As KBS ‘Poseidon‘ prepares to air its last episode, viewers are curious to know how the romantic plotlines will come to a close.
On a recent episode, Poseidon’s main couple Kim Sun Woo (played by Choi Siwon) and Lee Soo Yoon (played by Lee Si Young) teased viewers with a near-kiss during their date on the rooftop. The kiss was interrupted at the last second, as Soo Yoon was suddenly kidnapped. With this suspenseful plot twist, viewers have been focusing their attention on the duo for the final episode, curious to find out if they will be able to fulfill their romance.
The viewers will also be tuning in to find out how things will pan out between the four characters involved in a complicated four-way romance between Ji Ah (Kim Yun Suh), Min Hyuk (Han Jung Soo), Choong Sik (Jung Woong Tek) and Dae Sung (Park Sung Kwang).
The staff remarked, “The end result of all the love relationships will be revealed. Please show your love and support for Poseidon until the very end.”

Poseidon‘s last episode is coming up and it is intriguing the audience’s curiosity about Heuksahoe’s Choi Hee Gon. At the same time, the audience is also paying attention to the endings of  the romance between ‘hard-fist couple’ Choi Siwon and Lee Si Young, ‘politely-assisting couple’ Lee Sung Jae and Jin Hee Kyung, and ‘love quadrangle’ Han Jung Soo, Jung Woon Taek, Kim Yoon Seo, and Park Sung Kwang.
The ‘hard-fist couple,’ Kim Sun Woo (Choi Siwon) and Lee Soo Yoon (Lee Si Young), is attracting the biggest attention from the audience, and Soo Yoon is currently in danger, being held by Heuksahoe. However, as Soo Yoon got kidnapped, Kim and Lee both realized that they loved each other sincerely. The audience is wondering if they can have a happy ending.
Jung Ryool (Lee Sung Jae) and Hae Jung (Jin Hee Kyung) are called ‘politely-assisting couple’ and they indeed have a polite and supportive romance. The audience is wondering if Jung Ryool can catch Heuksahoe’s Choi Hee Gon and accept Hae Jung’s love at the end.
The audience is also paying attention to the ‘love quadrangle’ of four supporting roles, which is the most complicated romance in this drama.
The actors and actresses expressed their sad feelings about Poseidon‘s ending.
Choi Siwon said, “I really appreciate the crew members, the coast guard who has always been supportive, my colleagues who have been through a lot together, and the audience who has loved Sun Woo. Lee Si Young said, “I’ll do my best until the end. I am very sad that I have to say good-bye to Poseidon family and Soo Yoon. Until the last moment, go Poseidon!”
The production company said, “There will be an ending for the romance along with shocking reversals at the end. Please give your support and interest to Poseidon until the end.”
The story is currently focusing on whether or not Sun Woo and the criminal investigation section 9 can rescue Soo Yoon safely and reveal Choi Hee Gon’s identity and whereabouts of the main characters’ romance.

Many viewers have different opinions regarding the ending of KBS 2TV’s Poseidon, which only has two episodes left before the ending.

On the bulletin board of the official website of Poseidon, various assumptions have come up.
Some have predicted that Dark Society is actually a government controlled organization, and others say that the TV series will end in season one not revealing who Choi Hee Gon is.
What attracted the most attention however, is the drastic ending that one of the main characters will die. A few netizens pointed out that in Iris, Cho Won director’s previous work, the main character Lee Byung Hun died in the end. Therefore they say that one of the characters will also die in Poseidon.
The production crew says, “All staff members are remaining silent to keep the ending a secret. We believe that the viewers will be totally unprepared for the ending. Please look forward to it.”

28 September:

Yunho has been the star featured guest on the new KBS 2TV drama, ‘Poseidon‘, but he will be making his exit after the 4th episode.
This was Yunho’s first time taking up a role in a drama since 2009, and fans’ expectations were high for his ‘Poseidon’ character. Although he has reached the summit as a member of Changmin set the bar high performing his role in ‘Paradise Ranch‘, Yunho needed to step up his acting game.
Thanks to his good looks and action scenes, his acting received well reviews across the board. Fans wanted to see more of him after news of him exiting the show had broken out. They demanded that Yunho’s character be given more lines, as he was one of the main leads in the first few episodes. They wanted to know more of his story and background.
The staff hinted at a possibility of Yunho rejoining the cast later in the story. PD Ki Seung Mo stated, “There is a possibility of Yunho coming back on set. The drama is left flexible enough for him to possibly join us later on in the story.” Yunho’s character is a good mix of hot and cold and he is an essential character that may need to come back to tie the drama together in the end, they explained. Yunho’s character, Kang Eun Chul plays the role of a loyal officer who is linked with another main in the story and sacrifices himself to save Sunwoo (played by Choi Siwon).
Yunho’s character Kang Eun Chul is the head of the maritime police special forces unit, and in the 4th episode he suddenly leaves the country leaving behind many questions left to be answered.

