Idol group B2ST will serve as judges for an upcoming episode of MBC‘s2011 Cover Dance Festival ‘K-Pop Road Show 40120′. The boys teamed up with Spain’s professional chorus ‘Millenium‘ to hold a mini K-pop concert, singing traditional Korean folk songs.
People from various European countries performed at the festival including Spain, England, France, Lithuania, and many other countries. A young Egyptian girl sang traditional Korean trot songs, while a mother and daughter team from England emulated T-ARA‘s “Bo Peep Bo Peep“, making it a lively show full of talent which reportedly left the B2ST boys at a loss for words.
B2ST also had a chance to spend some time with Russian Red, a popular artist from Spain. Russian Red praised B2ST on their unique music, and the two groups sang each other’ songs, showcasing their new found friendship.
This episode will air on MBC on November 3rd.

miss A‘s Suzy will make her first attempt at narrating a program.
Suzy has been selected to narrate the U.S. segment of MBC‘s “2011 Cover Dance Festival K-Pop Roadshow 40120“. miss A and f(x) went to Los Angeles some time ago to judge 317 teams on their dance cover performances.
Many are anticipating hearing the English skills of the girl groups through this broadcast.
Producer Lee Dong Hee revealed,
“Suzy participated as a judge in the U.S. segment of the ‘Cover Dance Festival K-pop Roadshow 40120′ and so she understands the program well. I think Suzy’s lively and charming voice will increase the charm of the program.“
The U.S. segment of the “2011 Cover Dance Festival K-Pop Roadshow 40120″ will air on October 27th.
1 Oktober:
After a massive effort involving 64 countries and over 1,700 teams, the ‘2011 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival‘ has finally narrowed the short list of competitors down to 66!
The final round will take place in Gyeongju, South Korea on October 3rd, and will feature top idols as judges, including SNSD, B2ST, MBLAQ, T-ara, and others.
All participants in the final round will be treated to an eight-day tour of the country, including opportunities to meet their favorite Hallyu stars and enjoy cultural activities.
Also, whoever comes out on top will be awarded the eye-popping opportunity to stand alongside their idols at the Hallyu Dream Concert later this year!

After touring the world and witnessing some great acts from many international fans, the ‘K-POP Cover Dance Festival’ will be holding its final round on October 3rd at the Gyeongju Indoor Stadium.
The show kicked off in June with 1,700 applicants from 64 countries during the 1st preliminary online round. Starting from September 6th, the second round was held all over the world with idol stars flying out to different countries to act as guest judges. SHINee travelled to Russia, MBLAQ went to Brazil, and f(x) and miss A flew over to L.A. Meanwhile, KARA and T-ara stepped into Japan, 2PM went to Thailand, and Spain got a visit from B2ST. Overall, the idols help picked 66 contestants from 10 different countries to compete in the final round in Korea.
The final contestants from the second round were invited to Korea on September 28th for a 7-night, 8-day trip that included seats to a Korean Cultural Performance, a meeting with Hallyu stars, a tour of Korea’s historical landmarks in Gyeongju, and for the final winner of the show – the chance to perform at the Hallyu Dream Concert.
‘K-Pop Cover Dance Festival’ is a show held in commemoration of ‘2011 Visiting Korea Year’, and is aired every Thursday night through MBC.

The teams who passed the first online audition and reached the second part will be allowed to perform on stage. The judges will be TVXQ, SNSD, and 4minute.

Shining the light on the Hallyu wave, the MBC ‘Cover Dance Festival K Pop Roadshow 40120’ will be airing on the 22nd of September at 11:05PM.
The ‘Visit Korea Committee’ will be holding this event to all Hallyu fans to come together and celebrate Hallyu through this event. The meaning of the ‘40120’ is the distance around the globe once, 40,120 km (~25,000 miles).
On the 22nd of this month it will start in Russia, Brazil, US, Japan, Thailand, Spain and then Korea. Including Korea there will be seven countries holding the ‘Cover Dance Festival’, covering a total of eight episodes.
For each country, there will be different idols placed to judge this festival. SHINee will judge in Russia,miss A in Los Angeles, USA, 2PM in Thailand, and B2ST in Spain, and KARA and T-ara in Japan.
In Korea, on October the 3rd YB Band vocal Yoon Do Hyun and girl group SNSD‘s Tiffany and Yuriwill be hosting the festival at the KyungJu Gymnasium. The teams who passed the first online audition and reached the second part will be allowed to perform on stage. The judges will be TVXQ, SNSD, and4minute.

The official poster of MBC ‘Kpop Cover Dance Festival Roadshow 40120‘ has just been released!
The poster contains famous idols who have participated in the program along with their corresponding countries they have visited to judge for the auditions.
The festival has already had firsthand experience of the Hallyu Wave as idols who visited their designated nations collected thousands of kpop fans for the auditions. SHINee, which has enjoyed much interest from European nations, visited Russia while MBLAQ made their first appearance in Brazil. Multiracial groups like miss A and f(x) who are capable of speaking multiple languages had the chance to visit America. 2PM‘s Nichkhun went back to his homeland, Thailand along with the other members and saw Kpop’s strong influence over the country.
In the previous poster, the phrase, “K-pop is making the world dance from Sao Paulo to Moscow” was included while featuring MC Yoon Do Hyun in a energetic pose. The public is anticipating how Yoon Do Hyun will host the festival as he has been favored by many through his work in ‘2PM Date with Yoon Do Hyun‘.
In addition, the ‘Kpop Cover Dance Festival Roadshow 40120′ has created a new genre called ‘Entertainment+Documentary’ due to it’s fun, but professional atmosphere.

