SBS‘s “Inkigayo” is back once again, and this week’s show was full of amazing and fun performances from the top promoting K-pop artists!
Aside from the usual stages, Davichi, Jaurim, and Suki made their comeback this week while April Kiss made their debut. A special dance performance was also thrown by MBLAQ and 4minute, andGirl’s Day delivered a special message through their ‘Milk Song’.
The ‘Take 7‘ nominees were SISTAR (“So Cool“), INFINITE (“Be Mine“), Dal Shabet (“Bling Bling“),TEEN TOP (“No Perfume On You“), G.NA (“Top Girl“), CS Numbers (“Crying With My Heart“) and Super Junior (“Mr. Simple“).
Super Junior won #1, but unfortunately were not able to receive their prize as they were not present for this week’s ‘Inkigayo’.
INFINITE has been earning widespread headlines, but it’s more than just for their shiny new trophy that they won recently on Mnet‘s “M! Countdown“. The group recently started performing an orchestra remix of their title track, “Be Mine“, which awed fans with its rare combination of classical sound and idol performances.
While the original “Be Mine” focused on a slightly retro style, the boys mixed things up by bringing in a 30-member orchestra to add a classical twist to their hit song. Combined with INFINITE’s sleek fashion, viewers praised the boys for coming up with a stage that’s not easy to accomplish, nor seen every day.
Woollim Entertainment commented, “It was a stage specially prepared to thank their fans for the support. They’ll be working hard to show an even bigger variety of stages.”
After completing their title track promotions with “Mona Lisa“, MBLAQ quickly followed up with the more mellow “I Don’t Know”!
Putting aside their usual ‘Chic Idol’ image, “I Don’t Know” captures more of their “perfect boyfriend” personalities as they sing about the stress and worries they must face when trying to understand what their girlfriends are thinking.
MBLAQ’s Seungho mentioned, “Every time people ask what the follow-up song for ‘Mona Lisa’ is, we say ‘I Don’t Know’ and they look at us oddly. ‘I Don’t Know’ is a song which battled ‘Mona Lisa’ until the end for the title song position. You can experience a different MBLAQ charm with this song.”
The boys also performed a hot cover of Neyo on ‘Inkigayo’ tonight, and later collaborated with 4minutefor “Love Stoned” by Justin Timberland“.Check out their performances below!
After a lengthy hiatus, power duo Davichi finally made their comeback on “Inkigayo” with their latest title track, “Don’t Say Goodbye”!
After causing a sensation with their 2010 hit, “Time, Please Stop”, the girls returned with yet another successful track, as they recently managed to dominate the “Leessang Wave” on almost all online music charts through their newest album, “Love Delight“.
Contrary to the punk rock sound from “Time, Please Stop”, “Don’t Say Goodbye” utilized ballad elements and a soft, soothing violin melody.
