On October 16th, the members of SHINee visited the ‘2011-2012 KB National Card Professional Basketball‘ game between the Seoul Samsung Thunders and Changwon LG Sakers at the Seoul Jamshil Indoor Gymasnium.
SHINee kicked off the match with a ‘shoot the hoops’ session and put on a mini-concert at the half-time for the show. Samsung Electronics also provided a variety of events for the audience members by providing cookies and restaurant certificates.
Professional baseball team LG Twins has set up a special charity auction featuring baseballs signed by many of Korea’s top stars.
On July 20th, a representative of LG Twins stated, “We are holding a love auction to sell signed baseballs from stars who have pitched for this season’s games.”
LG Twins will host an online auction from July 22nd to the 24th on their official website.
The auction boasts of baseballs signed by Kim Tae Hee, Song Joong Ki, Kim Bum Soo, Tiger JK,Yoon Mi Rae, and Sung Si Kyung, all of whom had pitched for the team earlier this season.
All the profits from the auction will be used to help children suffering from serious illnesses, and to help support the dreams of middle and high school baseball players.
On June 26th, a basketball game with celebrities and real ball players took place in the Seoul Jamsil Gymnasium.
The game was for the program “Again 1995! Basketball Go Yeon Jeon” on cable channel XTM, and the celebrity team was named “Rainbow Stars”.
There was the Hong Team and the Baek Team, and the Baek Team had J.Y.Park and Kim Tae Woo. The Hong Team had Julian and 2AM’s Jinwoon, along with others. Both teams had professional players, so the game was quite a sight for those who were present in the stands.
J.Y. Park did not lag behind his hubaes, who are much younger than him.
He commented, “I think basketball and football are sports that are most similar to dancing. I always play a game each week. I dance around two hours at a concert, but I only need to run 40 minutes for basketball. Dancing is harder and benefits your fitness skills.”
Regarding the game, he said, “Moon Kyung Eun is a friend, Lee Sang Min and Woo Ji Won are close hubaes. We played games during school. I’m happy to be a part of a meaningful game.”
On June 15th, JYJ’s Junsu showed off his impressive football skills at Park Ji Sung’s charity match, “Doosan Asian Dream Cup 2011“, which was held in Vietnam.
JYJ opened up the event with a performance that electrified everyone in the stadium. Kim Junsu then joined the second half of the match to replace Lee Jae Kwan (Korea University); he played alongside football stars like Ki Sung Yueng (Celtic FC), Park Chu Young (AS Monaco), and Park Ji Sung (Manchester United) for a total of 20 minutes.
Since he’s the leader of celebrity football team ‘FC MEN‘, his skills were of no surprise to fans. Junsu even managed to keep up with pros for the full 20 minutes!
In the end, the ‘JS Friends‘ team lost to the ‘Navibank FC‘ with a final score of 3-4.
As reported earlier, the members of JYJ and actress Han Hye Jin will be joining Park Ji Sung’s soccer charity event in Vietnam.
Park Ji Sung, who previously established JS Foundation (charity foundation), will be holding his first ever “Asian Dream Cup 2011” charity on June 15th at a stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
The above-mentioned took part in a press conference today, and this was followed by an evening flight to Vietnam. JYJ’s Yoochun will be leaving on a later flight due to filming commitments for “Miss Ripley“.

Held at the Big Bird stadium, the Suwon Bluewings came up with a unique event in celebration of theChuseok holiday. The FC Men was the fifth team up against the Suwon FMC, a female soccer team. FC Men previously went against the Incheon Design School team back in April and won with a score of 5:0 thanks to an impressive hat track by Junsu, so fans were highly anticipative of the results this time around.
In the end, the Suwon FMC came away with a win, the final score being 3:2.
Fans on scene received the opportunity to win autographed soccer balls by the FC Men and various other memorabilia.
25 April:On April 24th, celebrity soccer team FC MEN took home a 5-0 win in the opening game against the Incheon Design High School’s female soccer team.
JYJ’s Junsu, who was chosen as the MVP of the day, commented, “It was our first time being on ground of an official stadium. First and foremost, I’m glad that no one was injured today. It was because of the support of our fans that we were able to achieve such great results.”
The FC MEN also participated in the “Love Auction” charity by putting their uniforms up for auction on the 15th. All proceeds were donated to the Social Welfare Society, and Junsu has expressed that he will continue to actively participate in more charitable events.

Recently, U-KISS’sleader Soo Hyun sat down with TV Daily to express his thoughts about becoming the new addition of the celebrity male soccer team, ‘FC MEN’, where he revealed that it was actually thanks to JYJ Junsu’s twin brother, Junho, who helped him become a part of the team.
Soo Hyun stated, “I met with Junho hyung a few times during our promotions in China. We had always greeted one another and got along well, but once we recently met at the cinemas out of coincidence.’
He continued, “Junho hyung asked me if I liked soccer, and I said that I liked it even during elementary school. Hyung said he was going to make a soccer team, and asked if I was interested, which is how I became a part of the team.”
The current team members of FC MEN are: JYJ’s Yoochun, Junsu and Kim Jae Joong, Kim Hyun Joong, B2ST’s Doojoon and Lee Ki Kwang, 2AM’s Changmin, Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo, model Im Joo Hwan, gagman Park Sung Kwang, and actors Park Gun Hyung, Song Joong Ki, Kim Bum and Lee Wan. Professional soccer player Jung Sung Ryong offered to take the position of coach and manager, with gagwoman Park Ji Sun as their road manager.
Soo Hyung added, “Now that I think about it, there are a lot of people on our team. I personally really enjoy soccer a lot, so I’m really happy that I was given this opportunity. Unfortunately, because of the release of our new fifth mini-album, my schedules have become busier and I haven’t been able to play once. I really want to get on the field.”
FC Men will be holding a friendly match against three other rival celebrity teams come April 15th for the ‘2011 Peace Star Cup Celebrity Soccer Championship’, to be held at the Suwon World Cup Stadium inGyeonggi-do.
