Korean boy band BIG BANG has just announced that they will be heading on their second Japanese tour!
The group’s new tour is titled, “BIGBANG presents ‘Love & Hope Tour 2011′”April:This week has been dominated by the numerous teasers Big Bang rolled out for their special edition mini-album, and it’s only a small tidbit of the success the boys will achieve in the following weeks and it marks the first time that BIG BANG has toured Japan in nearly two years. Despite having initial doubts about the appropriateness of a Japanese tour because of the recent earthquake, the boys have decided to move on in order to spread “love & hope” throughout Japan.
“Because of the serious situation, we believe it’s more essential than anything to have the hope to keep one’s eye on reconstruction,” they responded when asked about the title of their upcoming tour, which was changed to reflect their feelings towards the disaster-stricken country. The seven-day tour will begin at Oosakajou Hall on May 11th, and end in Nagoya’s Nihon Gaishi Hall.

Korean boy band BIG BANG has just revealed that they will release their second Japanese album in May!
According to the new banner at the top of the group’s official Japanese website, their next album “BIGBANG 2″ will hit stores on May 11th. This will be their second release of 2011 as a group, their first being their Korean comeback mini-album.
Since no other information has been revealed, Japanese VIPs should continue checking their website for more news on this exciting new album.

On April 7th, it was revealed that the members of Big Bang have extended their contracts with their label,YG Entertainment, for another five years!
Representatives from YG revealed, “The Big Bang members, who have been with us for 10 years since their trainee days, are like family members to us. We are thankful that they have put their trust in the label they’ve debuted with once again, but most of all, we are glad that Big Bang will be able to stand before their fans for a longer time.”
They continued, “Discord usually arises between idol groups and their agencies at exactly the five year milestone, when contracts come to an end. This year is Big Bang’s fifth anniversary, and although there’s been rumors about the group, none regarding discord within the group or with the agency have been accurate. They hold strong trust in each other.”

4 April:Big Bang has reported that they’ve spent over $200,000 USD on the production for their upcoming music video, “Love Song.”
Each individual scene was said to have been recorded for the entire duration of the song’s length. Not only that, but YG Entertainment also brought in a ‘4 point wire cam’ that has never once been used in Korea, which allows them to film footage that previously required outside graphic programs.
Other equipment used include aviation shooting, a jimmyjib, a motion control camera, a remote head crane, flying cams, and steady cams, all of which is usually only used for Hollywood films and Olympic relays.
The boys also left the restrictions of a studio by directly heading to the empty fields of an island for their backdrop, and will even be constructing their own two-lane road.

1 April:It was clear early on that Big Bang’s mini-album comeback would swallow up digital music charts whole-heartedly, but the release of the monthly digital charts for Melon, Mnet, Soribada (2nd) and Monkey3 has proven the quintet’s dominance in the industry yet again.
The mini-album saw success with not only its lead track TONIGHT which conquered the charts at the #1 spot, but also with CAFE and What is Right, accumulating to a whopping three tracks from one mini-album on the Top Ten chart. Furthermore, the tracks Hands Up and Somebody to Love also made it to the Top 20 chart, revealing an all-around success as every song of the mini-album (sans intro track) made it to the Top 20 chart.
To follow up their initial album promotions, Big Bang will be coming back strong with a second special edition album this month, with the release of Stupid Liar (스투피드 라이어) and Love Song (러브송) just around the corner. Don’t be surprised if those tracks enjoy similar successful results as well!

After the announcement of plans for a special edition album earlier in the week, the YG-Life blog revealed that on April 1st ‘April Fool’s Day,’ Big Bang would release a 30 second preview for a track titled, ‘Stupid Liar.’
Well, the 30 second preview was just uploaded to Big Bang’s official youtube channel!

