Dalgona

13 September:

On September 12th, SNSD‘s Hyoyeon guested on SBS‘s Chuseok special of ‘Dalgona‘ and proved herself to be the female version of veteran singer Kim Heung Guk, a celebrity known for his hilarious speech mistakes.
Hyoyeon’s close hometown friend Park Ki Joon made an appearance, surprising everyone with a confession on the many instances where Hyoyeon made some mistakes in her speech.
He began, “Hyoyeon makes a lot of hilarious mistakes.  She was into the character ‘Goo Jun Pyo’ from the drama ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ when it was airing.  We were watching it together one day and she looked at me with an expression of love and said, ‘Don’t you think Goo Jun Yup is so amazing?’”
Her mistakes didn’t end just there, though, as he had saved the best for last.  “One day, Hyoyeon was trying to ask me to go skiing with her.  Because she was so excited, instead of ‘ski’, she ended up saying, ‘Let’s go to the kiss resort!”

The emotional stories soon gave way to hilarious ones from their trip, and Yuri explained a particularly memorable episode from the plane.

Unlike many people who precisely remember their first love memories, Sooyoung said her memories of her first love were faint. Her first love claimed that he only remembered being rejected by Sooyoung.
Sooyoung’s first love stated, “In elementary school we had crushes on each other. I heard a rumor that Sooyoung liked me so I confessed, but Sooyoung said she had to become a singer and rejected my proposal.
On September 12th, through SBS’ “Chuseok Special-Dalgona”, viewers will be able to see Sooyoung and her first love share different sides and memories of their first love story.

His report cards for each year, carefully recorded by his family, showed his strong academic grades. However, beginning in high school, his grades dropped until his standing in class was last place.
Tei’s father explained, “We found out he went to sing instead of going to hagwon [cram school].” He continued, “Since my son was a big disappointment [to me at the time], I cried while I was scolding him. I told him that academics were first and singing should just be a hobby“.
Tei later reflected, “Belatedly, I realized that while I was doing what I wanted to do, my parents were having a really difficult time. As a result, an affectionate feeling for them arose inside of me.”
Afterwards, a shocking video of Tei playing as a rocker in high school was shown.

There was a time when Taecyeon gave me his mother’s wedding ring. Taecyeon, who had transferred to a different school, came to play at our Busan school on his day off and gave me the ring.
Unusually, Taecyeon wrote the letter on the gold ring’s warranty. Rather than expressing his feelings in the letter, he wrote about the fact that the ring was real.
She continued to explain that she did not keep the ring, since it was in fact, his mother’s wedding ring.
Taecyeon reminisced,
I really liked her. I waited a long time outside of her house. I wonder why I wrote the letter on the gold ring’s warranty?

Go Song Mi appeared with her face covered by a childhood picture of herself. As she revealed herself, she said, “Hi Wooyoung“. Wooyoung then responded saying, “I think you look similar to back then.

He went on to ask, “Did you know that I liked you?” to which she replied, “I knew that you liked me“. She continued,
Wooyoung didn’t say anything but he showed it by giving me things like the school newsletter or milk. At times he would treat me well and other times he would treat me poorly, he consistenly pushed and pulled.
In third grade, we were able to sit with whoever we liked but Wooyoung was popular. At first, I was too proud to go up to him and hold his hand, but later I did.

2PM Wooyoung’s mother recently came out on SBS’s ‘Dalgona‘ and revealed their family’s struggle with her son’s dream.

On the show’s July 1st broadcast, Wooyoung’s mother, Yeo Sun Joo, talked about Wooyoung’s relationship with his father and shared that she almost divorced her husband because of Wooyoung’s dream to become a singer.
She stated, “My husband and I almost went separate ways because of Wooyoung… Wooyoung’s father wanted him to become an official; however, since Wooyoung had an interest in dance since he was young, he neglected his studies.”
Wooyoung’s mother also shared that her husband didn’t approve of his son’s dreams during that time. She shared that his father forced Wooyoung to transfer to a private school in Busan in 5th grade.“From then on, there were conflicts and wars within our household,” she said.

Yeo Sun Joo continued to share that Wooyoung–who couldn’t give up his dreams–started to attend a dance school behind his father’s back to keep his dreams alive. As a result, his grades dropped. Eventually his father started to have his suspicions and thus took Wooyoung’s PMP–which was filled with dance videos–and broke it. After this incident, the conflicts between the two only worsened.
As Wooyoung’s mother revisted her son’s hard past, her eyes started to water. She said, “I told him that it’d be better if he just attended [the dance school] without his father’s knowledge but he told me that he would continue to beg his father until his heart loosened up. We cried like children during that time… Just thinking about those times and hearing my son’s name makes me cry.”
Meanwhile, Wooyoung–who never gave up–eventually got permission from his father to follow his dreams and his mother showed him continual support and love through his entire journey.

The mother of 2PM’s Wooyoung recently guested on SBS’s ‘Dalgona‘ and revealed that she and her husband almost got a divorce in the past because of Wooyoung.

She explained that Wooyoung’s father, who had previously served as a government official, was a very conservative man and did not approve of Wooyoung’s dream to be a singer. As a result, Wooyoung’s mother had to always act as a mediator between the father and son.

She also shared a story of how before he became a trainee, as Wooyoung had secretly attended dance classes, but one day was caught by his furious father.
Later, when Wooyoung passed the first round of JYP Entertainment’s open auditions, his father voiced his objections even until the day Wooyoung signed a contract with the agency. At that point, Wooyoung’s mother finally decided enough was enough and boldly declared to her husband, “If you see two bodies floating down the Han River tomorrow, know that they will be the bodies of Wooyoung and I.”  It was after this declaration that Wooyoung was finally able to start his trainee life.
