Girls’ Generation member Sunny expressed her thoughts on being a solo MC for the very first time.
Sunny attended the SBS MTV ‘Music Island‘ press conference that was held at the Jeju Grand Hotelon February 14th and said, “I will work to serve as a bridge for Hallyu and the world.”
“The program will be aired in more than 8 countries worldwide, and I think it will help build more awareness for K-POP,” she continued. “As a member of Girls’ Generation who benefits from the K-POP phenomenon, I will work harder to do bigger things on the program. I will do my best to lead the program to success.”
In regards to being a solo MC for the first time she said, “I’m actually very nervous to be a solo MC for the first time. I will be with many audience members and guests. I am both excited and nervous waiting for the first shoot to take place.”
SBS MTV program director Kim Chang Woo also said, “There are a lot of music programs out there but they lack variety for the most part. But ‘Music Island’ aims for a high-class live music show.”
“The idol stars at the forefront of this K-POP phenomenon will lead the show live for the most part, and we are excited for a mix of live K-pop and a talk show,” he continued. “The program will be aired in over 8 different countries and will available in 250,000,000 households.”
The first broadcast of ‘Music Island’ will feature stars such as IU, MBLAQ, FT Island, Dal Shabet,Jung Yeob, Rainbow, Block B, Lim Jung Hee, and Sunny Hill, and will airon February 29th at 8:00PM in countries such as Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

Sunny‘s new hair has been catching the eyes of Sones lately but what’s all this talk about it? It’s a wig!
On October 21st, SNSD made a comeback on KBS 2TV‘s ‘Music Bank‘ with their latest song, “The Boys“. On the same day, they also performed “Mr. Taxi” for their special comeback stage.
Long before their comeback performance, however, Sunny’s blonde ‘do was one of the hottest topics in K-Pop, with fans and netizens alike praising the star for her dramatic look.
In an interview prior to SNSD’s album release, Sunny stated, “The bob is really a wig. After receiving positive feedback from fans when the teaser was released, I felt good… Although I proposed that I would style myself, I haven’t decided if I’m going to wear the wig on stage yet.”
It was later revealed that both Sunny and SM Entertainment decided to stick with the wig, as fans seems interested in this new look.

SNSD’s Sunny surprised reaction by a sudden pyrotechnics explosion was caught on video and recently uploaded on a community board with the title, ‘Surprised by explosions, Sunny tries to calm down by sweeping down her chest‘.
The video was taken during a recent broadcasting stage and was brought to the attention of fans with the community board posting. In the video, when the pyrotechnics went off, Sunny seems to go into a brief state of shock and was unable to continue on with the choreography for a short while. It was clear that the explosion surprised Sunny.
Other videos that were posted also showed Sunny leaving shortly after the explosion and the other members helping out Sunny by covering her ears as more pyrotechnics go off.
The video was a reminder of Sunny’s past revelations of her traumatic experience with explosions. Back in 2009, Sunny revealed her pyrotechnics trauma during a past SNSD special on KBS 2TV ‘Shin Dong Yup and Shin Bong Sun’s Champagne‘. Sunny explained, “When I was an infant, I lived in the Middle East (Kuwait)“.
She then revealed that she was a Gulf War refugee at a young tender age which gave her a lasting fear of loud explosions. She commented, “I still get surprised when I hear explosions. I was especially surprised by a stage effect once while singing “Kissing You“”.

SNSD’s Sunny fainted during a recent concert in Japan, but she returned to that same concert after a brief hospital visit to sing for the encore performance.
She apologized to the crowd, saying, “I’m okay. I’m sorry for making you worry.”
While fans were touched by the fact that Sunny battled her condition to come back to them, they felt concern about her hospital visit. Thankfully, the check-up revealed nothing out of the ordinary, and so Sunny is currently resting for a short while.
SNSD is currently on their first arena tour in Japan, which started May 31st in Osaka and will continue through other major cities until July 6th.

Fans worldwide were shocked upon hearing that Sunny was hospitalized during SNSD’s Japanese concert in Saitama.
Reportedly, Sunny fainted during the concert and so she went straight to the hospital to recover.
One Japanese newspaper reported, “At the SNSD concert at the Saitama Super Arena on June 5th, Sunny fainted due to overwork and was moved to the hospital.”
After receiving treatment, Sunny demonstrated her fighting spirit by coming back directly for the encore stage. As she walked onto the stage, she cried and apologized to her fans for making them worry.
One related source said, “Her condition wasn’t good before the concert. This won’t affect their schedule.”
SM Entertainment revealed that Sunny was just fatigued and there was no major health issues.
We know that the girls are working over-time and investing everything they have into their promotions, but health should always come first!
