Earlier this week, INFINITE‘s Woohyun revealed the story behind their old dorm, and shared some details about their new place on SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart’. On September 30th, additional info was released by the members during an interview backstage at ‘Music Bank’.
After achieving their 1st win, the members were finally granted a new dorm by the CEO of Woollim Entertainment. The boys made their move on Sunday, September 25th to Joosang Bok Hap Apartments. When asked about their new dorm, the members didn’t hesitate in sharing their feelings.
According to the members, the new spacious dorm consists of 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. The roommate assignments are Sunggyu and Woohyun, and Hoya and Sungjong. While those four get the smaller rooms, Dongwoo, Sungyeol, and L, have to share the big room with their manager.
Woohyun expressed, “Everything has gotten better. The old dorm is on the level of a haunted house if you compared it to the new one. The walls are soundproof so we can listen to all the music we want and practice.” Sungyeol revealed, “To preserve the cleanliness of our room, we decided to throw away everything [that was] on the floor.” Dongwoo added, “We didn’t have a closet in our old dorm, but here we have a built-in closet, so it’s easy to organize.”
“We’ll think of this as a fresh start and work hard,” said L.
Although it’s almost been a week since they moved in, the members confessed that they still haven’t been able to unpack everything. With their jam-packed schedule, they’ve been unpacking little by little each day. Hoya explained, “It has now started to take the form of a home, but there is still a lot to organize.”
Hilariously, a few of the members passionately declared that they would never go back to their old dorm. Sungjong expressed, “Whenever we leave our house now, we can see the old dorm [along the way]. I pledged never to go back there again.” Sunggyu said, “Even though we lived in our old dorm for 3 years, I have no lingering affections for that place. I have zero attachment to it. I never want to go back. Also, even though we were able to move dorms, there are still a lot of other things we have to change, such as our car. We still have a long way to go.”
INFINITE is currently in the midst of promoting their 1st repackaged album. With their title track,“Paradise”, they’ve been sweeping both the digital and physical album sales charts, as well as becoming the #1 searched term on various portal sites and reaching #1 on Olleh Music‘s ‘Social Chart‘.

On September 26th, INFINITE’s 1st repackaged album was released with 10 tracks from the original 1st official album and 3 new tracks – bringing up the total to 13 exciting songs that are sure to capture the hearts of music fans. With the release of the album, “Paradise” reached 2nd on Mnet, 1st on Olleh Music, 2nd on Soribada, 1st on Cyworld, and 2nd on Bugs Music.
“Paradise” is the work of the famous producer duo team, Sweetune (Han Jae Ho and Kim Seung Soo), they’ve created yet another addictive song for INFINITE.
“Paradise” removes an excessive use of synthesizer, while incorporating the use of guitar and base, and the supporting harmony of the strings produce a grand, yet edgy melody that has already gained much interest.
In addition, in “Cover Girl”, INFINITE’s characteristic robust and bright personalities can be felt through the refreshing pop song. Member Sungyeol showcases his rapping skills for the first time, and joins in on the Hoya and Dongwoo rapper line. The harmony of Sungyeol and Dongwoo’s rap make up the sentimental points of the song.
With their 1st win on a music program after a year since their debut, with their 1st official album, and record breaking sales for their sold out Japan concerts – INFINITE has definitely proved themselves worthy of their ‘trend-idols’ nickname. With “Paradise”, they will continue their popularity to reach their peak.

Last week, INFINITE grabbed their very first #1 win through Mnet‘s ‘M! Countdown‘, and were finally allowed to move into a new dorm!
A source close to INFINITE revealed to OSEN that “The current dorm has already been put up on the market. The new dorm that they’ll move into is a new apartment. I found it was quite nice when I went to check it out.” The source also revealed that the members were incredibly excited over this long-awaited move, and couldn’t hold back their glee.
After securing 1st place two weeks in a row on ‘M! Countdown’, INFINITE experienced a boost in star power and have been labeled as the new idol group to be watched. They’ve been receiving an unceasing flow of requests to appear on music shows, as well as various broadcast programs.
INFINITE’s old dorm is famous amongst fans as an old two-story house located in Manwondong. Described to be an old and shabby place, the boys have been calling it ‘home’ since their trainee days. The members even had to share one bathroom between them.
The group had previously revealed, “If the members are talking inside the house, all the fans outside can hear what they’re talking about as well.”
INFINITE’s management, Woollim Entertainment, had promised the members a new dorm if they were able to secure a 1st place win on a music program, which added fuel to their burning desire to succeed.
Congratulations, boys!
4 September:
After working tirelessly to attain their place in the sun, INFINITE finally secured their first music program win on September 1st through Mnet‘s ‘M! Countdown‘. Experiencing a sudden surge of interest, the group decided that now was the right time to announce their plans of officially expanding into Japan.
INFINITE’s management told Star News on the 4th, “Even though promotions have not yet begun, the current reaction in Japan is positive,” and expressed their confidence by stating,“In the later half of this year with promotions going on in both Korea and Japan, INFINITE will be able to establish a color unique to them.”
INFINITE have already started to segue into Japan thanks to member L, who participated in the popular Japanese drama, ‘Jiu’. The drama has been recording high viewer ratings as well as extensive media coverage from Japan — the achievement is all the more noteworthy because the drama airs during the late Friday night time slot.
INFINITE plans to reveal the Japanese version of “BTD” this coming November, and are determined to secure their place as the next generation of Hallyu stars.
The positive atmosphere that surrounds the group at the moment seems to bode well for the good things awaiting them. The members shared their thoughts about their emotional 1st win while shedding tears.
Leader Sung Gyu was overcome with emotion stating, “Being more tense than I had ever been in my whole life, I couldn’t think”.
Woo Hyun commented, “I couldn’t believe that this moment was the first 1st place of my life. I had blanked out to the point that I didn’t even realize tears were coming out of my eyes”. Sung Jong added,“I wasn’t sure whether it was reality or a dream. All the difficult times from the past scanned through my head. This win had a especially big meaning being that it was our 1st win with our 1st album after 1 year of debut. I’m thankful to the fans”.
The song that won them the award, “Be Mine“, is an intense synth-pop dance song produced bySweetune (made up of Han Jae Ho and Kim Seung Soo), the brains behind KARA’s hit songs.
Stay tuned to allkpop for more updates on INFINITE’s upcoming Japanese advancement!

