It has been six long years since the beautiful ladies of Brown Eyed Girls made their debut!
Although their first two albums were considered to be disappointments, the group made a drastic image transformation through their 2008 hit single “L.O.V.E“. As if that wasn’t enough, the girls reached even further heights with “Abracadabra” in 2009 and “Sixth Sense” in 2011.
To celebrate the occasion, member Jea wrote on her Twitter, “BEG’s 6th anniversary!!! Clap clap clap!! I think I’m going to tear up tonight. Although we had some hardships since the release of our first album, I feel that we held on and endured it well. Thanks to you guys, we were able to continue to enjoy and produce great music. I love you!”
Fans congratuled the girls saying, “It’s already the 6th year?! It seems like the 5th year was just yesterday“, “Adult-dols, congratulations!“, and “You guys are 6 year old elementary students now! Congratulations.”
In addition, one particular fan congratulated the lovely ladies in a unique but comical way through a video featuring Barack Obama.

After performing the final stage of their follow-up track “Cleansing Cream” on this week’s ‘Music Bank’, the Brown Eyed Girls sat down with My Daily and expressed their thoughts on ending their promotions for their 4th album.
Commenting on their two-month long album promotions, the girls explained, “Our fans who waited so long for us told us our 4th album promotions were too short, but we didn’t feel it was short at all. That’s why we put forth all our energy for all the people who’ve loved and supported the Brown Eyed Girls.”
They continued, “Due to our pre-scheduled overseas promotions, shortening our official comeback promotions like this was inevitable. We’re very sad ourselves that our official promotions had to come to an end.”
“With that said, we still have a lot of Korean schedules to fulfill until January of next year. All of us are looking forward to enjoying our upcoming performances with our fans,” said the members.
When asked what they found most difficult during their promotional period, the girls answered, “What was specially hard for all members was the live singing.”
They elaborated, “There were times when a venue’s sound system wasn’t suitable for a live stage, and when it’s really bad, we’d have no choice but to lip sync. But every one of our performances during these promotions were live. That’s why our voices aren’t in very good condition right now.”
The girls also added that they found it especially hard to sing when their stages were installed with various pyrotechnics, which gave off heavy fumes.
Not only that, but the members felt their stamina declined considerably due to the heavy demands of their powerful choreography. “People who watched our performances would’ve felt it too,” they said.
To conclude, the Brown Eyed Girls stated, “There seems to be a lot of fans who are disappointed that we had to end our promotions so soon, but you only need to wait a little while longer until Miryo andJea release their own solo albums. Because we got to rest a lot before these promotions, we’re thinking of holding more concerts and fan meetings for our fans in the future. Us members are looking forward to it, too.”

The Brown Eyed Girls are preparing to seize the charts again, this time with their repackaged album for “Sixth Sense“. They kicked off their teaser cycle with an MV preview for their oddly-named song, “Cleansing Cream“.
The preview seems to promise an artistic video, one that’s not as loud as “Sixth Sense” perhaps, but may be just as symbolic.
The video starts off with an innocent-looking girl who seems to be lost in her own world, before it spirals down to an sinister scene in a bedroom. The teaser then pans to a shot of a girl in a boudoir, who contemplates a mirror with a face full of makeup and madness.

