On November 28th, actress Park Shin Hye confessed that she’s facing difficulties juggling both her academics and her life as an actress.
Park Shin Hye tweeted, “Ever since I became a college student, this semester has really been the worst.”
The actress continued, “I should’ve just taken [academic] leave and travelled. My tuition fee has gone to such waste. I said to myself that even if it was hard, I’d keep it in and do whatever I could to keep going, but I can’t take it anymore. I don’t want to do anything right now. Rest… The only thing I need right now is rest.”
Park Shin Hye is currently a student at Joong Ang University as a Theater and Film major. In these recent weeks, Park Shin Hye has been traveling back and forth to fulfill both her overseas promotions and attend classes.
What seemed like a bright smile from the outside was in fact a facade to cover her true struggles within.
Concerned netizens replied with supportive messages like, “Be strong, Shin Hye”, “It’s not like you’ve been neglecting your studies because you’ve been out partying, so don’t be so disappointed,” and “The fact that she’s sacrificing so much for her career right now proves she’s a true actress”.
7 November:
Actress Park Shin Hye will leave for China on November 7th to appear on the popular Chinese entertainment program, ‘Day Day Up‘.
With a dating reality show premise, ‘Day Day Up’ is a TV show broadcast by Hunan TV and is crowned as the #1 entertainment program in China for two consecutive years. It has featured international leaders and celebrities such as Bill Gates, David Beckham, U2, and Kimura Takuya.
Park Shin Hye will both talk and sing during her feature on the show. The actress has an established popularity in China as she was awarded the ‘Asia’s Popular Star Award’ in the 2011 LETV Movie & Drama Awards in August.
6 October:
Actress Park Shin Hye recently returned from a volunteer trip in Ghana as an honorary ambassador for the non-profit organization, ‘KFHI‘ (Korea Food for the Hungry International).
KFHI’s ‘STOP HUNGER’ campaign was held in Ghana from September 24th to October 2nd to help promote ’2011 World Food Day’, which will take place on October 16th.
Working with other KFHI volunteers, Park Shin Hye spent time with children suffering from poverty and illness. She give out food provision kits and mosquito nets, and also took children suffering from malaria to the hospital.
While in Ghana, the actress developed a special relationship with a young girl named Abana who has no parents and lives with her grandmother. Park Shin Hye acted as Abana’s mother for the day by giving her a bath, going to the market with her, cooking her food, and helping to provide Abana’s kindergarten with meals.
It’s said that Park Shin Hye shed tears after spending time with Abana, who always had a bright smile on her face despite being physically slight because of malnourishment.
The actress commented, “Becoming a child’s mother made me very happy, but it also broke my heart. These children gain so much strength from even a little interest and love. Our help will symbolize life and hope for these children. I hope our warm interest and love will be able to help them.”
This ‘STOP HUNGER’ campaign trip will be aired as a special documentary through MBC on October 15th.

Actress Park Shin Hye showed off her friendship with F.T. Island by taking a sweet photo with the band members during F.T. Island’s concert.
On August 21st, she tweeted “Seung seung sang~Daebak~Happy Birthday~I’ll buy a meal, Hong-star~You’re the best, Jonghun…um…so um…F.T. Island daebak“.
Park Shin Hye attended F.T. Island’s ‘Play F.T. Island 2011 in Seoul‘ concert on August 20th. In the photo, Park Shin Hye is posing cozily with the beaming F.T. Island members.

Actress Park Shin Hye recently shared that she would like to stand on the post-season mound for theKIA Tigers baseball team.
She revealed, “I’m personally a KIA fan. KIA fans always tweet me asking me to throw the first pitch for them, but KIA has yet to contact me about that yet.”
She laughed and added, “I’d really like to for the post-season, so please contact me!”
Park Shin Hye threw the first pitch back in 2006 for the play-off between KIA and Hanhwa and impressed everyone by throwing with her left hand, which earned her the nickname, ‘Randy Shin Hye’.
She continued, “I’ve always been a fan of Lee Jong Bum, but I like Kim Sun Bin and An Chi Honglately. There’s been a lot of injuries within KIA lately, so it worries me. I’m not that worried thanks to the newly added Lee Bum Ho, since he’s doing so well lately.”