After scoring their very first win yesterday on Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown‘, INFINITE tweeted some heartwarming messages to their fanclub, Inspirit.
Member Sung Yeol gushed, “To our INFINITE Inspirits, I love you. President of Woollim, I love you. To our parents who gave birth to the 7 of us, I love you. Sweetune family, I love you. To all the staff, I love you.”

Hoya chimed in with a short, but sweet message, “Inspirits, thank you”.
In addition to expressing his gratitude towards their choreographer, stylist, and vocal instructor, LeaderSung Gyu added, “Inspirits, you know even if I don’t say it, right? I love you, my people,” saying what he was not able to say on stage.
Although they made their debut with “Come Back” last June, and followed up with hits like “She’s Back,” “BTD,” and “Nothing’s Over,” INFINITE hasn’t scored a single #1 win on music programs. Both their personal fans and K-Pop enthusiasts have watched over their growth, and recognized that these boys possessed a talent that unfortunately got swept under the rug every time.
Thanks to their persistence, however, INFINITE was finally able to clinch 1st place on a music program, just one year after their debut.
18 August:
On August 17th, INFINITE finally held their official fanclub inauguration for ‘Inspirits‘ at the Dom Art Hall in Neungdong Children’s Park!
The boys not only performed their hit tracks, but they also engaged in honest talk sessions with their fans.
Leader Sunggyu began by saying, “We’re all so moved to have an official fanclub just a year into our debut. We’ll be promoting in Japan in October, so we hope to win #1 on a music program before then. It was because of all of our fans that we were able to grow and improve this much. We’re all so proud to have such a strong support base, so please keep looking forward to our growth.”
Hosted by MC Park Kyung Lim, the boys also sat down for a round of questions. When asked about their ideal types, member L replied with a shy smile, “I actually have an ideal type in one of the girl groups currently promoting today. A hint is that she’s in a five member girl group. They also won #1.”
Once fans began to show their discontent with his answer, so he quickly added, “But of course, my love is all of my fans.”
INFINITE went on to perform “Be Mine“, “Before the Dawn“, “Come Back“, girl group parodies, and individual stages consisting of raps and ballads. Since it’s their first ever fanclub event, the boys touched their fans by continually thanking them for their support.
14 August:
It’s been a year since their debut, and idol group INFINITE will finally be holding a special inauguration ceremony for their official fanclub, ‘Inspirits‘, at the Dom Art Hall in Children’s Park. Tickets for the event were reportedly sold out in just one minute after going on sale!
Woollim Entertainment revealed, “There were over 2,000 seats available for the event, all of which had sold out just one minute after ticket sales opened. We are currently receiving many requests for additional tickets from fans who weren’t able to catch them the first time. We are very thankful for the interest.”
At the ceremony, the boys will be performing their hit tracks as well as special individual stages prepared beforehand. The ceremony will take place on August 17th.
11 August:

