Jungmo and Changmin posed playfully for the camera and Brian gave the camera a big smile. They looked like a close family all dressed in black, and Changmin wore a burgundy scarf that matched Brian’s hat. After two months of anticipation, the Seattle-based pop rock band New Heights is officially releasing the music video for “Nightmare“, their collaboration track with Brian Joo!
Earlier this year, news of the collaboration made headlines and delighted fans of both artists, and the release of “Nightmare” in August proved that New Heights and Brian Joo make an excellent musical match. With an extremely catchy chorus and lyrics about the turmoils of a relationship.
Featuring DJ Yup and directed by Dan Fisher (D-Fish), Ed Park and Kenson Lee, this music video takes place in a haze of eerie smoke with flashes of light and static to perfectly match the vibe of “Nightmare”. This is New Heights’ second music video from their latest album “Something to Believe in”, and the band’s third music video overall.

8 October:
Brian Joo is currently belting his heart out in the Korean production of “Rent“, which will soon be wrapping up. Contemplating his next project, it seems like he could be taking his career to new heights. Literally.

When Brian embarked on his mini “Unveiled” tour earlier this summer, he met up rock band New Heights in Seattle to create a few tracks like ”Nightmare” and ”Domino (Acoustic ver.)“. The boys have been keeping in touch through Twitter, and on October 8th, they exchanged ideas proposing that Brian Joo come tour with the band.
Travis Graham first tweeted Brian with the half-joke, “Dude can you please be in New Heights??“, to which Brian replied, “I’m seriously considering it, maybe even for like the next album… And I can tour with y’all… It would be so much fun.”
New Heights’ official Twitter later sent out a tweet asking fans to “re-tweet if you think Brian Joo and New Heights should go on tour together“.

7 September:

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Brian Joo, and so we’re really excited to announce that he’s back with a gorgeous acoustic rendition of “Domino“!
“Domino”, which was originally penned by Drew Ryan Scottis a sweeping R&B track with lyrics that express the terrors and joys of falling head over heels in love. While the original track included in Brian’s mini-album, “Unveiled“, was lush and intricately layered, Brian’s acoustic version is simple and soft.
Working with Travis of New Heights, the acoustic version strips away all the bells and whistles from the original, giving the listener nothing but pure talent.
Check out the video below!
Brian Joo and New Heights had also collaborated for a new song called “Nightmare“, which you cancheck out here.

13 June:
Two months ago, ex-Fly to the Sky member, and now solo-singer, Brian Joo made his return to the K-pop industry for the first time in a year with his mini-album, “Unveiled“. The singer officially concluded his comeback promotions on the June 10th episode of KBS’s “Music Bank” and an interview with TV Daily.

Brian began, “I wanted to promote for a longer time, but I wasn’t able to perform a lot on music programs for a variety of different reasons. It’s both disappointing and refreshing. What’s most sad is that, as an artist, I wasn’t able to show different sides to fans with my music. But I still think good things will come. I hope that people will wait for and anticipate my next comeback.”
He continued, “I have also been cast in a musical in mid-August. Since I can’t work as both a musical artist and singer at the same time, after my musical ends, I am planning to release my next single.”

When asked how he felt ranking 19th in the States, 7th in Canada, and 5th in Japan on the R&B/Solo charts, he replied, “I never thought I’d enter and achieve such high rankings on the charts. I’ll be going on an American showcase tour soon, so I hope to return with more great achievements. I’m going to the States to find a road for me to walk on. I want to find what I can show to the public in the future.”
On the topic of fellow singer Kim Hyun Joong, who recently made his own solo debut with “Break Down“, Brian stated, “I was overcome with an unexplainable feeling when I saw him perform solo, since I’m used to him working in a group. I expected him to go on stage with his other members, so it felt a bit awkward seeing him alone. Still, his performance was excellent. His song is great and his choreography is also powerful.”
He continued, “I once MC’d on a music program with him but we’ve since gone our separate paths and forgot to keep in touch. It was nice seeing him again, and we promised to keep in touch and see each other more often.”
Kim Hyun Joong also left words of encouragement for Brian’s American showcase tour. Immediately after his “Break Down” comeback, he told Brian, “Hyung, be careful and return safely.”
Brian will be kicking off his showcase tour in Seattle on June 17th.

18 April:Brian Joo has been facing some accusations of plagiarism lately, and his agency came forward to explain their position on the issue.

Jellyfish Entertainment revealed on the April 18th, “The song in question, ‘The Components of Tears’ is a song that we got from Drew Ryan Scott, and is the same song that’s uploaded on YouTube.”
They continued,  ”Overseas composers sometimes upload their songs on YouTube or on a similar website and sell their songs. We are sorry we did not recognize this earlier, and caused confusion for those who believed that Brian plagiarized the song.”
Some netizens believed that Brian’s main song, “The Components of Tears” was directly copied from Drew Ryan Scott’s song, “Domino“; the confusion spread even further when they discovered Brian’s track, “Domino (The Components of Tears)” on the same album. As it turns out, Drew Ryan Scott is credited for both “The Components of Tears” as well as for “Domino”.
The entertainment agency wrapped things up and stated, “As we always have done, Brian and the rest of the agency’s artists will always promise to meet their fans with the best and beautiful musics.”

12 April:
Singer Brian Joo, who recently made a comeback after a year in hiatus with his new title track, “It Ended Amidst Love”, explained his mistake in singing the wrong lyrics on last week’s episode of SBS’s“Inkigayo”.

During an interview with Newsen on April 11th, Brian explained, “My mistake in singing the wrong lyrics during my comeback on SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ was not because I was nervous, but because of a personal problem that caused me to lose my focus.”
Brian forgot the lyrics twice in his comeback performance of “It Ended Amidst Love” on Sunday, causing fans to worry about whether the singer was feeling ill that day.
Brian continued, “To be honest, I nearly made a mistake right from the beginning of the song. The moment I started, I couldn’t think of the lyrics and I thought it was going to turn out into a disaster. I was able to keep my focus in the end, but I did make a couple of mistakes during my performance. I was meant to show a professional image in front of my fans, so I apologize.”
Some have speculated that his personal worry sprouted from the controversy that arose from his allegedly controversial stereotypical imitations on KBS’s “100 Points Out of 100“ this week.
