Lee Min Ho

30 December:
Actor Lee Min Ho‘s popularity is on the rise, as seen by the numerous casting offers he’s been receiving from producers in China.

His most recent work proposal was for a production with top star Andy Lau. A representative stated, “Lee Min Ho’s most recent love call was a piece with Andy Lau. If he were to accept it, then this piece would surpass [the borders of] Asia and become a global project. Lee Min Ho is very popular in China. He probably has more popularity than most idol stars. There has been quite a competition on casting the star.
Thanks to his hit drama ‘City Hunter‘, Lee Min Ho has been receiving a ton of invitations for fantasy and action pieces. Last July, famous Hong Kong and American film producer Terrance Chang made a surprise visit to the set of ‘City Hunter’ just for Lee Min Ho.
Lee Min Ho’s agency stated, “It is true Lee Min Ho has been receiving a lot of casting calls from China. However nothing is confirmed. We will make a decision after careful thinking and planning.”

12 December:
Earlier this month, actor Lee Min Ho stole the hearts of 10,000 fans while on his ‘2011 Asia Tour Fan Meeting‘ in Shanghai and Beijing.

The concept of Lee Min Ho’s fan meet was ‘fantastical musical’, and so the star delivered an entertaining, if not unique experience for his fans, who flew in from Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, and Japan.
The opening stage saw Lee Min Ho descend into the concert hall from wires attached to the ceiling, much like a scene straight out of his drama, ‘City Hunter‘. He then put on an impressive acting scene before going on to perform “My Everything” from the ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ special album.
For his next stage, Lee Min Ho dressed in a sleek black suit before performing the Beatles‘ “Yesterday” and “I Will” with a band. Fans even got to see him show off his dance skills with a Michael Jackson silhouette parody.
Through simple games, the star interacted with his fans, gifting them with personal presents he had brought from Korea. Perhaps the most touching moment was when he sat before a piano and played a few songs, before taking out letters he had written for his fans and reading them out loud.
The finale unveiled Lee Min Ho’s two new songs, which he had worked on with composer Hwang Chan Hee. One of the songs was a medium-tempo rock track called “Say Yes“.
Representatives stated, “While spending meaningful time with his fans on the Asia tour, he is also discussing other dramas to take on since concluding ‘City Hunter’.”

30 September:
Lee Min Ho‘s adventurous Chinese fans have recently become a hot topic after photos of the idol being chased were revealed on the internet.

In the photo revealed on September 30th, Lee Min Ho can be observed getting into a car with fans surrounding him in every direction. Despite Lee Min Ho’s big and bright smile implanted on his face, it appeared that it was quite tough for the local officers to keep the crowd under control.
The actor made his way to China from September 25th to the 27th in order to attend the launching event for Hyundai‘s new vehicle, ‘Veloster‘.
A representative of Lee Min Ho revealed, “Not only in China do the fans go wild. Any foreign country we go to, we always have cars chasing us. Due to safety issues, we contract local law enforcement agencies prior to our arrival, in order to keep things organized and safe for fans.”
Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho was nominated for ‘Best Actor’ at the 5th annual ‘Korea Drama Festival‘, planned to take place on October 2nd.

23 September:

On the 22nd, actor Lee Min Ho conducted a live interview with his Chinese fans through social networking site, Weibo. The chat lasted for an hour and within that hour, Lee Min Ho was asked a torrent of questions totaling 13,500, setting a new record in China.
Due to the number of fans trying to access the site and have a chance to chat with him, the site’s servers slowed down to a crawl and the interview was hindered by many slowdowns and other issues, but it only further proved his popularity in China.
Weibo’s live interviews are only reserved for the most elite of entertainers in China and this was the first time it was conducted with an celebrity from overseas. Needless to say, with 13,500 questions in just 60 minutes, it exceeded everyone’s expectations. In regards to their server slowing down, they remarked, “it just doesn’t happen to us“.
Lee Min Ho’s agency stated, “The number of participants for an interview with a Chinese celebrity ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand; in the case of an elite celebrity, perhaps 20,000. The interview with the main 5 cast members of China’s most popular drama had 120,000 participants altogether. But Lee Min Ho alone being asked 13,500 questions in under an hour is thought to be record-breaking. It just doesn’t compare.
China praises Lee Min Ho as his popularity is truly remarkable and what makes this interview more amazing is that they announced it only 24 hours before it actually took place.
Sina.com remarked, “He has set a new record with over 13,000 questions in an hour. No one can deny his fame here in China. We had so many questions, that we could not answer all of them in detail. Lee Min Ho conducted the interview well, handling the various questions from fans. Through this event, he showed them his humorous and witty personality.”
Lee Min Ho will be visiting China on the 26th for the launching party of Hyundai Veloster in China, which he will be personally endorsing.

