The actor’s agency revealed, “Wanting to show a new side to himself, Ji Sung decided to emphasize his singing and dancing. This will be his first attempt in carrying out these kind of performances at a fan meeting.”
They continued, “To sing 5-6 songs on stage may be a little difficult for an actor, but Ji Sung has selected Yoon Do Hyun‘s “Red Sunset” and other Japanese songs to sing for his fans. He has been practicing a lot.”
12 October:
Actor Ji Sung recently left a warm message to his fellow junior actors.
He stated, “When I first made my debut back in 1999, I got paid around $150 for each appearance. Now I get paid around 100 times more than that. At the time, I began my career not sure of what I was doing. I made a lot of mistakes that led to some failures. But if I had given up then, I would not have become who I am now.”
He continued with, “In the beginning I cared a lot about money, but as time passed by I realized money and honor will come if I worked hard. Eventually, I found myself with better roles and multiple offers including lead acting roles. I am very thankful for my happiness. ‘Protect the Boss’ was a romantic comedy, which was a new genre for me. However, I feel like the romantic comedy piece was like a remedy for me. I enjoyed it a lot.”
26 July:
Actor Ji Sung charmed his fans with an adorable picture of himself wearing an apple hairstyle.
On July 26th, Ji Sung posted on his me2day account, “With rabbit. No matter how I look at it, our expressions are so earnest“.
In the attached picture, Ji Sung’s hair has been gathered with a hairclip which feebly attempts to imitate an apple hairstyle. His butterfly bow tie only adds to the cute effect created in the picture.
Upon seeing the photograph, netizens positively commented with, “So cute“, “Your skin is so white“, and “You look good with the bunny“.
Ji Sung is currently working with JYJ’s Jaejoong for their new drama, “Protect the Boss“.
21 July:
“We slept together in our underwear when we first met”.
Actor Ji Sung spoke of his first meeting with his good friend, JYJ’s Jaejoong.
During an interview with Starnews on July 21st, Ji Sung spoke out about his relationship with the superstar. Ji Sung is co-starring with Jaejoong in the upcoming SBS drama, ‘Protect the Boss‘.
He began, “We went to MT (Membership Training) with all of the staff and actors/actresses before we began shooting for the drama… I first met Jaejoong there. After dinner and some drinks, I was trying to fall asleep, but Jaejoong came in the room and we had to use the room together”.
He continued, “There was only one King-size bed in the room. Neither of us really wanted to sleep on the floor, so we chose to sleep on the bed together. But the temperature in the room was so hot that both of us slept in our underwear without any words said. Guys bond quickly after they go to the public bath together, and I guess it’s kind of the same sort of situation” (laughing).
For ‘Protect the Boss’, Ji Sung acts as Cha Ji Heon, the immature and awkward “delinquent boss”, whereas Jaejoong acts as Cha Moo Won, the well-rounded “prince of the financial world”.
Ji Sung didn’t save any words praising Jaejoong’s acting passion either. Ji Sung commented, “Jaejoong has already become a top star as a musician, but he takes acting as his first step and portrays his maknae role at the filming set very well… He analyzes his character very thoroughly before coming to the set. He shows a great sense of professionalism and responsibility”.
Adding on, “Because Jaejoong shows so much effort, many of the senior actors, including me, put in our efforts to make his adjustment to the acting scene a bit smoother. Jaejoong answers back to our efforts with an adorable attitude. I hope he will have a smooth future as an actor”, sharing his sentiments.
‘Protect the Boss’ will premiere on August 3rd as a follow-up to “City Hunter”.
