Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation celebrated her 23rd birthday yesterday on March 9th KST, and decided to leave a birthday message for fans on the group’s official website.
Taeyeon left a post on March 1oth with the title, “What’s up, Sone!”
She went on, “Every year it seems that I receive so much that I don’t really know what to do, and also feel a bit embarrassed. Today, I mean yesterday, was spent happily. I had a party with those I love most, ate food, and took pictures. Hehe. Thank you and love you to my members. I love Sone as well.”
She then addressed fans concerns about her toe that she had hurt recently, stating, “You worried a lot because I hurt my toenail didn’t you? To be honest, complete recovery will take a while, but it’s getting a lot better so worrying is a no no no.”
She brought the message to a close with, “To Sones whom I love. I feel so grateful, thankful, and happy because of the love you give little ol’ me every year congratulating me on my birthday. I’m really such a rich person. Rich with love. I’ll pay you all back. This is why you should love me more. Love me already. Sone is the best! I’m the best! Cheers for Soshi, the best!”

On July 27th, a post was uploaded onto an online community boad titled, “Cutie Taeyeon“.
In the attached photograph, Taeyeon poses adorably with a pea cushion on her bed. This aegyo is something people haven’t seen lately from Taeyeon due to the sexy concept she’s recently been showing off on performance stages.
Netizens commented with, “Of course, Taeyeon’s cute image is the best“, “When did she take this? It’s so cute“, “Can’t believe that little girl is already 23-years-old…“.
11 June:
The interview began with the host asking Taeyeon on how she took care of her health.
Taeyeon replied, “I don’t take especial care of it. I try to eat properly, and I think I get exercise naturally though stage performances.”
Taeyeon was then asked, “Do you have anything special prepared for the performance in Paris?”, to which she answered, “There are many people who wanted to listen to the original tracks. So rather than recomposing the songs, we’ll be picking representative tracks instead.” Taeyeon expressed that she was determined to perform familiar songs in France for French Sones to sing along to.
The ‘kid leader’ directed her next words to SNSD’s Korean ‘uncle’ fans. “While we’ve scaled back our Korean activities for a while, we’re performing in various countries to let Korea be better known, so please wait for just a little bit longer. We’ll be starting on our Korean activities soon.”
She also added, “I’m doing well, so don’t worry too much!”
Son Suk Hee then asked while smiling, “There are almost no cases where idol stars appear on ‘Spotlight’. Did you ever have an interview as formal as this one before?”
Taeyeon laughed, “There haven’t been many these days.”
Taeyeon and her fellow SNSD members are currently in Paris preparing for the first ever ‘SM TOWN Live in Paris‘ shows on June 10th – 11th.
3 June:
A post on an online community board was created under the title, ‘Taeyeon’s provocative outfit’, which shared the above photo. Taeyeon’s bared stomach and sleek figure immediately became a hot topic, as fans could hardly believe their eyes. With her violet tube top, extremely short hot pants, and mesh leggings, Taeyeon managed to deliver some vamp to her standard cute image.
It was revealed that the photo had been taken during SNSD’s Japanese concert for their arena tour.
30 Mei:
Netizens have voted SNSD’s Taeyeon as the #1 ‘OST Queen’.
Monkey 3, a Korean music portal, recently held a poll asking netizens who’s the ‘queen of drama OSTs’ and Taeyeon came in 1st place, followed by singer Baek Ji Young in 2nd.
Out of 740 voters, Taeyeon won by a landside with 52% (385) of the votes. Amongst officials, there is even a saying that “if Taeyeon sings it, the song will rise.” Thus far, Taeyeon has sung for MBC’s “Beethoven Virus“, KBS2’s “Hong Gil Dong“, and SBS’s “Athena: Goddess of War“. Her OSTs in all three dramas received much popularity from the public.
Baek Ji Young, who drew in lots of popularity for the SBS “Secret Garden” OST, “That Man” andKBS “IRIS” OST, “Do Not Forget” came in 2nd with 26% of the votes. Following these two singers,IU came in 3rd with 7%, Gummy was 4th with 6%, Zia was 5th with 5%, and Seo Young Eun came in 6th with 4%.

Towards the end of their performance of “Run Devil Run“, a male audience member intruded onto their stage from the back and attempted to pull Taeyeon away by grabbing her wrist.
The other SNSD members were caught offguard, but Sunny reacted quickest and tried to stop him but could not do so. The show’s host, comedian Oh Jung Tae managed to stop the man, and security staff intervened thereafter by apprehending the man and preventing any further accidents from occurring.
Audience members reportedly looked on with shock, and were further impressed with Taeyeon’s professional attitude in returning and performing until the end.
A representative of SM Entertainment stated after the incident, “During the latter part of the event, there was an unexpected accident. Taeyeon, however, handled the matter bravely, and security staff prevented the situation from becoming more severe. At first, the audience and concert representatives all thought that a staff member was going on stage. After the concert, SNSD returned back to their dorms and are currently resting. We’re glad that the incident did not escalate into something more severe.”
With footage (starts at 3:37) and pictures of the incident spreading on the internet, netizens have been posting messages of protest against representatives of the concert.

It’s been almost a year since SNSD’s Taeyeon participated in her debut musical, “The Sun’s Song“. Recently, the production unveiled studio-quality tracks of Taeyeon’s solo songs, and fans have been gushing over her clear, angelic vocals.
To recap, Taeyeon played the role of ‘Kaoru’, a girl diagnosed with XP (xeroderma pigmentosum) – a disorder which forbids one from being exposed to sunlight. Kaoru doesn’t feel the limits of her disorder until she falls in love with a surfer boy, who’s ironically in love with the sun.
“The Sun’s Song” was actually based on a Japanese novel, and it also received a Japanese film adaptation called “Midnight Sun“.