31 October:
Earlier, we reported that the talented female group Brown Eyed Girls would be releasing a repackaged album. To tease us, the girls just released photos from their 4th repackaged special edition album.
The photos released in this teaser are much different from the concept photos of the ladies fourth official album, ‘Sixth Sense‘, which was released on September 23rd. If the ‘Sixth Sense’ album’s concept was dark and intense, the photos this time around give off a much more bright and feminine vibe with vivid, colorful eye makeup and lipstick.
Their agency stated, “Despite the two year hiatus, for all the love people have shown the 4th album, this special repackaged album was prepared to express our gratitude for our fans in Korea, as well as overseas… Through the special edition album, we plan to reveal pictures of Brown Eyed Girls that have never been revealed before.”
The repackaged album will be released on November 4th with the original songs included in the ‘Sixth Sense’ album as well as one new title track (a ballad), a film of making of the music video, and a special photospread calendar, and a ‘Thanks to’ written by the members.
30 October:
The Brown Eyed Girls will be revealing their ‘Sixth Sense’ repackaged album on November 4th. In addition to the previous tracks on the original ‘Sixth Sense’ album, a new title track will be included.
For the past five years, Brown Eyed Girls have been loved by fans for their electronice pop dance title tracks. However, this time around, the girls have chosen a sad, emotional ballad. Although they have included ballads in their albums, this will only be the second time that they will promote a ballad as a title track.
The last time the group used a ballad as their title track was back in 2006, for their 1st official album with ‘Come Close to Me’. After 5 years and 8 months, the members will be returning to their roots and will begin their promotions with a ballad as their title track.
Their agency stated, “Although the final title has not yet been chosen, this song will be an emotional ballad that will touch the heart as soon as you hear it… Although there are many styles of ballads, this will be a style that Brown Eyed Girls will be attempting for the first time… The members have high expectations for this new challenge.”
Recently, member Ga-in revealed, “This will be the most exceptional song and stage in the history of Brown Eyed Girls.”
Brown Eyed Girls will return to the stage with their new ballad track through KBS’s ‘Music Bank‘ on the day of the release of the new repackaged album.
16 October:
On October 16th, the Brown Eyed Girls celebrated their ‘Inkigayo Mutizen’ win for “Sixth Sense” with none other than Ga-In‘s former ‘husband’, 2AM‘s Jo Kwon!
Jo Kwon updated his Twitter by writing, “Brown Eyed Girls ! A picture to congratulate their win on ‘Inkigayo‘ ! Before my debut, I was a total fan of the nunas singing ‘Close to Me‘. I’m an even bigger fan now. Jea nuna! I know how you feel! Don’t cry!”
Standing with the girls in their respective “Sixth Sense” poses, Jo Kwon fits right in as the honorary fifth member of the group.
Netizens commented, “Jo Kwon still takes care of Ga-In so well”, and “Ga-In looks so chic!”