Idol group INFINITE, who recently began their promotion cycle for “Be Mine“, revealed that their ideal type for a female best friend would be none other than f(x)’s Krystal.
On August 9th, INFINITE guested on “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time” radio for its summer special corner called, ‘I Need a Best Friend‘. During a segment where the INFINITE members talked about their friendship index, Choi Hwa Jung asked, “If you were to choose between 4minute’s HyunA and f(x)’s Krystal, which one?” Surprisingly, five out of the seven members chose Krystal.
When asked for a reason, the five members replied, “We like HyunA too, but Krystal’s stage manners are good.” On the other hand, Sung Jong, who picked HyunA, danced to “Bubble Pop!” right on the spot and caused everyone in the studio to laugh.
Additionally, INFINITE received an overwhelming turnout during their fans’ support message corner, and member Nam Woo Hyun revealed his abs through the visible radio camera.
1 August:
After sweeping the daily music charts with their official comeback album, ‘Over the Top‘, INFINITE is proving to be a formidable force in this month’s rush of comebacks, as they’ve also topped Hanteo’s weekly album sales!
The boys had experienced much difficulty during the printing process of their album, as well as had their teaser leaked, so clearing out 20,000 sales immediately after its release is all that more meaningful.
The album is still going strong, as it has a history of ranking first on online portal sites, live sales charts, and now to add to the list, weekly charts. Woollim Entertainment said, “This first album is the product of INFINITE’s sweats and efforts. We’re glad that their hard work has been properly delivered to their fans. 6 Maret:
Having completed their “Before the Dawn” promotions, INFINITE is now looking forward to their Japanese debut next month, and they plan on using a unique Japanese promotional system that other Korean artists haven’t made use of yet.
Although they’ve yet to officially debut, the group is already garnering favorable signs of success, as their singles “TO-RA-WA” and “She’s Back” ranked first on music.jp’s ringtone charts.
On March 6th, representatives of Woollim Entertainment spoke with Star News and revealed, “They haven’t begun promotions yet, but interest from both Japanese music representatives and fans remains high. One major record store chain has a separate corner made specifically for INFINITE.”
Since their official Japanese album has yet to be released, the group is utilizing Japan’s CD rental system to promote their music. CD rentals are a widespread promotional tactic used by Japanese artists, but INFINITE is the first Korean artist to make use of it. The group aims to spread awareness about their music to both fans and music aficionados alike, particularly since they’ll also be holding their debut Japanese showcase next month.
Woollim continued, “Their modern, pop-style music must’ve worked with the Japanese fans. We decided that we would rather they judge INFINITE through their music [as opposed to other qualities], so we prioritized a rental promotion before their official album release.”
With the Japanese releases of “BTD” and “Hysterie“, INFINITE will be promoting through various showcases and music programs starting April 2nd.

In an industry flooded with idol groups, it’s become increasingly difficult to remember which member belongs where unless one is a fan of that specific group. INFINITE has done remarkably well for a rookie group so far, but their comeback still needs that extra push to catapult them into superstardom.
Considering the overall level of perfection found in their comeback track, “Before the Dawn“, one would assume that the song would do better on the charts. In an interview with TV Daily, the reporter joked to INFINITE that “the song would have won #1 on music programs if it was performed by another popular artist.”
INFINITE coolly replied, “We talk about that a lot too. It’s been six months since our debut, and our comeback album’s been released now for a little over a month. Winning #1 is something our CEO must worry over (laughter). All we have to do is focus on the stage. We’ve certainly grown a lot in our mentality, and even matured from boys into men. There’s still some disappointment left, but whenever we feel that, we try to go back to how we felt when we first debuted.”
The boys mentioned in a previous interview that they would be able to move into a larger dorm if they got into the ‘Top 10′ on a music program. Unfortunately, they’re still short of that goal. However, it didn’t hinder them from being able to enjoy the smaller victories. The boys revealed, “One time, we went up three ranks and started screaming in the waiting room out of pure joy once we found out.”
It’s unusual for rookie groups to carry personal cell phones, but the INFINITE members all own one. They explained, “Each of the members have a different style. It’s harder to control us without cell phones. We once got them taken away for three days, but they eventually gave them back.”
In order to give them that extra push in public recognition, the members were asked to describe a personal charm about themselves.
Leader Sungkyu is known as ‘Honey Sungkyu’, a nickname bestowed upon him by his fans to describe his honey-sweet voice. Woohyun is ‘bolmae‘, a Korean slang term that usually means ‘a person who is more charming by the day‘. In Woohyun’s case, however, the meaning was changed to ‘a person you want to hit more and more by the day‘. Woohyun explained, “You have to see me at least four times to really get a feel of who I am.”
Dongwoo is ‘Smile Man’ for his wide smile, which may be surprising for some since he’s known for his cold, expressionless features. All that changes when he grins, and he’s said to look quite innocent and sincere. Hoya, who’s known as the powerful rapper of the group, is ‘all man,’ meaning he looks like a man through and through.
Sungyeol nicknamed himself as ‘elementary boy’, as the members confirmed, “He talks and acts like a little kid.”
L is known as the quiet one, but but melts fans whenever he smiles with his eyes, which earned him the nickname ‘cold city man.’ Maknae Sungjong is unmistakably known as ’beautiful man.’ But being beautiful doesn’t mean that he’s shallow; the members joked that he was kind-hearted enough to make friends with even ghosts.
The boys of INFINITE concluded, “The charm of INFINITE is that each of the seven members have their own clear and unique tastes. But we’re also like a combined set of presents. If you fall for one member, we’re sure you’ll fall for the rest of us. It’d be so nice if fans fought over who they liked more (laughter). If we continue to think preciously of our fans and work hard to improve ourselves, maybe someday people will remember us.”
