On May 27th at 6PM (Local time), Junsu held his ‘XIA 1st Asia Tour in Bangkok‘ at the Royal Paragon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. 4,000 fans attended the event to be serenaded by Junsu and his amazing performances.
Aside from his songs, Junsu also held a small talk show with his fans. “Nice to meet you again” and “I love you *kiss*” were some of the phrases he said in Thai. Fans were specially treated to some of his sweet songs including, “You are so beautiful” and “I hate Love“.
During the encore stage, Junsu showed tears as he sang “Fallen Leaves“. “I feel so fortunate to start off my Asia tour so grandly. I sincerely thank my fans who came to cheer me on and fill up the concert“, Junsu said.
According to Junsu’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, “The 60 day Asia Tour journey has started and the first concert has wrapped up successfully. Even though there were no broadcasts or promotions when the album ["Tarantallegra"] was released, we think the explosive response was due to the ever so hard working Junsu who shows sincerity and competency.”
Kim Junsu’s next concert will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 16th.

Now a tradition at Korean concerts, fans of JYJ‘s Junsu celebrated his first solo concert, ‘1st Asia Tour in Seoul‘, by sending in 2.11 tons of rice wreaths!
Junsu recently completed two concert dates at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium. Fans from not only Korea, but Japan and other locations around the world had sent in 2.11 tons of rice bags in donation to the needy. Domestic and international fans have been showing their support in such a manner since JYJ’s showcase in 2010 and all through Junsu’s musicals like ‘Mozart!‘, ‘Heaven’s Tears‘, and ‘Elizabeth‘.
His fans have been leaders in creating a healthy and wholesome fandom culture through their dedication to charities.

On May 19th, Junsu held his ‘1st Asia Tour in Seoul‘ for the release of his first studio album,‘Tarantallegra‘. Fans immediately spotted the members of B2ST enjoying the concert in the audience. C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “The concert was an absolute success to the point that fans just couldn’t bear to leave the concert hall nearly two hours after the concert had already come to an end. There were a lot of fans that fainted in the middle of the concert, so we’re going to have ambulances on standby for today’s concert in advance.”
Fans from Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, Canada, Chile, France, and other parts of the world flew in for the special two-day concert. Representatives commented, “Fans from all over the world came to congratulate Junsu’s first solo concert.”
Junsu performed all 11 tracks on his solo album as well as several musical numbers, bringing the grand total to 17 performances. He worked hand in hand with his dance team and brought out cheers for the sexiness he was able to exude in “Lullaby” and “Intoxication” especially.

The singer looked a bit frightening with his pale makeup and dark smokey eye shadow, and his platinum blonde hair made the look seem more deathly.