Park Shin Hye has recently posted innocent barefaced pictures of herself.
On June 15th, the actress tweeted, “I want to sleep too. I woke up from sleep while riding the car home. Ok whatever. I have to start preparing to go out now. Jeju Island wait, Kyu Won is cominggggg“, and uploaded two spectacular photos.
In the pictures, Park Shin Hye is showcasing her innocent charms with no makeup on her face. Her clear and soft skin is especially noticeable.
The actress is currently filming for MBC’s “You’ve Fallen For Me“, playing the role of Lee Kyu Won. The new drama is set to air on June 29th for the first time.

It seems that actress Park Shin Hye is well on her way to becoming the next Hallyu star, thanks to her explosive popularity in Taiwan.
On June 12th, Park Shin Hye visited Taiwan to promote her GTV drama, “Hayate the Combat Butler“. Not only did her fans flood the Taipei airport, but they also managed to freeze the streets of Ximending, which immediately caught the attention of local press.
Fans queued up in the airport with placards and matching t-shirts that said, “Our ♡ Park Shin Hye“. Hundreds of fans and press members also gathered for a fan meet that was held with the rest of the “Hayate the Combat Butler” cast.
Despite the sweltering heat, Park Shin Hye responded to each of her fans with sweet smiles. Two hundred lucky fans also got to take a Polaroid picture with her, as well as receive a personal handshake.
“Hayate the Combat Butler” will begin airing in Taiwan on June 19th.

On March 30th, actress Park Shin Hye guested on MBC FM4U’s “Jung Yeob’s Blue Night” and updated fans on her recent whereabouts.
She revealed, “During my break, I went overseas and found that I had a Russian fanclub with over 2,000 members. I’d love to receive an opportunity to do a Russian CF sometime.”
The actress was then asked to rank her former co-stars (Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Min Ho, Kim Bum, and Yoo Seung Ho) based on her feelings of who couldn’t get past the ‘friend zone’. First place was taken by Lee Min Ho, while Yoo Seung Ho placed fifth.
Park Shin Hye explained, “Despite Yoo Seung Ho choosing me as his ideal woman some time ago, he hit me really hard in a ”ttakbam’ game. It actually made him seem more like a close friend to me.”
She also addressed a recent picture, where she looked depressed over the deadlines for her class registrations. She clarified, “I was able to register for all of my classes by the deadline, but I eventually had to take academic leave for my drama schedule. I feel really apologetic for that.”
While guesting on the radio show, she decided to sing a live version of her song, “It Was You“. She later commented, “I’d love to guest in a song with Brown Eyed Soul.”
15 Maret:Park Shin Hye attended an event for the luxury Italian brand Salvatore Ferragamo as the only Korean representative.
On March 10th, the actress attended the ‘Salvatore Ferregamo Spring/Summer Collection Singapore Launching‘, which was held in Singapore’s Paragon Department Store. Many international Ferregamo representatives attended the event, and Park Shin Hye received the spotlight for being the only foreign actress to be invited to the exclusive show.
The actress’ works – such as the SBS drama “You’re Beautiful” and movie “Cyrano Agency” – garnered lots of popularity in Singapore, which earned her an invitation to this ultra-luxurious event. She received much attention by wearing a new mini-dress from the line’s 2011 S/S Collection.
On March 14th, Park Shin Hye expressed through her agency, “It was my first time in Singapore and I’m very thankful many people welcomed me. I’m very thankful for this experience. If I have the opportunity, I’d love to come again.”
The actress was recently cast in the new MBC drama “Festival” alongside CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa.
