A post was recently uploaded onto an online community site along with multiple photos of the singer.
The netizen seems to have given the nickname “folder bow” as the photos show the singer respectively bowing in a perfect 90 degree angle. Not only is G-Dragon pictured bowing at award ceremonies, he’s also seen exchanging greetings with a deep bow to his juniors as well as to the audience members.
Netizens who came across the photos left varying comments such as, “Not only celebrities, but general people need to watch and learn“, “I’ve noticed his good manners while watching him on broadcast“, and “I hope more singers become like him.”

Yesterday, it was revealed that G-Dragon was busy working on his next solo comeback with a featuring by Ludacris.
New information was dropped today by industry insiders, with some claiming that he would be making his comeback in August. With his first solo album, ‘Heartbreaker’, having been released around his 22nd birthday on August 18th, 2009, it seems he may be following suit with his second album.
One official stated, “During his hiatus, G-Dragon has been working dilligently on Big Bang‘s album and his solo work. He will be starting his activities at the same time as his birthday this time as well.”

G-Dragon‘s fashion sense has achieved iconic status in Korea, and it’s finally starting to make waves in international fashion communities.
Recently, Singapore’s largest daily newspaper ‘The Straits Times‘ published an article listing the top 10 ‘Men of Style‘. The author explained that G-Dragon is “…a fashion chameleon who has experimented with looks from Goth to Preppy. He is also a trendsetter in his own right: When he dyed his hair platinum blonde for his album in 2009, newspaper reports claimed that the style became one of the most sought-after looks in South Korea that year.”
They continued, “His fashion clout has turned him into an endorsement magnet in his home country. He currently has 10 deals with brands such as apparel label Bean Pole and outdoor equipment brand The North Face.”
The magazine then went on to describe his style as, “Roguish chic. But no matter what he dons, he pulls it all off effortlessly.”
‘The Straits Times’ also listed Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, and a few others in the Top 10.

After G-Dragon‘s marijuana investigation came to light, many netizens immediately commented on how the idol must’ve shaved off his hair to avoid getting caught. The investigation required both a urine and hair sample.
To refute these accusations, a chief prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office namedKim Hwe Jong stepped forward to say, “G-Dragon and the shaving of his head during the marijuana investigation have no relation to one another“.
On October 5th, prosecutor Kim had a phone interview with a reporter and said,
“The truth is that Kwon Ji Yong‘s [G-Dragon's] marijuana examination took place in the middle of June, not in July. We didn’t even know that Kwon Ji Yong shaved his head in August; by then, it was a closed case. Therefore, you can’t say that he shaved his head in order to avoid further testing. Since it is a closed case, there are no plans to hand out a probation or to hold further investigations.“
The reporter then asked about G-Dragon’s behavior and confession during the investigation. (G-Dragon had confessed to smoking marijuana in a club while he was visiting Japan for a performance in mid-May.)
Chief Prosecutor Kim said, ”Kwon Ji Yong appeared to be regretful. There were no difficulties when we were trying to hear his confession. He told the truth, as the positive results had already been released. He also expressed his will to never smoke marijuana.”
G-Dragon did not receive a suspension or indictment for his charges. Many netizens expressed whether this was too light a judgment, considering his offense.
Chief prosecutor Kim explained,
“It’s not like that in any way. This type of case is one that would normally not carry a suspension. He is a college student, and it’s his first offense. Also, the investigation’s results only detected a very small amount. The fact that he was a college student weighed most heavily. College students and grown adults are [judged] differently, because it may have a larger impact on their future.“
And why was this revealed so late?
Kim replied, ”Since Kwon Ji Yong is a public figure, the case could not be easily stated. The case was revealed, it seems, because rumors were going around about it.”
At this time, all activities for G-Dragon have been temporarily suspended. YG Entertainment has issued an official apology, and the national broadcasting networks of KBS, SBS, and MBC have all declared that G-Dragon will not be blacklisted from any appearances.
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as KBS, MBC, and SBS officially announced that “appearance sanctions [against G-Dragon] will not be made.”
To start, KBS and MBC have confirmed that they will not be imposing any restrictions on G-Dragon. A representative of KBS stated, “Kwon Ji Yong‘s indictment is currently suspended and thus he is not standing before the law. Consequently, imposing a restriction would be difficult.”
MBC also announced, “We could talk about appearance restrictions, but opening a whole conference is not yet decided. We would usually have a meeting if it were civil or criminal cases, but when a case’s indictment is suspended, we typically will not open one.”
SBS also came out with similar announcements to KBS and MBC, stating that chances of restricting G-Dragon’s TV appearance would be low.
Normally, an official decision for a celebrity’s removal from a broadcast appearance is normally made after each of the broadcasting stations hold a meeting with the Performers’ Regulation Commission. Currently, a total of 12 celebrities have been blacklisted by MBC and KBS after being hit with drug-related charges. Some of these include Oh Kwang Rok, Yoon Sul Hee, Jun In Kwon, Ju Ji Hoon, and Crown J.