The ladies of the talented vocal group Brown Eyed Girls have returned after two long years. They recently released their 4th album and are actively promoting their new track “Sixth Sense“, stimulating the ‘sixth sense’ of listeners everywhere.
The Brown Eyed Girls were chosen for ‘The Star‘ ‘s 100th interview, and for the interview they openly and honestly answered the 11 questions they were asked. Check out their interview summary below!
‘Sixth Sense‘ is a track in which you can hear just how broad the girls’ vocal ranges are, and the song beings with JeA’s powerful high-pitched singing followed by Ga-in & Narsha.
Narsha remarked, “We think that upon hearing ‘Sixth Sense, the public will no longer categorize us with the other girl groups but rather acknowledge that we have successfully distinguished ourselves.”
And JeA who takes part in writing and composing her own songs revealed that she would like to write a song for idol group ‘Infinite‘. She stated, “They’re a group of diverse, talented singers. If they ever put in a request, I would so gladly write a song for them (laughs).” When Miryo was asked which idol group she would like to collaborate with, she also chose Infinite.
Ga-in was then asked which male actor she would like to film a melo-dramatic romance with. (Note: By melo-dramatic romance, ‘The Star‘ meant the kind that you watch with a box of kleenex, but Miryo and Narsha understood it completely differently as an R-rated sensuous romance, making Ga-in a bit hesitant before answering.) Ga-in then chose Song Kang Ho from the movie Blue Salt.
Narsha also picked Ki kwang of B2ST as the idol she would most like to keep as an adorable ‘pet’. Miryo and JeA agreed that he seemed like the nice, adorable little brother type.
The girls also responded well when asked random questions like, “How would you promote world peace?”. Their response was, “Recycle more. All four of us want to make sure every child in the world gets a proper education.” Miryo also added that once ‘Sixth Sense’ becomes a hit, the girls would like to travel the world performing, and help promote world peace.
‘The Star (www.the-star.co.kr)’ will be giving away autographed photos as well as the girls’ new album to a selected netizen who generously comments on the interview with the BEG. The winner will be announced on the 28th.5 October:
The Brown Eyed Girls threw their all into revamping their image, and the results were definitely jaw-dropping. A recent photo shared by member Narsha revealed that the girls brought a sleek figure to match their femme fatale concept.
A photo of Narsha and Miryo showing off their S-lines was shared on October 4th through Narsha’s Twitter.
She explained, ”A girls’ trip to KBS’s “Sketch Book”!”
In the photo, Narsha and Miryo give a dramatic pose to emphasize their svelte ‘S-line’, and fans were wowed by their tiny waists.
Netizens commented, “I’d be able to wrap my hand around your waist with one hand”, “Narsha’s S-line is amazing”, “They have an appeal that can’t be hidden”, and “They’re both so pretty”.
26 September:
It has been reported that the Brown Eyed Girls have been sustaining the number one spot on music charts for the fourth consecutive day!
After a killer performance of their new, fourth album title track, “Sixth Sense” at MBC ‘Music Core‘, the girls swept first place on almost every music chart in Korea. Well it looks like they have been holding the spot for the 4th consecutive day as their name was seen on the top spot of many charts including Melon, Mnet, Soribada, and Olleh Music.
Composer Lee Min Soo and writer Kim Yi Na collaborated together to create “Sixth Sense”. The music video caught a lot of attention due to it’s never before seen exotic concept. Furthermore, the girls were praised for their confidence and capability of singing in extreme high tones during their stage performance.
In the past, the Brown Eyed girls mentioned, “There were a lot of fans yearning for the past when we debuted as a vocal group. However, we couldn’t give up on dancing. We tried our best to satisfy all of our fans by singing like the time when we were a vocal group, but also retaining our “Abracadabra” style.”
For the first time in two years, the Brown Eyed Girls sat down for an interview with reporters. The first question asked was about the girls’ intensive preparation period.
They replied, “We feel like our lives have been curtailed.”
After hitting home runs with “How Come” and “Abracadabra“, the girls were under immense pressure to follow up with something even stronger while simultaneously having to worry about being forgotten during their hiatus.
Maybe it’s because the song is the product of such feelings, but “Sixth Sense” shines with power and glory. “People said that they were scared of our music video and asked if we had given up on looking pretty. We just wanted to show a stronger force compared to before and agreed to ‘just let it all out.’ We knew that we were walking a different path compared to other girl groups,” Narsha explained.
They had to completely scrap three albums’ worth of productions, each time racking their imaginations to come up with a better song and concept. As time passed by, their panic only grew. Still, they couldn’t give in to the easier path because they had to go back to their roots and find an image that set them apart from categories like ‘idols’ and ‘girl groups’.
Ga-In stated, “I was the happiest when people said that their expectations of us coming out with synth-based dance music and sexy dances were completely overridden.”
Narsha added, “We don’t have a specific point choreography as we placed the emphasis instead on our live and high notes. We really hated hearing people say that we’re a vocal group so why are we only dancing. We were determined to show them once and for all.”
She continued, “I like the image of striving for challenges. I was proud when I saw someone reply, ‘It’s okay because it’s the Brown Eyed Girls.’ I’m confident that we’re the only team that can take something difficult and complex and make it easy to approach for the public.”
Miryo concluded, “We really had to go all in for this album by giving up on our individual and overseas activities. Basically, we went back to our roots. Now it’s time for us to start all over again.”
As expected, the Brown Eyed Girls are turning heads everywhere with their concept, choreography, and sound from their “Sixth Sense” comeback. In particular, their three-part high note near the end of the song has been earning explosive attention, leaving many fans impressed with the ladies’ potential.
The group recently completed their week of comebacks and sang high notes estimated to be over five and a half levels effortlessly on stage. It’s a note that’s difficult for anyone without training to accomplish and is often compared to the high pitched sound dolphins make.
One of the most popular stars known for their high notes is Mariah Carey and her song, “Emotions“. As for the Brown Eyed Girls, all three vocalists connect their high notes in the order of Jea, Ga-In, andNarsha. When the song was first released, many wondered whether the girls would be able to pull it off live, but the girls proved that they could and so much more.
Their MR-Removed video has also been one of hot topic, ranking first in portal searching rankings for some time.

With Korea’s Chuseok holiday quickly approaching, many stars planned to either go on a vacation or relax at home. But the Brown Eyed Girls opted to volunteer instead, and so they invited six ill children from China to spend a few days with them.
On September 12th, KBS will air a heartwarming Chuseok special titled ‘BEG’s Pit-A-Pat’ which documented the girls helping six children suffering from heart disease by helping them get necessary surgeries and treatments in Korea.
When the Brown Eyed Girls first met the children, they were shocked to learn that these bright and cheerful youngsters were also ill patients. The girls visited the hospital with presents and distributed them to the children, who were slowly recovering after undergoing surgery. One of the six children became teary-eyed after receiving school supplies that the Brown Eyed Girls had prepared for her; the girls had learned that she had an especial interest in studying.
The Chuseok special will show the memories the children made in Korea, and document the progress of their surgery as well.
A KBS representative revealed, “Every year, children from impoverished Chinese families die at a young age due to heart disease. This year, with the help of the Brown Eyed Girls, six children were able to receive surgery. For this year’s Chuseok, we hope to touch hearts and bring happiness to families by showing them that a small act of kindness can give life to a child’s future.”
