In the midst of numerous year-end events and programs, one that, perhaps, shines the brightest is the ’2011 SBS Gayo Daejun’.
The Hallyu-themed show has brought out a star-studded line-up of many of the biggest names and the most anticipated rookies in K-Pop including TVXQ, 2PM, Super Junior, 2NE1, Girls’ Generation, Wonder Girls, KARA, B2ST, CNBLUE, F.T. Island, Brown Eyed Girls, T-ara, miss A, f(x), Lee Seung Gi, IU, Kim Hyun Joong, After School, MBLAQ, INFINITE, Dal Shabet, Boyfriend, A Pink, B1A4, SECRET, 4minute, G.NA, SISTAR, Davichi, K.Will, TEEN TOP, Rainbow, U-Kiss, SHINee’s Taemin & Jonghyun, Zelo & Bang Yong Guk, EXO, and Pledis Boys. The end-of-year festivals are much-anticipated particulary for the many joint stages. SBS kicks things off in grand style.
Descending onto the stage in a fabulous diamond-shaped object the ladies of Girls’ Generationprovided a sneak peak of things to come with a short routine to Daft Punk’s “Technologic”. They were then joined by Super Junior, who performed well despite their prerecording issues. The pair of superstar idol groups really got the crowd going in their ‘Moves Like Mick Jagger’ Stage.
After performances from K.Will (including a duet with Girls’ Generation’s TIffany), December,Jun.K/Davichi joint stage, it was the popular rookies’ turn to impress.
Usually end of the year shows focus on senior established artists, in addition to performing shortened versions of their hits, B1A4 and Dal Shabet danced a ‘Hollywood Stage’ and A-Pink and Boyfriendhad a ‘Cupid Stage’.

The end-of-year festivals are much-anticipated particulary for the many joint stages. SBS kicks things off in grand style with their now legendary annual music festival, ‘Gayo Daejun‘. With awesome Girls’ Generation/Super Junior, Davichi, and rookie joint stages.
Then, it was time for girls to “Run the World” as G.NA, Brown Eyed Girl’s Ga-in, HyunA, SISTAR’s Hyorin, T-ARA’s Jiyeon, miss A’s Fei, and SECRET’s Sunhwa took fierceness to a whole new level in their performance of Beyonce’s massive hit.
Once the ladies finished their joint and individual stages, it was the fellas turn to perform. Much to the delight of A+s and Inspirits, MBLAQ & INFINITE came together for a powerful and sexy dance battle, heating up the atmosphere with a masculine scarf dance.

Kim Hyun Joong‘s provocative performance with the girls of After School is causing quite the stir among netizens.
Singer Kim Hyun Joong put on a special performance at the 2011 SBS Gayo Daejun that took place at the KINTEX in Ilsan on December 29th.
Everyone held their breath as Kim Hyun Joong caressed After School leader Kahi‘s long legs and pulled her in for what seemed would be a kiss.
He then immediately turned to his right and wrapped his arms around Nana‘s waist and leaned his face in towards hers, which drove the fans wild.
The event was hosted by Lee Seung Gi, Song Ji Hyo, along with Girls’ Generation member Yoona, and artists such as B2ST, 2PM, Wonder Girls, KARA, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, and more put on various never-before seen performances.
Audience members could not look away for even a moment, as the 2011 SBS Gayo Dajun was chock-full of performances including ballad stages, a sexy performance of the top idol divas, and a fierce dance battle between the idol boys.
2PM‘s Taecyeon, Leessang‘s Gary, B2ST‘s Yong Jun Hyung, MBLAQ‘s Mir, INFINITE‘s Hoya,Dynamic Duo, and Yoon Mirae put on a phenomenal hip hop performance at the SBS Gayo Daejunthat took place on the 29th.
Taecyeon, Jun Hyung, Mir, and Hoya opened up the performance with Dynamic Duo’s “Chulchek” and “Hip Hop Party“. Gary, Dynamic Duo, and Yoon Mirae went on to further excite the crowd with their own rap performances.
Their fellow colleagues watching them got up off their seats to dance and enjoy the show, bringing up the atmosphere another notch. At the end of her performance, Yoon Mirae hilariously exclaimed “roll roll (‘lol, lol’)“, Leessang member Gary’s new signature line.
Also performing at the Gayo Daejun on the same day were Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior,IU, f(x), 2NE1, Wonder Girls, 2PM, KARA, T-ARA, SISTAR, Secret, and more.

27 December:
On December 27th, a representative of SBS shared that the three entertainers will be hosting the music ceremony on December 29th at 8:50 p.m. KST. The ceremony will be broadcasted live for viewers to watch. This is also YoonA’s second hosting for year-end ceremonies in 2011, as she previously led the KBS ‘Entertainment Awards‘ back on the 24th.
Furthermore, top artists such as B2ST, 2NE1, 2PM, Wonder Girls, KARA, Super Junior, SNSD, andTVXQ will also be participating in the ceremony, showcasing a never-before-seen joint performance.
But that’s not all — SBS has also organized a dance battle between boy groups, ballad performances, and a sexy performance by several divas.

22 December:
SBS will be holding their ‘2011 Gayo Daejun‘ on the night of December 29th live at 8:50 p.m. KST!
Representatives of SBS revealed, “We’re preparing stages centered around the theme of Hallyu. Like our previous festivals, singers will be holding joint stages together. The details aren’t hashed out yet, nor are the MCs confirmed.”
Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul and CNBLUE‘s Jung Yonghwa hosted the event for two consecutive years, but as one is currently on army duty and the other is busy with other schedules, SBS has been forced to search for replacements.
As such, Yonghwa will only be performing with CNBLUE for the event. His representative explained,“CNBLUE will be beginning their Asia tour next month so their schedule is booked.”
As of now, the line-up for the ’2011 Gayo Daejun’ includes TVXQ, 2PM, Super Junior, 2NE1, SNSD, Wonder Girls, KARA, B2ST, CNBLUE, F.T. Island, Brown Eyed Girls, T-ara, miss A, f(x), Lee Seung Gi, IU, Kim Hyun Joong, After School, MBLAQ, INFINITE, Dal Shabet, Boyfriend, A Pink, B1A4, SECRET, 4minute, G.NA, SISTAR, Davichi, K.Will, TEEN TOP, Rainbow, and U-KISS.(The list may be changed)
19 December:
On December 17th, producers revealed that the audition show stars will be performing thrilling stages. Baek Chung Gang will get his own solo stage while Kwon Ri Sae and David Oh will perform as a duo.
Considering that Kwon Ri Sae and David Oh were also a ‘We Got Married‘ couple, fans are looking forward to seeing them back together on stage.
The awards festival is certainly proving to be a festival of the couples, as it was previously revealed thatfour couples of ‘We Got Married’ would be co-hosting the event as well.
