On May 29th, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon guested on MBC’s “Bouquet” with his mother, who’s also a music professor at Myungji University.
Lee Joon confessed, “My mom once told me don’t go around singing.” Jokingly shocked, panelists asked his mother, Son, why she would say something like that to her son, who’s a singer.
Son retorted, “I sometimes forget that he’s a singer!” After a burst of laughter from the panel, she continued to explain that as a professor of music, she felt that he lacked some vocal talent.
Later on in the show, she also revealed childhood photos of Lee Joon, along with a hilarious explanation that although he was smart as a kid, his IQ began to drop into the double digits (120 to 98) growing up.
Lee Joon confessed, “I’ve never once had a proper meal from my mother. For the past 24 years, it’s always been the standard bowl of rice, a soup, and side dishes.”
Son retorted, “I breast-fed my son for two years, even when we were riding the subways. I’d breast-feed him to make him stop crying.” Lee Joon commented,”They say that your IQ is supposed to go up when you’re breast-fed but I’m the opposite. My IQ was 120 when I was younger, but now I think I’m 98.”
Panelists asked, “Then does that mean Lee Joon has the same IQ as a dolphin?” Son replied, “His IQ changes depending on his condition. But it’s because of me that he at least has that much!”

8 Mei:It has been reported that MBC’s “Bouquet” may be on the chopping block.
‘Banquet’ started out as a youth-oriented variety program with a star-studded cast of girl groups. This past February, the show changed its gears to target a wider audience with a family variety theme. ‘Bouquet’ even changed the slogan, “From people in their 10’s to 60’s, whether boy, girl, old, or young, let’s become nation idols that encompasses all generations.”
However, even with the new transformation, the program couldn’t escape the trap of low ratings, which is why MBC is now in talks of canceling the show.
An official from MBC’s Entertainment Bureau explained, “We didn’t decide to cancel the show right away. Of our overall assessment, the cancellation of ‘Bouquet’ just happened to be a topic of discussion and it is currently under review.”
Meanwhile, it looks like MBC’s “Starry Night Memories” may also come to an early end. There’s speculation that the following program will be a liberal arts program rather than an entertainment program.
14 April:Super Junior’s Shindong became a topic of hot discussion after it was revealed that he still felt uncomfortable around a fellow group member.
During the latest recording of MBC’s “Bouquet“, the guests were asked, “Of all the guests here, is there anyone you would like to confess something to?” Shindong answered, “Super Junior member Donghae.”Despite the long years they’ve spent together as part of Super Junior, Shindong confessed that he still feels awkward when he’s alone with Donghae.
Meanwhile, Moon Hee Jun boldly stated, “I will call all the H.O.T members and we will decide on the ‘H.O.T reunion’ at Bouquet’s confession table.’ Shindong wittily retorted, “Then I will bring Lee Soo Manteacher”, which hilariously caused a flustered reaction from Moon Hee Jun.
This episode of ‘Bouquet’ will air on April 17th.
4 April:On April 3rd, one of the mothers of the T-ara members was a guest on MBC’s “Bouquet” and asked guests to figure out which T-ara member she was the mother to.
Due to her close resemblance to member Qri, guests thought it’d be an easy game and immediately targeted Qri. Kim Jung Min confidently claimed, “Except the nose, she looks exactly like Qri!”
However, the T-ara members put their acting talent to use in an attempt to stir things up, drawing confusion amongst the guests. They eventually came to settle with a unanimous decision on Soyeon.
Standing before her, the mother read aloud a letter she had personally written for her daughter. At the end, however, she called out Qri’s name, confirming that she was indeed the mother of Qri, not Soyeon. Qri eventually showed tears over her mother’s heartfelt letter.
Earlier on the show, the members also surprised Qri by revealing that she had had a boyfriend up until recently.
3 April:On April 3rd, MBC’s “Bouquet” held a special family search event that invited one of the mothers of the T-ara members. Through a series of brain quizzes, guests were asked to figure out which member she was the mother to.Member Jiyeon, who claimed that she did not have any childhood pictures of her and her mother, showed off a set of pictures with her brother instead. In the pictures, she can be seen smiling brightly alone, as well as showing off her ’superior genes’ alongside her brother on a bench.
2 April:T-ara’s Jiyeon made a surprise confession about an ‘attempted runaway event’.
On the coming April 3rd, MBC’s “Bouquet” will be meeting fans as a new ‘family’ variety show rather than a ‘youth’ variety show.
On the newly refurbished “Bouquet”, T-ara visited as the first guest. As all the members guested together for the first time in a long time, there was a warm, friendly atmosphere during the recording.
During the recording, the MCs asked, “Have you ever run away during your student days?”, to which T-ara’s maknae (youngest) Jiyeon surprised all the guests by answering yes.
Jiyeon, however, revealed that no one in her family knows about her escape – raising curiosity from listeners.
She stated, “During middle school, I decided to run away, so I quietly left my house. However, 30 minutes after I left, I got a text message saying that my older brother ran away too. I was so surprised that I forgot the fact that I ran away and I immediately called my parents. Then I helped my parents look for my brother,”causing much laughter in the studio.
