Having wrapped up filming for her drama ‘Light and Shadow‘ and earning compliments for her improved acting skills, Son Dam Bi is getting ready to make her return to music.
On July 6th, a representative of her agency revealed, “Son Dam Bi is putting all her efforts into preparing her new album. She is in the final stages of choosing her songs and has already completed her album jacket photoshoot.”
“Son Dam Bi is scheduled to make a comeback in the beginning of August, so she is currently handling a busy schedule as she still has her recording and music video filming left to complete,” he continued.
Although the concept has not been completely finalized, it has been revealed that the singer will be returning with a dance track to heat up the summer even more with an accompanying sexy choreography.
As Brown Eyed Girls‘ Ga-In is also reported to be getting ready for a solo comeback soon, music fans are curious to see how the two soloists will fare with both expected to release their tracks around the same time period.

Through question and answer sessions as well as fun little quizzes on her career, Son Dambi communicated her inner-most thoughts with her fans. She also transformed into a one-day barista and passed out drinks she made herself.
As she’s known for her love for animals, she decided to hold it at the ‘Keep Pet’ cafe. All profits made that day were donated to an organization for the protection of animals.
Son Dambi stated, “I’m grateful that I’m able to spend my birthday at such a meaningful event. I’ll continue to lead the way for the protection of animals. More than anything, I’d like to thank my fans for coming all the way here to celebrate my birthday.”

Cosmetics brand ‘Enprani‘ has announced that they will be canceling their contract with singer Son Dambi in addition to suing her for $1 million USD due to a breach of contract.
On August 24th, the Seoul Central District Court revealed that ‘Enprani’ had filed a lawsuit demanding $1 million USD for compensation in damages, as Son Dambi and Pledis Entertainment had breached their contract by endorsing ‘ELCA‘ and ‘MAC‘.
The head manager of ‘Enprani’ stated, “On October 14th, Son Dambi signed an exclusive contract with our company with a clause that prohibited her from working with other competing companies and/or other cosmetics advertisements and events. However, she breached the contract by modeling for ‘MAC’ cosmetics beginning May 24th.”
They continued, “‘MAC’ and ‘ELCA’ have been using Son Dambi as if she was their own model by including her in magazines, internet advertisements, and all other press releases with regards to their products.”
‘Enprani’ added, “Her agency made an excuse stating that ‘ELCA’ had used her portrait rights without permission for their advertisement and press releases. However, the fact that she promoted and advertised their products while still under contract with us can only be regarded as a breach of contract.”
‘Enprani’ is demanding $840,000 USD (double the amount of $420,000 they paid to Son Dambi and Pledis) on top of an additional $169,400 USD for production expenses used on her advertisements. The company filed an additional claim against ‘ELCA’ that’s estimated to be $300,000 USD.

While interviewing the star on the CF set for her latest endorsement, ‘Descente‘, Son Dambi was joined by her personal trainer, Jung Ju Ho, who oversaw her exercise regime.
Son Dambi stated, “Taking care of your body requires patience, concentration, and professionalism. To get a perfect body shape with those curves, you can’t just take control of your weight; you must lose body fat as well. It’s hard, but it’s worth it. After shooting numerous sports CFs, I’ve been hooked on training wear and running shoes. I like to wear exercise clothing that doesn’t suffocate the muscles.”

23 Februari: Son Dambi announced that her entire schedule has been revamped in favor of her music comeback in May.
After completing her “Queen” promotions last year, the singer planned to focus on her acting career in 2011. She first made her acting debut in 2009 through SBS’s “Dream“, which unfortunately recorded a dismal 4.9% in viewer ratings. Still, Son Dambi hoped to use the New Year for a fresh start, and sought new opportunities in the acting field.
After going examining countless potential dramas and movies over the past few months, she found nothing that would satisfy her. Instead, the talent has decided to turn back to her original roots – music.
Over the next few months, Son Dambi will be undertaking weight, vocal, and dance training in preparation for her comeback. Although songs have been collected, the overall concept of the album remains undecided.
