22 Nov'10: Kangin tampil dalam konser army
Setelah Kangin mendaftar untuk wamil musim panas lalu, ia tampil dalam JinJoo Army Concert.
Kangin membawakan lagu  ‘A Short Journey’ dan ‘Sorry Sorry,’ ia juga mengadakan sesi tandatangan untuk fans. Check fancamnya...(oppa...hwaiting...)

21 Oktober:
Bulan Juli lalu, Kangin mulai menjalani 2 tahun masa military service. Sebelum tampil dalam Super Show 3 bulan Agustus, Kangin jarang tampil.
Heechul mengupload fotonya di Twitter saat mengunjungi Kangin.
Heechul juga menulis:

 More than anyone else who’s always on my side, master of aegyo, Young Woon. ㅋ I said to him “I just want to laugh and enjoy my life~ lately, there’s nobody around and nobody to lean on.” He responded by saying, “I’m sorry hyung-ah(brother).. i’m truly sorry…”He’s my little boy ㅋ
29 Agustus:
Catatan mengenai Kangin, di army training center terdapat di community site pada tgl 26 dan mendapat perhatian banyak fans. Menunjukkan kehidupannya tiap hari. Berat badannya turun 10 kg sejak enlistment, Kangin menyatakan, “As opposed to starving myself and dieting, leading a scheduled life with the right thoughts, naturally helped me become healthier.” When asked what he wanted to eat the most during his training, he answered, “Pork hocks, bossam, and ramen. It was hard for me to get rid of my snacking habits so I always thought of those three things when I laid down for sleep after roll call. It’s alright though. I eat a lot of  hardtack instead.”
Kangin also honestly revealed his feelings regarding his enlistment. “I suddenly felt that the world was moving on just fine without me after I began my army training. It made me want to give everything up. Still, I stopped thinking about giving up when I started picturing myself as a changed person in two years.”

As a message of thanks to his fans, Kangin concluded, “While I’m at the training center, I’ve received about 1,400 letters from fans. When I was a member of society, I thought that receiving letters and being supported was something definite. But now, it’s because of my fans’ letters that I’m able to live each day fully with a bright smile. I can handle any pain because I know that there are people that are waiting for me and remembering me. I want to stand back up as a person that has matured and is deserving of love.”
When asked about his future plans and activities after he is discharged, he carefully replied, “Instead of regretting anything, I’m reflecting a lot on my actions. I think I’ll be able to greet everyone and return to my activities once I receive forgiveness from the mass public.”
15 Agustus: Kangin, yang sedang dalam masa Korean military, memberikan surprise pada Super Junior konser lewat video. Pada tgl15, Super Junior mengadakan konser, Super Show 3, di Seoul Olympic Park. Sebelum konser , member mengadakan press interview dan menyatakan, “Even though Kangin is serving in the military, he will be making a surprise appearance. It has been planned for Kangin to perform Handel’s opera, Rinaldo, with us, but our hearts still ache. We wish he were there instead of just his voice. Kangin bergabung bersama member saat opera performance Handel’s Rinaldo dan membawakan orchestra version dari Lascia ch’io pianga. Kangin tampil lewat pre-recorded video dengan heartwarming performance di depan 10,000 fans yang hadir.
27 Juli: 

Awal bulan ini, Super Junior Kangin (Kim Young Woon) masuk army. 27 Juli adalah minggu ketiga Kangin menjalani training di Nonsan army training center. Tinggal 2 minggu lagi Kangin melengkapi basic training dan akan menjalani obligatory military service selama 2 tahun.

13 Juli: Kangin telah mendaftar untuk wamil awal bulan ini dan telah memulai lima minggu basic training di Nonsan army recruit training center. Setelah menyelesaikan training militer, Kangin akan mulai military service selama 2 tahun. Will miss him a lot..
8 Juli: 

Super Junior Leeteuk lewat Twitter, menyatakan perasaannya mengenai Kangin:

“I already miss him. Please depart and return in a healthy condition”

5 Juli: Kangin (25) menjalani basic military training at Nonsan army training center mulai tgfl 5 Juli selama 5 minggu. Setelah itu, ia akan ditempatkan di unit lain dimana dia akan mengabdi selama 2 tahun sebagai tentara.
Member Super Junior dan lebih dari 400 fans dari Korea, Jepang, Thailand dan China berkumpul pagi ini di pintu masuk army training center untuk mengantar Kangin.
Kangin mengikuti wamil lebih awal dibandingkan kebanyakan entertainer lain. Kangin telah mengumumkan rencananya untuk masuk wamil di fan meeting yang diadakan bulan Mei, dan berjanji akan kembali sebagai seseorang yang lebih baik dan dewasa.