He took a different route from his fellow members Park Yoochun and Kim Jaejoong who opted to star in drama series. He explained his choice for going into musicals instead by saying, “There’s a unique charm to musicals that’s different from concerts.” Also, he liked the challenge of expressing the art of acting through music.
It is also a genre that he came to know during the most difficult time in his life, after leaving his former group TVXQ.
The singer, whose first musical was ‘Mozart‘ back in 2010 has reached higher heights than anyone had anticipated. Tickets for the musicals sold out due to his appearance, and he seemed to channel all of his anxiety and pent up emotions towards his former agency into this musical, and his acting became that much more natural and passionate.
“‘Mozart’ was a project that I took on during the most difficult period in my life, and because of that, it is one that I will never be able to forget as long as I live,” he said.
He didn’t need to think twice about being in his current musical. It was a new project by Sylvester Levay, the composer behind the ingenious music of ‘Mozart’, the musical that Junsu feels so attached to.
This third musical is none other than ‘Elisabeth‘, a musical equally emotional and shocking as ‘Mozart’.
‘Elisabeth’ is a musical about Queen Elisabeth that comes from a royal family in Hasburg, and Kim Junsu plays the role of ‘ambassador of death’, Tod. Once Elisabeth marries Austrian emperor Franz Joseph, she continually experiences discord and tension with her mother in law. Her free will and freedom feels threatened and Tod who sees this tempts her to go to a world where she can experience true and perfect peace along with freedom.
It must have been difficult for Junsu to act in this musical as he does not have a real, concrete character but he remarked that it was easier for him to freely express himself because of that very same reason.
“I didn’t think the character fit well with my past experiences and my personal style,” he said. “It was also a bit intimidating at first because of the fact that I was portraying death itself. But Sylvester Levay told me that because I play a transcendental role in the musical, to just be more like my actual self.”
Although he is starring in the musical alongside big names in the industry such as Song Chang Eui as well as Ryu Jung Han, Junsu will stand out with his youthful energy and use his experience as a dance artist in the musical. The role of ‘death’ in the musical has freedom to taken on different personalities depending on the actor, and Junsu is determined to take full advantage of that. He will dance more than others, and take this as an opportunity to show his fans a new side of himself.
And although this is already his third musical, he still feels a bit of lack in confidence. He is afraid of making mistakes, and afraid that he will inconvenience the other professionals on stage with him.
“I think I’m getting a little closer to becoming a real actor,” he said. “I want to show people that I can do more than just sell tickets. It’s something I need to work on. I want to be both a successful singer and an actor. I guess I want to become like Cho Seung Woo who goes back and forth so naturally from the stage to the small-screen.”
When he builds 40-50 years of experience, the singer would also like to star in major musicals such as ‘Les Miserables‘ as well as ‘Jesus Christ Superstar‘. He also would like to expand, writing and composing songs. Interestingly enough, he also evoked laughs by randomly admitting he would also like to put together an international celebrity soccer team.

Through the generous help of JYJ‘s Junsu, a small village in Cambodia was able to construct a school for its students.
On December 28th, ‘Adra Korea‘ announced the establishment of a ‘Kim Junsu School’ that took five months to build. The school includes six classrooms, a bathroom, and a clean water supply system.
The remote outback town is a part of the Pusat province and has a population of 1,500. It takes approximately three hours by car to travel to the capital. In a country that carries a suffering economy and health system, the town is considered one of the most impoverished within the country.
Junsu’s mother, Yoon Young Mi, visited the area through the aid of a volunteer organization and asked locals what they needed the most. Without hesitation, they had said that they needed a school for their children. After hearing about their needs, Junsu set out to construct a school to aid in the education of impoverished children and to help them find a future and a goal. Touched, the locals shared and donated everything they had to make it a possibility.
The opening ceremony was attended by 500 students and their parents, along with the town officials. The new elementary students put on an adorable show to express their gratitude. Junsu’s mother returned the favor by expressing, “I hope to name this school the ‘Xiah Junsu Evergreen School’ so that the students can preserve dreams as fresh and green as the trees and grow their own futures. I hope that everyone will grow up to become an important leader of our future.”
Junsu wasn’t able to attend due to his musical, ‘Elizabeth‘, but made sure to leave a message stating,“I’d love to visit everyone the next time I get an opportunity and sing and dance with you all.”
The town also set up a gate with the message ‘Kim Junsu Support Town’ to express their gratitude for all he’s done.
26 September:
On September 25th, JYJ‘s Junsu confessed that he felt heartbroken when he heard TVXQ‘s “Don’t Say Goodbye” recently.
Junsu began by talking about the lyrics for the song, saying, “We won’t let go of each other’s hearts and overcome everything. Cause you are my everything to me.”
He went on to write, “It’s a song that I liked a lot. I randomly listened to it for the first time in a while. But this song feels unfamiliar to me now. It hurts my heart…”
“Don’t Say Goodbye” was included in the special edition of TVXQ’s 4th album, “Mirotic“, back when all five were together in one group. The song is a pop ballad describing the moment of breakup between a couple.

