22 May:
It’s been four months since Dal Shabet‘s promotions for “Hit U“, and now the group is reported to be making a comeback next month with their first full-length album.
Happy Face Entertainment stated on May 22 that Dal Shabet will hold a showcase in celebration of the album’s release on June 5 at Seoul’s CGV Cinecity’s M Cube. A representative from the agency stated, “We’ve prepared the showcase in secret with their comeback in sight. Rather than a deluxe showcase, we plan to make it full of content.”
The upcoming album is reported to have a total of 13 tracks, including 4 previous hits, 1 intro track, and 8 brand new songs. Its title track was produced by E-Tribe, and will feature a brighter side of Dal Shabet.
The label representative described, “It’s a song that has a melody that’s bright and fun to fit in with summer. It’s definitely noticeable that it has a different appeal than the sexy concept of ‘Hit U’.”
Dal Shabet’s first full-length album will be released on June 7.
Girl group Dal Shabet have returned with their 4th mini album, ‘Hit U‘!
This mini album is comprised of six tracks, two of which are remixes. The girls will be promoting “Hit U” as their main song, but they’ll also be bringing “Fire It Up” as their intro theme. If the sassiness of “Hit U” and “Fire It Up” aren’t really your thing, you might want to try out “Chu My Boy“, a track that perfectly melds a late-’90s urban vibe with the sweet vocals of Dal Shabet.
Dal Shabetshocked their fans with a dramatic MV teaser for their new song, “Hit U“, and now they’re back to finish the job!
On January 27th, the girls released their 4th mini-album, ‘Hit U‘, which is also the title of their lead track. In their MV, Jiyul plays the lover of an irresponsible man, who toyed with her once and is now trying to get her back. Her response? She stampedes through his hallway to plug bullets into his chest.
Dal Shabetis aiming to shake up the industry with their music video for “Hit U“!
On January 18th, Dal Shabet released a MV teaser that shot their sweet-as-candy girl group image to pieces. (Literally.) Fans are already calling this concept ‘Dark Shabet’, and have expressed eagerness for the full version. Check out the MV teaser below!
On January 6th, Dal Shabet‘s Serri reflected on the group’s debut and the obstacles they faced while on the set of their music video shoot for their comeback track, “Hit U“.
Serri began, “Dal Shabet was connected to Girls’ Generation immediately after our debut, and articles were released stating that, which wasn’t good to watch. At the time of my debut, I got in the headlines for resembling Wonder Girls‘ Sunye and Girls’ Generation member Jessica, which brought a lot of hateful replies that hurt me.”
Because Dal Shabet was produced by E-TRIBE, the composers behind Girls’ Generation’s hit song “Gee“, many netizens began calling them the ‘second Girls’ Generation’, which in turn instigated protests and a large anti-fan population.
Serri continued, “I was really shocked and at a loss on what to do whenever I heard people say, ‘How could you be Girls’ Generation? You’re too ugly.’ Now that a year has past, I’m glad to say that Dal Shabet has found their own color.”
She added, “Now that we’re a year into our debut, our individual members have been promoting on their own and have created names for themselves that people can recognize. We’re not going to try to get in the headlines for resembling other people, but rather just work hard on our own and get our identity out there.”
Three-member ballad group, 4MEN, recently exhibited their strong friendship with idol group, Dal Shabet.
On August 12th, 4MEN made a surprise visit to Dal Shabet’s ‘Music Bank‘ waiting room, as the girls waited for their comeback stage.
Despite the heavy rain, 4MEN decided to drop by to show their support for Dal Shabet’s “Bling Bling” comeback. The two groups talked about the new mini-album and comeback stage, and even took a friendly photo to show off their close friendship.
On January 3rd, Happy Face Entertainment revealed, “Jiyul has been receiving casting offers from dramas and movies that are currently in the production stages.”
From public networks to cable channels and the newly-launched joint channels, Jiyul has been scouted for dramas of various genres like comedy and romance. Having debuted exactly a year ago, she’s made a handful of cameos in ‘Dream High‘ and ‘Wonderful Radio‘, and has been taking acting classes in college.
Her agency began accepting roles for her once they saw her potential in the music video for 4Men andMi‘s “That Man, That Woman“.
Happy Face continued, “We’ll be finalizing everything by the beginning of the year at the earliest. Since Dal Shabet also has a comeback planned, we don’t want to rush things; we want to make sure Jiyul plays a role she feels comfortable with.”
It has been revealed that Dal Shabet’s Jiyul recently suffered from myositis (muscle inflammation).
Prior to Dal Shabet’s “Bling Bling” comeback, Jiyul received hospital treatment for myositis after experiencing severe pain in her left arm and leg during choreography practices.
A company representative stated, “It differed for each member, but all of them did feel some pain in their left arms and legs. Later, we found out that the strain was linked to the choreography, which required a lot of left-sided movements – all because the choreographer was left-handed.”
In fact, the choreography for Dal Shabet’s “Supa Dupa Diva“, “Pink Rocket“, and “Bling Bling” all have several moves that require the use of the left hip, arm, and leg.
The choreographer, Kim Na Rae, is a left-handed person. Because of her habit, the choreographer unknowingly included many left-sided moves in her choreography. The six Dal Shabet members, who are all right-handed, were forced to use their less developed, left-sided muscles, and eventually reached the point where they had to be hospitalized.
A company representative jokingly commented, “We began promotions after Jiyul received treatment and recovered. The members are slowly getting used to the choreography now.”
Girl groups are just getting thinner and thinner by the day! Recently, Dal Shabet’s Jiyul joined the long line of girl groups dieting before their comebacks by revealing that she had lost 5 kg for “Bling Bling“.
Jiyul earned the nickname ‘Piglet’ from Dal Shabet fans for her adorable looks, and has always been regarded as the ‘cutie member’. In order to give her image a “Bling Bling” change, she worked with a trainer and dieted to drop some extra pounds.
Jiyul said, “I first began exercising in order to keep my stamina up for our busy schedule. However, I began to get greedy in wanting to show a more perfect image to my fans, something that fit bitter to our new album’s concept. I hope to show a more mature and feminine image through our third mini-album.”
