Because there were four of them, they demonstrated their knowledge by getting the idioms right. On the 13th question which asked who the president of children is, Leeteuk joked that the president of children is Leeteuk. Regrettably, they missed the 18th question and received the total score of 95 points. They have scored the highest yet along with the last interviewee Kang Sooyeon.

From the get-go, the boys of Super Junior were a topic of hot discussion. Launching their career in 2005 as a 13-member boy group, they’ve been reduced to 10 active members due to the departure of Han Geng and the absence of Kangin and Kibum.
Though all 10 members have branched out into acting, unit promotions, and solo activities, there were four members in particular who managed to shine in their respective areas; they’re none other than leaderLeeteukKim HeechulYesung, and Shindong.
Coincidence or not, the four are dominating the prime time slots of MBCSBS, and KBS respectively, and are highly recognized for their witty gab talents.
The reporters of JoongAng recently met up with the four at a fusion restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul and enjoyed a glass of soju or strawberry cocktail for a laid-back interview.

The reporter asked, “What’s your alcohol limit?”
Leeteuk: “Maybe a bottle of soju?  I can’t drink that well because I end up throwing up whatever I ate afterwards.”
Heechul: “I just drink a lot (laughter). I even drank till the early morning yesterday.  I’m close with B2ST’sJunhyung and met up with him for dinner.”
Yesung: “I can’t drink that well either.  About half a bottle of soju is good enough for me.”
Shindong: “I can drink about a bottle and a half of soju, but I like beer more than soju.  Beer and chicken is the best combination.  Maybe it’s because I resemble my mom the most that I like beer (laughter).”
The reporter brought up the fact that Shindong’s parents were running a beer restaurant, and Shindong quipped, “Yes, that’s true.  But won’t people think I’m advertising if I talk about it here? (laughter)”
Since all four of them are active radio DJs, listeners can basically tune in for six consecutive hours, which fans have dubbed ‘SuJu Time’; their programs run back-to-back from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM every day. Considering the substantial DJ experience they’ve garnered so far, the reporter asked the members to rate each other’s performances.
Leeteuk: “Heechul has a very free personality and is rough to the point where I sometimes question whether it’s okay to act like that.  But I think that’s actually a positive quality for him.”
Heechul: “Teukie is a veteran with five years of experience.  He’s very skilled at hosting smoothly and comfortably.”
Leeteuk: “I’ve been working with Yesung lately, and he’s very fast at adjusting”.
Yesung: “I’ve only been working on the radio for a month, but I think having experience with a DMB broadcast is helping a lot.  Of course, it was a lot of pressure at first.”
Heechul: “Shindong runs his radio as if he’s talking at some event. He truly seems to be made for radios.”
-
The reporter then asked if they ever had any on-air slip-ups.
Shindong: “I accidentally dozed off, which could’ve resulted in an accident. Once, I was so tired that I began sleep-talking while dozing off.  I had to tell the listeners that a pizza would be provided as a gift, but I accidentally said a ‘bow’ because I had seen a bow in my dream.  Thankfully, it went over well and I didn’t get caught (laughter).”
Heechul: “I make the mistake of switching up the artist and their song a lot.  For example, instead ofSunye’s ‘Maybe,’ I’d say Maybe’s ‘Sunye’ (laughter).”
Leeteuk: “When I was working with Eunhyuk, there was an incident where it made me burst out into laughter.  We were introducing Miley Cyrus’ ‘Party in the USA,’ but said ‘Yoosa’ instead of ‘U.S.A’”
And what about their memorable guests?  Heechul revealed, Jewelry’s Yewon guested a while ago, and she was so cute.  I was totally smitten with her (laughter).”
The four have been faring so well in the radio and broadcast arena that they’re even being called the next generation of popular MCs. They’re speculated to take over the roles of the current big names, which includes Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Gura, and Kang Ho Dong.
Responding to the praise, Leeteuk said, “It’s all too much, we can’t live up to that yet.  I did talk about it once with Boom hyung, who’s being discharged this summer. We both agreed to work our hardest for the next 10 years to become like our seniors.”
At the question of who resembles Yoo Jae Suk the most, Heechul replied, “Leeteuk.  I think that’s why he works so well with Kang Ho Dong.”
