It was a performance that really played up HyunA’s strengths, but there wasn’t much of a difference compared to last week’s stage.”
Hwang Sun Woo concluded, “It fit well with the jive image. The distance between her and her partner was a bit disappointing. I think they could’ve also worked on their interaction with the audience.”
HyunA admitted that she was still in the process of getting to know her partner. The two ended up earning a final score of 17 points.
First place went to Kim Gyuri, who scored a total of 22 points, while Lee Seul Ah, who came in with 15 points, was met with a tearful elimination.

But HyunA was determined to make a good impression on the show, and so she not only performed the full choreography for her routine, but did so without the cast. Her effort seems to have paid off, as she lived up to her title of being the most anticipated female dancer on the show.
She also never talked about her injury on air, and people weren’t able to catch that she was injured at all due to her fantastic performance.
Unfortunately, HyunA must keep the cast on for the next two to three weeks.
Cube Entertainment commented, “We are continuing treatment in case her injury gets worse. She has a lot of determination to do well, so she will be doing her best for all of her future performances.”

It was recently announced that 4minute’s HyunA would be participating in the Korean adaptation of popular reality TV show, “Dancing with the Stars“, where celebrities are paired up with dance specialists for various dance battles.
After the initial announcement, some backstage photos of the recording were tweeted by 4minute’s manager Hong Jin Taek. He wrote, “The cast and staff members thoroughly enjoyed the food that you have sent. Because HyunA is busy preparing for the broadcast, I uploaded these photos for her. HyunA was so thankful that she teared up… she’s so happy now that her stomach is full^^” Two pictures were uploaded along with the tweet, where HyunA’s cute and sexy charms are clearly evident.

On June 3rd, MBC’s new dance reality series, “Dancing With the Stars“, held its production press conference at the Grand Ambassador Seoul Hotel.
Led by MC Lee Duk Hwa and Lee Sora, contestants Park Eun Ji, Kim Gyuri, Jessica Gomes, Lee Seul Ah, 4minute’s HyunA, Kim Young Chul, Moon Hee Jun, and many others attended the event.
HyunA stated, “It’s an honor for me to be able to work with so many amazing people. As someone who loves dance, I promise to do my best. It’s a genre that I haven’t been in for long so it might be difficult, but I will work hard to show a better side of myself.”
“Dancing With the Stars” will begin airing at 9:55 PM KST starting on June 10th!

4minute’s HyunA has been confirmed for MBC’s new reality show, “Dancing with the Stars“.
The announcement was made on May 20th, and the idol is now waiting for her first recording. She will be joining actor Kim Young Chul, model Jessica Gomes, weather-caster Park Eun Ji, professionalbaduk player Lee Seul Ah, actress Kim Gyuri, singer Kim Jang Hoon, singer Moon Hee Jun, vocalist Kim Dong Gyu, marathoner Lee Bong Joo, and announcer Oh Sang Jin as part of the 11-member cast.
Each person will be paired with a dance specialist to compete in a dance competition. The MCs for the show will be actor Lee Duk Hwa and model Lee Sora.
“Dancing with the Stars” is scheduled to broadcast its first episode on June 10th.

MBC has picked up the highly popular reality show, “Dancing with the Stars“, for a Korean adaptation. The show originates from the UK, and it later travelled to the U.S., where it was very well-received. Now, the show will be making its debut in Korea.
So which celebrities have been cast for the program? Kim Jang Hoon and glamorous model Jessica Gomes will compete against many others to become the best celebrity dancer.
Kim Jang Hoon has already been rehearsing very basic step-moves over the last three weeks. His dance coach is Jung Ah Reum, the same coach who appeared on “Infinity Challenge” in 2007. Under her tutelage, it’s been said that he will perform very powerful and memorable dance moves.
Regarding the participation of 4minute’s HyunA who was named in a Sports Seoul article, Cube Entertainment expressed to Star News, “HyunA will be embarking on solo promotions in June, and so there might be a conflict of schedules if she takes part in it. We have not made any decisions yet.”
Besides the above mentioned, the show will also star Kim Young Chul, Kim Dong Kyu, Moon Hee Jun, Lee Seul Ah, Oh Sang Jin, and Lee Bong Ju.
The show will premiere in mid-June.
11 April:On April 11th, MBC confirmed that they will be airing the Korean version of ”Dancing With the Star” beginning June 10th!
The program is a highly popular one both in Europe and the States, as it features a unique concept that pairs up celebrities for numerous dance battles.
A representative of MBC Plus Media revealed, “We will be making a reality program that exhibits stars rehearsing and improving their dance skills. It will begin airing in the same time slot as ‘The Great Rebirth‘, and we currently have 12 weeks of episodes planned.”
They continued, “We have confirmed the show in our line-up and are currently in discussions for the cast and other details. Because there needs to be time set aside for rehearsals and such, casting celebrities is proving to be quite an intensive process.”