“We indicted G-Dragon on the charges of smoking marijuana,” said a representative for the Seoul police on October 5th.
According to investigators, G-Dragon had smoked marijuana sometime in the middle of May this year, and had taken a drug test in July. Although the results had come back negative with an initial urine test, further tests overturned that decision, and he had confessed at the time that he had been taking the drug at a Japanese club when he had visited the country for a concert.
“I smoked a cigarette that someone had given me at a club,” G-Dragon said. “The smell was somewhat different from that of a regular cigarette so I was slightly suspicious that it was marijuana, but it is true that I smoked it,” he said.
According to investigators, since the amount of marijuana was so small and G-Dragon had no prior offences, they decided to give him a warning.

Fan reports began spreading across the internet after G-Dragon was seen publicly at the 2NE1 concert held a few weeks back. At a children’s hospital charity event last week, attentive VIPs noted the tattoo yet again.
The tattoo itself has ignited interest among many, as it features a curious cartoon-like heart with arms and legs running on a path. Turns out that this is a famous icon by Keith Haring that is still commonly seen today.

Through a phone interview with 10asia, a media representative did mention that G-Dragon will indeed be coming back with a new mini album; however, representatives of YG Entertainment denied that anything has been finalized. An official at YG Entertainment stated, “It’s true that we are in the process of making the album, but we never confirmed an official comeback date.”
Representatives were also cautious when questioned about an official comeback date. They answered, “As of this point, we are unsure of the comeback date. The date could possibly be delayed.”

Fans don’t have to wait any longer for G-Dragon‘s solo comeback, as Big Bang‘s G-Dragon is set to return with his solo on October!
Next month, G-Dragon is scheduled to reveal his mini album and start his solo activities on October for the first time in a year and a half.
It was revealed that G-Dragon is currently working on last-minute items for his songs and will select his title song soon, in addition to envisioning his album concept. A YG Entertainment representative stated, “Because we are still writing songs for his album, we haven’t decided on his title song. When we are done, we will decide on the album concept.”
Many agencies are reportedly reconsidering other artists’ comeback dates that were set for October as G-Dragon is expected to overpower music charts with his solo comeback. One music industry stated, “From September, KARA, SNSD, and Brown Eyed Girls are planned to comeback. In addition to that, it’s hard to find a place for rookie singers with G-Dragon coming back on October.”
With Daesung‘s car accident, Big Bang members are focusing on their individual activities, starting with G-Dragon’s solo comeback.

The popular idol celebrated his birthday on August 18th, and he received many messages from both fans and celebrity friends alike. Displaying his courteous manners, G-Dragon shared a post on his UFO TOWN page, thanking everyone for their warm wishes.
He wrote, “Hello~ It’s Jiyong! After debuting, I was able to have such happy birthdays because all of you guys celebrated it with me~ Thank you!”.
He added, “I hope you guys have a good day, too! Be happy!! ^^”
G-Dragon announced in the beginning of August through a handwritten letter that he would not be accepting gifts for his birthday starting this year. Instead of sending presents, his fans donated 20,000,000 won (approximately $20,000 USD) to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital under his name.