Fans are concerned that Big Bang’s “Love and Pain” Japanese tour may put the members in danger. The devastating 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami from March 11th have caused a number of Japanese concerts to be cancelled out of concerns for safety and appropriate conduct.
Observing the string of cancellations, fans wrote to YG expressing their anxieties: “Since there is a danger like this, we should prioritize the safety of the singer before anything else”, “Since the Japanese are facing tragic incidents at the moment, I wonder whether they would still be interested in appreciating the concerts”, “How do you distinguish the dangerous and safe regions in Japan?” and “It is the duty of the entertainment company to discuss with Universal Japan to decide whether to cancel or postpone the tour”, “Other celebrities have also cancelled their concerts there so what is the point of insisting Big Bang’s?”

The YG-Life blog previously teased about the release with an image that read “I HATE THIS LOVE SONG!”, and officials have confirmed that the line is actually a part of the lyrics for “Love Song”!
YG Entertainment revealed, “‘Love Song’ has a bit of a different feel from the songs Big Bang has previously released, so we’re expecting fans to feel something new. ‘Stupid Liar’ was a track that the boys debated over with ‘Tonight‘ as the title track for their 4th mini-album. The song itself features a guitar riff with a rock genre that’s both speedy and powerful. It really brings out their vocals and raps.”
They continued, “As it is the first time the boys are making a special edition album, we’re going all out with the jacket design and the album’s overall packaging. It is disappointing that they will only be promoting for a three week period, but we’ll be working hard to make sure that they greet their fans more frequently.”
Their Korean promotions will thus only last until May 1st due to Big Bang’s Japanese tour, which is scheduled for May through June. Meanwhile, broadcast appearances for Big Bang will be restricted for about two weeks in order to allow the boys to film their music video and rehearse their choreographies.
Due to a lack of time, they will only be filming the music video for “Love Song,” which will be released on April 15th. In addition, Daesung’s solo track, “Baby Don’t Cry,” which was previously shown at the February “Big Show” concert, will also be included in the album.
Their first broadcast will be on April 10th through SBS’s “Inkigayo” where they will meet their fans once again on stage by performing their double title tracks.

25 Maret:Last week, YG Entertainment representatives announced that Big Bang is currently preparing for a new album that’s to be released later on this year. They also added that Big Bang’s upcoming album would include songs from world-renowned producers.The company has just made an announcement that they’ll be releasing a re-packaged album for their beloved VIPs. The industry is buzzing over whether this new release would be the afore-hinted album, but anticipation is running high all the same.
On March 25th, a YG Entertainment representative spoke with Newsen and revealed, “Big Bang is expected to return to fans with four new songs in addition to the songs on their current mini album. As of yet, we have not chosen the title track.”
Since Big Bang’s fourth mini-album consists of six songs - ‘Intro (Thank You & You)’, Tonight, ‘Hands Up’, ‘Somebody to Love’, ‘Cafe’, and ‘What is Right’ -, their 4.5 album will feature 10 tracks in total.

On March 17th, representatives of YG Entertainment spoke through Star News and revealed, “Big Bang will be promoting in Korea a lot this year, and are currently preparing for a new album that will surprise fans.”
According to YGE, Big Bang plans to head straight back into the recording studio once they wrap up their “Tonight” promotions and their upcoming Japanese tour. It’s also being reported that the boys will work hand-in-hand with huge international producers.
The representatives continued, “Any music fan will be able to recognize who these producers are just by the mention of their names. They’re well-known figures in the U.S. and Europe, and we’ve been in contact with them for a while now. After we finalize the list of producers Big Bang will be working with, they’ll be going straight into their album production.”
Yang Hyun Suk added, “We’re currently in contact with about 10 producers known worldwide in order to produce their next album. Their labelmates, 2NE1, previously worked with Will.I.Am, and Big Bang will be doing just that with another famous European producer. Because Big Bang has their own producer within the group - G-Dragon - the album will be a type of collaboration between the international producers and G-Dragon.”
16 Maret: On February 26th, cable channel Mnet started a new live music program titled “M SoundPlex” and through a series of tweets via twitter, it’s been revealed that Big Bang will hold a mini concert for the show on March 19th.
The show is unique in that it has a 360 degree stage that allows the audience to personally record performances, as well as the opportunity to ask questions for guests on the show. The show is said to be both modern and fun.
Around 200 people are scheduled to attend the live recording.

