9 August:

SNSD’s Sunny surprised reaction by a sudden pyrotechnics explosion was caught on video and recently uploaded on a community board with the title, ‘Surprised by explosions, Sunny tries to calm down by sweeping down her chest‘.
The video was taken during a recent broadcasting stage and was brought to the attention of fans with the community board posting. In the video, when the pyrotechnics went off, Sunny seems to go into a brief state of shock and was unable to continue on with the choreography for a short while. It was clear that the explosion surprised Sunny.
Other videos that were posted also showed Sunny leaving shortly after the explosion and the other members helping out Sunny by covering her ears as more pyrotechnics go off.
The video was a reminder of Sunny’s past revelations of her traumatic experience with explosions. Back in 2009, Sunny revealed her pyrotechnics trauma during a past SNSD special on KBS 2TV ‘Shin Dong Yup and Shin Bong Sun’s Champagne‘. Sunny explained, “When I was an infant, I lived in the Middle East (Kuwait)“.
She then revealed that she was a Gulf War refugee at a young tender age which gave her a lasting fear of loud explosions. She commented, “I still get surprised when I hear explosions. I was especially surprised by a stage effect once while singing Kissing You“”.
