G.NA planned to kick off her promotions with her lead song,”Top Girl“, and “Banana” was to be used as the follow-up song. MBC held an evaluation review on August 17th, and on the 18th they announced that they decided to ban the song.
The background and reasoning behind MBC’s decision has yet to be revealed.
Cube Entertainment commented, ”If there is a problem with the follow up song, it’s probably because of the lyrics. We need to discuss if we should modify the lyrics.”
“Banana” has been described to be a fun and lively track featuring raps from hip hop artist Swings.
Her title track has been revealed to be “Top Girl“, which was produced by hitmakers Kim Do Hoon andLee Sang Ho, two producers she’s been working with ever since her debut. The song is also special in that it features lyrics written by singer Wheesung.

Japanese singer-songwriter Fukuyama Masaharu is celebrating his 20th debut anniversary with a new album titled, “With Special Guests – Fukuyama Masaharu Remake“. He’s invited many of Korea’s top vocalists to cover his numerous tracks, which included “Best Love” (done by 2AM) and “Rainbow” (done by B2ST).

On March 11th, G.NA fell while heading for the stage of KBS’s “Music Bank“. It’s said that the star had tripped and landed on her knee.
G.NA underwent acupuncture, and returned to the staff despite her staff’s concerns; reportedly, she repeatedly iterated, “I have to complete my schedule.“ Originally, she was set to stand for her performance, but due to the pain in her knee, she sang her song “I Miss You Already” sitting in a chair. Right after the live broadcast, G.NA was immediately taken to the emergency room to receive a complete medical examination.
On March 12th, a Cube Entertainment representative revealed, “Although there is no problems with her bones, she may have pulled a ligament and so we must wait for further details. While she is doing activities for a ballad track, we plan to lessen her movement as much as possible.“ Representatives have further stated that if the injury develops, they plan to adjust her activities.

9 Maret: G.NA has just released her music video for her follow-up track, “I Miss You Already“!
The star discussed her promotion plans while appearing on mbn’s “Live Today Part 2“. She explained, “I will go on more variety programs from now on and promote a lot overseas. There are a lot of good tracks on my first album. I’m going to promote ‘I Miss You Already’ for a short period of time.”
At the show, she sported a brand new hairstyle. She said that she got bangs as part of her makeover for this new song. Without further ado, check out G.NA’s new video below!
On February 27th, G.NA departed Korea for a glorious hometown return, as she’s scheduled to perform at the “Canada Korea Friendship Festival (CKFF)” in Vancouver’s Bell Performing Arts Centre.
G.NA was born in Edmonton, Canada, and raised in Vancouver before she left for Korea to become a singer in 2005. For the first time in four years, she’ll be making a visit back home.
The visit will be an especially meaningful one, as she’s won two big awards from “M! Countdown” and “Music Bank” just days before she left.
G.NA commented, “It’s my first time visiting Canada after my debut, so I’m glad that I even get to perform. I actually graduated high school there, and to be able to stand there and sing after realizing my dreams is really touching.”

There’s no denying that she’s an artist made up of pure talent and effort. Although she was supported by one of the industry’s biggest names, Cube Entertainment’s Hong Seung Sung, G.NA stood on stage and came into her own through her own power.
Her first comeback release, “BLACK & WHITE“, gave music fans got a taste of her versatility in both image and music. “I feel something new and different every time I listen to the album. I tried to present my own feel to the songs and made the songs fit me. Like the title track, I really am ‘black and white’, and I tried to show something different from what I’m known for – something that showed maturity and growth.”
“BLACK & WHITE” also features contributions from impressive names like Yangpa, Wheesung, Young Ji, and Verbal Jint. Through their help, G.NA was able to discover her full potential, as well as her hidden talents. “Yangpa-unni revealed a lot of the musical tastes and trends in the Korean music industry for me. She always gives me such good advice, which goes the same for Wheesung-oppa. I’m very thankful that I have the support of such seniors, they’re all excellent people.”
Although she funnels a lot of effort in order to attain success, not even the talented G.NA can avoid the anti-fans. Still, the artist was able to find the silver lining.
“Anti-fans are fans to me. I’m working hard to read what they write and fix whatever I can. They’re always so accurate and honest with their judgments, so I’m grateful that they’re criticizing me. If you don’t advance, you inevitably retreat. These days, I’m glad to be able to improve myself little by little,” she explained.
When asked about what her plans were for the year, she replied, “I’d really like to perform at a year-end awards ceremony. I’m close with miss A’s Min, but I was a bit jealous last year. This year, I want to go on stage and perform something eye-catching and impressive.”

G.NA recently held her first fan-signing event to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The event was held on February 13th at Busan’s Synnara Record, and many fans from various age groups arrived early to wait.
150 lucky fans received a special chocolate gift from G.NA herself with a written message saying, “Surprise gift prepared by G.NA for Valentine’s Day, enjoy.” One fan was also chosen to receive the opportunity of taking a photo with her.

