2PM finally reveals how they feel about their past leader’s comeback.
The group came out on June 21st at the BanYan Tree Resort & Spa in Seoul, where they shared their thoughts on Jay Park’s solo comeback. When the interviewer asked the group, the 2PM members stated, “We’re not sure.”
When members were asked what would happen if they met up with Jay again, they replied,
“We would only know if we actually met up with him.”
2PM concluded with,
“We’re only doing what we’ve got to do” and “we hope the best for the both of us.”
2PM has been pondering over their identity as idol stars.
In a recent interview, 2PM reflected, “We’ve been active for 4 years and as idols, we consider ourselves to be currently in the middle stages. We think of it is as a transitional stage, it’s like we’re going through puberty.”
Taecyeon expressed his thoughts saying, “I keep thinking whether we should remain as idol stars or if it is time for us to leap forward and try something new. It’s as if we’re children at the stage trying to find out our identity.”
Wooyoung also said, “They say that an idols’ third year is very critical. It’s not that there are issues with breaking up or disharmony. We’re realizing that it is a stage in which we ponder about what kind of change or upgrade needs to happen, other than being just simply an idol group.”
Taecyeon added, “4 years as an idol group. Though in relative terms it isn’t a long time, but for idols it’s pretty long. If we just trust in our popularity and bluff, we’re going to fall. We don’t want to cling to our popularity or get caught up in an illusion. We want to sincerely think over our days to come.”
So what do you think? Should 2PM continue with their idol image or keep evolving?
During a recent press conference, 2PM expressed their honest thoughts about SM’s European tour, “I Am A Singer“, and Jay Park.In regards to SM’s European concert in Paris a few weeks back, 2PM stated, “Because SM went to Europe, K-POP has been able to advance and move out of just the Asian regions. It’s very exciting to know that they crossed over Asia and had such a successful concert.”
Furthermore, they said, “When we heard the news about SM’s concert in Europe we were envious and thought that it was amazing at the same time. We, of course, want to be able to move on from Asia into Europe and even South America.”
Also during their interview, 2PM talked about being avid fans of “I Am A Singer“. They stated, “Even between us, ‘I Am A Singer’ is a popular topic. It is definitely one of our main interests.”
2PM said, “Because of our busy schedules we are never able to watch the regular broadcast, but through the internet we always catch up. ‘I Am A Singer’ is our best and main interest. While watching the show we think to ourselves, ‘Those people are true singers’. It motivates us to do better.”
They went on to say, “We think that through ‘I Am A Singer’, the younger generation that is only used to dance music will be able to appreciate and understand emotion. While in Japan we struggled a lot because we couldn’t download ‘I Am A Singer’. The internet was so slow that we had to wait a long time and watch 5 minutes of the show and then wait again for it to load and watch another 5 minutes. We were in front of the computer all day just to see one performance.”
On the other hand, 2PM released a new single “Hands Up” and has full comeback activities planned. “Hands Up” has reached the #1 spot on multiple charts and is gaining much popularity.
The members of 2PM also opened up about former member Jay Park.
When asked, “Jae Bum has recently released a new album and started solo activities. How do you feel about this?” 2PM answered, “We think that we are walking down our own paths now. We hope that everyone becomes successful and does well.”
Wooyoung said, “In a sense, I think it’s time that we go our separate ways. I want to look forward to Jaebum and the music he wants to do. I would like for us to try our best to fulfill our dreams.”
Nichkhun added to this by saying, “I hope both sides will do their best going down their own path and I would like everyone to become successful.”

With their 3rd anniversary quickly approaching, 2PM has already become one of the ’seniors’ of idol groups. In that sense, 2PM revealed that concerns such as their future direction, and establishing their identity have been their focus.“We heard that 4minute is the top senior group from the pool of recent idols. Time has passed so quickly that we’re called seniors as well, but we’re not sure if we have the image of a senior. When we first debuted, there were a bunch of seniors, but now there’s quite a large number of new idols along with the pool of idols that debuted around our time. Its already been 3 years and it’s nice, but it’s also a time of risk where our fresh / rawness may disappear. So we chose an enthusiastic theme for our recent album, because we wanted to show our energetic side, as well as showing that we haven’t changed from when we first debuted.”
Especially since they had some issues that arose since their debut, sharing the varying emotions of both tears and laughs, they have bonded as a group that much more.
“Some people say our image makes it seem like we like to party and have a lot of fun at clubs, but we actually haven’t been to a club in quite a while. When we have some free time, we rest at our dorm and spend time with each other. Additionally, contrary to popular beliefs we also rarely talk about girl groups. When we first debuted, everything was so magical, but we just aren’t the same anymore. We’re more aware and cautious now. We worry about our future, and because of the troubles we went through, we hold each other closer and seem to have more serious discussions“.
2PM says that they’ve made a promise to not cause problems–because an individual fault could cause damage to the whole group.
They’ve chosen to become one as a ‘team’. From ‘beasts’ to ‘friendly neighborhood hyungs’, they’re looking for another direction to thrive in.
“There’s no guarantee that the public will continue to like the ‘beast’ image. We feel a lot of things recently watching the show “I Am a Singer”. As “I Am a Singer” has become a hit show by fulfilling previously unreachable expectations, we believe that idols should work to do the same in fulfilling an area where idols could fill for the people. We will evolve to become better and continue to work hard to receive love from everyone“.