The singer who is making a cameo appearance in the drama actually carried out all of his acting scenes on his own, without using a stunt double.
An insider on set reported, “He arrived on set after a long flight but did not show any signs of fatigue. He read over his lines, and was prepared to get into character. Although he is an idol star, he is humble and works very hard. We were shocked by his professionalism.”

The two are known to regularly throw around a few casual punches at the end of each shoot, and Lee Si Young’s impromptu boxing lessons began grabbing interest. Choi Siwon is also a stellar athlete, and doesn’t lose to his co-star in the least. 20 September:

KBS 2TV‘s highly anticipated new drama “Poseidon” kicked off with a bang on September 19th, as it saw a reasonably high viewership rating and also received a great deal of positive feedback after the broadcast.
A large portion of viewers, however, expressed their disapproval of the drama’s main OST track as they believed it didn’t match up with the drama’s setting, and many claimed to have a hard time properly immersing themselves in the climatic scenes of the show.
Shortly after the episode ended, viewers visited the drama’s official board and left comments including,“Weird music came out during the most climatic scenes of the episode”“It completely killed the mood of the scenes”, and “I have no idea why you decided to choose that song for the main scenes.”
Rather than the usual adrenaline-pumping OST tracks played in the background during action-packed climatic scenes, the song that played had more of a light-hearted, hip-hop style that didn’t quite fit along with the scenes taking place, which resulted in a lot of viewers to be taken aback and lose their connection with the drama.
Meanwhile, the first episode of the “Poseidon” received a viewer rating of 6.9%.

Member of male group Super Junior, Choi Siwon, once again took another leap on acting through KBS 2TV New Monday-Tuesday drama 'Poseidon' (Screenplay Cho Kyuwon Production Yoo Chulyong).

'Poseidon' aired its pilot episode on September 19th where Choi Siwon took the role of Kim Seonwoo, a member of a marine special force.
When they conducted an investigation for one organization, Kim Seonwoo lost his colleague causing him to be demoted to Gunsan. But he still tried to look for a clue that will lead him to this organization. However Kim Seonwoo comes back to the 9th investigation department during the process of finding a clue to this organization.
February this year, through SBS drama Athena: Goddess of War, a brilliant act from Siwon who took a role of NTS's elite had him recognized as an actor.
Compared to action-act in 'Athena', Poseidon was more exhausting. Lost colleague and lovers that we love, it needs appropriate sad feelings. At the same time, expectation are raising due to comical-act in some scenes.
Choi Siwon has been reborn from 'junior-actor' to 'Actor Choi Siwon.' At the press conference held earlier for the pilot episode, Choi Siwon revealed that, "Poseidon changes my acting-career".
We are keen to see what kind of performance Actor-Choi Siwon will give us!

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon slept with Lee Si Young on their TV series Poseidon.
In the episode of KBS’s new Monday-Tuesday series Poseidon, which will air on the 20th, Choi and Lee slept together in the same room.
Maritime police officer Kim Sun Woo (played by Choi) was transferred to Kunsan and met Soo Yoon (played by Lee) for the first time.
Kim fell in love with Soo Yoon at first sight but their first meeting got off to a shaky start right from the beginning. Since they had unintended night together, their relationship will get more vague.
On the 13th, Lee and Choi shot the scene at the set in Paju. Choi only wore his training pants and Lee’s disheveled hair really looked like they just woke up. Because of the cell phone ring, they woke up and surprised after they saw each other.
Lee started hitting Choi and Choi looked confused. Their realistic performance made the entire crew laugh out loud.

The cast for “Poseidon” are praising Super Junior‘s Siwon.