G.NA is a Canadian-born Korean, so back before she debuted, the artist mostly communicated in English. That all changed when she came over to solo to nurture her singing career dreams, and found that she had some difficulties with the language.
During her debut days, G.NA’s Korean was slightly unarticulated, but fans have noticed that through her comeback promotions for “BLACK & WHITE“, she’s been showing off her improved language skills.
G.NA revealed, “When I was watching dramas like SBS’s “You’re Beautiful“, I couldn’t laugh at the scenes that others were laughing at. I think there was a huge gap in the culture, as I wondered why people were talking about these topics or why everyone was laughing at these parts. It was frustrating, and I thought, “Why isn’t it funny to me?”
She continued, “I honestly rewinded one scene over and over until I understood it. Even if it wasn’t anything important, I needed to know a lot of conversational Korean. In that area, the members of my company were a big help.”
G.NA then explained that her Cube Entertainment labelmates encouraged her at every opportunity. “If I see them inside the company building, we talk a lot and 4minute would compliment me by saying things like “Unni, you improved a lot in your Korean”,which gave me a lot of confidence. Yoseob and Kikwang would help me spell in Korean. If I write something wrong, they would say “Nuna, this isn’t it” and I would play along saying, “Ah, it isn’t?”. Every time we see each other, they would ask me questions like “Nuna, how would you write this? or “What’s the right way?” They’ve been a great help.”
She also added, “My first worry was always saying something wrong in Korean or not being able to understand Korean well. Also, because of my straight-forward personality, the way I would express myself have caused misunderstandings with some people. However, I’ve changed the way, and now I say to myself, “I should try this” or “I should ask if I don’t know.” I’m practicing a lot by following through with this.”
G.NA is currently sweeping the upper charts of online music sites with “BLACK & WHITE.”

G.NA kicked off her career last July with the hit song, “I’ll Back Off So You Can Live”. Through the release of her comeback track, “BLACK & WHITE“, the star was able to show off her strong vocal abilities and ‘mannequin body’. The song has just entered its 4th week, but it’s steadily making its way up to the #1 spot, thus giving more evidence of her rising popularity and “next generation diva” status.

She confidently replied, “I’m thankful towards my mother. I lost about 3.5 kg for my comeback, and I was originally a DD-cup, but they shrunk down to Ds.”
Although she’s able to make such brave statements with a laugh now, there was a time when she was embarrassed about it. “I wanted to hide them out of embarrassment. I was known for always wearing black clothing, and it was difficult to dress myself.”
When netizens began making gifs and caps of her breasts and circulating them on the internet, she also revealed that she was deeply hurt. ”My mother visits my mini-homepage, and some netizens even uploaded those pictures on there. My mom said it was disgusting.”
She continued, “I think it all depends on how I present myself. I just have to be confident and make sure that I give off my own feel. I’d like for the netizens to capture my face next time, though.”
Since she has the physical attributes to back up any sexy concept, many expected her to go down the sexy route for a quicker rise to stardom. G.NA thought differently after the disbandment of Five Girls and refused to be that ‘one shot star’.
She explained, “My mom once told me that it won’t be easy for me. I consider my physique just one of the many charms inside of me, but I felt that using that trait was a waste. My days as a Five Girls member is also important, but as opposed to staying immersed in the past, I’d rather work towards the future.”
Behind her sexy and cute exterior lies a tenacious and feisty girl. “I’m strict with myself, so I make myself tired,” she explained. In preparation for her comeback, she’d go on for days without sleep by recording at 6 to 7 AM, and then beginning rehearsals from 10 AM to 1 AM.
Even when composers were leaving her side one by one, she stuck through it and remained in the recording room. ”Being able to do my best like that left me with no regrets and I had a lot of fun. If there were no effects, I’m not sure how I would’ve felt, but since I saw how the album improved, I’m going to continue working like this.”She concluded, “I’m still lacking in so many aspects that I can’t even name a rival if you asked me to. I will, however, show everyone how much I’m improving.”

She revealed, “A positive mindset is the secret to my diet. I don’t force myself to diet, and just try to enjoy everything I can. I do eat a lot, but dancing on stage naturally helps to maintain my physique.”
G.NA continued, “I eat my meals slowly and without any rush, and also jump rope 2,500 times a day. As well, I do consistent yoga and stretching.”
Her favorite snacks are jellies – G.NA revealed that her dorm refrigerator is full of jellies, which she eats whenever she wants. “It’s important to have a meal plan, but I can’t give up jellies no matter what. Thanks to jellies, I’ve been able to lose weight and increase muscle mass.”
G.NA is currently promoting her cute and sexy “BLACK & WHITE” track, and is receiving much love for her ‘aegyo‘ and glamorous figure.
