HyunA stated, “I want to become a more mature adult, and carry out my duties responsibly.” She went on, ”I was surprised that my parents wanted to celebrate Coming of Age day… Rather than doing things I haven’t done before, I want to focus on doing things more confidently.”
When asked if she received any gifts for Coming of Age Day, she answered, “I received flowers, perfume, and a bag from my fans.” She also added, “I want to celebrate the day with my members in a cafe.”
In related news, the girls of 4minute have wrapped up activities for their 3rd mini-album ‘Volume Up‘, and are planning to focus more on solo and overseas activities.

On December 2nd, the singer met with a few reporters at a local restaurant and stated,”It’s an honor that I am being compared to a senior like Lee Hyori. However, I don’t think I will ever be able to achieve what she has accomplished, and therefore I would like to appeal to the fans with my own unique charms. I would like to create my own sort of trademarks, so that people will immediately be able to recognize it as ‘HyunA’. I’m really thankful to Lee Hyori sunbaenim. When I was promoting “Bubble Pop“, she helped me quite a bit.”
And in regards to her own charms, she remarked, “The HyunA that you see on stage and the HyunA you meet on variety programs express two different images, and I think people find the combination of the two to be attractive.”
HyunA was also asked how she felt about exuding overwhelming sex appeal for a girl so young, to which she laughed and responded, “Have I become so dreadfully mature already?”
HyunA was recently at the 2011 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) to perform as new unit, ‘Trouble Maker‘, with B2ST‘s Jang Hyun Seung on November 29th in Singapore.

Before heading straight into her international activities, HyunA sat down for an interview with reporters to wrap up her solo album promotions. She began, “As busy as I’ve been with my promotions, I think time went by just as fast. It doesn’t feel like it’s the end of my solo activities yet. There is a lot of disappointment, but I’m glad to have been able to show a side of me that I usually couldn’t. I’m happy to be ending my promotions amidst much love.”
When asked about her dramatic weight loss (recorded to be 39 kg at her lowest), she replied, “After I suddenly lost a lot of weight, I was met with a drop in stamina. Before, I had to go through about 20 rounds of my choreography before I was out of breath but now it gets tiring for me after just one stage.”
On promoting with 4minute again, she said, “I was lonely because I’m always with my members but had to be away from them. We couldn’t spend as much time as we used to so it was disappointing, but I’m glad to be back with them again.”
Due to her schedule, she also wasn’t able to attend 4minute’s Chungpyung MT. “I promised the members to all go on a trip together but I wasn’t able to go because of my solo activities. They went with our A Pink dongsaengs and it seems like they all got very close when they came back.”
Jokingly, she added, “I was a bit upset that they had so much fun that they didn’t notice my absence. Although I couldn’t join them this time, I’m going to make sure that we can all have a lot fun with 4minute next year.”

After abruptly concluding her “Bubble Pop!” promotions this week, 4minute’s HyunA will be making a comeback with her follow-up promotions for “Just Follow“.
On August 6th, a representative of Cube Entertainment revealed, “HyunA and the rest of the artists under Cube Entertainment are all busy preparing for the ‘United Cube‘ concert on August 14th. After the concert, HyunA will be going straight into her follow-up promotions at the end of the month.”
They continued, “Her follow-up song is ‘Just Follow’, a song that previously earned attention as an infectious hip hop-dance track featuring rapper Dok2. Fans will be able to see a new image of HyunA with the song’s heavy beats.”

It’s been announced that promotions for “Bubble Pop“, the hit summer track from 4minute’s HyunA, have been concluded prematurely.
According to a notice issued on August 4th by the Korea Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee (KCC), HyunA’s choreography and outfits for “Bubble Pop” were deemed to be ‘too sexually suggestive’, both in its music video and stage performances.
In response, Cube Entertainment has decided to conclude HyunA’s performances, who was supposed to participate in this week’s recordings for KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank‘, MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core‘, andSBS’s ‘Inkigayo‘.
A representative from Cube Entertainment stated, “The KCC called the music show PDs to discuss whether it was possible to change HyunA’s choreography. However, it was too short of a notice. Also, considering how the dance itself is a major element of her performance, there would have been no point to altering it.”
HyunA’s music video for “Bubble Pop” has also come under fire. Although it’s become a sensation overseas, garnering over 10 million views on YouTube alone, the KCC has stated that the music video should no longer air, citing that it was too suggestive and stimulating for public broadcast.
Consequently, HyunA will now move onto her follow-up promotions for “Just Follow“.
27 July:
HyunA responded to the accusations by saying, “I’m not seeking to be sexy. I try to be boyish sometimes and chic other times. In other words, I try to take on a variety of looks. Even if I dance with a different outfit each time, I want to make it mine.”
HyunA, who began dancing at 10 years old, continued, “For now, I want to work hard on showing variety on stage. I hope that with age, sexiness will come naturally for me.”