G-Dragon’s income from his copyrighted songs was revealed to be exaggerated.
A representative from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KMCA) stated, “The supposed well-known fact that G-Dragon is listed as number 1 in copyright income is actually different from the truth. The initial news sparked an investigation due to all the hype about his income, and it was discovered that the claim was somewhat exaggerated. Unfortunately, the contents concerning copyrights cannot be revealed to the public. For those reasons, we cannot reveal detailed copyright incomes nor rankings.”
Big Bang’s Seungri caused quite a sensation earlier in May when he appeared on Mnet’s ‘Beatles Code‘ stating, “G-Dragon hyung is currently considered #1 in the Copyright Association… He’s even higher than composer Jo Young Soo,” resulting in an investigation thereafter.
It was revealed that 429 songs were registered by Jo Young Soo, while only 107 were by G-Dragon.

The singer was spotted in business class on a plane heading towards Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. One representative revealed, “A person with a unique fashion style was sitting in business class. This picture was taken while G-Dragon was preparing on his photoshoot for the July issue ofDazed&Confused. In the picture, G-Dragon is sitting in front of a woman with his hand out in order to get his nails done. He’s wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt and shorts that are short enough to reveal his thighs.
Netizens commented, “The way he has his wrists bent is feminine”, “Since you got your nails done, stop biting them”, and “Even if it’s just G-Dragon’s nails, I want to see them.”

It has been revealed that although Big Bang’s G-Dragon has a cast on his leg, it’s not a major injury.
On May 16th, a YG Entertainment representative said,
“G-Dragon slightly sprained his leg during the concert. It is not a big injury. He is only wearing the half-cast during performances in case the injury might worsen while moving around. It is okay now. There is no need to worry.“
G-Dragon’s injury was made known by a tweet from MBC’s “Infinity Challenge” producer Kim Tae Ho. He tweeted about Big Bang’s Japanese concert, saying, “GD had a light cast on his right foot.”
While that tweet was made in response to a Big Bang fan, his response quickly informed netizens of G-Dragon’s injury.
Big Bang is currently on their “Love & Hope Tour” in Japan, hitting up Osaka, Nagoya, and Chiba.
12 April:
On April 10th, G-Dragon added the picture onto his m2day with the captions, “The end~~~~~! Yahoo!??????????????? Love Song today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
In the picture, G-Dragon can be seen sitting on top of a childrens’ giraffe toy at a movie theatre, with Taeyang posing for the camera in the background. Fans laughed as they noted G-Dragon’s short pants and long, green socks which make him look even more like a playful child.
It’s great to see the boys have a little fun in the midst of their busy promotions for “Love Song” and “Stupid Liar”.
6 April:Continuing with their flood of teasers, YG Entertainment has just released this new audio clip of Big Bang’s new song, “Love Song“.
This time, it’s leader G-Dragon who’s up to bat, and fans will definitely be excited to hear his untouched voice. Yup, no auto-tune, no special effects – just G-Dragon crooning “I hate this love song, I hate this love song” from what’s presumably the chorus.
With just two days to go, this new teaser should tide VIPs over until the full mini-album drops on Friday.

Although YG had announced last week that Big Bang would stop breaking guitars once they completed their first round of comeback performances, G-Dragon was seen smashing yet another guitar during the climax of their performance on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” this week, which took fans completely by surprise.
The agency’s representatives explained, “At first, we wanted to change the stage a bit since we can’t keep showing the same image over and over again, but we decided to continue with the same dance due to a variety of reasons. If we wanted to change the performance, we would have to produce another version of the song, and the group would also have to practice a new set of choreography. We’re in a situation where we don’t have enough time.”

On March 16th, Cho PD stated through his agency, “Any idol singer should have the competence of musicians like Big Bang.” He has given idol group Big Bang’s within-team producer G-Dragon a high grade.
Earlier today, we reported that Cho PD trained the upcoming idol group Block B’s members in writing and composing their own songs. In order to raise their ability as singer-songwriters, they have even practiced arranging their songs as well.
Cho PD emphasized,
“In the 1st generation of idols such as Seo Taiji & Boys, Deux, and Hyun Jin Young, the members wrote their own songs and were skilled dancers. It is true that later following generations of idols have focused on acting, variety, and other fields as opposed to music… You can pick Big Bang’s G-Dragon as the representative musician amongst this generation of idols.“
This has garnered much attention due to the fact that Cho PD had dissed G-Dragon in the past. However, it appears that after having trained an idol group, he has begun to acknowledge G-Dragon as a representative idol musician.