Then who fits best with Kang Ho Dong?  Leeteuk chose Shindong.  Shindong himself explained, “Heechul hyung is like a mix of Kim Gura and Shin Dong Yeob, character-wise.  Even if he says sharp criticisms, you don’t hate him at all (laughter).”
As for Yesung, he expressed that he’d rather focus on music for now: “I want to do well in that genre too, but I think that my focus and role is in music for now.”
The remaining members readily agreed by nodding their heads, acknowledging that Yesung is at the top amongst idol singers in terms of live vocal talent.  The four even revealed that the majority of one of their hit tracks had Yesung’s voice as its base.
Guiding the discussion towards their six years of experience as an idol group, the reporter asked if they ever reflected on their past memories.
Leeteuk: “It can’t be put in words.  Just thinking of a particular moment makes me laugh. One time, Kangin and I agreed to pull a prank and pretend to discipline the younger members as a joke. When we were just about to begin, Yesung stepped up and said, ‘It’s all my fault’, making us all burst out into laughter.”
Yesung: “Leeteuk hyung’s nickname used to be ‘My Room Teuk’ because he’d always call the members into his room no matter where we were in order to build teamwork.”
Shindong:, “There probably aren’t any other idol groups like us.  Whenever we do something wrong, we discipline ourselves and even ask our manager to reprimand us.”
-
When asked how they endured the aftermath of Han Geng’s leave and Kangin’s absence, Leeteuk replied,“It’s really unfortunate, and I’m especially upset lately because I haven’t been able to get contact Kangin properly lately.  I was understanding in that everyone makes mistakes, but once he made the same mistake twice, I really did become upset.”
When asked to explain his controversial response to rumors of Han Geng’s claims that the Super Junior members avoided his phone call, Leeteuk explained, “There may have been a misunderstanding, but I can’t hold myself back when it comes to something affecting the members negatively.  I made a post on Twitter because I felt responsible as the leader to speak on behalf of the members.”
-
Being singers themselves, the conversation turned to the hottest topic of the music industry today: MBC’s “I Am A Singer.
Shindong stated, “I was really surprised at the idea of bringing such legendary seniors together into one show.”
Heechul added, “For me, it’s great and I love being able to listen to old hits again.  Even for us, we have a hard time recognizing rookies on ‘Inkigayo‘ and will ask each other who they are, so the show feels a lot closer to us in that regards.  The controversies surrounding it are disappointing, though.”
Yesung hoped, “If I could ever receive an opportunity in the future, I’d love to be able to appear on the show.  I’m neighbors with Yoon Do Hyun, so I do meet up with him often.”
-
To conclude, the men were asked what their future plans were for military service, dating, and marriage.
Leeteuk revealed, “I’m worrying a lot about my service, actually.  I’m not sure yet, but personally I think I’ll be entering sometime by the end of this year or early next year.  I’ve also thought that it’d be cool if we all entered together around the same time, since we’re of similar age.”
On dating, Heechul revealed, “It’s not that I don’t date, but I don’t have plans for dating or marriage for now.  I’ve never been in a relationship where it’s lasted for more than a couple months.  I want to get married between 33 and 35 years old, and although I’ve said this many times before, I’m considering an interracial marriage as well.”
When asked about his scandal with Kim Yuna, Leeteuk clarified, “I’ve already clarified this many times, but people still tend to ask about it.  To repeat, I’m apologetic towards Kim Yuna for whatever way I affected her. I’ve never seen her after our uniform CF together. And Yesung friended her on mini-homepage before me.”
“So does that mean you’re not dating anyone?” the reporter asked.  Leeteuk replied, “When I have nothing to do, I mainly stay home and surf the internet so I’m well aware of the rumors.  They’re all misunderstandings, though (laughter).  I’m thinking of getting married around 35 or 37.”
Since Shindong aleady has a girlfriend and potential marriage partner, the spotlight shifted over to Yesung.  “For the past 10 years, my ideal woman has been Moon Geun Young-ssi (laughter).”
-
Lastly, what are their plans for future album releases?  Leeteuk revealed, “At the earliest, we’ll be coming out with our fifth album this summer.”

