Kim Jisoo began, “We may be from different broadcasting networks, but our dream is one and the same.”

Mnet’s director, Shin Hyung Kwan, commented, “While working on ‘Superstar K’ for three years, I’ve debuted a lot of contestants-turned-singers.  Because of that, I know the hardships and obstacles they face in their music careers, as well as the type of help they need.  That is why I wanted to provide a stage for them to all come together.  I hope that this will be the start of many more stages for audition singers to perform on.”

For this show, CNBLUE were able to display their superior musical and instrumental skills through songs that viewers were less familiar with as well as covers of songs from other artists.
They started out the show playing “One Time” from their latest album, “First Step“, letting loose and rocking out with their instruments. Jonghyun then proceeded to perform “Lie” from the same album. Before singing the song, he stated, “This song is called ‘Lie’. I wrote this song at the waiting room of a music program. It’s about not believing that a loved one is leaving. Please listen to it well.”
Aside from their own songs, CNBLUE also performed covers of Lee Moon Sae’s “Girl” and Maroon5’s “Sunday Morning“. For “Girl”, Yonghwa sang his heart out with just his acoustic guitar, creating a sincere mood for the ballad track. Similarly, Jonghyun came out with just his acoustic to sing “Sunday Morning”, showing off his sweet, smooth voice.

20 April:
CNBLUE recently guested on Mnet’s “M SoundPlex” and shared their thoughts on the various stereotype rumors they’ve had to deal with as idols since their debut.

The band was first revealed to the public as a talented, all-around idol band that was capable of writing, composing, and live performances. Unfortunately, with the group being tagged with ‘idol’, the public took it to mean that they were just kids taken from wealthy families that pretended to know how to compose songs and play instruments.
Calmly, the members explained, “We know that there are a lot of misunderstandings regarding our image. However, 10 out of our album’s 12 tracks were self-composed, but the pubic isn’t usually aware of that. The members also play instruments on stage 100% live. People are quick to say that we’ve never gone through any hardships, but that’s not the case at all.  We’re actually glad that they think like that.”
The conversation was then carried over to the topic of Yonghwa’s popularity. Contrary to what the public thought, the members revealed that they were not jealous at all. “Yonghwa hyung suffers so much to get our name better known with the public. We’re always apologetic for that and think to ourselves that we have to work that much harder too.”
They continued, “Because we feel sorry for Yonghwa hyung having to go through so much schedules, we’ll usually all wait up for him in the dorm instead of sleeping. If we can’t stay up because it gets too late, we always leave a text message saying, ‘Sorry hyung. We’re sleeping first!!’”
With a laugh, they added, “Sometimes Yonghwa hyung will bring us delicious snacks at night.”
Check out the full broadcast on April 23rd.

3 April:On the April 2nd edition of Mnet’s music live show, “M Sound Plex,” Big Bang held an honest talk session with 200 audience members at the site of their mini concert. The topic of Daesung’s sexiness came into light during the session.

Daesung filmed his first-ever bed scene for the music video of Big Bang’s latest title track, “Tonight.” Up until now, he has been showing the ‘cool and fun guy’ image to the public through variety shows, so his bed scene in the music video came as a shock to many fans.
During the session, fans threw in many questions at the members, with one being, “What is a bed scene to Daesung?” Daesung exclaimed, “After filming the bed scene, the other members have continuously been telling me that I’ve become sexier.” The other members chimed in agreement, “He really has. The back of his neck is particularly charming.”
They were also asked, “When performing concerts, have any of you spotted fans who are close to your ideal types?” They responded, “Of course. We see many, especially during concerts.” After going around and sharing each of their ideal types, the members were asked to pick a fan from the audience who fit into their ideal types.
Later on, Big Bang stunned the audience with stellar performances. Daesung showcased a charismatic performance of “This Is The Moment” from the musical, Jekyll and HydeTaeyang performed Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back,” and his single debut track, “Only Look At Me.”

27 Maret:Big Bang was going to appear on Mnet’s new weekly music program, M SoundPlex. M Soundplex is a bit different from the other weekly music programs (ex. M! Countdown,Music BankInkigayo) in that it features live music performances and a real audience of 200 that have the opportunity to ask questions of the guests on the show.

If you’ve never seen Big Bang live, you’ll have to watch these performances.  Even without the flashing lights or glitzy production of the three weekly music programs, Big Bang still oozes charisma and puts on an entertaining performance. This week featured “Cafe” off of Big Bang’s 4th mini album, and then a slew of solo performances from GD&TOP and Seungri. The teaser for next week shows clips of Taeyang andDaesung singing solo, as well as some Q&A. In addition, we’ll probably be sure to see now-infamousSeungri hug, so stay tuned!