When told that the confidence he exuded on stage left quite the impression on viewers, G-Dragon commented, “We’ve been at it for about five years now. Being able to perform the type of music we want gives us a sense of confidence that allows us to take on whatever and wherever.”
He continued, “The guitar performance part of ‘Tonight’ is actually quite embarrassing for me. But if I think of it as embarrassing, it will visibly show on the outside. On stage, I try to think that I’ll own it because in the end, performances all come down to your level of confidence.”

Though he’s only 23 years old, he’s managed to garner enough experience to be praised by both pop culture critics and industry representatives as ‘the musician whose future they anticipate the most’.
Considering all his accomplishments, he sounds like an intimidating figure – but when the interviewer met the golden boy, G-Dragon proved to be a thoughtful, modest soul who laughed shyly and had a tendency to bite his lips when in thought.
That is, until the topic of music came up.
G-Dragon’s eyes lit up with anticipation when the reporter observed, “The way you express your reality through your raps is quite meaningful.”
G-Dragon responded, “I wanted to show my true self, not how I wanted to be seen by others. Stories full of my own thoughts and experiences are what I wanted to share. Just very freely and comfortably, I wanted to say ‘this is who I am.’ As Big Bang’s leader, I’m under the pressure to lead the group, but recently, I’ve had a lot of fun just enjoying myself. Music has to be enjoyed, not regarded as work. If you’re squeezed under the pressure of work, it’s difficult to produce good music. Regardless, as I experienced different things, I was able to organize a bit of my thoughts, as well as come up with some things to say.”
At the mention of ‘experiencing different things,’ the reporter asked him to elaborate. “I’ve earned a lot of compliments, but I also think I’ve received a lot of hateful replies as well. At the time, I was extremely hurt and placed in a difficult situation.”
He explained, “What’s shown on stage is ultimately up to the artist. The situation arose because of me, so I needed to take responsibility of it. There’s no need to say this or that through words or talk, all that is needed is to present better music next time.”
The reporter mused, “You sound like a person who has reached nirvana.”
G-Dragon responded, “My seniors were a great source of strength, and time helped in healing. I also heard ever since I was little that I seemed older than I looked.”
The reporter then asked G-Dragon to pick a track from GD&TOP’s album which he felt best represented him at this time.
“I think it’s ‘High High‘,” he said. “I stand on stage as a singer, but the stage is not a job to me. When I go on stage, I go crazy and play. It makes me feel as if I’ve returned to the ‘Kid Roo’Ra‘ stage, dancing around like that.”
(For reference, when G-Dragon was seven years old, he made his first TV debut by parodying the popular group ‘Roo’Ra‘ under the nickname ‘Kid Roo’Ra.’ At 13, he joined YG Entertainment.)
G-Dragon then elaborated on the pressures which come with high praise and expectations. “I once read that someone called me a ‘genius,’ but that’s a misunderstanding. It’s uncomfortable, and it puts a lot of pressure on me when people see me like that. I learned about music at an earlier age than most, and through my own efforts, came across good luck and opportunity; that’s all it is. I might’ve shined more because there weren’t many like me then.”
The reporter then asked about Big Bang’s comeback, and what fans should look forward to.
“I’d like for you to anticipate a bigger Big Bang,” said G-Dragon. “We’re planning to show cool, rock-influenced songs. Up until ‘Red Sunset,’ we might’ve looked like kids, but this latest release will show how much more manlier we’ve become. Big Bang’s last album earned a lot of love, but we’re hoping to take a bigger shot this time.”
Didn’t they already show the crowd their big shot? “No,” he replied, “Everything just happened to fall in place, but there was a bit of luck and exaggeration. What we’re worried about is not what we show, but how we live up to the expectations in the back.”
To wrap up the interview, G-Dragon was asked to share one hardship that his celebrity life forces him to endure.
“It’s eating. I always have to have a stew when I eat, but people look at me weird when I eat like that. It’s also upsetting that I can’t go to those delicious seolleongtang and stew restaurants as I wish.”
