Singer Tony An will be working with a group for the first time in eight years.
According to a representative of Tony An’s, the entertainer and former member of H.O.T will be joining up with his idol group Smash.
Earlier, Tony An aroused curiosity when he tweeted, “I’m preparing to work in a group for the first time in eight years.” It turns out that that he’s been working on a collaboration album with Smash, with whom he recently completed photoshoot with for the album jacket.
Smash has already released five singles and a full album in Japan, making remarkable ground as they hit #5 on the Oricon Weekly.
Tony An and Smash will put on their first performance on March 1st via “M!Countdown”.

Solo artist Tony An announced that he would be returning to the music scene in a multi-member group, but he is keeping silent in regards to the details, evoking more curiosity amongst the public.
His representatives informed Star News on the 31st, “It is true that Tony An will be joining a group for the first time in 8 years, however, it is still in the works and therefore we are unable to reveal any of the details on this new project.”
When Star News asked if it has anything to do with a possible H.O.T reunion, the source replied that it was not.
The singer wrote via his official Twitter page the same day, “Surprise! I’m going to be promoting in a group for the first time in 8 years~ Wow how long has it been? We are working out, practicing, and recording together every day. Please look forward to a new us. D-31.”
Tony also previously wrote earlier this month, “New song release in early March! I will show you a whole new side of myself with this new song that I have yet to show you before.”
Tony An debuted in 1996 with the legendary old-school group, H.O.T. When the group disbanded in 2001, he and fellow members Jang Woo Hyuk and Lee Jae Won created jtL and promoted together until 2004. After jtL, he has been promoting as a solo singer ever since.

In Korea, ‘Pepero Day’ is a holiday celebrated mostly by young couples, in which they exchange packs of Pepero or other sweets to show their affection. In the picture, the two celebrities stand side-by-side as they warmly give the camera a ‘thumbs-up’. Though we’re sure that Tony An was standing to his full height, he barely reaches Choi Hong Man’s shoulders. It’s said that Tony An is 1m 75 tall and Choi Hong Man’s is 2m 18.

19 April:Tony An will be joining the long line of idol producers by producing his very own idol group under his agency, TN Entertainment.
Instead of following the current trend of girl groups, Tony An will be producing a boy group that’s scheduled for a debut in the latter half of the year. Speaking through Star News, he revealed, “For now, I believe the public will be able to see my idol group between summer and fall. The group consists of all male members.”

4 April:Former H.O.T member Tony An has finally dropped his new mini-album, “Top Star“, after dropping a few teasers in the form of album photos.
PSY had written the title track “Top Star“ as a gift for Tony. The song is an energetic dance track that definitely gets the listener to move with the beat.
Tony An wanted to play around with some different genres for his latest work, so that it’d be an exciting work to listen to, especially for those fans who waited so long for his return.
He will begin full promotions starting with M! Countdown on April 7th.

The ex-idol is stated to have a comeback on April 4th. However, all of his songs on his new mini album as well as the music video have been revealed accidentally on an online music site on April 2nd.
According to the singer’s agency on April 3rd, the premature release has been blamed on the music distribution site. The songs appeared on the site for two hours, and were deleted when Tony’s fans reported on the mistake.
TN Entertainment officially announced, “We’re sorry for unintentionally confusing the fans. Tony An’s mini album, ‘Top Star‘, will be released on April 4th along with the music video as planned, so we hope you anticipate its release.”

The single, titled “Thank U“, features guest raps from Supreme Team’s Simon D and is Tony An’s way of thanking fans who have stood by his side from the beginning. The singer decided to release this one song before his actual mini-album release to allow fans to enjoy something fresh.
Tony An also uploaded the above photo via Twitter on March 30th with a simple comment that read, “Thank U“.

MC Park Seul Gi asked, “As a senior of the idol industry, and as a CEO of an entertainment company, are there any idols that you’ve been keeping an eye on?” He answered, “Honestly, there are quite a few that I’d like to bring to my company, but a lot of them still have quite some time left in their contracts.”

Singer Tony Ahn revealed a weird habit of taking people home after drinking alcohol with them. On MBC “Section TV”, Tony Ahn had a street interview with VJ Park Seul Ki.
During a special corner where viewer’s questions about stars are answered, Park Seul Ki asked, “I heard that after you drink alcohol with someone, you take them home and sleep with them.” Upon hearing this question, Tony Ahn became flustered and his face turned red.
While Tony Ahn was flustered, Park Seul Ki asked what is the gender of the people that Tony Ahn took home. However, Tony Ahn regained his composure and wittily answered back.
Also, during the street date, a passerby was asked if she liked Tony Ahn. In response she stated, “I like him but after I saw him in person.. his wrinkles..” making everyone burst out into laughter.