On September 15th, at the premiere in Seoul for KBS’s new series, “Poseidon” Lee Si Young, Lee Sung Jae, Jung Woon Taek, Gil Yong Wooand other actors/actresses on the cast were present and gave tremdonus praise for Siwon.
In the drama, Siwon plays corporal Kim Sun Woo, a former top marine special forces member that suffered demotion after a reckless investigation that lead to a loss of a teammate. Although this isn’t Siwon’s first rodeo as an actor, because he is from the music industry, the idol member tag precedes him.
Going against this stereotype, his partner in the drama, Lee Si Young stated, “In all honesty, I was worried at first since Siwon is a very popular idol singer that he wouldn’t talk to me and make the shoot more difficult, making it very hard to be friends. But on the first day of the shoot, Siwon surprised me by approaching me first, saying, “Let’s be good friends”", showing her gratitude for Siwon’s attitude.
Han Jung Soo, who plays sergeant Oh Min Hyuk, stated, “Siwon shows respect for his seniors and works very well. There’s people that don’t talk to you simple because they’re idols, but Siwon is the type that approaches you first to make conversation”, introducing Siwon’s friendly personality.
The super senior in acting, Gil Yong Woo, also shared his praises, “Siwon constantly asks about everything and anything on the set, so there is no way I wouldn’t like him… I can even say he’s lovely”.
Receiving high praise from his fellow cast, Siwon stated, “I was very nervous because the cast was full of very talented seniors, but they took care of me very well and gave me a lot of advice, my nervousness turned into thrill… We are filming with great teamwork and “Poseidon” may be the step to a new challenge in my life“.
In related news, “Poseidon” is the first Korean maritime police drama that deals with real stories in bringing in, or taking out criminals that work in the waters. “Poseidon” will premiere on September 19th as the follow-up to “Spy Myung Wol”.

On September 15th, Super Junior‘s Choi Si WonLee Sung JaeLee Si YoungHan Jung Soo, and other co-stars attended the press conference forKBS‘s upcoming drama, “Poseidon“, and discussed their anticipation for the drama.
Choi Si Won will play the role of a corporal named ‘Kim Sun Woo’ from the special forces in the marines.  When asked about working with many respected seniors in the industry, he replied, “They all help me and teach me so many things.  My nervousness has been transformed into a newfound excitement of what’s to come.  There’s a lot of great team working going on, and I’d like to consider this drama as a new challenge in my life.”
When asked whether Super Junior gave him any support, he amusingly replied,“They didn’t do anything special, really.  They’re all working hard on their own individual activities.”
Choi Si Won also touched on the harsh view being put on idols that are making advancements into the acting industry without any real talent or experience.  He stated, “The only way to break the stereotypes against idol-turned-actors is to just work hard.  If you work hard, people are more understanding of your mistakes.  No matter how hard each episode is, the only way to overcome it is to do your best so that you are left with no regrets.”
When asked who the ‘atmosphere maker’ on set was, Lee Sung Jae chose Lee Si Young with no hesitation.  “It’s usually rare for an actress to play jokes with me, but I was thankful for Lee Si Young-ssi for approaching me first.  She’s always practicing boxing on the set and treats her male co-stars like sandbags.” Lee Si Young answered, “Lee Sung Jae senior’s cold gags really help liven up the atmosphere.  He loves doing word plays.”
Han Jung Soo added, “He does the kind of gags where you don’t know where you’re supposed to be laughing.  About 40 of us will be sitting there with a straight face while only Choi Si Won laughs at his joke.  I really thought he was quite the mannerly kid then.”
Lee Sung Jae continued to tease Choi Si Won by continuing, “There’s a popular phrase that Choi Si Won always says once he arrives on the film set, and it’s either ‘How did it come out?’ or ‘Are you okay?’”
Director Yoo Chul Yong concluded, “The one thing that I’m confident in for ‘Poseidon’ is the cast’s teamwork.”

26 August:
Super group SJ's member Choi Siwon has discarded his boy-next-door disposition, changing his style into a matured man.

In the KBS Monday/Tuesday drama Poseidon, which would be aired beginning 19th September, Siwon would be challenging the character of Kim Shinwoo, a Marine Special Forces personnel whose career fell apart due to a messy case.
On 15th August, Siwon appeared at the Nonsan, Donghae beach with wheat-coloured skin, a clean white shirt, floral-patterned beach shorts and shades, immediately catching attention. He who was emanating a valiant vibe and cool, was closely chasing bikini-clad girls who were passing him by with his eyes.
The content of that particular day's shoot was that Shinwoo had came to the beach together with his junior Bae Daesung (played by Park Sungkwang) and close brother Wonta*, and was gazing at girls all the time. Shinwoo, who was formerly the ace of the marine special force, sank into a depression after an incident in Gunsan City, and became a person who loitered around a lot.
Siwon, Park Sungkwang and Lee Sanghun finished filming their scene in a relaxed manner as though they were at a beach resort, and in order to create an authentic atmosphere, the producers have hired more than 100 extras**. Because of the persisting rain, the whole filming process was delayed for two days, but under the actors' hard work, the whole filming process wasn't affected too much.
The drama crew for Poseidon mostly base their settings by the sea, and the actors and staff were tanned because of this. Nevertheless, Siwon's tanned appearance gave him the extra edge in carrying Shinwoo's character off in a better manner.
The production company also expressed that "Just like the Korean Nautical Police have said, we would like to grasp the opportunity to show everyone the cooling seaside through this drama", and that "Choi Siwon, Lee Shiyoung and other young actors gives off the youthful feeling, resulting in the drama being filled with energy and the taste of youth."
* Certain character names are guessed based on how the sounded like in Chinese, may have discrepancies because of that. If anyone has the full list of characters of Poseidon in Korean, please notify me ^^
** To be the beach-goers.

