Bekah

17 October:

Former After School rapper Bekah is rapidly gaining attention for a recent post on her personal Tumblr page that reflects on past struggles, performing and staying true to who you are.
Though Bekah doesn’t point fingers or specify which struggles she is talking about, the post is widely presumed to be directed toward her time with her former agency Pledis Entertainment as a member of After School.
Read it below:
a little honesty
“ Don’t Hold Your Breath ” by Nicole Scherzinger
This song explain simply what I felt and what was going on inside after all this time.
This isn’t about a boyfriend heartbreak, this is about giving everything you had to the someone’s or something’s and facing the consequences of being taken advantage of.
I just felt that you guys needed some honesty.
I’m so thankful for those who truly cared about me and for those who still do.
I just needed to let it out guys.  Believe me, I loved performing and still do but there are things that I could never explain…
When they tell you that you’re not enough. That you quite don’t meet their standards yet. Fuck it. You don’t need that kind of negativity.
In the end it’s about being happy with who you are and what truly is important to you.  That in the end, whatever they want from you isn’t important.
it’s about you.
peace, love & God Bless

ps: yes. i just swore. haha i’m not perfect.
The post has already sparked a huge reaction from international fans following Bekah’s Tumblr page. One replied, “I knew there was a reason why she was always my favorite.  I miss her performing but if she’s happier now than no complaints.” Another said, “You’re more than enough for us, Bekah. I can’t wait for the day when you prove them wrong. Please don’t give up on your passion just because some stupid person don’t appreciate you. Please continue performing.

11 July:

After bringing fans to tears over the announcement of her departure last month, Bekah has officially graduated from After School today with the release of her ‘graduation project’, her very own solo digital single titled “Take Me to the Place“.
Pledis’s official Twitter announced, “The song was first revealed through After School’s fan meeting, and today, it will be released as a digital single.  Please give it your love ^^.”
Personally written by Bekah, the song features beautiful lyrics and an equally beautiful voice singing it.  It might come as a surprise to most, especially since she’s known to be the rapper of the group.  Although it’s unfortunate that her talent is only able to fully shine on its own just now, the song will definitely be a sweet farewell that will remain in the memories of fans.

17 June:
Yesterday, it was revealed that After School’s Bekah would be graduating from After School. Earlier today, she shared her feelings through their official fansite.

On June 17th, Bekah posted on the Playgirlz fansite in both Korean and English. She said,
Hello Hello~~~
You saw the news articles today right?… I’m sorry~… I wanted to tell you personally… I wanted to think about it more~ Our fans… always gave me strength.. I was always thankful… Thank you always.. I really love you… I’ll really really really miss you~ Don’t be too sad… We can meet again… :] Though I would like to express more in Korean… Koran is hard kekeke… ㅜㅜ… So… I’ll write in English~~~ >.<
I just want to thank everyone for giving me so much of their love and time to support After School and me. I especially am always amazed at those fans who came to see me at Music Bank, Music Core, and Inkigayo.. it was a HUGE encouragement for me.. Right now.. I honestly, don’t know how to feel..I can’t imagine what you guys are feeling too. I just hope the best for all of you guys, you guys are truly amazing people. I pray that you guys will always reach for your goals and no matter who discourages you.. that you keep on going.
Life is crazy, how it can change in an instant. I’m REALLY going to miss you guys screaming out AFTER SCHOOL or even my name. Everything was a blessing for me and I will NEVER forget you guys. I hope to see you guys soon. Maybe when I visit Korea again I can see you guys somehow.. I love Korea and even though it was a different culture and lifestyle for me.. I grew to embrace it and love it. You guys truly real warm people inside. I wish you guys to just shine as brightly as possible and not be afraid to love one another. I’ve learned that there are a lot of people who are difficult to get along with or love…but still..loving each other is the best thing you could ever do in this world. Of course I’m still learning too..hehe.
I don’t want to say goodbye because I have a feeling I’ll be seeing you guys one day, maybe on the street, at a convenience store.. I’m not too sure but I will see you guys again. I love you guys with all my heart and I’m so blessed. I hope for the best for you guys and always smile. God bless you guys always. I love you… A lot a lot… :]

After School’s Bekah has announced that she will be departing from the group.
As fans already know, After School debuted with an ‘admissions and graduation’ concept. Although they’ve had several new additions over the course of their career, the group will finally be graduating a member next month, and its turned out to be rapper Bekah.
Pledis Entertainment representatives said, “Bekah made the request herself, so after much discussion with the members, her family, and our company, she has decided to graduate from After School and return to Hawaii to pursue her original dream of becoming a designer.”

They continued, “She will be taking graduation photos with the other members, and we will be releasing her graduation work soon. Until then, she will be spending time with her fans.”
Writing through Pledis, Bekah expressed, “I am preparing my graduation project while thinking of all of the happy times and experiences I’ve made. In the future, when my designing skills improve, I hope to design an album for After School as a gift.” Bekah’s graduation project is said to be a self-written solo track.
On one hand, Avex Japan who is managing After School for their Japanese advancement are holding auditions for a Japanese member to join them for their Japan promotions.

4 Mei:
Fans may have noticed by now that Bekah has been missing from After School’s “Let’s Step Up” performances. The girls have been earning headlines left and right for their impressive step dance routine, but where is Bekah?

Bekah herself recently revealed through Sports Chosun“I injured my ankle last year, which was why I was in the States. I recently injured it again during practice and wasn’t able to recover enough to perform our step dance routine. It requires surgery, but my schedule overlapped with our comeback so I had to push back my surgery date. I’m currently taking medication and am feeling better. It is upsetting that I wasn’t able to join the dance since I worked hard for it, but it’s okay because I’m able to rap on stage.”
She continued, “Fortunately, ‘Shampoo‘ doesn’t have an intense choreography like our previous promotions so there aren’t any difficulties for me. It’s been nearly a year since I’ve last stood on stage, so I’m both nervous and happy. I promise to work hard from here on out.”

17 Januari:
Bekah akan kembali akhir Januari untuk bergabung dengan persiapan comeback grup bulan Maret.
Juru bicara Pledis Entertainment menyatakan, “By the end of January, Bekah will be returning in order to prepare for After School’s Japanese advancement.
Fans mengira ia keluar dari grup, cuz ia absen dari promosi “Love Love Love”, dan ada penambahan member baru Noh Lee Young. Bekah sebenarnya berlibur di Hawaiian home.
Juru bicara menambahkan, “Kahi will be releasing her solo album mid-February. After School has Japanese activities scheduled in March for their advancement, and Bekah will be making an official return to the group starting then.