8 Maret: In a recent interview with DongA News, the members of Big Bang revealed the traits of their ideal women. Although each of them looked for different things, they all agreed that they were looking for a woman who understood them.
Daesung revealed, “I want a woman who likes me and is understanding of my career. I’d like to be able to lean on her for support, and whether she’s older or younger than me, I’d like for her to be able to console me and give me strength when we’re together.” When asked to choose a physical trait, he replied, “A woman that looks beautiful when she smiles.”
Taeyang stated, “Someone who is on the same page as me. She needs to be understanding of me and the way I live my life, as well as be wise so I can learn from her. I’d like for her to stimulate me in a way that makes me want to work even harder. Ever since I was little, I’ve liked women with Western features.”
G-Dragon expressed, “It’s important that I feel comfortable around her. In the past, I used to have a detailed vision of what my ideal woman would be like; for example, ’someone with short hair and a tomboyish style’. But these days, it’s just someone who I’m comfortable with and doesn’t act fake around me.”
T.O.P revealed that he did not have a specific ideal woman, just as long as she can “match herself to him.” He elaborated, “I’d like someone realistic who can direct me to good paths; someone who I can learn from. She needs to be mannerly and respectful towards the adults.” T.O.P added that he would like to marry late as well.
Seungri concluded, “A woman with a cute phone voice and a lot of aegyo. I honestly do look a lot at physical appearance.” When asked to choose a specific girl group member that was the closest to his ideal woman, he chose After School’s UEE. ”I didn’t really notice in the past, but working with her on broadcast programs made me realize how beautiful she is. The boys of Big Bang have dominated the charts in Korea, posting an all-kill on the online charts and raking in 7 billion won in sales (approximately $6.2 million USD) in just seven days since their mini-album release. Now, the boys are doing big things abroad as they’ve appeared on the Billboard charts!

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, SBS’s hour-long special ’The Big Bang Show” achieved a 5.7% rating when it aired on February 27th. It’s actually a high figure, considering that its airtime was after midnight. In comparison, ‘Kim Jung Eun’s Chocolate’, which originally airs in that time block, only achieved 3.3% last week.
The boys excited their viewers by performing their original hits, as well as tracks from their fourth mini-album. After kicking off their set with the lively “Hands Up“, Big Bang moved on to “Somebody to Love“, “Cafe“, “What is Right“, and “Tonight“; they also performed “Lie“, “Sunset Glow” and “Last Farewell“.
In addition to the performances, the group also took part in a hilarious parody of SBS’s hit drama, “Secret Garden“. Viewers saw G-Dragon take on the role of ‘Gil Ra Im’ (originally played by Ha Ji Won), while T.O.P played as Hyun Bin’s ‘Kim Ju Won’.
As the cherry on top, the boys also unveiled the music video for their title track, “Tonight“. Last evening was definitely Big Bang’s night as the five member power group made their comeback in the biggest of ways – with an hour-long comeback episode on SBS and a concert with 14,000 fans, there was no question that Big Bang is back and better than ever.
Aside from seeing the members making their live stage comeback, one of the most highly anticipated features for the ‘2011 Big Show’ was the unveiling of the music video for Big Bang’s title track, TONIGHT.
As earlier revealed, the music video was filmed in Las Vegas; although it doesn’t feature the song’s choreography, the backdrops and unique atmosphere of this MV more than make up for it.

