29 May:

Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi disclosed his feelings on acting after starring in the drama ‘The King 2 Hearts‘.
Lee Seung Gi posted on his fan cafe on May 26, “To be honest, I was in despair during February, very much feeling [my] limits in terms of acting. Working with these [incredible sunbaes], I acted with the thought that I must not be a negative [to the drama] in mind, and each day I gave my all,” sharing the burden he felt while filming for the series.
He went on, “I don’t know when all 20 episodes finished, it felt like a brief instant. [I don't think I'll get a role like Lee Jae Ha again], and I feel as if it’ll have a long-lasting effect on me. If I insisted on the actor’s path after getting a bit of praise and thinking ‘Ah, now my acting eyes have been opened,’ it’s likely that I’ll regress quickly.”
The multi-talented star ended with a few words of gratitude towards his fans: “To all the fans who love ‘The King 2 Hearts’, thank you and thank you. I love you.”
‘The King 2 Hearts’ wrapped up on May 24, and Lee Seung Gi is preparing for his first concert in Japan, which is coming up on June 1.

5 Mar:

As promised, singer Lee Seung Gi (25) made a surprise visit to ‘Miracle Child’ Cho Eunseo.
‘Miracle Child’ Cho Eunseo is a 7 year old girl and the first person in Korea to receive seven internal organ transplants. Eunseo was born with a rare condition that prevented her stomach, small & large intestines from digesting food. Until now, she regurgitated any food she tried to eat, and therefore has maintained the past seveen years of her life by receiving nutritional supplement shots. But last October, a six year old suffering from brain cancer donated 7 internal organs to Eunseo, and after a meticulous yet successful 9-hour surgery, she can now live a normal life.
The surgery was completed by Kim Dae Hyun and the team at ASAN Medical Center, and they transplanted seven organs including a liver, pancreas, stomach, small intestines, duodenum, spleen and large intestines, allowing Eunseo to finally comfortably eat and digest food. The news of this miracle was reported on February 16th.
During an interview that took place after her surgery, Eunseo remarked, “It’s my wish to eat galbi (Korean BBQ) and hamburgers. I also want to meet Lee Seung Gi oppa.”
Upon hearing the news, Lee Seung Gi promised that he would visit Eunseo as soon as she had taken some time to recover.
Lee Seung Gi kept his promise and made a surprise visit to Eunseo in late February without making the news public, but rumors recently began circling that his visit was only the result of a request made by the politician Jung Mong Jun. Seung Gi’s representatives made an official statement regarding the rumors saying, “Lee Seung Gi went to see Eunseo as he previously promised, not because governor Jung had asked him to.” According to the representative, Seung Gi arrived at the hospital first, and governor Jung followed after.
Seung Gi’s visit with Eunseo was made public only after governor Jung wrote via his official Twitterpage, “Lee Seung Gi came to the hospital to see Eunseo,” and shared photos of sneakers and a scholarship certificate Seung Gi had brought as gifts.

On October 26th, Lee Seung Gi appeared for his 5th album release event called ‘Lee Seung Gi’s Five Minute Music Broadcast‘, where he talked about the future of his career.
When asked about his plans for the army, he revealed, “Time-wise, nothing’s finalized yet, but I’m planning to enlist in the beginning of next year. I originally wanted to enlist within this year, but I realized that I wouldn’t be able to do anything so I decided to wait for good projects.”
He continued, “My seniors are all serving in the army, and times have changed where it’s better to just quietly enlist. I’m not planning on waiting too long to enlist, however. I’d rather go when I’m young and healthy.”

Since he’s my senior, I learned many things over his shoulder. Although he never directed me, I learned so much over the years I’ve spent with him.”
He continued, “Instead of trying to fill his shoes, I’d rather just do what I can on my own.”
While on the topic of variety shows, he stated, “I think that variety shows are all about teamwork, which goes the same for ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ and ‘Strong Heart‘. I’m thankful to all of my seniors who helped me out.”

13 September:

It’s been revealed that singer/actor/MC Lee Seung Gi had originally intended to step down from his MC position on SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘ by the end of this October.
After it was announced that KBS‘s ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ would come to an end in February 2012, Lee Seung Gi had met with the producers of ‘Strong Heart’ in the beginning of September and expressed his wishes to leave the show.
However, after Kang Ho Dong shocked the nation with sudden news of his temporary retirement from the entertainment industry on September 9th, producers have been desperately trying to dissuade Lee Seung Gi from leaving the show. After all, if both MCs suddenly stepped down from their positions, the show would no longer be able to exist.
An official from the broadcasting company revealed, “The producers of ‘Strong Heart’ are currently quite at a loss for what to do now that one MC has officially stepped down and the other had originally intended to leave soon. The situation is changing everyday so we are not sure yet if Lee Seung Gi will really leave the show.”
Some believe that Lee Seung Gi should use this as an opportunity to gain experience as the main MC of a show. An official commented, “From the beginning of this year, Lee Seung Gi had been dreaming of one day hosting a show as the main MC. He could use this as a chance to start standing on his own.”
However, it’s been said that Lee Seung Gi had wanted to step down from entertainment programs in order to focus on advancing into the Japanese market and participating in other foreign activities. Since ’1 Night 2 Days’ would be ending in a couple months, it made sense for him to leave his MC position on ‘Strong Heart’ and pursue other activities.

