Back in 2005, Kim Tae Hee was appointed as the spokesperson, and has been meeting with different children that are diagnosed with incurable diseases to encourage them with cheerful messages and gifts.
It was brought to Kim Tae Hee’s attention that Hyung Joon, a 13 year-old boy suffering from leukemia, has always dreamt of becoming a baseball player. It turns out that the boy is also a big fan of Kim Tae Hee, and in order to return her gratitude, she personally purchased the bat, glove, and ball, autographed each item, and sent it to Hyung Joon.
After receiving the unexpected gifts, Hyung Joon stated, “My health isn’t so good, but I will continue to get treatments everyday with the bat from Kim Tae Hee noona right next to my bed, so that I’ll be able to play baseball with all my friends.”
Kim Tae Hee will continue to hold fundraising campaigns and charity events for the organization which is currently established in 36 other countries.

Today, Fuji TV announced a new fall drama called “Boku to Star no 99 Nichi“, starring actor Japanese actor Nishijima Hidetoshi (40) and South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee (31).
For Nishijima, this will be his first starring role in a commercial drama. Up to this point in his career, the actor tended to be more active on the big screen and only chose a few supporting drama roles.
On the other hand, Kim Tae Hee received a lot of attention in Japan for her role in the South Korean blockbuster drama “IRIS“, that aired on TBS last year. She’s going to challenge her first starring role in a Japanese drama with this project.
“Boku to Star no 99 Nichi” is going to be a light romantic comedy, with Kim Tae Hee playing the role of ‘Han Yuna‘, a big South Korean star just like her real life self. One day she happens to run into an ordinary, and pretty boring, 40-year-old man called ‘Namiki Kouhei‘ (Nishijima), who somehow makes her fall head over heels in love with him.
Nishijima commented, “I’ve always wanted to do a fun love story that still manages to pull at your heartstrings.”
Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hee is eagerly learning Japanese for the drama and stated, “Japanese is really difficult, but I hope that it will become a drama people from both countries, Japan and Korea, will be able to sympathy with.”
The drama is going to air every Sunday at 9pm, a tough time slot, as it has to compete against TBS and their big-budget Kimura Takuya drama “Nankyoku Tairiku“.

To help her advancements in the Japanese entertainment industry, Kim Tae Hee had signed with the same agency as Horikita Maki. From the picture, it is extremely hard to believe that Kim Tae Hee is actually 8 years older than Horikita Maki! They both have fresh, young-looking faces so such a discrepancy is easily overlooked.

The Korea Professional Baseball League is currently a third of the way into the season, and on June 18th, popular actress Kim Tae Hee participated in the opening pitch for the LG Twins in their home game against the visiting SK Wyverns at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
Having greeted fans over the years through drama and film appearances since 2001, this was the first time in Kim Tae Hee’s career that she took to the field to throw the opening pitch, and it was upon request from LG because of her endorsement deal with them and the team.
And Kim Tae Hee was sure one lucky charm as the Twins defeated Wyverns by 8:5.

Kim Tae Hee recently paid a visit to her younger brother at his military base.
On May 11th, pictures of Kim Tae Hee visiting Lee Wan at his military base were uploaded onto the official homepage of TV program, “Military Rediscovery”.
In the photos, netizens were able to see Kim Tae Hee signing T-shirts for the soldiers while Lee Wan happily looked on.
The producers of the program stated that Kim Tae Hee told Lee Wan, “The military is a really good place. If you didn’t go to the military, how would you learn how to clean and do your laundry?” She also said, “By the time you come out from the military, you will have become a man.”

MBC’s special celebrity biography, “Tae Hee’s Rediscovery“, captures the star’s daily life, and is set to air on April 1st.
During the episode, an honest interview with the beauty, who has dealt with acting criticisms all throughout her career, will be revealed.
The star debuted in the drama, ‘Screen‘, and commented about the criticisms, saying, “When I was growing up, I did not hear any criticisms. But I feel like I heard every criticism possible [after debuting].”
About her movie ‘The Restless‘, the actress stated, “Truthfully, I thought I understood my character completely, so I didn’t expect to get criticized that much. ‘You’re acting in a school play.’ ‘Your acting is like crap.’ I have heard of every possible criticism.”
She also stated, “I even thought, ‘If even ‘IRIS‘ doesn’t do that well, will people look for me? Can I, as an actress, put hope on myself?’”
After ‘IRIS’ ended successfully and Kim Tae Hee won her first acting award, she sobbed for a long time.
Kim Tae Hee revealed, “If I didn’t act, I wouldn’t have worried so much, felt so much, or even met so many people. Even though acting was a big burden in the beginning, now I’m very thankful for being able to act. It changed like that. In one moment.”
The actress’ middle school grades were also revealed, and it was reported that she had an average of ‘100′ for all subjects throughout her three years in middle school.
Her 8th grade teacher stated, “In 24 years as a teacher, she was the first student I’ve seen who had 100 for every subject for all three years. If you see her report card, you could see that no one could achieve that feat.”

From February 28th to March 12th, SevenEdu held a survey titled ‘Who is the Star You Want to Spend White Day With?’. Out of 512 votes, 200 of them went to Kim Tae Hee. The actress managed to collect 39% of the votes, thanks to her irresistible appeal in her latest drama, “My Princess”.
The runner-up was Shin Min Ah, who garnered a statistic of 37.5% (192 people).
The two actresses are sure to boost their star powers, since they both have upcoming projects in Japan. Kim Tae Hee is looking forward to her career’s expansion, as she recently signed a contract with Japanese management company, Sweet Power. As for Shin Min Ah, her hit 2010 drama ‘My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox’, will soon begin airing on Japanese airwaves through TBS network.