24 Juni: Walaupun Kangin ditangguhkan dari aktivitas grup cuz kejadian tabrak lari, ia berpartisipasi dalam album repackge Super Junior yang akan datang dengan menyanyikan A Short Journey.
Lagu ini ditulis oleh Eunhyuk, dengan beats produced oleh Donghae dan diberikan sebagai hadiah kepada fans.
SM Entertainment menyatakan, “Before Kangin goes into the miliary, we wanted to feature him in one last song. It was agreed that the proceeds from all digital downloads of A Short Journey were going to be donated to underprivileged children.”
23 Mei:
Setelah mengalami berbagai masalah hukum, fans mengira mereka tidak akan melihat Kangin lagi sampai ia menjalani wamil.

Namun Kangin tampil saat Super Junior ELF 2nd fan meeting di Seoul Olympic Park Hall pada 23 Mei yang dihadiri oleh fans dari Korea, China, Jepang, Hong Kong, dll.
Kangin menyatakan, “My members had suggested that I should greet my fans at this occasion before I enter the military,” dan, “I hope that you all will continue to show support for Super Junior and the new album. I will work hard in the army and return to you all as a better person. I’m sorry and I’ll be back healthy and well.. 13 of us will be on stage in 2 years so please wait without having an affair.” Super Junior boys menampilkan BONAMANA, Coagulation dan Good Person dari album baru mereka.

4 Mei: Saat Super Junior mempersiapkan untuk comeback pada 13 Mei, SM Entertainment menyatakan Kangin akan mengikuti wamil bulan Oktober.
Tugas Kangin sebagai idol telah ditangguhkan sejak bulan Oktober 2009 karena kasus penyerangan pada bulan September dan kasus tabral lari pada bulan Oktober.
Kangin meninggalkan pesan di fan cafe.

 Hello, it’s Kangin. You’re all well, right?

As you all know, I’ve been taking some time to think about what I did and to look back at myself.
I decided to post this after a couple times of deleting and re-writing.
I would like to bow down and apologize to those that loved me and cheered me on.
My days have been filled with reflecting on myself, thinking why I ignored important things around me.
Fans asking me whether I will be joining Super Junior for the 4th album made me think about a lot of things.
And it made me write this.
The 4th album is almost complete and we’re all just waiting for the day that we will be able to meet our fans again…
and because I think that it is still too early for me to return and that I need more time to reflect on myself,
I don’t think I’ll be able to meet with you this time.

 Military service is a duty for all Korean males, and I’ve been thinking about when I should fulfill the duty myself.

I decided that now is the time to do so.
The exact date hasn’t been decided yet, but I will be joining the army in the near future.
I’ve been cheering our members on and I’ve been thinking that we’re all on the stage together.
Please show lots of love for the new album; our members put a lot of effort into it.
Kangin doesn’t exist without Super Junior, so please show lots of interest and love.
I will try my best to be back and be one with the members once again.
Please show lots of love for Super Junior, which is the beginning of me and the end,
and I wish that our fans stay healthy and filled with luck.

12 Januari: 

 Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office menyatakan Super Junior Kang In (Kim Young Woon) diharuskan membayar 8,000,000 Won (sekitar $8,000 USD) untuk kasus DUI and hit-and-run tahun 2009.
Pada 16 Oktober, Kangin menabrak taxi yang sedang parkir dengan tiga penumpang di dalam taxi tersebut dan ia meninggalkan tempat kejadian. Ia menyerahkan diri 6 jam kemudian, namun kasus tersebut tetap dianggap tabrak lari. Kadar alkohol dalam darahnya dilaporkan 0.082%.
Sejak saat itu, SM Entertainment menghentikan semua kegiatan Kangin, termasuk kegiatan Super Junior.