19 Maret:  Super Junior was selected as honorary ambassadors for Korean cuisine, and now they’ve finally revealed a CF featuring Leeteuk, Shindong, Heechul, and Yesung.  With their

characteristic friendliness and humor, the four shared their “secret” recipes for bibimbap, a

Korean dish that mixes rice, fresh/cooked vegetables, meat, and gochujang (chili pepper

paste).

What went into their bowls?  Leader Leeteuk made bulgogi bibimbap (marinated, barbeque

beef); Shindong created samgyupsal bibimbap; Heechul made beef bibimbap; and finally,

Yesung made chicken bibimbap.

At the end of the CF, the members encouraged everyone to try bibimbap before digging into

their own bowls.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Super Junior without some funny outtakes at the end, and as usual, the

boys did not fail to provide some giggles.  Towards the end of the clip, Shindong breaks out into

a short, but nonetheless comical rendition of Secret’s “Madonna“, before abruptly cutting

himself off with a stern, “Gil Ra-im-shi“.  He walks off camera singing “Appear” by Kim Bum

Soo, and the rest of the members follow suit, with “Secret Garden” references abound.

Heechul parodies the squeaky, “You’ve got a text” message, and Leeteuk closes with Kim Joo-

won’s famous quote – “Since when has our audience been so pretty?

Super Junior leader Leeteuk recently stated that he wished to see the Hallyu wave spread across the entire globe, and it seems like his group may enjoy that kind of foreign recognition this year. It’s no secret that Super Junior enjoys a large fan following on the international platform; in fact, it was informally revealed yesterday that the male group would be featured on an upcoming episode of the Arabic program SCOOP by Raya Abirached.
According to Abirached’s Wiki page, SCOOP is the most famous entertainment show of the Middle East. Abirached, a Lebanese-British TV presenter, is extremely well-known in the Middle East as one of the first Arab journalists to interview Arabic stars (Omar Sherif, Ragheb Alama) as well as top tier music stars (Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Shakira), film celebrities (Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, Clint Eastwood etc) and other names from sports and fashion. She has mentioned working with Justin BieberSarah Jessica Parker, Paris Hilton, Michelle Williams as Ryan Gosling as well. Abriached also hosted the American Idol competition in Dubai and is co-presenting Qusai Kheder Arab’s Got Talent.
On Twitter yesterday, Abirached (@rayascoop) tweeted, “After Got Talent, i am doing a Super Junior KPOP invasion on SCOOP, that’s April!” It’s unclear what kind of program this will be, but it seems to be a feature on the Hallyu Wave with a special focus on Super Junior, as they are indisputably one of the forerunners of the Hallyu phenomenon.