21 Februari:
On the February 20th episode of KBS’s “1 Night 2 Days,” singer/actor Lee Seung Gi earned the sympathy of viewers for his severe level of fatigue.
The day’s episode featured a relay mission where the members were dispersed onto Korea’s five islands.  Lee Seung Gi, who had just returned from his trip to New York the day before, had the opportunity to catch up on his sleep in a car ride with the other members. Unfortunately, he was put in the Jeju Island team and was forced to wait in the airport for three hours, which worsened his condition.
After finally boarding the plane, he was then unable to fall asleep due to his jet lag, even when the show’s PD commented, “Your dark circles are all the way down here.  Get some sleep!”

18 Februari:

With rumors flying high about Lee Seung Gi’s supposed withdrawal from KBS’s “1 Night 2 Days“, the singer finally spoke up on the issue and made an official statement through his agency, Hook Entertainment, on February 15th.
The press report stated,
“This is Lee Seung Gi’s agency, Hook Entertainment.
Our agency would like to make an official statement regarding the rumors surrounding Lee Seung Gi dropping out of KBS’s weekend variety show, ‘1 Night 2 Days’.

Lee Seung Gi first joined the cast on November of 2007, and for three years and four months, has done his absolute best for the program he loves. Even at the height of his fame (where he earned the nickname ‘70% viewer ratings’ through his drama, “Shining Inheritance“), Lee Seung Gi continued making impressive improvements as the maknae of ‘1 Night 2 Days’ and is now being much loved as one of the best entertainers thanks to his talents in a variety of areas.
Despite having to stay up all night for his two drama filmings, he made sure that his performance did not get in the way for both ‘1 Night 2 Days’ and ‘Strong Heart.’ As he is a singer, a drama actor, and a variety star, there were times when schedules inevitably overlapped, and (we admit) when his stamina and condition wasn’t up for the task.
Others may say that it was out of his own greed that such a situation occurred, but since all three were areas that he worked especially hard in ever since his debut, he did not want to treat any one less important than the other. He knew that it was his work ethic which allowed him to earn the public’s love, and that is what made him work that much harder.

Our agency no longer wanted Lee Seung Gi to handle such a strict and excessive schedule and so we went into discussions with the producers of ‘1 Night 2 Days’ over his future activities, as well as his schedule. All of us came together for his growth and future, and with the understanding that it was now time for him to embark on a new challenge.
During these discussions, Kim C and MC Mong left the program, which led to another difficult time for the castmates and the producers. The five members came together to overcome the hardships and ensure that the program maintained its position as the #1 variety show.
Once the program regained its footing and another member was added, we intended to pick up plans for Lee Seung Gi’s departure. Unfortunately, reports were made that Lee Seung Gi would be leaving the program immediately; that is not the truth.
There was one thing that the producers and our agency failed to notice, and that was Lee Seung Gi’s own thoughts on his three year long career as a member of ‘1 Night 2 Days.’
Lee Seung Gi has declared that until he reaches the day when he can no longer appear on broadcast because of his military duties, he would like to remain with his ‘1 Night 2 Days’ brothers, producers, and viewers.
We have realized that Lee Seung Gi’s thoughts and the delivery of those thoughts are of the utmost importance, so we agreed with his position on ‘1 Night 2 Days’ and respect his opinion.
There have been many distorted reports falsifying Lee Seung Gi’s thoughts, and our agency was not able to make an official statement because we ourselves were suspicious over whether we truly knew what Lee Seung Gi wanted and thought. We would like to apologize for this.
We would like to also apologize for worrying and causing the public concern because of these various rumors, and for being unable to properly converge the thoughts of the celebrities under our agency.
Our agency will work harder for Lee Seung Gi’s growth and future, and he, too, will repay the public by working his absolute best as the maknae member of “1 Night 2 Days.”
Thank you to all of the producers and viewers who believed and supported in Lee Seung Gi as a member of ‘1 Night 2 Days’ until the end.”
Regarding his participation in “Strong Heart,” producers of the show revealed, “Lee Seung Gi will be taking part in the scheduled recordings for February 17th and 24th. The recording for the first week of March was rescheduled under his discretion.”
They continued, “There were some rumors about his leave, but he will be taking part as the ‘Strong Heart’ MC until any final decisions are made.”
Representatives of Lee Seung Gi further revealed, “We have not made a 100% final decision on his leave from the show, please wait a bit more.”

8 Februari:
Rumors have been floating around that singer/actor Lee Seung Gi would be leaving his variety programs, ”1 Night 2 Days” and “Strong Heart“, by the end of this month, but producers from both shows have firmly dismissed such notions.
According to reports from entertainment industry representatives, the actor had apparently wanted to focus on his original profession of singing and acting, as well as concentrating on a possible advancement into the Japanese market.
Regarding the rumors, Park Sang Hyuk PD of “Strong Heart” spoke through MyDaily and clarified, “There is absolutely nothing decided regarding Lee Seung Gi’s leave. He’s expecting to take part in a variety of activities this year, so we did discuss a possible re-adjustment to his schedule, but we did not discuss his leave, or a possible leave from the show.”
Director Lee Dong Hee of “1 Night 2 Days” also clarified, “We have never officially discussed Lee Seung Gi’s leave from our show.”
The young star became a breakout player in 2007 through “1 Night 2 Days”, and attracted a large fanbase for his innocent but goofy image on the show as the team’s maknae. As Korea’s representative ‘little brother’, he teamed up with Kang Ho Dong for “Strong Heart” in 2009.