JYJ’s Junsu gifts a Chuseok present of a grand scale.
On the morning of the 7th, an initiation for a ‘House of Love’, sponsored by Junsu, took place at an elderly woman’s home. This was the 6th time that Junsu had collaborated with the international relief & development organization, ADRA KOREA.
This year’s “House of Love’ seemed especially meaningful with its timing right before the Chuseok holiday.
The elderly woman who lives with her grandchild, lost her home last October due to an unexpected fire that not only destroyed her home, but her life as well.
With the help of her neighbors, she was able to apply for the ‘Building Houses of Love’ project and now finally has a new place to call home.
70 volunteers were brought in to complete the construction of the small but comfortable home, after breaking ground on June 21st.
Junsu has contributed major donations to ADRA KOREA since 2008, and these funds have been the source for ‘Building Houses of Love’ projects throughout the nation, bringing new homes to those in unfortunate circumstances.

On August 18th, Junsu posted via Twitter, “Hehe. Children”, with the above photo attached.
In the photo, Junsu is seen feeding his cats, Tigger, Leo, and Bakira. The cats seem to be surrounding Junsu to receive his love… and treats.

Dressed comfortably in a red checkered shirt and black pants, the singer topped his outfit with some key point sunglasses.
According to a ‘L’inoui” employee, Junsu visited the store with a friend and shopped around looking to purchase an item. He was looking in particular for a new popular backpack while also trying out a number of different styles of backpacks.
Other celebrities who have been seen sporting ‘L’inoui’ merchandise include Jang Dong Gun,Hyunbin, Kim Namgil, Ha Jiwon and others.
The Bono canvas beige backpack that Junsu ended up choosing has also been spotted on Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, 2PM’s Nichkhun, Kim Soohyun among other idol stars, helping its rise to become the new “must-have” bag. The bag retails for 498,000 won or around $470 USD.

On May 27th, JYJ’s Junsu shared a photo of a random baby and expressed his desire of becoming the father of a baby girl.
The singer recently paid a visit to Disneyland in L.A., and he was struck by the sight of a cheerful baby on the floor. He tweeted, “I honestly saw the most cutest baby girl ever. More than anything else, she was all smiles.. She was an angelic baby that really lifted my mood. I want a baby like her.”
Continuing, he wrote, “It’d be nice to have a son to play soccer with, but I don’t think he’ll listen to me once he gets older.. I want a baby girl!”

Is Kim Jaejoong homeless?
On May 22nd, JYJ member Kim Junsu revealed pictures of members waiting at an airport on his Twitter.
In a picture that looks to be taken secretly by Junsu, Jaejoong is trying to sleep on the floor covering his face. “Homeless at an airport…our director Kim..I’m sorry I can’t protect you…ke,” wrote Junsu with the picture.
In another picture , Junsu is wearing sunglasses with his lips sticking out.

On May 14th, JYJ’s Junsu performed “That Man” off of the “Secret Garden” OST at his home in Paju in celebration of parent’s day.
Immediately after his performance, the singer began ranking in at the top of portal site searches and received an explosive response amongst netizens and fans alike. Junsu had previously been chosen as the #1 vocal talent amongst idol groups in a survey with 10 vocal trainers, so his talent shouldn’t come as a surprise.
A representative of JYJ revealed, “In celebration of parent’s day, Junsu visited his parent’s home in Paju and sang this song at the bar in the basement. He hasn’t seen ‘Secret Garden’ but he always liked the songs and often hummed along.” How the clip was released is unknown.

Continuing on this trend, he recently made another great achievement, as his musical DVD, ‘Levay With Friends’, received extraordinary sales of over 40,000 copies in just a week.
Not only is it sold out in most places, but the sales have been strong enough to beat out popular artists promoting their official albums. It has currently reached third place in overall album sales.
The DVD highlights Junsu’s role in both ‘Mozart!’ and ‘Elizabeth’.