‘Cover Dance Festival K-POP Roadshow 40120′, held its Japanese audition on September 11th at Tokyo Shinkiba Studio Coast.
Out of the 193 dance cover teams that applied through the homepage, 22 teams made it through the preliminaries, performing in front of 3,000 audience members and KARA.
Various participants from different backgrounds, from a 9 year old girl, a housewife with 3 kids to a 42 year old salaryman, competed in hopes of being selected as the winner. In addition to the usual idol groups like KARA and T-ara, there were also covers of under represented genres of Korean music fromUV’s “Itaewon Freedom” to Park Hyun Bin’s “Shabang Shabang”.
KARA’s Gyuri stated, “I was touched by the amount of effort put in by the dance teams… I knew that there were a lot of Japanese fans that were interested in K-POP, but I didn’t know the interest level was to the extent of people wanting to actually go to Korea or students dreaming of studying abroad there”.
The PD in charge of the Japanese auditions, Kim Hyun Chul, remarked, “Through the Japanese audition, we were surprised by the different genders and different age groups of K-POP fans and at all the organized K-POP dance cover teams with their own set of fans” and that “If we look at Japan, where K-POP has reached a certain stage, instead of other countries where K-POP has yet to penetrate, we will be able to confirm the true nature of K-POP’s status and the direction it must head towards”.
‘Cover dance Festival K-POP Roadshow 40120′ is an entertainment-documentary program which will air its first episode on September 22nd through MBC.

miss A’s Suzy and Min made a surprise appearance on MBC’s “News Desk”.
Suzy and Min appeared on the September 12th broadcast of MBC’s “News Desk” where they briefly covered the ‘K-Pop Cover Dance Festival” in Los Angeles. In the interview, Suzy commented about foreigners performing K-pop dance covers, “It’s an honor that they are giving their attention, and showing it by dancing”, sharing her feelings.
In particular, Suzy captured the attention of the viewers with her beauty.

For the past few days, the boys of MBLAQ have been enjoying their very warm welcoming in Brazil and now the boys returned the favor by performing at MBC‘s ‘Cover Dance Festival K-POP Roadshow 40120′.
The boys performed “Oh Yeah” and “Mona Lisa” which was all captured on fan cam.
‘Cover Dance Festival K-POP Roadshow 40120′ will air its first episode on September 22nd at 11 AM KST through MBC, MBLAQ’s Brazilian trip should be heavily covered on this episode.

A total of eight idol groups will be judging the qualifying rounds of MBC‘s ‘Cover Dance Festival K-POP Roadshow 40120′, which will take place in various parts of the world.
The show will cover five continents and ten countries, including Russia, Brazil, the U.S., Japan, and Spain. ’40120′ refers to 40,120 km (24,929 miles), which is the distance the idols will travel to experience K-Pop dance covers as judges on the show. The idol groups participating in the show include KARA, 2PM, miss A, SHINee, B2ST, MBLAQ, f(x), and T-ara.
MBC announced, “This show will fall into a new genre, ‘Entertainment Documentary’, which is a combination of a variety show and a documentary detailing the idol groups’ hands-on experience with the popularity and the reality of K-Pop”.
Lee Heung Woo, Kim Hyun Chul, Min Woon Ki, and Lee Dong Hee PDs have come together for the production of this show.

The ladies of KARA were named as the honorary ambassadors for the ‘K-Pop Cover Dance Festival‘!
On August 10th, the Committee of ‘Visit Korea Year’ officially appointed KARA at the Taepyeong-ro Press Center.
Since their debut in 2007, the girls have been enjoying much success in Japan and other countries overseas. The Committee felt that the girls were the best fit in promoting the festival all over the world.
KARA will be joining the ‘K-Pop Cover Dance Festival’ in Japan as guests on September 3rd in Tokyo, as well as various other promotional activities for the festival.
The secretary general of the committee, Hong Ju Min, said, “K-Pop has quickly risen to become one of the driving forces of Hallyu, and along with it, dance covers. By promoting dance covers internationally, we hope to achieve a positive effect, and it is a great opportunity to raise awareness of Korea.”
1 July:
Committee of ‘Visit Korea Year’ was hosting the “2011 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival” in celebration of ‘Visit Korea Year’. Riding on the power of the Hallyu wave, the contest is bringing in an explosive amount of participation from fans all over the world.
Cover dances from over 38 different countries are being uploaded onto the ‘net, and the total amount of views have already exceeded 16 million!
Over 8,000 users have also signed up for the global supporters, showing industry representatives the potential of both online and offline multi-promotions with Korea’s cultural contents.
Various other international media outlets and broadcast networks have begun expressing their desire to cover the phenomenon, and work with the festival to join in on the wave.
Further details can be found through the official homepage. The first round opens online on July 24th, and finalists will be flown into Korea in October to battle for the ultimate title of ‘winner’.
