Super Junior Extends a Warm Welcome to Visitors
At the July 26th ceremony that named Super Junior as the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Honorary Ambassador for Korean Tourism, the K-pop group left a special message for their fans, especially the members of the official KTO homepage, VisitKorea. In response to the reporter’s question of which summer getaway they would recommend, the group’s leader, Lee Teuk, said, “While it is difficult to pick one, as Korea has so many attractions, we would like to recommend Jeju-do Island, and the host city of the 2018 Winter Olympics, Pyeongchang of Gangwon-do Province.” Meanwhile, Super Junior was selected by KTO to lead the promotion of Korean tourism after being voted as the top Hallyu star travel buddy in the final event of the VisitKorea 10th Anniversary Event series.




Super Junior to Lead Korean Tourism Promotion

Leading K-pop group Super Junior has been appointed as the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Honorary Ambassador for Korean Tourism. The group was selected as they had received the most votes in the recent online survey asking members of the official KTO homepage, VisitKorea, which Hallyu star they would like to travel to Korea with. Following the naming ceremony, which took place at the KTO headquarters on July 26th, Super Junior will engage in various activities for promoting tourism in Korea.
Also, on the same day of the naming ceremony, KTO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SM Entertainment, the agency for top K-pop groups including Super Junior and Girls’ Generation, with a view to advancing the Korean tourism and entertainment industries. The MOU on mutual and collaborative partnership is expected to contribute greatly to the overseas expansion of both Korean tourism and Hallyu.

As reported earlier, Hallyu idol group Super Junior was recently appointed as Korea’s tourism ambassadors. On July 26th, they signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Korea Tourism Organization’s head, Lee Cham, in a simple ceremony to officialize their status.
This agreement between SM Entertainment and the Korea Tourism Organization gives a greater opportunity for cooperation in order to further develop aspects of the Hallyu wave, which include overseas activities, tourism, and more.
Lee Cham revealed, “Both companies are going to help secure the Hallyu wave and will work on projects for the development of tourism and the entertainment industry.

SM and Korea Tourism Organization signed MOU for KTO’s developments at KTO’s underground theater.
Lee Teuk of Super Junior who attended the event said, “Thank you for appointing Super Junior as the honorary ambassador. We will try our best to further popularize Korea to the world.”
SM’s representative Kim Young Min stated, “Culture and tourism are closely related, and when they are combined, I believe that a Hollywood can be made in Seoul. MOU will further develop fashion, tourism, and music which are also known as K-pop and K-culture.”
SM will be collaborating with KTO to create a synergy effect of the Korean Wave.
Super Junior was selected as the honorary ambassador because they ranked No.1 in a survey for foreigners asking, “Who is the k-pop star that you want to travel with?”.

Hallyu idol group, Super Junior was recently appointed as Korea’s tourism ambassadors.
On July 26th, the Korea Tourism Organization will be signing an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with SM Entertainment.
Through this agreement between SM Entertainment and the Korea Tourism Organization, it gives an opportunity for cooperation to further develop aspects of the Hallyu wave which include overseas activities, tourism, and more.
In addition to the signing, the organization will also present the group with a certificate. Recently, Super Junior was voted as the #1 hallyu star to go on a vacation to Korea with on a poll held by the tourism organization.
The president of Korea’s Tourism Organization, Lee Cham, revealed, “On the occasion of signing the MOU, both companies are going to help secure the hallyu wave and will work on projects regarding to the development of tourism and entertainment industry“.