On February 25th, the ‘Big Bang Concert Big Show 2011‘ was held in Seoul Olympic Gymnasium, showcasing Big Bang’s upgraded talents and vocals in their passionate performances.
They performed the songs from their new mini album, ‘Tonight‘, including ‘What is Right‘, ‘Cafe‘, and ‘Somebody To Love‘, as well as their past hits such as ‘Haru Haru‘, ‘Lies‘, and ‘Last Farewell‘. G-Dragon started off their ‘Tonight’ performance by strumming chords on a guitar, surprising the unsuspecting crowd.
The other members also performed their solo songs, with Seungri performing ‘VVIP’ and ‘How Come‘. Daesung revealed his new unreleased song, ‘Baby Don’t Cry’, delighting the crowd with his sweet vocals. While GD & TOP were performing ‘Knockout‘, a military tank was placed on the stage, making the performance even more memorable. 2NE1’s Park Bom also made a guest appearance during their performance of ‘Oh Yeah‘.During the concert, the members made sudden random appearances in the crowd, sending the 14,000 fans into a frenzy.
In addition, the members parodied the popular drama ‘Secret Garden‘, renaming it to ‘Secret Big Bang‘. Seungri starred as Seung-ska, TOP as Kim Joo Top, GD as G-Raim, and Daesung as Secretary Kang and the mother, Kang Bunhong.
GD stated, “We came back after 2 years and 3 months, it’s been a long two years. We’re so happy we finally get to show you our charms on stage. Because we made you wait for so long, we’ll work that much harder. We increased our strength a lot because of you. You should be pumped up!“.
Daesung jokingly added, “The reason why we made all the fans wait for 2 years and 3 months is because we’re going to perform nonstop for 2 years and 3 months“. TOP said, “Our CEO even said, ‘I haven’t seen you guys work this hard in a long time’ to us when we were preparing for our album“.
The encore stage also didn’t disappoint the fans. Before the stage started, the members made a quick appearance by responding to the fans’ “I love you” chant.

The first recording was held on February 18th amidst 500 fans, and centered around performances of their past hit tracks. The second recording, which was held on the 23rd and was closed off to the public, unveiled performances of their new tracks, “Tonight,” “What Is Right,” “Cafe,” and “Somebody to Love.”
For each stage, the boys not only displayed their perfect manners, but they also showed off a variety of different concept outfits which emphasized the group’s growth.
The program will also include footage of their “Secret Garden” parody, which was originally an exclusive feature for their three-day “Big Show” concert later on this week.

The explosion caused by Big Bang’s comeback is just getting bigger. Not only have they shattered records for their mini-album pre-orders, they’ve also achieved an ‘all-kill’ on the top real-time charts in Korea (Soribada, Melon, Dosirak, Bugs and Cyworld). Now, the boys are storming up the charts in America as they’re currently positioned at #12 on the itunes album chart (#6 on the Pop album chart)! Very impressive and this shows that they have a strong fan base overseas.
In addition, the YG-Life official blog has recently added a new entry stating that the MV for “Tonight” will premiere at the “2011 Big Show” concert, which will be held from February 25th to the 27th. It will also air during the SBS Comeback special on February 27th, so we should expect the official MV to go online around that time as well.

Big Bang’s comeback has been nothing short of phenomenal.
First, there was an international manhunt amongst VIPs to find the location of the group - turns out they were in the States filming an MV. Then, the announcement of the album release date and their promotion schedule threw the rest of the industry in a tizzy, as management companies reshuffled dates to prevent their artists from getting overshadowed. Then, the five receive an hour-long comeback special on SBS, an honor which only had previously only belonged to the legendary Seo Taiji. Finally, YG Entertainment pulled out all the stops, splurging a couple hundred million won alone in just the advertising and promotions for the album.
The result? Big Bang shattered records for their mini-album pre-orders, and now they’ve achieved an ‘all-kill’ on the top real-time charts in Korea (Soribada, Melon, Dosirak, Bugs and Cyworld). If that weren’t enough, the ‘YG-Life’ blog has seen a literal explosion in site traffic, with a 30-fold increase over the past week or so.

I haven’t had a chance to thoroughly listen to the tracks but from what I’ve heard thus far, it sounds amazing. YG Entertainment has cranked the anticipation dial to ‘maximum hype’ with their latest (and last!) teaser for Big Bang’s comeback.

The hour-long comeback special will feature every track from their fourth mini-album, as well as past hits and other fun footage for fans to enjoy. In order to heighten the quality of the program’s material, the boys decided to tackle it in two separate recordings.
Part one was filmed at the SBS hall last week, and the boys performed “Lies” and “Red Sunset” to the cheers of 500 fans. Big Bang also shared some stories about their production process, including bits about their time in the States, G-Dragon’s production style, Daesung falling asleep while acting, and the tension they feel as their comeback date nears.
Their second recording will be held on February 23rd and will focus on their new tracks; this time, only the production team will be allowed inside.

