2AM became popular with hit tracks like “This Song” and ”I Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die“, but the group had to overcome many obstacles while actively promoting their music, appearing on variety shows, and pursuing acting. Now in his 20s, member Seulong shared his thoughts on his life and career as an idol star and vocalist in a recent interview. Seulong also picked his favorite films about the world of men and the struggles they go through.

2AM Seulong’s top 5 movies are as follows:

1. ‘The Godfather’ (1977)

“No words can describe this film. I was captivated by the actors Marlon Brando and Al  Pacino while watching the film. Although their acting was superb, I was more touched by the sad story line of the struggles of the men in that generation. I can’t imagine the thinking process that had to go into acting for this film.”

2. ‘Cinderella Man‘ (2005)

“This is the story of a man who had to carry heavy burdens. The film takes place during The Great Depression when the main character needed to make money to feed his family, but all he knew how to do was box. Although he gets hit countless times, he was determined to stay  alive in the ring, and this story really touched me.”

3. ‘Grown Ups‘ (2010)

“I love comedy films that Adam Sandler features in. Although this movie seems like it was just made to make people laugh, there is a great moral to the story. It’s about men who grow older in age but have not matured in heart, and also brings up the value of one’s family.”

4. ‘J. Edgar‘ (2011)

“Because this movie was not released in South Korea, I watched it not too long ago on DVD. I love that Leonardo DiCaprio starred in this film. I like the way he is now a mature, middle-aged man rather than when he was known for being a younger, pretty boy. The movie has a lot of points in its story to look back on.”

5. ‘A Bittersweet Life‘ (2005)

“This features my favorite director and acting subaenims all in one film. I think the synergy of Director Kim Ji Yoon and Actor Lee Byung Hun is the best. I also like their film, ‘I Saw  the  Devil’. Every time I watch this film, I learn a lot from it.”

Seulong commented, “Before our recent album came out, I was able to have an important period of time to think and organize my thoughts. I was able to express the feelings I wanted for this album. Even though I don’t reveal much on the outside, I get very concerned about things on the inside. I try to be patient and pretend like everything is okay for the sake of others. Honestly, it’s harder as you get older to freely throw tantrums and cry when you’re sad in front of people. As I get older, there are many things I should let go of and hold in. ‘I Wonder If You Hurt Like Me‘ is a song based on this type of feeling.”

“I will keep on pursuing music. I also want to act. In whatever I do, I just want to have peace of mind. Because if I have peace of mind, I will not be shaken whether I succeed or fail.”

Seulong has already started his acting career in dramas and movies, and was recently selected as thehonorary ambassador for the 13th annual Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF). 2AM also made a successful comeback with their mini-album, ’F.Scott Fitzgerald’s Way Of Love’, and will release a documentary film alongside 2PM entitled, ‘Beyond the Oneday‘ in Japan.

Earlier this week, it was rumored that 2AM‘s Seulong had received a casting offer for TV Chosun‘s upcoming drama, ‘Korean Peninsula‘. Unfortunately, representatives of both the drama and JYP Entertainment have revealed that Seulong was unable to accept the offer due to his busy schedule.

On October 26th, representatives stated, “Im Seulong had tried to balance his schedule to work with the drama, but ultimately couldn’t find a way to fit it in. He will not be joining the drama.”

Seulong was supposed to take on the role of a bodyguard for actor Hwang Jung Min, who will act as the president. He had participated in a recent script reading, which added weight to his casting rumors. Unfortunately, his schedule made it difficult to finalize.

Other idols are being considered for the role, as it is a highly important one in the plot. Producers stated, “At this point, we’re considering casting rookie actors.”

2AM‘s Seulong has been reportedly cast in the new TV Chosun drama ‘Korean Peninsula‘. However, it seems it hasn’t been 100% confirmed as of yet as a representative stated, “It is true that we are currently in negotiations but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

His agency Big Hit Entertainment has informed TV Report on the 21st, “He has yet to sign the contract so we can’t officially say that he has been cast on the show.”

‘Korean Peninsula’ is a special series being released in commemoration of the establishment of the new cable channel, TV Chosun. The drama tells the story of a united Korea, instead of being divided into North and South. The drama scheduled to air sometime in December and tells a fictional romance story entailing enmity, action, and various ideologies.

The drama was written by Yoon Sun Joo, who has also written the scripts for “The Immortal Lee Soon Shin“, “Hwang Jin“, and “King Sejong“. The drama will be directed by Lee Hyung Min who has worked on projects such as “Sorry. I love you“, and “Ice Queen“. Hwang Jung Min and Kim Jung Eun have been also cast as the president and first lady, which is causing quite the stir amongst netizens.

If he officially joins the cast, Seulong will be playing the role of Hwang Jung Min’s assistant bodyguard.

2AM’s Seulong revealed his fully grown dog through his Twitter account, drawing the attention of many fans.

On July 24th, Seulong posted the picture above and tweeted, “Saebyuk, who used to be small enough to sit on the top of my hand… she is now a giant poodle. keke”. In the picture, Seulong and his dog, Saebyuk, are sitting on a couch having a great time. Seulong, with a ‘father’s smile’, looked onto his dog as a father would look onto his child.

In particular, fans were surprised to see Saebyuk grow such a significant amount in a short time span. Saebyuk used to be small enough to fit on top of someone’s hand back in October when Seulong originally posted a picture. Netizens commented, “What kind of dog food did she eat?”, “She really is a giant size”, and “Growth rate is definitely a bit too fast ^^.”

Seulong recently revealed a very masculine photo of himself.

On May 4th, he tweeted,

“It’s a picture I liked but didn’t make it into the magazine. The point was to pour water all over my mouth.“

In the picture, Seulong is found wearing a sleeveless shirt drinking water. In particular, the water trickling down his neck has upped the sexy appeal, making female fans’ hearts flutter.

2AM member Seulong recently showed off his airport fashion.

On April 27th, Seulong tweeted, “I didn’t sleep so my condition is… I’m going to sleep a lot on the plane! I’m going to meet fans in the Phillipines”, along with the tweet he also added a picture.

Seulong played by the book in his airport fashion – wearing sunglasses and a khaki jacket, displaying a natural look. In particular, netizens admired his height and length that allows any outfit to look superior on him.

Netizens stated, “Because he has the height, whatever he wears looks good” and “This is the same outfit I wear to school, but the feeling is totally different.”

Meanwhile, 2AM has gone to the Philipines to start off their Asia Promotional Tour. They’re also scheduled to head to Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