Because my facial development finished so early, people would often say to me, ‘Baby face didn’t change’, which always saddened me. allkpop has just received word from CUBE Entertainment that two new jacket photos have been unveiled today for HyunA’s mini-album. The jacket photos will be displayed on television monitors inside the nationwide convenience store chain, GS25. The chain has over 5000 outlets in the country. According to the press release, the displays were timed to coincide with the morning rush hour.
In the first picture, HyunA can be seen showing off her pure white skin in a swimsuit, holding a baseball and chewing bubble gum. She makes a dramatic transformation for the second photo, and the 4minute member can be seen proudly displaying her mysterious tattoo and striking a fierce look at the camera.
HyunA first made waves last January with her first debut single, “Change”. The 20-year-old rising star’s new mini-album will be unleashed on July 5th.

4minute’s HyunA previously revealed that she’d be making a return to her solo activities after 4minute concluded their first album promotions. On June 22nd, Cube Entertainment confirmed that she’ll make her comeback next month with a new mini-album!
Representatives revealed, “HyunA will begin her solo activities in the beginning of July. She is currently in the second half of recording for her album, and has already completed the album jacket photoshoot.”

On June 15th at 3:00 AM, HyunA uploaded these sel-ca pictures onto her Twitter. She wrote, “It looks like we won’t finish until 8 in the morning, haha.”
Revealing a face that’s free of makeup, fans immediately noticed how fatigued she looked in the pictures. They commented, “Fighting! You can do it”, and “You look tired, please sleep early.”

4minute’s HyunA recently undertook her first recording for MBC’s “Dancing with the Stars“, and she intrigued fans with her reflective tweets.
On June 9th, HyunA tweeted, “Thank you so, so much to all the fans who cheered me on. There are many things I regret from today, but I will smile and do well, thank you!”
Fans showed their strong support as they commented, “I am looking forward to HyunA’s dance the most” and “I think because she’s a singer, her dancing will be different from the others.”

They continued, “As soon as 4minute concludes their promotions, HyunA will be returning as a solo singer once again in June. She’s been preparing for her solo album diligently so far, and will be greeting fans with a mini-album.”

HyunA just enrolled as a freshman at Konkuk University this year and is currently majoring in the arts.
She said,
“At first, I was really worried. Since I’m a student and a celebrity, I thought, ‘What if they don’t view me in a nice way?’ Thankfully, professors and my fellow students are really nice to me and college life has been going well. I’ve been learning a lot of new things and it’s fun to discover new things. When I don’t have scheduled activities, I always go to school. Because of our recent comeback however, I’ve been too busy to go to school. The professors have been really understanding about it. I’m very thankful of that.“
HyunA is currently in the midst of “Mirror Mirror” promotions with 4minute.
Lee Gyun Do, who gained nationwide fame for walking 600km from Busan to Seoul, had a surprising meeting with 4minute’s HyunA.
A recent episode of KBS’s “Yeo Yu Man Man” documented the teenager with a developmental disability and his father’s ‘beautiful challenge’. The two successfully arrived in Seoul after a month, and took a nice short break in the city.
Lee Gyun Do, who revealed himself as being a big fan of 4minute’s, sang along to their songs and attended their signing session in Seoul.
HyunA surprised Lee Gyun Do by giving him a signed CD and even gave him a hug, making his wishes come true.
He commented, “I feel very very good. I fulfilled my wishes today.”
HyunA responded, “I’m very thankful that you made time to come and see me, and I hope you don’t get sick from now on. Let’s see each other again. Thank you.”

A picture recently posted by TATIST gave a crystal clear view of 4minute’s HyunA’s tattoo dedicated to her mother!
TATIST is a popular destination among many celebrities looking to get inked. Among their pool of famous clients, they have catered to the likes of JYJ’s Jaejoong and Yoochun, actor Lee Yong Woo, and many more.
HyunA’s tattoo is placed on her left shoulder blade, and it runs to the bottom nape of her neck. It reads, “My mother is the heart, that keeps me alive”, and is surrounded by four stars. Although she hasn’t discussed her tattoo publicly, we assume that it represents her close relationship with her mother.

In the teaser, HyunA says, “When I turned 20, I thought that the whole world would become mine. My thought wasn’t wrong. The world is cheering at me. Is it waiting for me?
