Many a Little Romance

On October 19th, the cast of ‘Many a Little Romance‘ attended the film’s production conference at the Apgujung CGV in Seoul.

The event was Han Ye Seul‘s first public appearance in nearly two months since her controversy with ‘Spy Myung Wol‘, so reporters were hot on her heel. In fear of attention being focused on such a topic, MC Kim Tae Jin asked, “Please only ask questions regarding the movie”, to reporters.

Han Ye Seul and Song Joong Ki appeared at the event looking as bright and friendly as ever. Song Joong Ki was asked, “This is your second time working with Han Ye Seul since your drama, ‘Will It Snow on Christmas’. What is it like?”

He replied, “I never bumped into her on set, and I was a rookie at the time so I jus twanted to see her in person for once. I genuinely think she is the prettiest celebrity in our country, so just hearing that I’d be able to work with her made me elated. I thought to myself that I had grown a lot as an actor. Of course, I will probably feel the same way when working with other actresses, but for now, this is how I feel.”

Han Ye Seul cheerfully called out, “Olleh! I didn’t think he thought of me like that. I knew that he was a bit different from everyone else when I saw him at our drama dinner. I’m glad that we’re working so well together.”

Han Ye Seul was also asked about what this movie means to her, to which she replied, “I’ve never once thought of hitting jackpot through the success of a project. I just hope that this movie gives people a chance to look back on their lives.”

‘Many a Little Romance’ is a movie about ‘Hongshil’, a woman who’s so stingy that she purposely doesn’t date to save money, meeting and falling in love with ‘Jiwoong’, a man with no job that wants to date, but doesn’t have the money to. The movie hits theaters on November 10th.

Actress Han Ye Seul has admitted that her luxurious image is just a veneer painted by the industry packaging her and she just just an ordinary person.

On October 19th, the main cast of ‘Many a Little Romance‘ gathered for a production session at Seoul’s Apgujung CGV theatres. Han Ye Seul and Song Joong Ki appeared to introduce their new movie and their characters. Han Ye Seul introduced her character ‘Hong Shil’, as ”a very stingy, and tough girl who devotes her life to saving money.”

Commenting on her co-star, Song Joong Ki, Han commented, “Song Joong Ki is a young friend so I thought that he would have a hard time adjusting. But he was surprisingly smart and was very social. I think he is very talented and has many skills. He looks like a pretty boy, but he is very manly“.

She was also asked if she would date a guy who was poor.

The actress answered, “When I was young, I looked at a guy’s financial stability, but now that I’m capable of making money, I don’t really mind“. She then added, “But if a guy was very uptight about spending money, then I think I would have a hard time“.

When Han Ye Seul was asked if she went through a tough time like her character in the movie, she answered, “Before I was a celebrity, I was just a normal person. The luxurious image was made because of how the public viewed me. When I’m back in society, I become a normal person again. I think the main focus of the movie was showing the heart of a poor person. I think Hong Shil was trying to fill her emptiness with money.”