1 August:

After facing many issues with regards to its production, “Poseidon” has now confirmed that it’s finally on course for its September broadcast date.
The drama’s production company, KBS, announced on August 1st that actor Lee Sung Jae, actress Lee Si Young, and actor/singer Choi Siwon would be the main leads for the drama.
With only one month remaining until the show airs its pilot, the main cast will gather together on August 2nd for a script-reading session; they will then plunge straight into full-scale shooting.
“Poseidon” had met with a lot of issues and was originally scheduled to air in March through SBS. Unfortunately, plans fell through and the original cast – comprised of Eric, Kim Kang Woo, Kim Ok Bin, and TVXQ’s Yunho – subsequently left for other projects.
The project was resurrected in mid-June by KBS, although many had concerns as to whether “Poseidon” would actually take off, since the main cast members were undecided until today.
“Poseidon” is tentatively set to debut on September 5th, replacing “Spy Myung Wol“.

30 June:
After the disappointing news of action drama “Poseidon” officially getting canceled for filming and broadcast early last month, it looks like the drama has been revived after all!

The plot of “Poseidon” is based around the self-sacrificing work lives of four elite maritime policemen, and had originally cast Shinhwa’s Eric, Kim Ok Bin, Kim Kang Woo, and TVXQ’s Jung Yunho.
A representative of the producing team stated, “As Korea’s first ever maritime drama series, we believe viewers will be able to feel a sense of satisfaction as they follow a string of mysterious police cases. Viewers will be able to confirm for themselves the grand scale and roughness of Korea’s beaches.”
Because of the uncertainty hanging around the status of the drama earlier, the original cast had all left for other projects and work is being done to get a new cast on board as soon as possible.
The blockbuster drama has been scheduled for broadcast this September on KBS 2TV, after the completion of the upcoming drama series, “Spy Myung Wol”.

5 June:

the uncertain fate of action drama “Poseidon“, and it seems that the series has been hit with more road blocks.
The plot of “Poseidon” followed the lives of four elite maritime policemen, who were to be played by Shinhwa’s EricKim Kang Woo, Kim Ok Bin, and TVXQ’s Yunho. Despite the exciting cast, multiple filming delays popped up due to weather conditions and other unforeseen issues. As a result, two of the actors – Kim Kang Woo and Kim Ok Bin – decided to drop out of the drama as other opportunities to act came up.
After patiently waiting for the issues to clear, it seems that Eric decided to withdraw from the series as well.
Eric’s representatives stated, “There was a mutual agreement to have Eric cease his participation in ‘Poseidon.’ We’ve only filmed 20% of the first episode since last December, and we waited for more filming to be done. Nothing happened, so we decided to drop out. He is now working with the drama ‘Spy Full Moon‘.”
The creator of “Poseidon” simply stated, “Filming has been suspended.” Though there were plans to get new actors and continue filming by May 2011, it seems that the series will be getting canceled.

8 April:
Eric’s upcoming drama, “Poseidon“, was previously scheduled to resume filming in March, but it was recently revealed that the filming was canceled, leading many to question the future of the drama.

“Poseidon” first began filming last year, and recorded up to five episodes’ worth of footage. However, due to the Yeonpyeong Island skirmish that took place last December, future filmings were postponed until March. Unfortunately, the project still lacks a confirmed filming schedule as of April 7th.
With the absence of developments, the actors are considering dropping out from the drama altogether.
On April 7th, a representative of one of the cast members spoke through Star News and revealed, “We had no option but to begin filming for another drama while ‘Poseidon’ continued postponing their filming schedule. Even if they were to begin filming again, it’s going to be difficult for us to return due to our conflicting schedules.”
Another representative commented, “There are talks of the drama being filmed completely before its air date, but we can’t just continue waiting like this.”