Actor Lee Min Ho has been swept up in a controversy that claims he’s undergone plastic surgery.

The rumors emerged after a photo began circulating on the internet, in which Lee Min Ho was seen posing with doctors at a plastic surgery clinic (“Star Line Plastic Surgery Clinic”).
Since celebrities often take pictures with doctors after receiving service from a particular clinic, netizens immediately jumped to the conclusion that Lee Min Ho had undergone a procedure.

Lee Min Ho’s agency, StarHaus, promptly dismissed the rumors, saying, “He took that picture three to four years ago because he’s close friends with the doctors. He’s never received plastic surgery.”
They continued, “Two years ago, he was caught up in a plastic surgery controversy because of this picture. The fact that people are making an issue out of this again is absolutely preposterous.”

One media outlet had held an interview with Lee Min Ho and reported, “After Lee Min Ho’s popular MBCdrama, ‘Personal Taste‘, he had recently broken up with a girl, who was a year younger than he was, after dating for about 6 months“.
However, Lee Min Ho’s agency, Starhaus Entertainment, explained, “The parts where everyone were simply joking around was emphasized as the truth when the interview was published“, and added, “The break-up isn’t true at all“.
In addition, they said, “They met through acquaintances and became friends but they actually never dated“, and also said, “Their relationship wasn’t serious enough to call it dating“.
The agency also commented on the published interview, “During the interview, Lee Min Ho’s friend was also present at the interview and had merely joked about the two being in a relationship but it had been published as it was the truth. The rumors of Min Ho dating are false and so are the break-up rumors“.

Actor Lee Min Ho, who recently concluded his popular drama ‘City Hunter‘, shared a shocking confession about how he broke up with a college student last year.

In a recent interview with Daily Sports, he revealed, “After I concluded filming for ‘MBC’s ‘Personal Taste‘, I dated a woman who was a year younger than me and a student in college for six months.
He elaborated, “After I finished shooting for ‘Personal Taste’, I had a lot of time. While I was eating one day, I saw a female college student. It had been a long time since I met a woman who was unrelated to the entertainment industry, which was nice. We didn’t tell my agency and started to date. We dated secretly for six months, but we broke up because of personality differences.
Since he’s now wrapped up ‘City Hunter’, the reporter asked Lee Min Ho about what he planned to do with his free time.
Lee Min Ho replied, “I want to date. I ended a lot of relationships because of the excuse of not having enough time. Even though my close relationships with actors grew, I sometimes thought it would become an obstacle. Now, with whatever effort, I want to meet a new person. When I meet a good person, I want to hang out with her without letting anyone know“.
He also chose his ideal type to be Song Hye Kyo’s character in the drama, ‘Full House‘. Lee Min Ho explained, “She is mentally mature and also has a bright female style, which is my ideal type. Although I look at appearances, I am not the type to focus on it like other people. The feeling is important. When I first meet that person, it’s important for me to feel comfortable with that person. Even if I don’t pay attention to it, I get attracted to people who I feel comfortable to.
Lee Min Ho stated, “Women [I want to date] can be over 20, they seem mature in love. I think it’s important to have a lot of experience in love to have a deep love. I want to meet a thoughtful woman who makes me feel happy just by looking at her.

When asked about which of his action moves were the most memorable for him, he said it was the “Spoon Move”. He had practiced it so many times that he could now execute it with his eyes closed.
The move is supposed to be done with a sword, but because we can’t use that on set, we substituted it with a spoon.”