On February 22nd, a representative of YG Entertainment revealed through Money Today Star News that the February 22nd broadcast of SBS’s Strong Heart will reveal a snippet of their first track, “Intro.”
Well, it seems fans received a little bit more than what was initially let on as the snippet contained some video footage of Big Bang in Las Vegas, leaving many fans to wonder if this is also a preview of one of their upcoming MV’s.

With Big Bang’s two year comeback drawing closer, it was recently reported that Big Bang set a new record in the most number of album pre-sales purchased, overtaking TVXQ’s 2008 record.
For the past week, music site Cyworld has been holding an online event whereby members can pre-purchase Big Bang’s new mini-album for 30 “acorns” (the site’s currency), which is to be released on February 24th.
The online site revealed that their event has sold about 10,000 albums in pre-sales in just six days, which is roughly double the record of Seo Taiji’s 5,084 pre-sale units back in 2008, as well as TVXQ’s 6,500 units during their 4th full album release in the same year.

One of Big Bang’s tracks from their fourth mini-album will be revealed for the first time during the upcoming broadcast of SBS’s “Strong Heart“.
On February 22nd, a representative of YG Entertainment revealed through Money Today Star News, “On tonight’s broadcast of SBS’s ‘Strong Heart’, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Seungri will make their guest appearance. During the show’s ending, a part of Big Bang’s new song will be revealed for the first time.”
According to the representative, the song to be revealed will be their first track, “Intro“. As Big Bang is known to put considerable effort into their intro tracks, fans are highly-anticipative of what their latest intro would sound like.
Meanwhile, Big Bang will release their long-awaited comeback album on the 24th, which has a total of six tracks. This will be their first collective comeback effort in two years and three months. In addition, Big Bang will hold their “Big Show” concert from the 25th to the 27th to officially greet their fans.

Earlier reports of SBS holding an extravagant one-hour comeback special for Big Bang left many wondering about how the group’s special relationship with SBS would impact their promotions on the other two public broadcast networks, MBC and KBS.
On February 21st, Kim Sang Ho PD of KBS’s “Music Bank” addressed these concerns through Newsen: “We haven’t discussed anything regarding Big Bang’s comeback stage yet. ‘Music Bank’ cannot provide something as extravagant like SBS, but if Big Bang is willing to perform fairly with the other artists, we can provide a stage for them.”
The ‘fairness’ that KBS mentioned was explained to mean that they would be given the standard two-track comeback stage of their contemporaries; the group must be willing to accept that KBS’s stage won’t be as extravagant as the one that SBS is planning.

The two concept photos feature Big Bang’s five members decked in monochrome articles of clothing with a matching pattern, with a splash of red on the members’ shoes. This theme is a little reminiscent of Big Bang’s old days, taking a step away from the super colorful outfits fans are used to seeing Big Bang sport in recent years.

According to information revealed by YG Entertainment on February 17th, Big Bang recorded a parody of “Secret Garden” on the 15th and 16th as a special treat for their fans attending their upcoming “2011 Big Show” concert.
T.O.P took on the role of ‘Kim Juwon,’ while G-Dragon played ‘Gil Ra-Im.’ Seungri played ‘Oscar,’ Daesung played Juwon’s mother, and Taeyang played ‘Director Im Jong Su.’
In a picture taken exclusively by Star News, Daesung and G-Dragon are pictured dressed up as their respective roles. YG officials further revealed, “T.O.P perfectly brought together Juwon’s image, complete with the training suit and hair style. Seungri, who’s been imitating Yoon Sang Hyun’s voice for a while, transformed into Hallyu star ‘Oscar,’ while Taeyang showed off a dramatic new hairstyle through his role as the director.”
Big Bang was also given special permission to record on the set of Juwon’s real home in “Secret Garden” in order to perfect their parody.
The video will be unveiled through their “Big Show” concert scheduled for February 25th through the 27th. ”Despite the recording taking two days, the Big Bang members couldn’t stop laughing over their transformations and were not tired at all. The members will be re-creating the famous ‘foam kiss’ scene, so please look forward to it.”