Via tokyohive:
Earlier today it was revealed that Korean boyband 2PM will make an appearance in the currently running “BOSS 2” drama airing on Fuji TV.The six boys recently recorded their part and played themselves for their role while performing in a club. Osawa Eriko (Amami Yuki), the boss of a unique group of detectives, and one of her subordinates, the gay Iwai Zenji (Kendo Kobayashi) dropped by the club while the group performed their popular song “Heartbeat“.
The producer of the drama explained that, since both Osawa and Iwai are interested in men such asGeorge Clooney, the “Beasts” of 2PM would definitely fit into the category of their ideal types as well. When they were given the opportunity to appear in the drama the group immediately accepted the offer and while some of the members already appeared in Korean dramas, this marks the first time where they all appear in a drama together.
They filmed the scenes in the club earlier this month where 70 lucky fans of 2PM were invited as extras and encouraged to cheer for their idols in order to make it look like a genuine performance. Of course the ending of the “Heartbeat” didn’t miss the obligatory shirt-ripping that increased the excitement of the fans and cast even further.
Amami commented, “They really grabbed my heart, while filming I totally forgot about the drama and just screamed (with the fans). They’re beautiful beasts that sing and dance vibrantly.”
2PM member Junsu stated, “It is an honor for 2PM to appear in this drama.” Furthermore all the members agreed on the incredible charisma of Amami stating, “She is a fascinating female boss.”

Meanwhile, Nichkhun and Taecyeon worked the crowd with “My Valentine“, and Junsu performed his self-composed track, “Don’t Go,” with special guest Lim Jung Hee.
2PM commented, “We had a fun time with those who always love and support us. Although it was hard preparing for it amidst our busy schedules, we feel re-energized after seeing our fans’ smiles and definitely feel the need to work even harder. It was the best day of our lives, and we’d like to thank our fans once again for being with us. We’ll become a 2PM that works to never forget the love of our fans and the touching moments they present us.”

16 Maret:
The boys of 2PM will finally get their own rooms, as it was reported that the group has recently moved to a large villa near their agency in Seoul Cheongdamdong.
The villa they are reported to be moving to has six rooms, one for each member, and the members are said to have paid for the rent equally.
Prior to this arrangement, the members shared rooms and lived in their dorms with only three rooms between them. However, although 2PM does not have reason to live together anymore, as they have enough money to live in their own place, they are continuing to live in a dorm setup, saying, “I don’t want to be away from my close members“.
The members reportedly said that in their old environment, two or three members slept in the same room, and that created situations which were unbearably uncomfortable. However, they are very happy at the fact that they are now each getting their own rooms.
A representative from JYP Entertainment said, “The members don’t go home when told to return to their dorm. When they don’t have a schedule, they just stay in their dorm or come to the office and play around. They don’t really know how to go to bars or places like that, so sometimes they ask the office staff to buy them a drink. There is a sake bar near their dorm, so that’s where they all go sometimes. The members are very close, so they only hang out by themselves“.
9 Maret:Although 2PM’s debut in Japan is still a month away, their debut single “Take Off” has been topping many pre-order charts, especially with Tower Records‘!
Tower Records Japan revealed that all three versions of the single placed in the top three slots of their chart. “Take Off” will be distributed in ‘Regular Edition‘, ‘Limited Edition Version A (CD + DVD)‘, and ‘Limited Edition Version B (CD + Photo book)‘.
Many are expecting 2PM to grab an ‘all-kill’, for they could very well combine the future successes of “Take Off” with their past Oricon Charts domination. The boys made headlines late last year when their Japanese DVD, “Hottest“, ranked extremely high for both its pre-sales and sales figures.
JYP Japan stated, “2PM’s last Japanese endeavor with their DVD raised many expectations and created much interest in the group. 2PM will start their full-fledged activities in Japan, and will do their best to be successful. Whether in Korea or Japan, always cheer them on.”
8 Maret: 2PM has finally begun preparations for their official Japanese debut!

On May 9th, 2PM will be releasing a compilation album and a special video that was produced by the members themselves, titled “All About 2PM“. Their debut single is scheduled to hit shelves on May 18th.

5 Maret:
With an all-kill on Recochoku earlier last year under their belt, the boys of 2PM have now landed another opportunity to reach more Japanese fans through the upcoming manga-turned-anime, “Ao no Exorcist” (“Blue Exorcist“). The six will be singing the ending theme song for the show, although the song title has yet to be announced. 2PM is planning to make their official Japanese debut in the spring of 2011.
It looks as if – at least for now- 1/3 of JYP Entertainment’s plan for world domination is coming along nicely.