In China, if you ask someone to name just one of Korea’s numerous idol groups, they usually pick Super Junior. How did Super Junior, who performs in all of Asia as if it were just one big stage and sells out all their concert tickets, manage to break into the important Chinese market?
Recently, a Chinese media outlet analyzed Super Junior’s charms and attempted to reveal how the idol group got so popular in a relatively short amount of time. Their song, “Sorry Sorry” was especially popular, often picked as one of China’s favorite K-pop songs.
The results found that the easy-to-follow lyrics and the unique choreography captured Asia’s attention; In Taiwan, the song captured 1st place on one music chart for over 30 weeks. This was said to be an unusual occurrence and during that time, only “Sorry Sorry” could be heard in Taiwanese cities.
Although there have been several changes in the members of Super Junior over the past 5 years, they’re still regarded as Asia’s top boy band. In a surprisingly short time, they became the symbol of the Hallyu Wave. Their “rubbing hands” choreography was followed by Asians all over the continent, with pirated contents popping up on the internet, and fans following their dances and uploading videos onto the web. The simple yet addicting melody and dance became the reason for the song’s overwhelming popularity.
Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk commented, “I think people like the special choreography as well, rather than liking the song alone. This is why so many people in Asia love our song“.
When Super Junior members travel to China, thousands of their fan girls greet their arrival, waiving their trademark blue light sticks. The Chinese media was surprised by the massive fan power, and explained, “Super Junior’s popularity not only comes from their good looks, but from the talent that comes from being trainees for several years“.
Super Junior is among the only idol groups that can sing live while performing difficult choreography. China is also paying attention to the unit groups of Super Junior. K.R.Y, composed of Yesung, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun is known for their spectacular vocals. Super Junior M, composed of Siwon, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Donghae, and Henry, is known for their superb member configuration.
Super Junior M, especially, has succeeded in entering the Chinese market for using the ‘Localization Strategy’. With the members singing in Chinese, they have succeeded in gaining many Chinese fans. Siwon elaborated, “Super Junior M purposely has a Chinese member to target the Chinese market. We also can speak Chinese pretty well so we understand the locals“.
With the various aspects of the idol group, they’ve broken the notorious K-pop boy band rule, “That groups all disband 5 years after debuting“. Chinese media commented, “The Chinese audience is always looking for ‘fresh’ artists. Since Super Junior has a lot of members and can always give off a fresh vibe, they’re able to be loved for a long time“.
The group is now working towards breaking into the American market. Their participation for the concert in L.A. (SMTOWN) this past September was sold out completely. Not being satisfied just by their success in the Asian market, the group is attempting to conquer the American market as well.
The Chinese press made this last comment, “Super Junior is a well-respected and well-loved superstars. Sometimes they even exist as your friendly next-door neighbors. Everything from the members’ talents to their honest and truthful personalities make up the reason why they’re so dearly loved by the fans“.

A representative from the Music Industry Association of Korea stated, “We’ll be releasing accurate data for fairness in our analysis of the music market. After the conference, we will be releasing all music-related data through our homepage.”

Super Junior sekali lagi membuktikan superior popularity di Asia.
Super Junior mengadakan ‘The Third Asia Tour – Super Show 3 in Singapore’ di Indoor Stadium SIngapore.

21 Januari: On the 19th of January, the Sina Web Awards was held in Beijing at 7PM, and saw the appearances of celebrities such as Ge You, Fan Bingbing, Wang Luodan, Hai Qing, Miriam Yeung, Han Geng, Bibi Chou, Wang Xueqi, Feng Xiaogang, Rodney Wu, Guo Degang, Yao Chen and more. The King of Newcomers Han Geng obtained the honour of Male Singer of the Year, and he admitted that the year 2010 for him was a very unforgettable year. After filing a lawsuit for the nullification of his contract with his previous company, he has also released a new album and held a solo concert, whereby he had reaped large rewards from them. When talking about the movie “Da Wu Sheng”, he expressed that the character he played in the movie was very alike his own personality: “Personally I’m a very introverted person, I’m very quiet. I would keep everything in my heart and refuse to say it out, but I have an idea (of what I want) in mind.” At the same time, he also revealed that there are a lot of scenes where he acted opposite Da S (Barbie Hsu), and thanked the other party for teaching him a lot of things.
After a long-drawn contract termination battle, Han Geng became stronger, and whenever he was faced by some negative remarks about his previous company and also the rumours that he had turned against his SJ brothers, Han Geng would always answer with a smile: “There are some things where it’s fine to let people say what they want to say, it’s good enough that I’m clear with what I should do. The entire 2010 was a very fruitful year to me; my mood has turned good since coming to the new company. Furthermore, I’ve released a new album and also held a concert which belonged to myself, (so) I’ve really gained a lot. I hope that I can continue to have more rewards in the year 2011, (like) releasing a new album, (and) hold concerts in even more locations.”
The movie “Da Wu Sheng”, which is Han Geng’s first foray into the movie world, would be cranking up the hype soon. He revealed that in the movie, he plays a character whose personality was very much alike his own, so it was rather easy to fit into the role while acting: “There are a lot of monologue scenes in the role I play, and it’s very much alike my own personality (which) is quiet, keeping everything in my own heart and refuse to say them out loud, but I have what I want in mind.” Han Geng also mentioned that he had a lot of opportunities to act opposite seniors Barbie Hsu and Wu Chun, and that he had learned a lot of things from them, thereby benefiting a lot from it.