Debunking rumors about Big Bang making a comeback with a whopping six title tracks, YG Entertainment has asserted that the group will be promoting only one title track for their upcoming mini-album.
With eight days remaining until their great comeback, a representative of YG Entertainment confirmed on February 16th, “Big Bang’s album will only contain one title track.”
They continued, “Recently, YG artists have been coming out with more than two title tracks to allow their fans to listen to more songs. In Big Bang’s case however, though the album will be their first in two years, the group will be focusing on just one song in order to make it a big hit, just like their past songs “Lies” and “Haru Haru“.
The K-pop industry has been seeing many artists emerge from the studio with more than one title track for their albums. Considering how 2NE1 and GD&TOP kicked off their promotions with at least three songs each, many began to wonder whether YG Entertainment would carry on their trend forBig Bang’s highly-anticipated comeback.
YGE stated, “We’ve decided for Big Bang to carry on with just one title track, but we can’t yet reveal any concrete information about their title track yet.”

After confirming their official comeback plans yesterday, Big Bang will now be meeting with their fans through an hour-long SBS special called “Big Bang Comeback Show” on February 27th!
This is the first time a singer has being given a full hour to promote their comeback on a public broadcast network since the legendary Seo Taiji.
Given the rarity of such an opportunity, it seems that SBS deemed Big Bang as worthy of the time because of the history they’ve built up both in Korea and overseas.
SBS representatives have put a gag order on the directors in order to keep Big Bang’s newest songs under wraps until the special airs.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that with the exception of the intro track, the other 6 from their mini album will be promoted as title tracks at one shot.

When rumors were confirmed regarding Big Bang’s comeback with a full album being compressed to a mini-album, many fans were disappointed and confused by the sudden change. Big Bang’s unit group GD&TOP will release their very own DVD + photobook in both Korea and Japan.
Comprised of behind-the-scenes pictures from both their album preparations and promotions, the photobook – titled “PLAY WITH GD&TOP DVD + Photobook” – is scheduled to hit stores in both Korea and Japan for March 3rd. SBS’s Contents Hub revealed that they kicked off the waiting list for the photobookon February 11th.
The DVD + photobook is becoming a hot product for fans all over the world, as it holds exclusive content that many would have not have seen before.
Composed of 2 DVDs, DISC 1 will contain footage from GD&TOP’s “World Premiere“, as well as BTS videos from the event. It also has the music videos for “High High“, “Knock Out“, “Don’t Go Home“, and “Baby Good Night“.
DISC 2 will show the hard times that GD&TOP went through in order to prepare the album; as well, BTS footage will also be included from their first broadcasts on SBS’s “Inkigayo” and “Gayo Daejun“. Fans can expect to see other never-before-seen videos through the DVD, such as choreography practices, performance rehearsals, and miscellaneous videos from the duo’s daily lives.
Meanwhile, the photobook will be 80 pages long, and is sure to be a visual treat for their fans.
A representative from SBS’s Contents Hub said, “As soon as the waitling list for the GD&TOP DVD + Photobook opened up, calls and questions began flooding in. Fans are really anticipating the release of this photobook“.

Big Bang’s album is scheduled to drop in a couple of weeks, but the group is already kicking into high gear for their long awaited comeback.
They’re currently in the United States, and plan to stay a week to film their MV, after which they’ll be returning to Korea to perform at Seoul Olympic Park Stadium from February 25th to 27th. The total cost of the MV wasn’t given, but sources say that it’ll cost the company a hefty sum of money.
Why is the MV being filmed in the United States? The group apparently wants a “foreign influence” to their video.

The boys of Big Bang will resume their activities in Japan this April, which will include a new single, a concert tour, and a collaboration with Japanese fashion brand UNIQLO. The collaboration between the two will involve tour goods for their upcoming concerts.
